They were dead. He was alive. He could not believe what he saw before his eyes. Shot in the head, he could not do much, lifeless bodies that were very much dead. Brad eyed his assailant, cautiously now, in the darkness of the night trying to escape from this madness.
Brad once had a family, but not anymore. Just a visit to the washroom allowed him to escape from his tragedy.
'Find him! He's bound to be in here somewhere. We can't afford an illegal to escape.' A commanding tone reverberated throughout the makeshift home.
That was Brad's cue, he had to react fast. Looking around he saw an opening, to the outside world of rundown metropolitan C36. There was no time to think, he just had to jump. Hoping for the best, he took the leap of faith...
'90...80...70...60...' Brad counted in his head as he fell from the 100th floor.
Suddenly, he broke his fall midair. Fearing the worst, Brad slowly craned his head down. Looks like it was Brad's lucky day, it was not the enforcers. What he saw instead was another shocked pair of eyes.
Under the faint moonlight, Brad could see the shocked pair of eyes belonged to a silhouette of what resembled another boy like himself. The ship slid open and Brad fell in safely onto a seat.
'What are you doing? It's not everyday I see a young fellow like yourself jump down from such a tall building.' A deep voice pierced through the darkness.
'Step on it, we need to go fast!' Brad practically screamed.
'What are we running from again?'
'Enforcers.'
A spotlight soon shone on their ship.
'Get out of the ship now! Resisting arrest will lead to further charges!'
But Brad knew he would be shot on sight too. No arrest, no further charges, for he was an illegal The Federation did not tolerate.
'Well you've put me into a tight spot, okay let's go.'
Stepping on the accelerator, the ship zipped up into the sky. Like a dancing flamingo, the ship elegantly moved, left right left right, spinning in the sky with ease. Eventually the ship lost the enforcers' tail.
'This boy, no, man has some skill.' Brad noted as he looked to the man he previously underestimated to be a boy maneuvering the ship on his right.
