 Last time:

After a few minutes, Lance lifted himself up off and out of me and rolled over to my side.

"That was the most incredible thing I've ever felt."

I just lay there and blushed.

"I mean it, I felt such a love for you that I never experienced before with anyone else."

I sighed, and rolled on to my side to look at him better. "I love you more than anything Lance, don't you ever forget that." With that we fell asleep in each other's arms.

And now on to Chapter Twelve!

**

We slept the night in each other arms. I woke up around 7:45 and laid there watching Lance sleep in my arms. He looked like an angel with his golden hair on the top of his sweet looking face. His mouth was slightly open as his chest heaved up and down with each breath he took. I sat there for over an hour just watching him sleep, memorizing every contour of his face and body. After a while a rumble started coming from my stomach. I slowly made my way out of the bed and into the kitchen to fix some breakfast for us. I didn’t know what he liked to eat for breakfast so I ended up fixing just about everything. By the time I was done I had made pancakes, two ham and cheese omelets, sausage, toast, cereal, a bunch of fruit, orange juice and some coffee. I walked back in to the bedroom and Lance was still fast asleep, I leaned over and kissed him on the forehead. He mumbled something unintelligible, smiled and rolled on to his side. I could see his eyes dancing under their lids as he dreamed. It looked like he would be asleep for a while.

Kiwi, on the other hand, was wide-awake and a little anxious. So I put on a pair of sweats and grabbed the leash and took Kiwi out for his walk. It was a typical summer morning, the sun was out, and golfers were out on the golf course that my apartment over looked and several joggers passed me along the canal. I didn’t think much about what was going on around me as I walked along the edge of the canal, I kept thinking about what I was going to do for work. I knew I had enough saved up to live off of for about four months, maybe five if I really tightened my expenses. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to afford to visit Lance for a while after he left. "Two days left with him, then I won’t know when I’ll get to be with him again." I mumbled out loud to myself.

"Things will work out and you’ll see him soon enough." A voice said behind me, startling me and causing me to jump and loose my balance as I started to fall into the canal. As I hit the chilled water I saw that Lonnie had jogged up from behind me. Thankfully he managed to grab hold of Kiwi and his end of the leash so that he didn’t fall in the canal with me.

"Jeez, scare a guy why don’t you!" I said to Lonnie as he helped me out of the canal.

Lonnie snickered "Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you."

"It’s okay. I was just lost in my thoughts and wasn’t expecting anyone to come up from behind."

Lonnie just smiled as he took Kiwi’s leash from me and handed me the jogging towel he had draped around his shoulders. "You know you’ve got some pretty good reflexes there, you’d make a good bodyguard. Although," he chuckled, "most bodyguards don’t go falling into canals."

"Funny." I said as I dried myself off with the towel though I didn’t bother with my lower legs, as Kiwi was busy licking off the water for me.

"Lance still sleeping?"

"Yea, I woke up early, laid there in bed for a while, then got hungry and fixed some breakfast, but Kiwi needed to go out."

"Ah, thought so, I smelled the cooking as I started out for my jog, smelled like you cooked up enough chow for a small army."

"Well I kinda didn’t know what he likes so I went with a little bit of everything. Say, have you eaten?" Lonnie shook his head no. "Good, why don’t you come up and have some of chow?"

"Well we usually don’t eat with the boys."

"Don’t think of it as eating with the boys, you’re my guest this time. Besides, it can be a small thank you for being so flexible with the sudden changes I caused in yours and Lance’s schedule."

"It’s no bother, its actually kind of nice, right now I’d be cooped up in a bus with a bunch of the other guards, so the guest apartment is a nice change. Besides, I think you’re just what Lance needs. I’ve never seen him as happy as he was last night. That alone is worth a little change in schedule."

I smiled at him not knowing what to say after that and we started to walk back to my apartment.

"Anyway, like I said earlier, things will work out I’m sure. Lance really cares for you and if there’s one thing, it’s that Lance will always work hard for what he wants and cares for. He’s done it with the group and I know he’ll do it with you."

"Yea, I picked up on that. Hey Lonnie, who would I need to talk to about seeing if there are any job openings with you guys?"

Lonnie stopped for a second. "You’re not wanting to quit your job for Lance are you? He won’t take well to that."

"No I’m not doing that." I went on to explain to him how I lost my job. How I would be okay for a few months but that I wouldn’t be able to visit Lance like I had wanted to.

"You know he’ll help you out on that."

"Yes, he already offered, but we talked about it, I need to be able to pull my own, I don’t want to have to depend on him."

"Hey you’re a good guy. Like I said, things will work out. But I’ll check around and see if we have anything available. Though this late into the tour I can’t think of anything."

"It’s cool. It was just a thought." We arrived back to the apartment and went in.

Lonnie walked into the kitchen as I walked into the bedroom to change. Lance was still fast asleep. I changed into some dry clothes and went back out to the kitchen.

"He’s still asleep, go ahead and help yourself to what you’d like, I’m going to see if I can lull sleeping beauty out of his slumber." I grabbed two mugs and filled them both up with coffee. If Lance was like me, he was going to need some coffee in the morning.

Lonnie smiled and nodded. "You weren’t kidding when you said you fixed everything. There’s more food here than what they guys eat at one sitting!"

I just smiled and went into the bedroom with the coffee and closed the door behind me.
