Now on to my generic disclaimer!-
The story you are about to read contains diaper use, violence, adult language and strong sexual content. The following is evil, illegal, should be banned, and all that other blah, blah, blah. If reading a coming of age story of self-discovery about pre-adolescent and adolescent boys that wet their beds, wear diapers, and explore their awakening sexuality with each other does not tickle your pickle (or if the law in your area says that pickle tickling is illegal) then don't read it.
Chapter 17: Tuesday November 19th, 2013 – Early Morning
I was awakened that early morning by the sound of a dog barking. Slowly I sat up and rubbed my eyes. As I tried to move, I found that my body was even more stiff and sore than it had been earlier that night. Also the green army blanket that I had wrapped myself in was soaked with my fresh pee. Yes it must have been not long since I had wet as my bladder seemed unusually empty.
I peeled the wet blanket off of me and like I did with my clothing, laid it out on the floor so that it could hopefully dry faster. Speaking of my clothes, I then went over and checked my wet things that I had laid out to dry a few hours before. The wetness on them had dried some, but I could still see an obvious damp spot on my jeans. My shirt though being dark in color, the damp spot was pretty much unnoticeable.
The barking dog seemed to be getting closer and I was sure that it was in the yard below. Slowly I made my way to one of the widows and tried looking through a crack between the wall and the shutter. It was no use; I wasn't able to see the barking dog at all. I found myself hoping that it couldn't smell me way up here and possibly lead others to me.
"CHANCY, BE QUIET!" I heard the voice of a man yell out across the yard. It sounded as if it came from the direction of the back of the house.
Still, the dog continued to bark! I was now sure that it indeed could sense or smell me, and I was what it was barking at. The man suddenly yelled once again for `Chancy' to be quiet. This time the dog seemed to listen to its, what I presumed, owner. I sat there and prayed that the dog would go away. I knew it hadn't because I could hear it still below, whining and moving about.
I was getting redressed when a few minutes later another voice came from the back of the house. "Come on boy!" I heard a young boy's voice call out.
I found myself wondering if this was the voice of the forts owner. Anyway, after that, there was silence.
I dared to open the shuttered window that faced the house just a peep, so that I could check and see if the coast was clear. No one was in the back yard or in sight anywhere. Quickly, and hoping that no one was looking out one of the back windows; I climbed down the tree and made a beeline to a nearby alley.
I was a couple blocks away when I slowed down and tried to look normal. I now found myself feeling a little ashamed of peeing all over that boys blanket and hoped and prayed that it dried before he climbed up to his fort next. I also hoped the smell wouldn't be as noticeable by then either.
The morning air was cold, especially on my wet clothes. Every time the wind blew, it sent a bone chilling shiver through my lower regions. Oh how much I wished for some dry pants and my coat! I may have a weird liking for the feeling of a wet GoodNite, but wet and pee smelling clothing was just a plain awful feeling. And smell I certainly did, I had now wet my pants twice and they definitely smelled of stale pee!
I also realized that I forgot to grab a few of the remaining snacks for breakfast. My stomach for sure was reminding me now as it began to growl incessantly. I knew it would be wrong, and stealing from a kid I didn't know wasn't something I liked to do. But I was also sure the kid would notice the missing snacks I already ate as the wrappers were still up in the fort where I left them. Too bad I didn't think about getting the address and that way I could send him some money. Oh well, too late now!
Cold, wet, sore, and hungry; I found myself wondering what to do next. Even if I found the school, I wasn't sure I would chance stepping foot back in it. What if someone recognized me before I could make it to my locker and back out?
As I stated before, the town I was in was not super large, but it wasn't small either! Still, I figured that if I stayed in one direction, sooner or later I had to end up somewhere! At least I hoped. The direction was easy for me, home was north. And I wasn't thinking of the Jacksons' home. I figured that somehow or another, I would find my way to the Interstate, and if I have to, hitch hike back to northern Chicago! At least there I knew my way around and I figured maybe my babysitter Mary, would let me stay with her until my mom was found.
Yeah... I was dreaming, but you can't fault me for doing so!
As the streets started to get busy with morning traffic and the kids were now making their way to school, I began to get nervous. Several times I swear I thought the kids I passed were staring at my wet pants, which still hadn't completely dried yet! For my part, I tried my best to pretend to not notice. At least with the kids now walking to school, I now knew how to get there. So I picked out a group of kids who looked old enough to go to the middle school and followed a little ways behind them. Amazingly, I was only 3 blocks away and didn't even know it.
The nice thing with all the kids around, I easily blended in and had no trouble making it to my locker. Of course a new problem approached though! As I stared at the lock, I tried my best to remember the combination. All I could come up with though, was a blank!
"Dang it!" I said out loud, and hit my locker with my fist.
"Are you having some problems with your locker?" A deep voice asked behind me.
As I turned around, I came face to face with the Vice Principal! "Ah... I... Um..." I was very flustered at that moment and didn't really know what to say.
I was sure that I was now busted. I mean, I just had a confrontation with the guy just yesterday. He was sure to remember me I thought. Amazingly though, he didn't seem to as he smiled at me.
"Did you forget your combination to your lock?" he asked. I gulped and nodded. "Well that's okay, just go to the office and tell them who you are and they will look it up for you." And with that he continued down the hall and I started to breathe normally again.
I thought to myself, "What are the chances that I could go to the office and get the combination without someone recognizing me?"
The answer to that was simple, zero to none! I mean there was a difference from a faulty memory of the V.P. to the office actually looking up my name. I sighed and stood there staring into space, deciding what to do. Running away was bad! Running away in the winter without a coat was terrible! I was about to leave when I realized that there was one place still that I could find my combination to my locker. That was the original piece of paper that the office gave me containing it. The problem was, the place that it was in, was the lion's den! It was where I left it, sitting in my notebook in my desk. Which of course, was in my classroom. After a quick decision, I made my mind up to at least attempt to retrieve the combination.
When I approached my classroom, I peeked in checking for signs of the teacher or her aid. I breathed a great sigh of relief when all I spotted was a couple of the kids. Neither one said anything to me as I went to my desk and located the slip of paper that contained my locker combination, and believe me, I was okay with this.
I was making my way to the door, when Mrs. Matthews entered the room. She looked at me surprised and frowned.
"Someone must have been mistaken!" She said in puzzlement. "I was just told by someone in the office that you went missing yesterday!"
With nothing to lose, I tried my best to look puzzled as well. "That beats me Mrs. Matthews! I don't know what that is about!" I added, sounding what I thought was pretty convincing.
"Well, then I guess we should talk about your abrupt disappearance yesterday from class then." Mrs. Matthews started to say as she walked to her desk.
With no other option, I followed her.
"So tell me why you decided to skip the 2nd half of the school day, yesterday?" My teacher asked me. I did observe that she didn't say this in anger, but instead seemed to be seriously concerned about it.
"Well... I... um..." This day to me, was beginning to sound like a broken record! I tried my best to calm myself and answer her question. "I had to pee really bad, and Mrs. Peterson refused to let me go and use the bathroom." I whispered, trying to honestly explain.
"Yes, Mrs. Peterson mentioned that, but why didn't you come back? I promise, I am pretty understanding." She said kindly.
"I'm sorry Mrs. Matthews..." I really didn't know what to say here as I didn't want to tell this teacher I liked that I wet my pants like a little baby.
"I promise, you can tell me anything and I will do my best to understand." Mrs. Matthews said once again.
I thought long and hard on whether or not to tell her about my accident. In the end I decided to trust her. I then leaned closer to her and lowered my voice to barely a whisper, as I didn't want the other kids to overhear what I said next.
"I had an accident. I didn't make it in time and peed my pants." I explained feeling a strong surge of embarrassment flow through me.
"Oh!" Was all she said and for several seconds didn't say anything else. Finally she looked at me kindly. "Alright! I guess I can understand your predicament, especially being new and all. I will tell you what, I don't turn in my attendance records until the end of the week. I will go ahead and let this slip and not mark you absent. Just promise me that before you do anything like that again, that you first give me a chance." She then reached out and patted my hand. "I promise, I will try and be very understanding!"
Not really knowing what to say, I gulped and said, "thank you Mrs. Matthews."
"Now class is about to begin. Please go find your seat." She instructed.
Again, with not much of a choice; I made my way to my desk and took a seat. I figured all I had to do was get through the first period, and then I could head for my locker, grab my coat, and make my getaway. It did bother me that I was about to do exactly what Mrs. Matthews so kindly asked me not to do. Unfortunately, the plan did not go the way I hoped it would.
Not more than 20 minutes into class, the V.P. walked into the room and eyed me with a disdained look. He first went over to where Mrs. Matthews was and talked to her in whispers. Both of them looked my way a couple times. Once I saw the shocked look on my teachers face, I knew then for sure that the gist was up!
I ended up panicking and bolted from the classroom. As I ran down the hall making my way to the stairs, both my teacher and the V.P. were hot on my heels. Now normally I was a good kid and did well in school. I would have never, ever, considered doing what I was now doing. But extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures!
As I ran down the stairs, I slipped and fell head over heels! It was a miracle that I didn't break my neck, but I did twist my ankle. I tried getting back up and screamed out of agony from the pain emanating from my now quickly swelling ankle. This ended my short stint as a runaway!
When the V.P. made it to where I was on the floor, where I was rubbing my sore ankle, he helped me up and supported me all the way to the office. No longer much of a flight risk, I was taken to a bench where I was told to sit until I was called. The V.P. then went inside his office and closed the door. For the next half hour, as I sat there worried at what was going to happen, I actually found myself wishing for the one time I could actually be ... All Alone!
