Hey guys! So it has been a while since my last installation. But I did give you two chapters within a week the last time. So this one is going to be short. Not the best chapter but quite necessary. As some of you might already know, I am moving into a new room in my house, one that is much much larger. I'll be painting too! Anyway it might take a little longer than a week before I get the next chapter out. Oh and a big thanks again to my favourite Aussie Clinton for editing this chapter. Read On!
It was only six by the time we got home. Colby had taken my bag and followed me into the house. I found a note on the kitchen counter saying that my parents had gone out to dinner. How convenient eh? I walked around, lackadaisically, wondering if this was real.
"Oliver." Colby said, placing his hands on my shoulder, turning me around. I looked deep into his eyes. I never new grey could be so beautiful. "Calm down. This is real." he said placing my hand on his heart. His heart was pumping a marathon. "I know I've hurt you."
"Sshh." I said putting my finger to his lips. They felt like moist velvet under my touch. "I just want you to hold me tonight. We have all the time in the world to talk." I took his hand and led him upstairs to my room. My sudden courage surprised me. I hadn't let go of his hand until he tried to let go to undress. "No. Let me."
My hand slowly let go of his and reached for the hem of his shirt. My fingers softly grazed the smooth skin of his torso, feeling every ridge his muscles made. He then reached up to my neck and started to unbutton my shirt. My whole body grew weak as his hands came back up, sliding the shirt off my back, his hands like feathers giving my body a taste of what it craved so much. I reached for the buttons on his jeans and slowly pulled him closer. I unbuttoned his pants and pulled them down. His thighs were smooth and nearly hairless while his legs were covered in a light dusting of chocolate brown hairs. He did the same with mine.
We both stepped out of our jeans that were now heaped on the floor. His hand found its way to the small of my back, pulling my body into his. For the first time I felt him. I wanted every part of our bodies touching.
"I can't believe I'm here." He whispered, holding me tight in his embrace. He nestled his head into the crook of my neck. My face was held softly in his. I felt a hot wetness stream down my neck. He was crying. It wasn't until that moment that I realized I was doing the same. I was holding the person I was meant to be with. I never thought it would ever happen. We just stood there, crying, holding each other. It was as if this was the only moment we'd ever get to hold each other ever again. "I'm sorry I hurt you. But I'm the happiest I've ever been because you're in my arms. Because I know that you're mine. I've never felt anything so intense, so...amazing."
"Come on, let's get to bed." I said taking his hand and leading him to the bed. I fell asleep, my head on his chest. The rhythm of his heart gently lulled me while the rise and fall of his chest rocked me to sleep.
"I love you Oliver. I love you so much." he whispered, nuzzling into my hair.
"I love you too."

My eyes stayed closed as my mind became conscious. I didn't want to open them for fear of realising last night was a dream. I laid still, unmoving. My body was numb to anything as my mind tried to figure out if it was a dream or not. My eyes suddenly shot open as I felt something tickle my nose. Colby closed the gap between our mouths and kissed me.
"Morning sleepy boy." he said softly before kissing me again.
"Morning." I said smiling shyly. I breathed a sigh of relief, it wasn't a dream. I was with him. I just gazed at him lovingly, trying to drink in all his beauty at once. I looked at the face that I finally got to caress, and his sweet plump lips that had completely surprised me last night by pressing against my own.
"I..."
"I..." we both started before stopping to let the other go first. "You go ahead." I said.
"Oliver. I saw the hurt in your eyes that morning when I found your bag gone. I knew just by the way you were unable to look me in the eye that you saw me and Beth." he said, his eyes getting moist. "I admit, I wanted you to see. I wanted to hurt you because you hurt me. You hurt me by saying you didn't want to spend as much time with me anymore. I'm sorry." his sobs interrupting him. It was breaking my heart. "That morning, you broke my heart Oliver. I was scared. I was scared of the feelings I had for you. That's the other reason I slept with Beth, because I was scared of my feelings for you. The moment you closed the door on our friendship...I realised that I couldn't live the rest of my life without you. You broke my heart that morning. I already knew I was in love with you but I was scared to admit to myself let alone you. I was so taken by you the first day I met you that I needed to find a way to get to know you. Being with a guy is so new to me, yet when I'm with you, there is nothing that makes me feel so complete. I have never seen someone so beautiful, so wonderful. I get a lump in my throat every time you say my name. Man, I could listen to you talk all day. I think I fell for you the night of your birthday dinner. When I hugged you before I left, I didn't want to let go. And then I kissed you on the cheek. I swear my lips felt like they were on fire." he said chuckling at the thought. "I don't care what people think anymore. Nothing and no one is going to stop me from being with you." I could see a fire burning in his eyes that told me he loved me.
"I love you Oliver. And I'm sorry."
"I love you too. And it's okay, you're willing to change your whole life around for me." I said teary eyed. "I just can't believe I'm finally with you."
"I can't believe I'm with you either. Now come on, let's go have breakfast. Your mom just knocked on the door and said breakfast should be ready soon." We both got up and got dressed. He hadn't brought his bag up so I let him borrow a pair of adjustable gym shorts. I could hear the unmistakable voice of my sister as we came down the stairs.
"Oliver!" she exclaimed as we walked into the kitchen. She took one look at us and I know she knew. Her eyes grew wide. It almost seemed like she was about to jump up and down from excitement. "OH MY GOD!!! You're together!" How she can tell these things just by looking I will never know.
"Together? What do you mean together?" My mom asked as she, dad and Kevin came over to see what the commotion was about.
"Well! Tell them!" Stef said almost pushing us towards them. I don't know why, but I was a little nervous about what they were about to find out. I looked over at Colby expecting to see the same, but there was a look I wasn't expecting. It was a mix of elation and pride. He looked over at me and smiled. That was all the reassurance I needed. He took my hand in his and looked back at my parents.
"I love your son. I asked him to be with me last night. He and I are together. I just want you to know that I would never do anything to consciously hurt Oliver. He means everything to me." he said to them. I squeezed his. My eyes were having a hard time focusing on anyone since they were misting up.
"Well we're very happy for you two." my dad said. "I've seen the way you look at my son and I've seen the way he looks at you."
"Yes we are very happy for you boys. But I will warn you Colby, if you ever hurt Oliver, I will castrate you and feed you your balls in a gourmet meal...and you'll love them!" my mom teased in her best stern voice.
"Mom!" I said, mortified at what she just said.
"Oh come here Colby." she said pulling him into a hug. "He knows I'm just kidding."
"I promise never to hurt Oliver. It took me a while to admit it, but I really do love you son."
"I know you do. I guess now we have to do the obligatory gesture of me showing you pictures of Oliver as a baby! But we'll do that tonight, that is assuming you're coming here for dinner tonight. Well Oliver, invite him over for a gourmet meal."
"Why don't you do it?" I asked her. My mom's a weirdo sometimes. But I love her.
"Because he's your boyfriend, not mine!" she said coming over to hug me. "I missed you boys."
"I missed you too mom!"
"Well, ask him." she said letting go.
"Geez mom you are crazy sometimes. Well, how bout it?" I asked shyly, turning towards Colby.
"Of course. I'd love to."
"And maybe you can stay the night? Mom, dad, would it be okay if he stayed the night?"
"He's stayed the night before, I don't see why not?" my dad said.
"But that was before they were together." my mom said to my dad. She then turned to us. " You boys just make sure you keep it down okay? We've heard Oliver a few times he definitely has a pair of lungs." my mom said nonchalantly. I was fully embarrassed at that point. I'm sure my face looked like a tomato.
"Well he definitely get's it from you." my dad said to my mom. I can't believe these two. Are they trying to kill me by humiliating me?
"Definitely runs in the family." Kevin said thoughtfully.
"Mom! Dad! Kevin! TMI!" I said. Colby was just laughing along with them.
"We'll have to test those lungs out one day." Colby whispered in my ear.
"Oh god, you will definitely fit into this crazy family!" I said. We finally sat down at the breakfast nook and had a great breakfast. Everything in my life, at the very moment was perfect.
"So, how is he in bed? Has he gotten to test those lungs out yet?" my sister whispered.
"Stef!" I sort whisper yelled...if that's possible. "It hasn't even been 24 hours since we've been together."
"Well, in any case, you have to tell me how this came about." she said going back to her food.
"You're crazy you know that?"
"I know, but I'm your sister, and you love me!" I just shook my head smiling.
Colby and I left for school after breakfast. He told me to just ride with him since he'd be going back home with me anyway. I agreed. Classes were great. Between thinking about Colby and looking at him as he sat next to me, I was surprisingly able to retain stuff from the lectures. We also picked up the work and notes we missed from our classmates. When classes were done, we headed over to his dorm so he could get some clean clothes. I told him to bring his laundry too. He could get his clothes washed for free at my house while we studied.
"Hey Dan." Colby said. "I'm just here to grab some clothes." he said stuffing his laundry into another duffel bag and putting some cleans ones in backpack. "I'm sorry for being curt with you before." he said.
"It's okay. Um...can I ask you guys something personal?" Dan said nervously. Colby and I just looked at each other.
"Yeah sure." Colby said.
"Are you two...you know...together? Because if you are than you had every right to be curt with me." Colby looked at me with a look that said 'Should we tell him?' I nodded my assent.
"We weren't before we left, but we are now." I said walking over to Colby. He put his arm around my waist. I looked up at him and he looked at me with such loving eyes. "Can I ask you a question?" He nodded nervously. "Are you...you know...gay?"
"Yeah I am. But please don't tell anyone. No one knows. H-how did you kn-know that I was? Is it that obvious?" he asked suddenly turning white.
"No you're not obvious. But when you look at a guy like you did me...well if you know what that look is then yes it's obvious. But trust me, it's not obvious."
"Don't worry bud, you secret is save with us." Colby said patting him on the back.
"You think maybe we can talk about it one day? I mean I feel like a whole lot lighter now that someone knows." he said looking down at his feet.
"Yeah of course. You got friends in us."
"Yeah, what he said." I reiterated.
"Really?"
"Of course. You talk to us when you need to okay?" Colby said.
"Thanks you guys."
"Well we're off. We'll see you tomorrow k?"
"K." he said and we left.
"He's a nice guy. Kinda cute." I said trying to get a stir from Colby.
"Hey now. Don't be crushing on my roommate, he's mine." he said with a mischievous grin.
"Ugh, I can never win. You really will fit in with my family." I said putting on my best sad face.
"Oh baby, come here." he said pulling me into a hug. "You made me realise that love really is blind. I never thought in a million years that I'd fall in love with a guy, but here you are."
"If you could, would you change the fact that I was a guy?" I asked. He didn't hesitate to answer.
"No, no I wouldn't. You wouldn't be you if you were a girl. I fell in love with you because you're a guy. When I'm with you, there's this...I don't even know what to call it. All I know is that I have never had that feeling with any of the girls I dated. The moment that you sat next to me the first day I met you was like nothing I've ever felt before. I had butterflies in my stomach before I even looked at you. And then when I saw how gorgeous you were...I honestly had never seen anyone so beautiful in my entire life. I probably fell in love with you that first day but just didn't realise it." he said looking at me through moist eyes. I didn't trust my voice at that moment so I smiled lovingly at him.

A few weeks had passed since I almost walked out of Colby's life. I honestly don't know if I would have stayed away for very long. Would we be where we are right now if what happened didn't happen? Probably not. I'd probably be too scared to admit anything to him and he wouldn't have realised how much I mean to him. So I guess I'm thankful for what happened.
Colby and I were walking through the tunnels that connected some of the building to each other. We were off to the Elizabeth Dafoe Library to get some studying done for our chemistry final. We would usually just go back to my place to study, but a few of our classmates decided to have study group. We went along because I guess ten heads is better than two ha ha ha.
The first floor of the library is always buzzing with conversation. It's a library but there's a Starbucks on the first floor so silence was hard to come by here. We head to the second floor where the Icelandic Reading Room was located. It was situated at the back of floor right by the sectioned and sealed air tight Archives were located. I had been in the library's archive room once before. We actually had to wear white gloves in order for us to not damage the papers of the ancient books.
So lucky for us, the reading room was completely empty. Other times when there are actually people in there, you can literally hear a pin drop. The room was completely panelled in beech wood on three wall and floor to ceiling windows on the fourth. Bookshelves also lined the walls. Small offices off to the side were completely visible being enclosed in glass. We sat down at one of the bigger tables and got right to it.
About an hour in, Colby's phone went off.
"Sorry guys, it's my dad, I have to take this." he was gone for a good while before returning.
"Hey, is everything okay?" I asked him quietly.
"Yeah, don't worry about it." he said smiling at me reassuringly. I wasn't completely convinced. His eyes were definitely telling me different. He must have seen my unconvinced expression. "You want to go back to your place and study there? That way I can tell you about the conversation."
"Okay." so we packed up, said our goodbyes and headed to my place.
"So...what did you dad say?" I said momentarily taking my eyes off the road to look at him.
"Oh it's nothing important really. Just that I'm stuck here with Brock's family for Christmas. My parents have surgeries during Christmas and they'll only be able to take half a day off at a time. They said that I should just stay here with my aunt and uncle. I don't want to be home alone for Christmas. Eric will be here with Brock for Christmas anyway. So I guess I might as well stay here."
"Oh. Well maybe you can come stay at my place once the break kicks in. You aunt and uncle do only live across the neighbourhood. I'm going back to work at my old job during the break so...I don't know, maybe it'd be fun if you'd join me? They're always hiring." I said. He sort of chuckled.
"You know, since I was sixteen, I've always wanted to get a job. My parents never let me though. So yes thank you, I'd love to join you." he said brightening up a bit. But his expression became serious again. "But I don't know about staying with you and your family."
"What? Why not?" I said a little too loudly.
"Well I don't want to be intruding or anything. I already feel like I'm intruding on my aunt and uncle even though I'm sure they'll be happy to have me and my brother."
"Have you seen how much my family loves you? Come on Colby. I promise you won't be intruding. Besides, my mom loves feeding you!" I said trying to cheer him up.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course I'm sure."
"Okay." he said smiling at me. "So your parents let you get a job at sixteen?"
"Yeah. But it was more like they forced it on me and my sister. They didn't want us to grow up having everything given to us. I honestly didn't like the idea at first but now I wouldn't have any other way. I think it helps me appreciate things that I have and how hard things have to be worked for."
"I think that's great. I wish my parents could see it that way. What is it that we'll be doing exactly?"
"We'll be waiters at a restaurant. I think you'll like it. It's called Bistro 8 ó."
Awesome! I'm actually really excited about this! It will take my mind off not being home with my parents. What kind of food is it? Do we get free food? When do we start?" I had to laugh.
"Whoa buddy. Slow down. It's like contemporary French cuisine, yes we get free food, and we'll probably start the night after our last exam if that's okay with you. Our exams end on the sixth of December so yeah. Oh and we'll have the week Christmas is off."
"Yeah that's okay with me! Oliver I'm really excited for this! It'll be my first job! I think having a job is important. You and I, we live such privileged lives, I'm glad your parents have a way of counter balancing that by making you work. I don't think I'd like you if you acted like a prissy spoiled brat." he said laughing.
"Well...I do like my expensive clothes. But I did buy that with my own money from my job." I said proudly. "And it gives me more money to spend on giving gifts to everyone on Christmas! I honestly would rather give gifts than receive them."
"Well, you better not take away the joy of me giving my first boyfriend a gift. Because I already know what I'm gonna get you."
"Of course not! Now that I think about it, I'm kinda excited to see what you're going to get me." I said as I pulled into my driveway. "I can't wait to go shopping for your gift." we got out of the car and headed in.
Okay guys I know I know, not the best chapter but it was needed. So I know not a lot of people read these blurbs at the end of my chapters so this offer is for you people who do read. You know that little phone call Colby got from his father? Well let's just say it's not so little. There was some very, very important information exchanged between father and son. Anyone who really wants to know exactly what was said, shoot me a line and I'll shoot you over the conversation. Think of this as a sort of hidden passage in a video game. This means it's not necessary to read the conversation. It will be told from Colby's point of view so you'll be able to see what it's like to be in Colby's head. Also let me know what you think! Critiques and comments are plenty welcome!
