CHAPTER TWELVE

(The Conclusion)

<><><><><><><><>

During the next few days, the incident with Jerry in David's bedroom had not been mentioned or spoken about and the embarrassed tension had somewhat subsided. David kept the quick rendezvous a secret from Richard and the three of them were talking to one another as if nothing had happened on either night: the night when Jerry asked Richard to leave or the other one, when he had gone to bed with David.

Today, David was in the living room with Jerry watching Auburn playing Alabama on ESPN Saturday afternoon football while Richard was busy in the kitchen preparing the BIG MEAL when the doorbell rang. Jerry said he would answer it. Tom was a surprise guest to both Jerry AND David since Richard hadn't told anyone about inviting Tom.

Jerry opened the door and didn't know the stranger "Yes? May I help you?" Jerry asked.

"I...I'm...Is David here?"

"Yes, he is. Can I tell him who you are?"

"I'm Tom...Tom Lansford. David's roommate from UVA..."

"Sure, Tom. I'm Jerry! Come on in. Is David expecting you?"

"I...I think so..."

Over his shoulder Jerry yelled at David, "Hey Dave, look who's here!"

"Who?"

"Hi, David," Tom said, entering the living room.

"My GOD! TOM!"

David jumped up off the couch and all but ran to embrace Tom. The two of them hugged as if they hadn't seen one another in years, though it'd only been less than two months.

"Jesus! You're a sight for sore eyes!" David exclaimed. "I had no idea you were coming! Gosh, I'm so glad to see you!"

"Didn't Richard tell you he invited me to dinner?"

"No, he didn't," David said out loud while Jerry said the same, "No, he didn't," to himself, rather incredulously. It seemed Richard was just full of surprises. 'Sure, Richard had mentioned inviting a guest, but...Tom?'

Jerry felt a sudden jealousy for no other reason than that Tom and David had lived together for three years and only God knows what might have happened while they were roommates. Besides, how had Richard known where and how to find Tom? Jerry made an instant faux connection. If Richard knew Tom, Tom MUST be gay. David claimed that he wasn't gay before meeting Luke in Atlanta, but how could David live with a gay guy for three years without having some kind of sexual relationship if nothing more than a jerk-off session. Jerry's suddenly jealousy made him question his sanity. Was he going nuts? He was inviting his dream girl over for dinner, but now he was more concerned about David's former roommate than he was about seeing Jenny. WHY, for God's sake?

"David, you look wonderful!" Tom said. "I...I heard nothing about your accident or I would have been by your side day and night at the hospital."

"I'm sure you would have, Tom. So many things happened so quickly the day of the wreck. It was right after I picked up my stuff from our room and I had a talk with Jenny. I hadn't been off the campus ten or fifteen minutes until the car I was in collided with the truck."

"It makes me wonder. If I had had a longer conversation with you that day, you might have avoided being on the highway at that instant and nothing would have happened as it did."

"Look, Tom, would you like a beer? Would you like to watch the game or what?" David asked, dodging telling the details of Luke to Tom.

"Do you have a room where we can go and talk?" Tom asked.

"Sure. I have a private bedroom. Jerry, would you excuse the two of us?"

"Yeah. You two go catch up on old times. I have to start cleaning up as soon as the game's over and pick up Jenny. It's nice meeting you, Tom."

"Same here, Jerry."

As David led Tom toward his bedroom, Richard came out of the kitchen.

"Hey, big guy!" Richard said, warmly, greeting Tom.

"Hi, Richard."

"Don't I at least get a 'hello' hug?"

"Of course."

Richard gave Tom a big embrace which pleased David and made Jerry's eyes open twice as much. He was baffled by Richard's and Tom's greeting and was convinced more than ever that Tom was gay...which would have made Tom David's old college boyfriend, no matter how difficult it was for David to deny it.

"I hope you're hungry," Richard said.

"Seems like every time we meet, I'm hungry," Tom replied.

"Well, at least tonight, you'll be sampling my own cuisine and not some frozen franchise food."

"You're full of surprises," Tom said.

"You can say that again," Jerry said, wryly just loud enough for everyone to hear...and ignore.

"You two go have your chat. I have things to do in the kitchen. Can I get either of you something to drink?"

"A Diet Coke would be nice," David said.

"Could you make that two, please?", Tom added.

"Come on into my room, Richard will bring our drinks to us."

Tom followed David into his bedroom and was very impressed by the new furniture, computer, the flat-screen TV, everything!

"Man, we should have had all this stuff in our dorm. This is like being at the Ritz."

"Ha! Tom, if we had had half this stuff, our room would have been crowded around the clock. We'd never've had time to study."

"I suppose you're right."

"So, 'roomie', how's school?"

"You mean when I attend my classes or when I skip and hide in our room?"

"Tom, you were never guilty of cutting classes."

"That's before YOU left. I...I don't do a lot of things I used to."

"What's the problem, Tom?"

"You want me to be blunt?"

"Hell, yes. We never kept secrets from one another...at least that I knew of..."

David was giving Tom the opening to admit he was gay and to bring up the other things Tom had told Richard about, particularly about being in love with David for three years. David didn't want to press Tom on the subject because he had decided a few days ago, he might not tell Tom about Luke or about being gay himself now, as that might only frustrate Tom even more.

"David, my main problem is...I miss you. It's not the same. After living together three years, you became my sounding board, my crutch, my right arm. Without you, I feel a great part of me is missing."

"Tom, even if I had stayed to spend my senior year at UVA, we would have separated after graduation."

"Yeah, but that was BEFORE you broke your engagement with Jenny."

"You DO know she's going to be here for dinner."

"I know and I promise I WON'T make a scene. I think I can put up with her in exchange for the chance of seeing you...AND the fact that you two are no longer a couple makes it easier. She can be JERRY'S problem now."

"Why didn't you like Jenny, Tom?"

"Probably for the same reason you broke up with her..."

David was almost fearful to probe further. Did Tom know that he told Jenny he was gay? "Oh, I doubt it was for the same reason. What was YOURS?"

"The fact that, well, Jenny is Jenny. I'm sorry, David, but once a cunt, always a cunt. She had you wrapped around her...not her finger...her pussy, I suppose."

"Jesus, Tom! You sound as if you were jealous of her!"

"I was. She took up the extra time I wanted to spend with you."

"Hell, man, we spent every night together during six semesters."

"Except for the nights you came in late after a date with her. I could smell her K Mart perfume on your clothes as soon you walked into our room."

"I don't think they sell Chanel at K Mart."

"No, but I'm sure K Mart sells a cheap imitation of Chanel."

David laughed. "I couldn't tell the difference."

"Probably not, but my nose didn't mix her fragrance with the smell of her cunt juice which was in your nostrils."

"You think I actually went down on Jenny?"

"Don't ALL guys go down on their girlfriends just to get a blow job?"

"What if I said Jenny never gave me a blow job?"

"I could almost believe you."

"You didn't date that often, but what about the girls you took to the college dances. Did you go down on them?"

"David, you might as well know after all these years. I'm allergic to pussy."

"You're what?"

"Looking at one, breaks me out in hives!"

"Are you telling me you're a virgin?"

"I didn't say that. I said I didn't like pussy!"

"Tom, are you saying that you're...you're gay?"

"Go ahead and make fun of me! End our friendship, if you MUST, but...OK, I'll say it...YES, I'm gay and always have been."

"Damn, Tom, your being gay wouldn't break up our friendship or the way I've always felt about you."

"Yeah, you can say that now that we're no longer roommates. If you had known, you would have moved out like a dose of ExLax."

"After three years, apparently you didn't know me as well as you thought you did."

"But you were straight and I knew it."

"Yes, I was, but that wouldn't have changed our friendship."

"Sure, you can say that now!"

"Can I ask you a personal question now that you've revealed your secret to me?"

"Yeah."

"Is...is that why you were at Richard's place last weekend when I called and you answered the phone?"

"I might at well be honest. Yes, Richard met me at Le Cavalier Gai, a gay bar, and invited me to spend the night with him. I had no idea he knew you, I didn't know a thing about your relationship with him."

"Did you have sex with Richard?"

"All night!"

"And did you enjoy it?"

"Don't laugh, but it was the greatest night of my life."

"Oh?"

"David, I know you don't know much about gay life. I found that out when you found out about your brother, Mark...but it IS possible for two men to fall in love the way men and women do."

"I...I found that out when I met...Mark's friends in Atlanta. They opened my eyes to a lot of things. It didn't take long for me to change my viewpoint from the way my dad had raised me."

"I know your dad made life miserable for your brother because he was gay and JUST as miserable for you even though you're straight."

"Dad DID have a lot to do with it."

"So you're not shocked that I slept with Richard?"

"Not at all. Since both of you are consenting adults, I guess I approve."

"I didn't expect you to be so understanding..."

"I told you there was a lot you didn't know about me."

"That was BEFORE you went to Atlanta and met Mark's gay friends."

"Tell me, Tom. How do you feel about Richard?"

"I tell you what I told him. I think I could fall in love with him..."

"Do you think Richard feels the same way about you?"

As soon as David asked the question, Richard came into David's bedroom carrying two Diet Cokes.

"Why don't you ask me?" Richard said, entering. Tom dropped his head and couldn't look Richard in the eyes.

"I will," David replied. "Do you think you're in love with Tom?"

"I've thought a lot about it since last Saturday and, in spite of the many complications...our age difference, the distance between here in River Oaks and UVA, getting to know Tom after just one night together...all I can say is...it's possible."

Tom lifted his head and looked at Richard hopefully.

"Do you really mean that?" Tom asked.

"Tom, if I believed in love at first sight, I'd say 'yes', definitely. But I would like to get to know you better. There are things you might discover about me which you don't like," Richard said.

"Well," David interrupted, "since I'm the only one in the room who has lived with BOTH of you, I think that permits me to voice MY opinion!" Both Tom and Richard looked straight at David. "I think the two of you are ideally suited for one another. You'd make a happy couple as far as I'm concerned."

"Sounds as if you're giving us your blessing, David," Tom said.

"I am. Once you get to know each other as I know both of you, you'll find out for yourselves."

"I trust the two of you are going back to Richard's apartment after dinner?"

"Well, we sorta..." Tom started to say, but David interrupted with "GOOD! Why don't you stay TWO nights and spend all day tomorrow as well?"

"What do you think, Tom?" Richard asked.

"I...I would love that..."

"You can borrow some of my clothes since we're both the same size," Richard offered.

"Hey, guys!" David said. "Doesn't this call for some kind of hug and kiss?"

"In front of you?" Tom asked, surprised and confused.

"I'll turn away if it'd be easier for you guys."

"That won't be necessary," Richard added as he walked toward Tom, put his arms around him and kissed him passionately. Tom almost collapsed while David sat smiling at his two friends. How he longed for Luke to be with him to share the moment of two people falling in love as he and Luke had in Atlanta.

"The only thing I ask is that the two of you be on your best behavior in front of Jenny and Jerry tonight," David added.

"I might bust wide open with excitement because I can't help myself!" Tom said.

"Just play it cool and think what fun you're gonna have later at Richard's apartment." His grin held a hint of mischief.

"Shit, David, I might climax at the dinner table in anticipation!" Tom exclaimed.

"I wouldn't do that in front of Jerry if I were you," David said. David's smile was mirrored by Richard's smile. The two of them kept THAT secret from Tom. Richard was almost certain that there were several things David hadn't said to Tom, principally about Luke and about David's new lifestyle. Richard also knew that David had set the two of them up because if Tom realized that David was gay now, Tom might change his attention from Richard to David. "Richard, why don't you take Tom into the kitchen and see what he can do to help you with finishing dinner?"

"You'll be all right?"

"If I don't get a little privacy, I'll never finish this Clancy novel and I've just gotten into the most exciting part of the story!" David said.

Richard kissed Tom again, then took him out of the bedroom into the kitchen where they continued to 'get to know one another' better. The living room was empty. Jerry was in his bedroom getting ready to go pick up Jenny so he was unaware of Tom going into the kitchen with Richard. Jerry just assumed that by this time, David and his former roommate were engaged in some kind of sexual activity and Jerry couldn't wait to get out of the house. Sure, Jerry was jealous of Tom and Jerry finally had to admit it to himself!

<><><><><><><><><><><>

Jerry was due back at his house with Jenny at 7:30. Richard had helped David get dressed up while Tom set the dinner table with five place settings. Dinner was ready and could be served as soon as Jerry and Jenny arrived. In between providing the finishing touches to the various dishes,, Richard took time to give another hug and kiss to Tom...and another...and still another...all the while, feeling that this seemed so right. On his part, Tom was getting so horny, he was ready to have sex with Richard on the stove top if necessary. He couldn't wait for dinner to be over and hurry over to Richard's apartment to help start or seal their new relationship.

Soon it was eight o'clock...eight-thirty...nine...nine-thirty...ten and STILL no Jerry OR Jenny. David was very concerned and became worried. He was almost relieved, though, that nearly three hours had passed and he hadn't had to confront Jenny, but at the same time, this was very unlike Jerry who was always the prompt cop and ran a tight schedule. David was waiting in his room while Tom and Richard continued to make out on the living room sofa. The two of them were unaware of the time and everything else for that matter as both were now eager to leave and hurry to Richard's apartment for a night of bliss.

Finally, David came out of his bedroom into the living room.

"Did Jerry call?" David asked, to which Richard replied, "Nope, not a word."

"Something MUST be wrong. I'm worried."

"Should we call someone...Jerry's station, or the hospitals?" Richard asked.

"I'm not sure. I'm sure Jerry wouldn't renege on dinner after all the trouble you've gone to and the money he gave you to buy food. I'm sure you must be hungry, Tom."

"Not really..."

"Look, David, it's Jerry's dinner and I wouldn't touch a thing without his being here," Richard said. "Tom and I can eat when we get home. I always have plenty of food in my refrigerator."

"I know how anxious the two of you must be to leave, so why don't you? I'll be all right. I'll wait until eleven and if I haven't heard from Jerry, then I'll call Jenny's house and see what happened. If it's anything serious, I'll call you at your place, Richard."

"I hate to leave you alone, David. I'm paid to stay until Jerry arrives every night."

"That's when he's WORKING! He swapped with another policeman to have tonight off. So, in essence, this is YOUR night off as well. Jerry broke the rules, so I insist that the two of you go home."

"If you're sure..."

"I'm positive! Now SCOOT! BOTH OF YOU!!"

Richard arose from the couch to get his and Tom's jackets. They put them on and both went to give David a hug before leaving.

"Don't forget to call me if there's ANYTHING wrong..." Richard said.

"David, now that you know everything, is it all right to come visit you more often?" Tom asked.

"You can come see me AND my therapist every day if you like...ONLY after you go to class. You have to graduate in June. Heck, who knows, you might have to take a job quickly to support a new lover or someone."

"David, ALWAYS know that I loved you and always will," Tom said.

"I've always known that, Tom, and I'll never forget it...now or in the future."

"For your sake, you'd better be glad you're NOT gay. Things might have been different the three years we lived together..."

"If I ever decide that I'm gay and feel that I have to announce it, I'll call you first, Tom!" David hugged Tom while giving Richard a 'knowing' wink behind Tom's back. Richard smiled and winked back. Then, hand in hand, Richard and Tom left.

David locked the front door behind them and went into the kitchen to inspect the fancy dishes Richard had prepared for dinner. He was hungry, picked up a fork out of the silverware drawer and began to sample the delicacies. The food had cooled, but the flavors were magnificent. Richard could be the 'Iron Chef' of River Oaks, David thought. Each taste made David a bit hungrier. Finally, he said, 'To hell with it!' and fixed a plate of food for himself and brought it into the dinner table where he sat down alone. Perhaps old man Fairbanks didn't approve of Jerry and wouldn't allow Jenny to go out with him. That would be quite a scene. Maybe Jenny had annoyed Jerry so much that he had taken his police revolver and shot her on the way to Jerry's. Now THAT WOULD BE a scene!

David had just about finished eating. He looked at his watch which read 10:50. He would wait ten minutes before making his calls to find the missing host and his dinner guest. Five minutes later, David heard a key in the front door lock and Jerry entered alone, sans Jenny.

"Hi..." Jerry said.

"Hi, yourself...Are you hungry? The food is wonderful!"

"Where's Richard and your roommate?"

"I...I asked them to leave. It was getting so late. Are you SURE you're not hungry?"

"A bit..."

"Go fix yourself a plate. I think you'll find everything delicious."

"I'm glad Richard and John have left."

"You mean Tom..."

"Sorry, Tom...I'm glad Richard and TOM have left. I need to talk with you alone."

"Oh...? Look, Jerry, if this is going to be a serious conversation, why don't you fix you a plate of food first?"

"It's just that..."

"I INSIST! PLEASE! Fix a plate and come join me at the table. You spent a lot for this dinner and I want you to enjoy it."

"ALL RIGHT! DAMN IT!"

Jerry took a plate from the table into the kitchen and piled on some of each dish until the plate was all but overflowing with food. Then he came back, set down his plate, and took a chair opposite David. He took a couple of bites and said, "You're right, this IS good."

"I told you. Richard is a wonderful cook."

"Richard seems to be a lot of wonderful things in your eyes."

"Yes, he is. He's a man of many talents."

"I saw a few days ago that I could never compete with Richard."

"Oh? Did you and Richard have some kind of contest or competition I didn't know about?"

"No...Richard wasn't aware of it either."

"Then why did you say you were competing with him? Over what?"

"Over you, David."

"ME?"

"Yes, goddammit!"

"I think you'd better explain yourself, Jerry."

"David, I'm a policeman...a detective! Do you think I didn't know how much Richard was in love with you?"

"You're the detective! I didn't 'detect' any such notion from Richard."

"Oh, David, it was so fucking obvious! I nearly went berserk when I came in the other night and found cum stains all over both of you. Why the fuck do you think I wanted to sleep with you? I wanted to show you I was better in some ways that Richard is...but I sure fucked that up, too!"

"Jerry, I told you that Richard and I didn't make love. We merely had quick impersonal sex to ease our tension."

"Yeah, but we won't talk about 'QUICK' sex. I was a failure in that way as well."

"Jerry, are you saying you wanted to make love and not just 'sleep' with me?"

"YES! DAMMIT!"

"Why, for chrissakes? You're straight!"

"You were too, until you hooked up with Luke in Atlanta...or so you said."

"You're saying you're not straight now? What about Jenny and the way you feel about her?"

"Shit! I went over to her house and sat with her parents while she got dressed and I swear to God, they're both loony. If I married Jenny, their genes might skip a generation and Jenny's and my kids might be as loony as they are. I left before she came down from her bedroom."

"So you no longer look at her in the same way?"

"NO! When I left Jenny's, I drove around town...all around my usual work beat, thinking, thinking, thinking... for almost three hours. I couldn't decide whether to drive my car into the nearest tree, blow my brains out, or drive to the hospital psych ward and tell them I'd gone completely nuts!"

"Jenny's parents did that to you?"

"Jenny's parents helped but that was not the real reason."

"Then what had you so upset?"

"DAVID! GOD DAMN IT! I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU!"

"Then why didn't you say something?"

"Because I had to convince myself first! 'I' had to know that I was in love with you before I could tell you about it!"

"And how did you convince yourself?"

"I can't sleep. I can't do my job. I can't even jerk off without thinking about you. You're in my thoughts day and night and it's nearly driven me crazy! Hell, I know there's no reason for you to love me. I mean, you've just lost Luke and it's too soon for you to fall in love again with ANYBODY, let alone with me! I'm not experienced! I don't know how to make love to a man, but, David, I'm willing to learn."

"I must confess, falling in love with you WOULD present a problem or two."

"More than two, I suppose."

"First of all, I'm moving to New York. I'm going to start my senior year at Columbia in January. That would mean that, in a couple of months, we'd be separated for a whole year unless you moved to New York with me."

"HAH! How would I ever get a job with the NYPD? I'm a cop! That's all I know to be. That's ALL I'll ever be!"

"You're young. Suppose you had the chance to become something else...what would it be?"

"Hell, since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, I wanted to be a lawyer...but money and time wouldn't permit that. I had to go to work and make my own living."

"Did you go to college at all?"

"I finished two years at the community college and got an associate's degree."

"So you could earn your BS in two years...THEN law school. Right?"

"Yeah."

"Columbia has a fine law school."

"Sure, if you're a millionaire and can afford to go there."

"Jerry, do you see that legal envelope on the table by the door?"

Jerry looked. "Yes."

"Go get it and read what the letter says inside it."

Jerry got up from the table, picked up the large manila envelope and brought it back to the table and sat down. There were two pieces of paper inside...a large one and a smaller one. Jerry read the letter and his eyes became bigger while his jaw seemed to drop.

"WHERE DID YOU GET THIS? I mean, HOW? Who is Walter Clayton?"

"When I was in Atlanta, I met Mark's priest, Chris...or rather, 'Father' Chris. He's moved to a town called Briarwood where's he's become a priest there. A member of his congregation is a lawyer named Walter Clayton. Walter called me to ask if I needed an attorney to claim a settlement from the wreck. I told him that George Hemphill, Luke's lawyer, had paid for my hospital bill and was keeping me supplied with therapy and a place to stay...with you. It seems that Walter and George are good friends. They had worked on several ABA committees together and Walter asked if I would like him to represent me with my accident claim. The next day, he called George and the two of them made an out-of-court settlement concerning Luke's estate...actually, the money Luke's Aunt Delia left him for which George is acting executor. I'm not sure what Walter said to George, but at any rate, the two decided that since Luke had no heir, Luke's estate would be divided between me and a charity, fifty-fifty. The charity just happened to be one in Briarwood...The Cole Institute for AIDS Research. As you can see in the letter, Walter wanted NO attorney's fee and had a cashier's check drawn up with my name on it for my share."

Jerry picked up the smaller piece of paper and saw that it was a check.

"HOLY CHRIST!"

"I don't believe it either!"

"David, this check is for...my GOD! Six-million-eight-hundred-thousand dollars!"

"Enough to pay for the law school at Columbia?"

"FUCK! I can't use this money!"

"WE can, Jerry." David's voice was quiet and controlled.

"But..."

"Shut up! It's MY turn to talk. When I lost Luke...who came to see me every day? Who brought my mother to see me? Who visited Luke's grave and brought flowers? Who has watched over me day and night when no one else would? My family? My friends at school? Jenny? YOU were the only one. You think it's been easy NOT to fall in love with you? I knew you were straight and could never love me in the same way. I never expected you to go through a sexual identity transformation almost overnight, as I did...but just now, when you said you loved me, I suddenly found happiness once again. I suddenly had hope. You knew Luke and I'm sure Luke would want me to be with someone he knew and...someone that I loved..."

"You're telling me that you love me?"

"God, help me, but, yes, I do."

"Then God help us both."

"So, how does Thanksgiving and Christmas in New York sound?"

"More wonderful than I could ever dream!"

"You know, with that much money, neither of us would ever have to work," David said.

"Maybe, but that's not YOUR dream or mine. We'll BOTH get our degrees and then decide where we want to live."

"How about Massachusetts? Gay marriages are legal there...you being a man of the law."

"You'd marry me?"

"I was going to marry Luke. Why shouldn't we get married?"

"You know I still don't know how to make love to a man."

"I'm the only man you'll ever have to make love to."

"You're all I want, David," Jerry said.

"Why don't you finish your dinner and we'll go into the bedroom for your first lesson?"

"I...I don't know what to say, David!"

"Then, don't talk! Actions speak louder than words, anyway."

"How soon do you want to move to New York?"

"Maybe next week, or as soon as you're ready."

"Hell, let's leave tonight."

"No, that's a bit too soon. There's still one thing we MUST do before we go."

"What's that?"

"We have to go to the cemetery and place Mark's ashes on Luke's grave. I want THEM to be happy together as they wanted to be when they were kids and I want to show them how happy we are."

"Are you going to tell Richard and Tom about us?"

"Yes, but not tonight. I'm sure at the moment, they're having wild sex together at Richard's apartment."

"You mean, they...?"

"Yep?"

"But how did that happen?"

"It's a long story. I'll tell you before we begin your second lesson."

"I DO love you, David."

"And I DO love you, Jerry."

"God! I hope I don't choke on this plate of food."

"Take your time...we have a lifetime of tomorrows ahead of us...and all my tomorrows belong to you."

While Jerry continued to eat, David went to the CD player and picked out a dozen CD's to play for the rest of their romantic evening together. The first was Frank Sinatra. After a violin introduction, Frank began to sing:

"Today I may not have a thing at all

Except for just a dream or two.

But I've got lots of plans for tomorrow

And all my tomorrows belong to you.

Right now it may not seem like spring at all.

We're drifting and the laughs are few.

But I've got rainbows planned for tomorrow

And all my tomorrows belong to you.

No one knows better than I

That luck keeps passing me by...that's fate.

But with you there at my side,

I'll soon be turning the tide...just wait.

As long as I've got arms that cling at all,

It's you that I'll be clinging to.

And all the dreams I dream, beg, or borrow

On some bright tomorrow, they'll all come true.

And all my bright tomorrows belong to you.
