Chapter Twelve

When I woke up, I did not feel the usual warmth of Zac. Jerking myself up, I saw Zac, with his hands covering his face, seated in a corner of the room. He looked up and sat on the bed when I called out to him.

"Hey baby. Awake so soon?"

Judging by his swollen eyes, I knew he must have cried. Not wanting to bruise his ego, I gave him a kiss and asked softly, "You are up early. Did you sleep well?"

He gave a quick nod and looked away.

"Zac, you can tell me anything and I won't judge you. But it hurts me when you try to shoulder everything by yourself. I'm your mate. Let me share your burden."

"Damn! I feel so useless. You were violated twice yesterday with me beside you. How can I ever forgive myself?" as he thrashed it out, tears were falling off his chiseled face.

Hugging him into a tight embrace, "My love, it's not your fault. Stop beating yourself up. Things happened for a reason. Nothing pains me more than to see you hurt like this. You are stronger than this. Pull yourself together.... I need you."

Licking his tears away, I said "Will this make you feel better?"

Biting on my lower lips, I asked suggestively "Or you want me to lick somewhere else?"

Zac smiled at last. Closing the gap between us, his lips found mine and I crooned under him. We were both lost in a sexual frenzy. There was no further foreplay, we both needed one another expeditiously. He lifted my legs to his shoulders and fucked me roughly using his spit as lube.

My ass was burning from the assault, but I wanted to feel the pain. I wanted his pain to be transferred to me. As he thrust faster and deeper into oblivion, I felt myself coming close to climax.

"Zac, I'm gonna cum... Fuck me harder! Arrghh" I grunted as I shot ropes of cum onto my chest and face.

"Ughh, yeah baby... FUCK... I'm cumming!!!!" Zac shouted as he coated my chute with his seed.

I pulled him down, allowing his body weight to press on me, smearing my cum between our chests. I needed him as he needed me.

"I love you Zac."

"I love you too."

Just as our lips were about to touch, Rick came knocking on the door.

"Zac, the tournament is starting soon. Or do you need another thirty minutes?" Rick was suppressing a laugh as he said it.

"*Grrrr You guys go ahead! We'll join shortly!" Zac mind blasted at Rick and I could hear Rick stumbled against the wall.

"Hey, play nice. He's just joking." I chided.

"Didn't mean to. I just sort of let it out."

"Buddy, are you alright?" Zac asked. But there was no reply.

"Oh shit." Zac muttered.

We got dressed quickly and opened the door. Rick was found lying on the floor, unconscious.

As I shook his body and checked for his pulse, I called "Rick... are you ok? Rick..."

"Arrrr.... my head.... " Rick moaned.

As he sat up, rubbing his forehead, he asked "What happened?"

"We were about to ask you. Did you remember what happen after Zac told you that we'll join you shortly?" I inquired.

"Oh yea, I remembered. Zac's message came to me as a blast. Like a hammer to my skull. The next thing I know, you are calling my name." Rick replied.

"Zac, I think it's your new ability. Please be careful when sending `mind message'. I wouldn't want to be the next one to be knocked out cold." I looked into Zac and said it with a serious tone.

"Ok, I'm sorry man. I didn't know I can do this." Zac replied.

Rick brushed himself up and said, "No harm done, bro. Come on, let's join the rest."

When we reached the audience area, the tournament was almost over. With the score updated on the information screen as Chippewa three (3), Gallatin zero (0).

"That was fast. We are only late for five minutes and it's over?" Zac exclaimed.

"Yes. Look carefully at the platform and you'll know why." Cid said pointing at the platform.

On the sparring platform stood two contenders, a grey wolf on the right and a bony human on the left. In between them, there were three lifeless bodies lying on the floor.

"It can't be. Are you saying that it's one against four?" I asked.

"Sure looked like it. He's doing it again." Zac said.

I turned my attention to the platform and saw the wolf charged angrily towards the human. Before it could even lay a paw on him, it was thrown backwards and there was a loud sickening crack. With four Gallatin pack members dead, the match ended with Chippewa as the winner. I wouldn't have believed it if I had not witnessed it myself.

As we drove back in silence, our mind was filled with the horror of the previous match. After reaching back at our base, I couldn't stifle my thoughts any longer.

"Damn it guys. Get a grip. Let's talk about it!" I shouted.

"Jus is right. Man, he's tougher than I thought." Zac laughed.

"Ok, let's get back into the house. Take a rest, be comfortable and let's strategise." Zac instructed.

As they walked into the house, I marched straight to the kitchen. "The boys must be hungry. And hungry wolves can't think." I thought and decided to cook something that will stimulate brain function.....

Lunch menu ---------------- Baked Salmon with Pumpkin Seed Crust with Hollandaise sauce Served with Broccoli and Walnut salad toss

After serving the food on plates on the dining table, I mind linked the guys to have their lunch. "Lunch is ready! Latecomers will not be entertained."

"Smells wonderful. Your new creation again?" Zac asked.

"Yes. And I name this Brain Booster Lunch Set." I announced proudly.

Seeing the smiles on their faces as they enjoyed my cooking made all my efforts worthwhile.

"Ready guys? Why don't we discuss it here? The room is a bit small now."

"Ready as you are, boss." Jerome answered.

"We need to analyze before putting up a plan. Cid, with your mind abilities, are you able to explain in detail how that Chippewa pulled that stunt?" Zac asked.

"I didn't sense any mind abilities at work. It baffled me as well." Cid replied.

"I can." Kasmir squeaked, raising his hand in the air.

"Time. As you can see, the counter-attack happened when the wolf was near him. If he was that powerful, he wouldn't have allowed the wolf to charge. I could see it clearly that time slowed down within a meter radius emanating from the Chippewa member while he was able to move at normal were-speed. You guys can't see it because you are not accustom to speed. But I can." Kasmir explained. We were all impressed as Kasmir provided a simple solution.

"If time is on his side, that means all physical attacks are futile. Therefore, we can safely deduce that his weakness is mind abilities. He will not be able to react if the mind attack was initiated outside of his ability area."

"Fantastic! We are truly blessed to have you in our team." Zac praised.

I could see in Shamir's eyes that he was proud of his little brother.

"So this just proves a theory. There isn't an ability so powerful that it's invincible. When there's poison, there's an antidote. That's the reason why a team of seven was called forth by Mother. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, but when we work together as a team, we get stronger. And nothing is impossible." I thought in my mind

"Well said! But we are a team of eight, baby. You have to include yourself. You bear the sign too." Zac commented, smiling.

"Shit! Did I think out loud again?" I asked.

Everyone nodded and we all laughed together.

The guys went back to training in the afternoon. Cid was helping Zac to improve his mind blast in one corner. Kasmir and Shamir were showing Jerome and Rick on some martial arts techniques. Bart was doing his revised circuit training and I was so tired from recent events that I dozed off on the couch.

"Hear me, my child...."

"Mother."

"Be forgiving. People are not always what they seemed. Children learn and mimic their parents when they are young. So if you see wrongdoings of that person, think about their parents too."

"I understand. Can I know when will our abilities show? Why do I have the mark too? What can I do?"

"All in good time my little prince. All in good time."

"Hmm....Can you tell me more about this Omega, whom I'll be facing? No one seems to have an idea on why he's bent on destroying the world."

"Knowledge comes with a price. Sometimes it unveils a hidden scar."

"I'm prepared. Please tell me." I pleaded.

"It happened a long time ago, when Mayatitus brought forward evolution on Gaia, there was peace and joy. I was the Queen and you my little prince. There was no need for governance for everyone knew only love. The Mayatitus are all interlinked via energy attachment, similar to atoms attaching to one another. When two Mayatitus have immediate attachments, they are known as soulmate. Some of us has a single attachment, others maybe more. You were known as Torin then and you had a soulmate. He was called Cody. Both of you were inseparable and the love you shared was strong. But there was an accident.

When we created the were-species, we needed volunteers to leave the human host and meld with the genetically-engineered beast host. The first were-species is what we know now as werewolf. You took it upon yourself and wanted to be the first test subject. Cody was reluctant, but you went ahead believing it's to serve a higher purpose.

The melding had complications, and the beast died. However, something unexpected happened. We noticed your energy reading (soul) was still trapped within the beast. Tests were carried out and we realised the dead beast's tissues were evolving.

Cody was depressed without you and was fuming when he knew you were trapped inside the beast. He sought my help to stop the experiments and get you out. I declined for we were so close to getting our answers and I couldn't let you sacrifice in vain. In the end, he did the unthinkable. He committed suicide thinking that he could release himself from the human host to join you.

Theoretically it was possible. With our abilities, we were able to select our new host when the current one dies. Yet the cosmic law of cause and effect set in. One event led to another. When we died an unnatural death like committing suicide, the energy attachment would be distorted. It resulted in the temporary loss of special abilities and permanent change of mating attachment for the surviving half. You were technically still alive in the beast, hence your mating attachment was altered.

When Cody regained his abilities and realized he had lost you forever, he was distraught. He couldn't accept the consequences of his action. As he went deeper and deeper into despair, his capacity for love reduced as his hatred for the Mayatitus increased. After many lifetimes of reborn, he managed to gain enough knowledge and power for mass destruction. He wanted the world reset, thinking that the energy attachment will be reset as well. His obsession turned him to who he is today, Omega."

"Jus, wake up. Are you ok?" Zac asked.

My tears continued to fall as I wake. When I saw Zac, I pulled him tight and cried in his arms.

"Hey baby, what's wrong? I felt your pain earlier and when I rushed to your side, you were crying." Zac asked as he strokes my head lovingly.

"How would you feel, if you have no choice but to kill me one day?" I said between my sobs.

"If I really do that, I will never be able to forgive myself." Zac responded immediately.

"I guess, I can understand now. I understand why I had to go through so much pain and suffering. Because I couldn't forgive myself."

"What are you talking about?"

By then, the rest of the pack had surrounded me and I told them what I knew.

"Holy shit!" Rick commented.

"So basically, you would repeat the cycle of pain and suffering till you meet Zac and kill Omega again? This is crazy!" Jerome blurted.

"Baby, this has to stop. Did you ask Mother how we can end this cycle?" Zac asked.

"I was waken up before I could. I'll try asking next time." I had finally managed to regain my composure and decided to retire early. I told Zac, I will be fine and he could join me in bed when he's done.

As I laid down on the bed, a voice rang in my head, "Torin... My precious Torin....Soon..."

--------- End of Chapter ----------

Writer's note:

So you see? Not all evil were evil to begin with. When we lose the ability to love, we do nasty things. When we see bullies, haters, gay bashers, or bad guys in general, we must pity them. For they've no love within them or simply lost their capacity to love.

And guys, death is never the ultimate solution. It takes a second of courage to kill yourself, but a lifetime of bravery to live on. Let us be the warrior and fighter in life! Oorah!

Should you have any requests or suggestions, let me know. (I'll try but can't promise anything.) My timezone is GMT+8. I may not be able to reply immediately but I will surely reply ASAP. So keep the mails coming!

Till then. Cheers.
