Rick and I stood in shock at the sight before us. Cameron standing there completely drunk with a look of rage in his eyes and he just looked ready to kill. He walked in the open door towards us. We back away. It went on like this until he got halfway into the house.
"Cameron, why don't you put the Jack Daniels down and we'll talk?" Rick took a cautious step forward and put his hands up. Cam backed away, took the bottle, and smashed it against a table. He held the jagged end in front of him. I grabbed Rick by his shirt and pulled him back.
"Don't tell me what to fucking do. For the last two days, I've been trying to talk to Justin and you won't let me. This is none of your business Rick. It's between me and Justin now." He took a step forward and Rick pushed me behind him, since he was so much bigger and strong than I was. Cam took a step forward and we took a step back.
Rick tried to calm him down again, but he attempted to take a swing at Rick with the bottle. Rick dodged it and came back to me, making sure I was safe.
"Cam, come on. You can't do this. Please, calm down and let us just talk about this."
"NO! I love Justin more than you ever will and you can't just take him from me!" He approached us again and Rick took a brave step forward. I tried to pull him back, but he brushed my hand away. He walked towards Cameron with the intent of making sure that bottle didn't end up hurting someone.
As Rick got closer and closer to Cam, he lunged at Rick with the bottle in front of him. Rick jumped to the left, landing on his feet and grabbing Cam's arm. He twisted as far as he could. Cam moaned in pain and dropped the bottle, causing it to break into a million tiny pieces of glass.
Out of nowhere, Cameron kicked Rick in the shin and they faced each other. I stepped forward, but Rick pushed me back.
"No Justin! I don't want you to get hurt. Just let me handle this!"
Cam leapt towards Rick and they collided. Rick and Cam had each other in wrestler's hold, so they could only move in a circle so they didn't let go of each other. They pulled apart and Rick grabbed Cam by the waist, lifting him in the air. Cam struggled and he kicked Rick in the back of the head, causing Rick to fall do the ground and Cam went down with him.
I screamed Rick's name as he went down. I wanted to run forward, but my feet were frozen to the floor. I wanted to rush to Rick's aid, be by his side and comfort him. But I couldn't. I could only watch.
Cam took his opportunity with Rick on the ground to end up on top of the fight. He kicked Rick hard in the side, causing his body to come up a little. Cam kicked him again and again and again until he decided Rick had enough. And the entire time, all I could do was watch.
Cam stood over Rick's body, which lay limp on the floor. He looked down and laughed in triumph and spit on Rick's back. He had knocked Rick unconscious and kicked him while he was down. To me, he wasn't the winner -- he was the loser and a jerk for what he did. But to him, he was the winner.
Cam started to walk over to me and I tried to back away. But I still couldn't. I was in total shock and was glued to the floor. He leaned in close to my face and traced the outline of my jaw with his finger. He used his other hand to run his fingers through my hair. I tried to pull away or move my head, but he grabbed my hair and turned my head toward him.
"Seems you belong to me now, Justin. I don't know what you were doing going to Rick -- I kicked his ass with no effort. You should have stayed with me Justin. I don't like to lose."
I spit in his face and he shook his head. "I won't ever be yours. I'm not an object and I sure as hell don't belong to you -- especially if you are embarrassed of me." He smiled and shook his head.
"You're messing with the wrong guy, Justin." He grabbed my hair, turned my head, and kissed me hard. I tried to fight it, but he was stronger than I was. The kiss was stopped halfway when he opened his eyes wide and fell over.
I opened my eyes and found Rick standing there with a yearbook in his hands. He had crawled from the spot on the floor and grabbed it without Cam knowing and used it to knock him unconscious.
"Rick!" I ran forth to hug him and he winced in pain. I helped him up and walked him over to the couch. I told him to lie down and I ran into the kitchen. I got a couple ice packs and put one behind Rick's head and one on either side of his stomach, where Cam had kicked him. Once Rick was settled I dragged Cam to the other couch and laid him on his stomach. I got another ice pack and placed it where Rick had hit him.
I ran back to Rick's side and kneeled next to him. For the next two hours, I was at his side holding his hand until he felt like he could walk and I made sure he didn't have a concussion. Once he could, I helped him to his bedroom and stripped him to his boxers. He got under the covers and I followed, and he wrapped his arms around me. I close my eyes and started to fall asleep cuddled up next to Rick, the man who fought for me and protected me. As I began to drift off to sleep, I heard Rick move closer to me and he whispered in my ear, "I love you Justin."
The End!
