Bite Down 9
Chapter 9: Submission
Fang and Naomi aren't even human any longer. Torn clothing liters on the floors of the dining hall. Professor Timus and Amina book it. They are out of the room before the conversion to wolf is complete. I can see the fear in their eyes.
Fang and Naomi have a different emotion. Anger. They are wolves.
Their eyes glare at me. My heart races as all I feel is fear.
I shuffle away from the table as if it would make a difference. I shuffle so fast and furious until I hit the wall with a hard thud that cracks my shoulder blades. In front of me they glare. Fang has jumped on the table.
“Don't do this,” a warning comes forth.
I'm not sure who says it. Is it Timus from another room? Is it Walid? Does it matter? The wolves aren't listening. Naomi takes a step forward. She isn't looking in my eyes. She's looking at my neck. There isn't any sense of consequence in their eyes. Just bright eyes with anger and distrust. They hated me and they were planning on doing something about it. NOW!
It's begun before I know it.
Fang runs across the table. He lunges. My heart races. I kick off the wall. It may be the speed of the wolf or it just may be the desperation of Nasir. I don't know. I'm on the floor now, kicking across it as fast as I can.
Naomi jumps in the air. She jumps so high that she disappears in the shadows of the vaulted sealing.
Fang is after me. No matter what I can’t shake him. There’s a scream. I don’t know where it comes from. There’s so many things happening at once and the only thing that I can think of is get out of there. They aren’t trying to scare me. They are trying to get rid of me once and for all.
I’m in the living room before I know it.
The wolf is coming out of me. Maybe it’s coming out from fear. I’m not sure. But just as I’m transforming I see the golden wolf staring back at me. Naomi is bearing her teeth. Her muzzle expands. She stares me down. Her ears turn back at that moment.
I can die today.
Everything can end right now!
She’s after me!
It happens almost immediately right when Naomi lunges at me. I can feel her hot breath as her jaws expands. She’s about to bite my face off and I’m defenseless. I’m halfway through transformation into my own wolf but it doesn’t matter at that point. She snaps but something grabs her by the neck.
It’s him…
She let’s out a yelp as Walid grabs her by her neck. He’s still in human form. He grabs her almost like someone would grab a puppy though. He manhandles her. I watch in shock still scared for my life as he flings her across the room like discarded food. She hits the wall behind him.
It’s not over. Just as that happens to Naomi, Fang is after me.
I think it’s too late for Walid to help me. I make a run for it again. By now fur has covered my hands and feet but the clothing I have on right at that moment don’t rip easily. They seem to be contracting my transformation. Finally my shirt rips. The pants I have on are next. I’m naked and transitioning. In the next few seconds I’m a wolf. I’m faster now.
As a wolf Fang snaps at me. I snap back. I am first wondering where Walid is but at the same time I don’t think I really care. He must be dealing with Naomi. Maybe that’s where he is. Maybe he has abandoned me to deal with Fang alone. I don’t know. I don’t have time to find out.
He snaps again. He’s only inches away from my ankles. He backs me up into a corner. He snarls. Spit and saliva ooze from his mouth. His gigantic fangs are glaring at me. He’s the biggest wolf in the pack besides Walid. Unlike Naomi his ears are forward. His tail is held straight out and my wolf realizes this is an aggressive stance. My wolf is scared and so am I. I’m backed into a corner. No where to go. I growl. Fang doesn’t seem to be afraid. He manages to snap again and luckily I bite him. The bite doesn’t effect him though. He shakes it off and throws me to the ground I make only a few inches before I realize that as Fang’s wolf reaches out to bite me. I’m not fast enough. I’m never fast enough. The larger more experienced wolf luckily is taken down by another.
Walid.
“I told you not to do this!” He says.
Walid tries to restrain his brother's wolf in a choke hold. It's hard to hold him and so Walid does something I'm shocked by. Walid BITES the wolf. He bites Fang right around his neck after basically tossing himself onto Fang and subduing the wolf. Mind you, Walid is still in human form. His brother seems more shocked then hurt by this.
That is when Walid start's to change. His teeth are still clenched into Fang, but as he transforms his teeth are getting sharper and sharper.
Fang struggles to get up, but as Walid changes his teeth are clenching harder and harder into fang.
I can hear a voice...the voice of Fang fill my head from his wolf essence, “Mercy...”
I can see why he's calling for mercy. Walid is changing to a wolf. He still has Fang pinned down but now blood is dripping from Fang's neck. The wolf is struggling to no avail. He can't come up from underneath Walid's weight. Walid bites down. His handsome human face is growing the white fur. His teeth are getting larger and larger. Blood is dripping more and more.
The pressure is causing Fang's wolf to squirm in pain.
“Walid mercy...”
I turn behind me. It is Naomi. Her body is bruised and battered. She is naked. She is back in human form. She is bowed down and looks desperate. She's pleading for Walid.
Walid ignores her...his teeth are growing.
He'll kill Fang. I know it. Walid knows it. Fang knows it.
Walid isn't letting up though. His transformation is slow intentional. It's almost as though he wants Fang to suffer underneath Walid's mutating jaw line. He's becoming the wolf.
I don't know what gets into me. I don't know what makes me cross the room at that moment and begin to pet Walid. I put my hand on his head. The white wolf is surprised by it and his aggressive eyes turn to me. Then I see it though. I see his eyes soften.
“Enough Walid...” I tell him, “No more.
It's at that moment I realize just how far Walid would go for power. It seems to pain him to release Fang. He does release Fang though. Walid's mouth is dripping with Fang's blood. He's standing there, half human/half wolf. I watch with nothing but complete reverence of Walid's sheer force and power. He slowly walks from the room and by the time he leaves the room I can see nothing but his reverse mutation back into the strong powerful man.
Fang is sitting in the room. His tail in between his legs in complete submission. It isn't until Walid leaves the room that Fang dares to change back.
He lays on the floor, clutching himself and protecting his privates. He just stares up at me. There is a look a confusion and still a slight sense of distaste.
I know he won't attack me again though. I'm sure of it after what I've seen today.
“Why did you save me?” he asks me.
He's not the only one who wants to know the answer to that. Naomi is nude, her left hand covering her breasts on the other side of the room.
“There's been enough killing,” I tell him.
It's the only thing I can think about.
The house is quiet. I think everyone is getting over how Walid just crushed Fang's uprising in HUMAN form. He didn't even need to transition into a wolf. It showed a true amount of power. I guess it made me feel even weak. Hell I think everyone felt weak after that though. None of us had anything on Walid and it was becoming clear.
By night time, I realize I couldn't sleep no matter how many warm showers I took or how much milk I drank from the fridge.
I need to talk to him.
“Walid?”
I'm knocking on the door. It's in the middle of the night. He's naked. He smells fresh. I have no doubt that he just took a shower. He's staring out of the window at the mountains surrounding us. He knows I'm there but he doesn't respond right away.
It isn't until I close his door and take a few steps into Walid's room that he responds.
“I'm a monster.”
I'm confused. Walid stares back at me. He's emotionless.
“Why do you say that?”
“I was seconds away from killing him. You know that right?” he tells me.
I nod at that moment. Walid isn't showing emotion. It's not that kind of conversation. It's almost more like he came to an understanding of himself. He doesn't seem to feel bad about it though. He just seems to know what he was capable of doing.
“I won't lie,” I reply to him crossing my arms, “I assumed you were going to kill Fang too. I can't sit there and say I didn't think you were going to listen to me.”
“The wolf wants what it wants. It wanted blood. I can't control it. Maybe that's what makes me so much stronger than the others. Maybe that's why I'm alpha. I give in to the wolf so willingly. Not like you. You can resist it.”
“Resist?” I laugh, “Is that what you think I was doing?”
“You showed restraint today.”
“Boy if I could have turned into a wolf I would have,” I stated shaking my head, “I was stuck mid mutation and not like you. It's not because I wanted to.”
He laughs. I don't mean to entertain him but I guess I'm happy that I can put a smile on his face. He turns back to me. The moonlight is reflecting off of his naked body. Hair casts small shadows over his broad chests. His dick is swaying as he turns. It flops over between his legs like a third leg. Even in a state of comfort Walid is so powerful looking.
“Were you afraid of me?” he asked.
“No. I wasn't. I feel like you did that to protect me. You've always been protecting me.”
“Yeah. The wolf wants you too.”
I laugh.
“Is that right?”
He nods, “And so do I?”
He makes aggressive walk towards me. I'm sure Walid is about to pick me up throw me on the bed and fuck the shit out of me like he always does. He lifts me up and immediately I stare him in his eyes.
“Slow...gentle...this time,” I tell him.
“What? I don't know how to fuck like that.”
I'm really speaking another language to him.
“Then let's not fuck...let's just cuddle.”
Walid raises an eyebrow, “You're joking right? Look down. What do you see...”
“You're hard.”
“Exactly. I'm about to fuck the shit out of you. You can cuddle the pillow when I'm done. You'll need that pillow cause I'm fitting tear that ass up...”
“Walid!”
He looks at me. I can tell he's resistant. He takes a deep breath all of a sudden.
That is when Walid looks over at the bed. I think he's going to throw me on there and wrestle me down but he doesn't! Walid slowly and gently places me on the bed. He lays me on the pillow at that moment. He's so gentle that I can feel like I'm being moved by the air.
Walid then lays next to me. His broad arms cross over me. He pushes his chest up against me. He lifts my entire body as though I weigh the same as a paperweight. He adjusts my body next to him. He turns me at that moment, harder than he probably wanted to but then lays me up against his chest again gently. I cuddle up on top of him now. I'm barely even touching the bed.
I'm laying directly on Walid...every part of me is nestled somehow on this broad sexy giant.
“Sleep...” he commands me...
And I obey my alpha. And I go to sleep with Walid not realizing that Walid is breaking all of his rules for me. Walid is sleeping next to someone else.
There is a knock on the door the next morning. Walid is cuddled up on top of me. For someone who doesn't sleep with other people normally, he's extremely uncomfortable. His body is acting like a prison to mine.
“Walid, someone's at the door...”
He grunts a little manly, reaches down and scratches his balls. His eyes don't move. I attempt to wake him up a second time but it's no good. I have to admit, even with his enormous size and his enslaving muscles he looks so innocent when he's asleep. He's beyond cute. I can't help but to reach over and kiss him on his lips gently. It must tickle his nose because Walid twitches it. He's still asleep though and I'm pretty sure it'll take a hurricane to wake him up at this point.
Luckily I manuever my way from underneath him, sliding through a gap and hole in his body. He quickly reaches out for me almost reactionary to pull me back. Luckily he misses though and I'm out of his grasp.
I make it to the door and open it. I have nothing but underwear on.
It's the Professor. He looks over at me.
“I was actually coming to see Walid,” he responds before peaking into the room, “But I'm assuming he's worn out...”
“Not in the way that you think,” I reply.
I know what the Professor is thinking. He's probably thinking Walid had sex with me all night and now he can't wake up because he's so tired. If the Professor knew anything about Walid, I'm sure that is what he came up with.
Timus reacts as though he doesn't believe me and shrugs, “Not my business. Listen. Maybe you can help. Someone's at the door that shouldn't be at the door.”
“How can I help?”
“Because he's asking for you.”
I'm surprised but I throw on a shirt and follow Professor Timus down the grand staircase. I'm close behind him. As we get to the bottom of the staircase I notice Naomi. She's doesn't stare back at me. She lowers her head as I walk.
“What's that about?” I ask.
“A sign of submission,” he responds, “Walid adopted you into the pack yesterday. Remember?”
“Yeah...”
He nods, “Well he's also treating you like his mate lately. That makes you and Walid the Alpha couple.”
“I'm far from an Alpha. I'm the newest wolf. I'm the smallest wolf...”
Professor Timus shrugs, “It doesn't matter. You have Walid. Strength is everything. None of us have ever seen Walid favor someone as much as you. We aren't humans. We don't need marriage. The fact that he defends against members of his own pack put you above us. Trust me. It's better than being at the bottom like I am.”
“You're at the bottom?” I ask.
“Omega wolf,” Professor Timus explains, “In a world where power rules everything, brains don't really matter much. Now do they?”
I almost feel bad for the professor as he says that but I know that he's really right. I'm not saying Walid is dumb but I know there is no way in hell he's smarter than Professor Timus. I know Walid is stronger though. Walid is more physical. He seems like a top rank athlete even in his human form. His wolf however is something amazing and fearful. Power was all that mattered with wolves. Timus could know everything about wolf culture from here to Timbuktu. It wouldn't matter. Power made you an alpha.
As Timus explains this to me I come to the realization that if Walid didn't “favor” me, I'd probably be the Omega wolf. I'd probably be at the bottom of the pack. It makes sense now why Naomi and Fang were upset with me. It made sense why they resented the relationship that Walid and I were building.
I just jumped above them just because Walid liked fucking me the most.
The door is buzzing.
“Hold on!” the professor calls out.
When we get to the door, the professor opens it. I'm shocked and appalled by who is standing there.
“Evan?”
His white pasty face is flushed red. He has on a heavy coat that seems to be swallowing him hole. The only part of his body that isn't covered in thick clothing is his face. His lips are a little blue. I wonder how long he's been out in the cold like this.
“I knew you were here?”
“How'd you find me?”
“It's not important. I need to talk to you...in private,” he explains.
I notice Evan is saying that now because Professor Timus is standing there. Timus gives Evan a stare that causes Evan to take a step back. It's suspicious how Evan does it. When I give Timus a look though he lowers his head. Submission. I can get used to it. Timus goes back into the house as though reading my intentions and he closes the door behind him.
“Evan you can't be here,” I tell him, “Shouldn't you be home for the holidays?”
Evan shakes his head, “I had to I find you. I heard about this place. Local legend. I knew he'd take you up on the top of this hill. So I had to come find you man. I had to warn you.”
“Warn me?”
Evan's eyes get wide. He is breathing heavy. I can hear it with my wolf ears. I can almost smell the fear. It stinks. The wolf inside of me is clearly starting to separate wolf from human now. I have never before noticed how weak and fragile Evan looks.
“Walid. The day before you left...I saw him out...walking in the snow naked. The cold didn't effect him. He walked right to cabin. So I traced his footsteps trying to figure out where he went. But soon his footprints disappeared.”
“Evan, people's footprints don't disappear.”
“Exactly. You know what I found instead Nasir? You want to know?” he asks me before breathing heavy a few times in the most dramatic fashion, “I found paw prints.”
“Maybe he was walking a dog.”
“Those pawprints were bigger than a dog. They were bigger than a wolf. Nasir. I don't think Walid is who you think he is...”
Evan is smart. He's caught on. Little does he know his warning is far too late. I've already been bitten. I was already one of them. I'm glad that Walid was asleep. The Professor would have alerted him. God knows what Walid would have done to Evan all the way up on this mountain top. They were expecting Evan at home. Walid could have easily killed Evan. He WOULD have killed him too. I was sure about it. Walid wasn't the type to be scared about doing what he had to do. He said it himself. He was a monster.
So I laugh. I'm trying to fake it. I'm trying to make Evan think he's going crazy, “Evan. You're not suggesting that Walid is---”
“A werewolf.”
Suddenly the door opens up. It's Professor Timus standing there.
“Would you like to come in?” Professor Timus asks Evan, “It's freezing outside. I'm sure the two of you can continue your talk inside.”
Evan doesn't respond. He just looks at Timus. I wonder if he's trying to figure out why a professor is here. Evan doesn't say anything to him though. He's afraid and he has every reason to be.
“He was just leaving,” I tell him.
God knows why the Professor wants him in the house.
Evan stares at me, “Come with me...”
I can see the fear in his eyes. I can see the panic. He should be afraid. And if he was smart he'd be afraid of me too. Walid was a monster...but so was I.
“Have a safe trip back down the mountain Evan,” I reply.
Evan hesitates but he walks away. It may be the Professor standing there making him nervous that causes him to leave so quickly. The professor and I watch from the door as Evan gets in his car and takes off as if someone was chasing him.
The professor shakes his head, “Stupid human. He has no idea he just walked into the wolf's den.”
It is at that point I know that the Professor was able to hear the conversation between Evan and I. My hearing had improved ever since I was bitten so I assumed that an older wolf like the Professor probably could hear just as well. He easily was able to hear the fact that Evan was onto us.
I take a few deep breaths, “Are you going to tell Walid?”
He knows what Walid would want to do if he knew Evan discovered his secret. It scares me as I look over at the professor just wondering.
He shakes his head luckily, “I don't tell Walid everything.”
I sigh. Relieved.
“Thank you.”
“Don't thank me yet,” the professor responds, “There is something else that I haven't told Walid. Something else that you should probably know.”
I look at the professor. He has a grimace on his face. He crosses past me and makes his way into the snow. I'm confused when he does that but he stares back at me. He wants me to follow him. It's clear he does even though he doesn't say a word.
“Where are we going?”
“Don't be afraid---I'm just an Omega wolf after all.”
We walk longer than I expected into the snow and down a mountain trail. The woods are getting thicker and thicker. I wonder if it's faster for me to transform but I went back to the house and put some warmer clothing on. It's some nice jeans and a winter coat. I don't want to end up ripping outfit as well. This wolf thing was being extremely detrimental to my fashion. All my clothes seemed to end up shredded in one way or another.
So I follow the Professor in human form.
He seems so knowledgable and talkative.
“Did you know wolves don't make good guard dogs?” the professor asks me, “Naturally they are afraid of the unknown and tend to hide rather than bark or confront.”
I'm wondering if he brought me all the way out here for one of his lessons.
“I can't imagine Walid hiding.”
He laughs at that moment, “Exactly. Walid is...brunt...and stupid at times.”
I'm surprised he's talking about Walid in this way.
“He's brave also and strong,” I explain to the professor.
I don't know why I'm standing up for Walid. It's natural. Maybe it's the fact that I really do like him. I know what the professor is suggesting. He's probably right. Everyone has their bad side though and I don't mind Walid's bad side. I actually like how crude he is at times. I like the fact that he's such a fucking man's man.
“That's not always the smartest thing to do,” the professor explains, “See...wolves are supposed to hide. Look how easy it was for Evan to figure out what Walid was. He could care less. He's not careful. Do you know how rare werewolves are?”
I shake my head, “No...but I'm sure you'll tell me.”
I dislike how the professor is talking so much trash on Walid and using his stupid facts to back up all this shit talking. It's almost like he thinks I'm going to join in. I doubt he would ever say half of this shit to Walid's face, but the Omega sure grew some balls when Walid wasn't around.
“Very rare. Werewolf trials led to thousands of executions during the 1600s. Most of these people were innocent, but some were like us. Werewolves, like Walid...the pure, strong, brutal manly ones lead us to the brink of extinction.”
“Shouldn't werewolves be like that?” I ask realizing the woods getting deeper and darker around us, “Strong and brutal.”
“If we are meant to survive, then we should adapt. We need to do a better job of hiding. I've spent a long time researching ways to hide from humans. Hide our transformations. Even hide our smells. We are as much wolves as we are humans. If we want to survive we need to be smart. We need to change.”
“I don't think Walid is changing anytime soon.”
He could save all his lessons and his education. Walid was who he was. He was simple and basic. He wanted to eat, fuck and hunt. That was a werewolf.
The professor looks over at me and finally stops walking, “I know. He isn't. It's a shame isn't it...”
It was making sense now. At first I thought the professor was bringing me out here so that I could talk to Walid about something. That wasn't the case. I was understanding why the professor was bringing me out here. He wanted to talk away from Walid.
I shake my head.
“I'm not turning against Walid,” I let the professor know.
“You have no loyalty to him. He didn't bite you,” a voice in the woods say, “I did.”
I barely hear him walking. He's so quiet. I can't even smell him. He's masking his scent. I know who it is though. It's Mayorga. Mayorga is walking towards me crunching on the snow. I remember now seeing the professor and Mayorga speaking before. The silent boy is dressed in black, in human form. He is so silent. I can see why the professor would like him if he the professor was all about werewolves “hiding”. It was so hard to keep up with Mayorga. He's hidden from the pack for such a long time now. At times, right in plain sight...
I turn to the professor, “You're a traitor.”
He shakes his head, “I'm doing what I need to do to survive. I'm trying to find someone who would make a better Alpha for our pack.”
I look over at the Mayorga. I remember his wolf was big but he was no where near as fierce as Walid. Walid would destroy him in a matter of seconds. The professor should have been smart enough to realize that.
I can almost laugh at the professor right now, “And you think Mayorga is it? You think Mayorga can challenge Walid?”
It's laughable really. I'm laughing in the snow but in the silence I realize I'm not laughing alone. At first I think it's Mayorga or the professor. But it isn't.
Then I think it's an echo. The laugh sounds so similar to mine.
I realize it isn't an echo too once I stop laughing and the laughing continues. It's someone else.
Someone just as quiet as Mayorga.
But just as fierce as Walid.
“Hey brother.”
I'm looking at the spitting image of my father, except younger walking the snowy path. His chest lifted up in the way that I always used to remember him when we were kids. My brother is here in front of me. He's more than just alive. He looks better than I've ever remembered him. He's bigger. Stronger.
“Qadir...”
