BoysLife - EPISODE TWO

Josh Maxwell was trying to concentrate on the road, and driving, but he couldn't keep his eyes off the person in the seat next to him. Perry Adamson was laughing and talking about something, but Josh couldn't make out the words. He and Perry had gone out on a date, to give his cousin Jason and his boyfriend Trevor a night alone in the new house the four of them shared. Josh hadn't been on a date in over five months, and this one was his best date yet. He and Perry had instantly clicked, once they had gotten over the nervousness they both had shared. He felt so strongly attracted to Perry, and he felt blind for not seeing it in him before, since the two had known each other for quite some time now.

"Josh did you hear me?" Perry asked, snapping Josh out of his daydream.

"Um, no, I'm sorry," Josh admitted. "What did you say?"

"I said we'll have to do this again sometime," Perry said.

Josh nodded and turned the car into their development. "Yeah I would like that."

They got to the house, and parked the car in the driveway.

"Looks like someone's still up," Perry said, pointing to the upstairs window, where a dim light trickled out into the night.

"Oh they're probably too busy to notice we even came home," Josh said, unlocking the front door and going inside. Perry followed, and shut the door behind him.

"Wow, it feels weird coming here and knowing this is our place," Perry said. Josh removed his jacket and hung it on the coatrack.

"Yeah I know what you mean," Josh said, walking into the kitchen. Perry came along, and the two of them sat at the little breakfast nook table.

"I know that this is going to work out great," Perry said. "I already feel so comfortable, so safe here."

Josh nodded. "And now that I know you a little better..." He looked at Perry, who was smiling. "Now that I know you better," He continued. "We can hang out and all when Jay and Trevor want some time alone."

"That sounds great," Perry said. He stood. "Well, I am tired, I am going to hit the sack."

Josh stood too. "That sounds like a great idea to me."

"Thanks for a wonderful evening," Perry said. "It was a lot of fun!"

"Yes, thank you too," Josh said. Then he wrapped his arms around Perry in a quick hug. "Good night Perry."

"Good night Josh," Perry said, releasing him, turning and walking upstairs.

The next morning, Trevor woke his boyfriend as he was getting ready to leave to go to work. Trevor worked in a recording studio, doing production, recording, that sort of thing. Jason worked as a waiter at a pizza parlor, but he had taken a few vacation days, so that he could get set up in the new house.

"Is it that time already?" Jason asked, rolling over in the bed and looking at the clock on the desk.

"Yeah, I have about ten minutes," Trevor said. "I thought you might like to get up and see me off."

Jason sat up in the bed. "Yeah I'd love to." Trevor sat down next to him, and put his arm around his shoulders.

"I heard Perry and Josh roll in here around one or so this morning," Trevor said. "At least, that's what time they went to bed."

"You don't think they..." Jason started to ask, his eyebrows raised.

"Made out?" Trevor asked. "I don't think so," He said. "At least not here. I heard them come in the front door, and about ten minutes later come upstairs, and that's when I checked the time."

"Oh, okay," Jason said. He stood up. "Come on babe, you don't want to be late for work."

The two of them went downstairs, and then outside. Jason walked Trevor to his car, gave him a hug and a kiss and then watched as he pulled away. Once he had gone, Jason went back into the house.

When he went into the kitchen, Josh was there, drinking a cup of coffee.

"Good morning!" Jason said, sitting down next to him at the island.

"Hey Jay," Josh said. "Oh man, thanks so much for helping Perry and I hook up last night. We had such an awesome time."

Jason smiled. "So do you think there's any more dates in your future?"

Josh laughed. "Well, we'll see. I hope so."

"That's great!" Jason said. "I am glad things went well."

"Yes, me too," Josh said, standing and putting his empty coffee mug into the sink. He looked at his watch. "Well, I'm gonna run upstairs and hop into the shower, and then head out to work."

"Sounds good," Jason said, getting up as well. "I think I'll do the same thing." He followed his cousin out of the room.

As Josh came out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist, he almost knocked over Perry as he walked by.

"Josh, I'm sorry!" Perry said, putting his hand on Josh's bare chest. Josh felt tingles of electricity running all over his body. "I didn't see you coming out," Perry said with a smile.

"Hey, no problem," Josh said. "No harm done."

"Great!" Perry said, taking his hand back, and turning to walk away.

"Uh, Perry?" Josh said. Perry turned back towards him. "I was wondering... um, what are you doing this evening?"

Perry shrugged. "Nothing that I know of."

"Would you like to go over to the park and do some rollerblading with me then?" Josh asked. "I was going to go by myself, but it gets so lonely that way."

Perry laughed. "I can imagine." He paused. "Sure, I'd love to do that Josh, what time will you be home?"

"I'm coming home at 5:30 tonight," Josh said. "We can head over to the park around six or so."

"That sounds awesome," Perry said. "I can even pack us something to eat, if you want to have a little picnic or something."

Josh felt himself smiling widely. "That would be great."

"Cool!" Perry said. "I'll let you go get ready then," He turned and walked away. Josh retreated to his room, his heart beating loudly. He felt this sudden burst of joy and happiness whenever he was around Perry, he couldn't help but smile and laugh. The two of them had clicked so well on the first date, and that was something that Jason had set up to get them out of the house. He knew he would hardly be able to concentrate on his work today, and working in a clothing store, he knew he had to keep his mind on the customers. But he knew that would be very difficult.

He put on his clothes for the day, khaki pants and a white button down shirt (nothing he could mis-match there) and slipped on his socks and shoes. Checking his refection in the mirror, he decided to add a red sweater vest to the outfit. Then he went downstairs to say good-bye.

"You look nice today," Jason said, when Josh walked into the living room. Jay and Perry were sitting on the sofa, watching television.

"You think?" Josh asked, spinning around, trying to act silly.

Jason whispered something to Perry, who nodded, laughed, and got up and came over to Josh.

"Turn around," He said, putting hand arm on Josh's and turning him around.

"What?" Josh asked.

"You had a tag showing," Perry said, tucking the tag back into the sweater vest. "It's a good thing you modeled for us before you went off to work today."

"Yeah," Josh said, smiling. "You guys are great."

"Yeah we are," Jason said smugly, a grin on his face. "That's why you love us so much."

"You bet," Josh said, going to the coatrack and grabbing his leather jacket. "So what are you two up to today?"

"I'm taking Perry out to find a new job," Jason said. "And then I guess we'll just hang out here, watch movies or something."

"Sounds good," Josh said, putting on his jacket, and hugging his cousin. He then hugged Perry, which lasted a little longer than the hug he gave to Jason.

"Have a good day," Jason said.

"Yeah you two be good!" Josh joked as he walked to the door.

"Don't worry, we will!" Perry said, as Josh opened the door, threw a quick wave over his shoulder, and was gone.

That evening, the two couples split up again. Trevor and Jason stayed at the house, and Perry and Josh went out on another date.

"I really don't think Jay and Trevor mind us going out like this," Perry said, getting into Josh's car. "They like all the time alone."

"Yeah well they better not get used to it," Josh said. "Next time we're gonna kick them out!"

Perry laughed. "That sounds like a good plan to me!" Josh started up the car and pulled out of the driveway.

"So what did you make for dinner?" Josh asked. "I saw that nifty little picnic basket you found. I didn't even know we had one of them."

"We didn't," Perry said. "Jason and I bought it when we went out job hunting today. And I didn't make anything, we got a meal from Crispy Chicken." He looked at Josh with a grin on his face.

"So how did the job search go?" Josh asked.

"Pretty well," Perry said. "We stopped in at Jason's work, and I put in an application there, since Jay said they were hiring for host positions. And then we went to the mall, and I put in a few applications over there, and we got the picnic basket."

"Well that's great," Josh said. "I hope you get a new job soon. Where did you work before?"

"Before I got kicked out of my house I worked at Sports World, that new sports complex by the mall," Perry said. "But then I got kicked out and I had nowhere to live, and they let me go."

"Oh that's awful," Josh said.

Perry nodded. "Yeah. And then I moved in with Trevor and helped him out at the studio for a while." He paused. "I like music and all, but I am not really a recording person. So we got the new place, and I told myself as soon as we got all settled in that I would get a new job."

"How were you able to pay for your truck while you were out of work?" Josh asked.

"Well, the truck actually belongs to my Grandfather," Perry said. "He had given it to me when he wanted to buy a new one. So all I was paying was the insurance, and I only got a month behind on the bill before I started working with Trevor, so it all worked out in the long run."

"That's good," Josh said.

They got to the park, and grabbed their rollerblades and the picnic basket and blanket Perry had brought.

"Do you want to eat now?" Perry asked. "I am a little bit hungry."

Josh nodded. "Sure that will be fine."

They found a quiet spot on a little hill overlooking the pond. They set out the blanket and opened up the picnic basket. As they ate, they talked freely, about themselves, about Jason and Trevor, about life and about trivial things like the weather. To Josh it all seemed so right, so perfect a situation. He had never felt so comfortable with anyone ever before. Something about Perry gave Josh this fluttery feeling in his stomach. He didn't know what it was, but he knew he wanted to find out.

Once they had gotten done eating, they put the basket back into the car, and then found a bench to sit on and put on their rollerblades.

Josh stood up, did a little turn and held out his hand to help up Perry.

"I haven't been on these things in a while," Perry admitted.

"Oh come on, I'll help you," Josh said.

Perry stood, and nearly fell over, he had to lean into Josh's body to keep himself standing. As Josh wrapped his arms around Perry he felt his heartbeat race, the electric tingles shooting all over his body. Finally Perry gained his balance and he was able to stand on his own, and he let go of Josh.

They skated around the park on the special bike path, talking and laughing, and pointing out other foolish-looking people who had trouble getting onto their feet with wheels attached to them.

As it began getting dark, they decided to head home.

"Let's go get some ice cream," Perry said. "My treat!"

"Oh you don't have to do that!" Josh said.

"Be quiet Josh!" Perry joked, "I want to. Come on, let's go over to the Diner."

The two of them went into Annie's Diner, a popular hangout for people their age. They were seated and Perry ordered hot fudge sundaes and Cokes for them both.

"I don't think I've had this much fun before in just two days," Josh said. "It's really a lot of fun hanging out with you."

"Yeah, I agree," Perry said. "You're a great guy Josh."

"You too Perry," Josh said. Their ice cream and sodas came, and once again they were lost in the land of fun, talking, and this time, eating.

After they had finished, Perry paid the bill, and they headed back to the house.

Perry walked up the walk in front of Josh, and as he got to the door, Josh stopped him. "Can we sit out here to talk for a minute?" He asked.

"Sure," Perry said, sitting on the front step. "What's up?"

Josh sat next to him, already starting to get nervous for what he wanted to say. "Perry you know how special these past few days have been to me," He started out. "I am so glad you and I took this time to really get to know each other."

Perry nodded, a smile on his face. "Yeah, I mean, if we're going to be living together, it's great that we can be close friends as well. It kind of completes the circle, you and me getting close."

Josh smiled nervously. "Perry, I've never felt like this about anyone before," He said. "I feel so free when I am around you. I feel as though I've known you forever now, and it's not really been that long." Perry looked down, not saying anything. So Josh continued, "Perry I'd really like to see if this relationship can go anywhere else..."

Perry cut him off with a gentle hand on his arm. "Josh, no," He said softly. "I need to explain. I hope I haven't given you the wrong impression."

"What?" Josh asked.

"Josh, I'm not looking for a dating relationship with you," Perry said. "I care about you, but all I wanted from you is a good friendship."

Josh didn't know what to say. He felt so awkward and embarrassed now.

"I really like hanging out with you Josh," Perry said. "But I don't think I could live like Jason and Trevor do. It just wouldn't work." He paused, and then gave Josh a quick kiss on the cheek. "I'm sorry Josh," He said, standing up and going into the house, leaving Josh sitting alone on the front step.

"And there goes Josh," Trevor said to Jason a few moments later when Josh walked by the door as Perry had, head down, not really noticing that Trevor and Jason were cuddling on the sofa, watching a movie.

"I guess something went wrong," Jason said.

"Who knows?" Trevor said, snuggling close to his boyfriend. A few more moments into the movie, Josh came into the room.

"Hey Josh!" Trevor said. "How'd it go?"

"It's was all right," Josh said. "Jay can I talk to you for a minute?"

Jason shot a strange look at his boyfriend, and then got up and went with Josh into the kitchen.

"Josh are you okay?" Jason asked.

Josh nodded. "Yeah, I just made a complete fool of myself though." He sunk into a chair at the breakfast nook table. Jason sat across from him.

"Tell me about it then," Jason said.

Josh began sharing the details of the evening, adding in all the feelings and emotions he had been feeling. By the end of the story, Trevor had joined them, sitting across from Jason, on the other side of Josh.

"And then I tried bringing up the issue of a deeper relationship," Josh said. "And he totally brushed me off, and told me he wasn't looking for that."

"Sounds like you had a major bad timing event there man," Trevor said.

"Yeah, I guess," Josh said. "I was just so sure this would work out. I have never felt this strongly about anyone before. I've always been on dates and not thought of them as anything other than a date." He paused. "How did it happen for you guys?" He laughed nervously. "I don't think I've ever asked you guys."

Trevor stared at Jason and laughed. "Wow, dragging up some history aren't we now?"

Jason smiled. "Well, you know that Trevor and I met through my work."

"I did know that much," Josh said.

"Yeah, I had stopped over there with some of my board members for lunch one day," Trevor said. "And we sat in Jason's section, and we were all impressed by his nice personality and good service."

"And of course my incredibly sexy looks," Jason joked.

Josh and Trevor laughed. "Yeah that too," Trevor said. "Anyway, while he was standing there with nothing to do, we overheard him singing to the radio, and I fell in love with him then and there."

"Yeah," Jason asked. "They asked me to come do an audition for them, and I went. Trevor and I talked some there and he asked me to go out with him sometime."

"How many times did you guys go out before you knew you were meant for each other?" Josh asked. "How did you both realize that you loved each other."

"We just knew," Jason said after a moment. "I knew that I felt so strongly about him and it wasn't just that I cared about him in a friendship sort of way."

"Yeah, it was like that for me too," Trevor said. "I mean, of course the electricity was there and all, but there was just something more."

"That sounds exactly like what I am feeling," Josh said. "I feel as though I want to be with him and no one else."

"Well maybe you need to give it some time," Jason said. "Who knows what will happen in the future?"

"Yeah, that would be my advice for you," Trevor said. "But Josh if Perry doesn't feel this way about you, you need to try and move on, this may not be the one."

"I know," Josh said. "But I have never wanted someone to be the one more than this."

"It's hard," Jason said. "But hang on, it will all work out in the end."

"I hope so," Josh said.

"It will," Jason said, putting his hand on top of his cousin's.

Jason overslept the next morning, and when he woke up, he found a note from Trevor on their desk. "My Jay-Bird," He read out loud. "You looked so incredibly cute laying there sleeping I just couldn't bear to wake you up. Please have a wonderful day, and I will see you when I get home. Love, Trevor."

He smiled and placed the note back on the desk, and then got ready to get in the shower. He showered, dressed, and then headed downstairs to get something to eat. As he walked past the front door, the doorbell rang, startling him and causing his to jump in shock. He opened the door, and almost fainted in shock when he saw his sister and his Mother standing there.

"Mother!" Jason said in surprise, throwing his arms around her neck and hugging her tight.

"Surprise!" Sabrina said.

"Oh Jay it is so good to see you," His mother said. "This is such a lovely home."

"Oh come on in," Jason said. "I am so happy that you came by!"

The three of them stepped inside, and went into the living room. "Jason this is so beautiful," His mother said. "I am so very happy for you."

"Thanks," Jason said. "I did a lot of the decorating myself."

"It's so unique," Mother said. "So... so You Jason. Not too manly but not too feminine."

"Mom, he got most of his ideas from Martha Stweart!" Sabrina said.

Their mother laughed. "Did you really?" She sat down on the sofa.

"Yeah," Jason said, sitting next to her. "She's a really smart lady."

Sabrina sat in the recliner chair. "Yeah he fell in love with her television show once he found this place."

"I still cannot believe this," Mother said. "My oldest son out on his own."

"Not hardly on his own mother," Sabrina said. "He's got too many roommates."

"It keeps the rent bill down," Mother said. "Not everyone gets a house given to them dear."

"Yeah!" Jason said, mimicking the voice of a little child. "How was your vacation Mother?"

Mother sighed. "It would have been better if your father would have stopped talking about you the entire time." She paused. "But he is as hard-headed as they come. You never know what's going to come out of his mouth."

"I am sorry if I am making things difficult for you," Jason said.

His mother reached over and put her arm on his leg. "Honey, you're our child, and you don't make things difficult for us. I am very proud of you for the work you've put into getting this house, and fixing it up to be a wonderful home for you to live in."

Jason smiled at his mother. "So Dad does not know you're here then?"

His mother shook her head. "No he does not know," She said. "I didn't think it was any of his business that I went to visit my son, and I knew that he would just tell me not to come, and that is not for him to say."

"Thanks Mom," Jason said, hugging her again. "It means a lot to see you again." He let go of her. "Would you like to see the rest of the house?"

"I'd love to!" Mother said cheerfully. Jason and Sabrina took her on a tour. They went upstairs and found Perry in the den, using the computer.

"I heard that you had guests downstairs," Perry said, getting up from the desk as they came into the room and he was introduced to Jason's mother. "I didn't want to disturb you."

"Thanks Perry," Jason said.

"It is nice to meet you Perry," Mother said. "I hope to see you again soon."

"Same to you Mrs. Harmon," Perry said as they left the room.

The three of them went back downstairs and Jason got them glasses of iced tea. They sat at the island and talked some more. Then it was time for Sabrina to take Mother home.

"I really do love this house," Mother said as they walked out to Sabrina's car. "I know that you're living well now Jason, and I couldn't be more happier for you. Please share my love with Josh and Trevor. I will stop by sometime when they are home, so I can see them."

"That would be great," Jason said. "I love you Mother."

"I love you too Jason," She said, getting into Sabrina's car.

"I'll see ya later Jay!" Sabrina said, giving him a little wave as she got into the car and started it up. Jason waved as they drove away and then went back into the house. Perry met him in the hallway.

"Jason, could I borrow your car tonight?" He asked.

"I suppose so," Jason said. "Why?"

"I'm going out, and the truck has been acting kind of funny," Perry said.

"Okay, sure," Jason said. "As long as you put some gas into it you can borrow it."

"Thanks," Perry said. The two of them went into the kitchen.

"Any word on a job interview or anything yet?" Jason asked.

"Yeah I have an interview tomorrow at the mall," Perry said. "At that music store."

"Well that's cool," Jason said. "I hope everything goes well."

"Yeah," Perry said. "Well, I'm sure I'll get a job someplace. It's just the waiting that's so hard."

"That's true," Jason said. "Well, now that my mother and my sister are gone, I am going to get myself some food. I'm starving!"

Perry laughed.

That evening Josh cooked dinner, and the three of them ate in the dining room with candles and soft music.

"Wow, what a romantic spaghetti dinner," Jason said, smiling at Josh. "You're the best Josh!"

"Thanks," Josh said softly, sitting in his seat. "I hope it's good, it's been a long time since I had to boil water and make noodles." He laughed. "Somebody taste it first!"

Trevor twirled some pasta on his fork and put it into his mouth. "Well Josh, it is very good," He said after he swallowed. "You did a great job sir!"

Josh smiled. "Thanks."

"My mother came to see me today," Jason said.

"Did she?" Trevor asked in surprise. "Wow!"

As they ate, Jason told them about the visit with his mother. "It was great to see her," He said. "And it is good to know that she's starting to accept me for who I am now."

"I'm actually looking forward to seeing her now," Josh said, taking a sip of his soda.

"Yeah, me too," Trevor said. "I'm glad to hear that Jay."

Jason nodded. "Yeah me too."

Just then the phone rang. "I'll get it," Josh said, getting up and going into the kitchen. He came into the dining room a moment later with the phone. "Trevor it's for you," He said.

Trevor got up and took the phone from Josh and went out of the room.

"How was your day Josh?" Jason asked.

"Not good," Josh said. "I kept thinking about Perry, and the way I messed things up with him."

"I don't think you messed things up," Jason said. "It just wasn't the right time to say what you did. And he might not be the one for you Josh. You need to give him some time."

"Yeah, I know," Josh said. "And I am not going to be totally possessive of him. I understand the way he feels, and I need to move on. We can still be good friends though."

"There you go!" Jason said, standing up. "Well, why don't I help you clear the table and I'll load the dishwasher."

"No arguments there!" Josh said with a smile.

The two of them cleared the table and Jason loaded the dishwasher and started it up. When they got done, Trevor was still on the phone, so they went into the living room to see what was on television. They found some spy movie that looked good, and decided to watch that.

Almost at the end of the movie, Trevor came into the room, and sat next to Jason on the couch.

"I've never seen you talk so long on the phone before," Jason said. "Is everything okay?"

Trevor nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine," He said. "I'm a little tired though, so I'll be upstairs waiting for you, okay?"

"Yeah that's fine dear," Jason said. "I love you."

"Love you too," Trevor said, giving Jason a quick kiss. "Good night Josh," He said, leaving the room.

"Good night Trevor!" Josh called as Trevor was walking up the stairs.

"Is he feeling all right?" Josh asked Jason. "He looked a little pale."

"He's probably really tired from work today," Jason said, leaning back into the sofa. "He'll be better in the morning, I'm sure."

The next morning, Jason made sure Trevor woke him up before he left for work. Today would be Jason's first day back to work since the move.

"I'll see you when you get home Jay!" Trevor called to him as he was about to hop in the shower. "I love you!"

Jason looked at his watch. It was a bit early for Trevor to be going to work, he thought to himself, but perhaps he had some extra things to do. "I love you babe!" He called back, and then began the water for his shower. When he was done and dressed, he went downstairs. Perry was eating a bowl of cereal.

"Hey there Jay," Perry said. "Thanks for letting me use the car last night," He said. "I really appreciate it."

"Well, you got it back in one piece, so it's okay," Jason said, popping a bagel into the toaster. "Oh I wish I didn't have to go back to work today. It's been so nice having these past few days off."

"So you're glad you took your vacation time to move then?" Perry asked.

"Oh yeah!" Jason said. "I wouldn't have wanted to do it like Josh did, only getting the actual day of the move off. I would be crazy after that!"

"Yeah I suppose," Perry said. "I hope things go well with my interview today, maybe I'll actually have a job to go to."

"I'm sure you'll be fine," Jason said. His bagel popped up, and he took it out, and smothered it with butter. Then he poured himself a glass of orange juice and sat down to eat. "So where did you go last night?"

"I met a couple people at the mall," Perry said. "We just kind of hung out and then we went back to this guy Evan's house."

"Sounds cool," Jason said. "I haven't been out in such a long time. Maybe I'll get Trevor to take me to a club this weekend or something."

"That would be awesome," Perry said. "Then Josh and I could have the house while you two go out!"

Jason did not say anything for a moment. "Perry, what is your opinion on this Josh situation?"

"You mean the fact that he likes me?" Perry asked. Jason nodded. "I don't know what to think," Perry went on. "I mean, we only went out two times, and I never really did anything to give him the impression that I wanted it to be more."

"Why didn't you tell him up front that it was only going to be a friendship relationship?" Jason asked. "That could have made things a lot easier."

"Well, at first I wasn't sure," Perry said. "I mean, when Josh asked me to go out with him, I was really flattered."

"He asked you?" Jason asked. "But I set the whole thing up."

"Yeah but he asked me on his own," Perry said. "So it was more like an actual date then a set-up."

"Oh," Jason said. "I get it."

"I mean, I had a great time with him that night," Perry said. "And don't get me wrong, Josh is an awesome guy. But it would be too weird for me living in the same house as him, I would feel so awkward if we broke up or anything like that."

"That would be hard," Jason said. "But is it only the living arrangement? I mean, what else is there to keep you guys from becoming closer?"

"Well..." Perry said. "I don't know. I just don't feel that way about him."

Jason nodded. "I'm not trying to push into him or anything, Perry. I just know my cousin, and he feels very attached to you, and he seems to care about you a lot."

"And I respect that," Perry said. "But what he needs to understand is that we can still care about each other as friends, even if we date other guys."

"I think he knows that," Jason said, getting up and putting his empty glass in the sink. He looked at his watch. "Okay I have about an hour before I leave, I'm going to go use the computer for a bit." He paused. "Are you going to be all right today all by yourself?"

"Yes," Perry said with a smile. "I feel like such a baby sometimes the way you guys treat me. Remember that I am older than you Jay."

"By what?" Jason said. "Seven months?"

"Something like that," Perry said. "It just seems like I'm younger because I am shorter than all of you guys."

"Well, being short is cool," Jason said. "And I'm not that much taller than you, so don't worry about it man." He turned and walked out of the room.

Jason got in his car after work, and switched on the radio to his favorite station. They were playing one of his favorite songs, so he cranked the volume and sang along as he pulled out of the parking lot and onto the street. He had about a twenty minute drive to his new house, and luckily the traffic was not too bad for him, so he actually got there in twenty, not thirty or thirty-five.

As he pulled onto his street, he noticed that Trevor's car was not in the driveway, and neither was Perry's truck. Josh's car was sitting next to the curb to one side of the driveway. Jason pulled his car into the driveway, got out and went inside. The house was quiet, he looked around for Josh, and found him laying on his bed, looking at a magazine.

"Oh hey Jay," Josh said when Jason went into his room. "You have a message from Trevor, he'll be home a little late tonight."

"I figured as much when I didn't see his car," Jason said. "Where's Perry?"

"He went out," Josh said. "I had rented some movies to watch together tonight, the four of us, and when I came home he said he was going out."

"Oh," Jason said. "Well, movie night sounds great. Seems like that's all we've been doing lately."

"Yeah," Josh said with a smile. "Perry said to wait for him though. I guess he was just running some errands or something."

"Probably," Jason said. "I'm going to go change out of these clothes." He left Josh alone again.

As he was changing his clothes, the door to his room opened. Surprised, he gasped and turned to see who it was.

"Hey baby, it's only me," Trevor said, coming into the room. "Sorry for being late, I had some extra work today and I still didn't get it all done." He sighed and layed down on the bed.

Jason threw on his shirt, and layed down next to his boyfriend. "So how was your long day at work today?" He asked, playing with Trevor's hair.

"Oh it was long," Trevor said. "How about you, you started back up today."

"Yeah I did pretty good in tips," Jason said. "It was a good lunch crowd and early dinner crowd."

"That's good," Trevor said. He stood up. "I think I'm going to get in the shower. You want to call out for Chinese tonight?"

"That's a good idea," Jason said. "Josh rented some movies."

"What now that we have his big screen television all we're gonna do is watch movies?" Trevor joked.

"Yeah, that would be about it," Jason said, getting up off the bed.

"That's cool, I feel like cuddling with my boyfriend tonight," Trevor said. "You know what I like, surprise me with something good."

Jason wrapped his arms around Trevor's waist and gave him a slow passionate kiss. "How about that?" He asked.

"That's great," Trevor said, leaning in to kiss him again.

That evening Jason, Trevor and Josh ate their Chinese food in the living room. As they waited for Perry, they watched some sitcom on T.V.

"If he doesn't come in within the next fifteen minutes I say forget him," Trevor said, putting his empty food container on the end table. He layed on Jason's lap, and Jason ran a hand through his hair.

"Yeah," Josh said. "He asked for us to wait, I don't know why though."

Just then the door opened, and Perry came in, followed by another guy. This guy was big, the football type, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was burly, muscular, wearing blue jeans and a form-fitting athletic T-shirt. A tattoo of a dragon was on his left bicep, and his ears were both pierced. He had a small brown gotee and walked with a self-confidence that could easily be mistaken for arrogance. Perry and this guy walked into the room.

"Hey guys this is Wade," Perry said.

Jason, Trevor and Josh all said hello.

"The two guys all over each other on the sofa are Jason and Trevor," Perry said. "And the one on the floor is Josh."

"Hey," Wade said.

"We'll be up in my room if you guys need me," Perry said, leading Wade out of the room by the hand.

"Wow, someone has a hot sex date," Trevor said.

"Looks like it to me," Josh said. "I'm happy for him."

Jason shot a look at Trevor but neither of them said anything.

"Well, I guess we can start the movie now," Jason said, getting up off the sofa and popping the movie into the VCR. "Now we know we're not waiting on Perry."

After the movie, Josh said he was tired and went upstairs to go to bed.

"Wow, what did you think of that Wade guy?" Jason asked Trevor as the went into the kitchen to throw away their trash from dinner.

"He really didn't seem like Perry's type," Trevor said. "And it's not like Perry to do the one night of sex thing."

"They looked like they knew each other pretty well," Jason said. "I mean, did you see the way they were holding hands?"

Trevor nodded. "Maybe they're old friends."

"Who knows?" Jason said. "Boy did Josh take that one hard. Do you think Perry brought that Wade guy here just to get the message through to Josh that he only wants to be friends?"

"I don't think Perry would do that," Trevor said. "I've known him for a while now, and he's not like that." He paused. "But he's not the type to hide guys from me either. He would normally be so excited about meeting a guy that he'd be talking about it all the time."

"But then this thing with Josh happened," Jason said. "Maybe he just didn't want to tell us about Wade because he knew none of us would like him." He laughed at that thought.

Trevor smiled. "Oh I don't know. It's not really any of our business anyway. If Perry wanted to have sex with Wade, maybe that's all it was then. And we don't even know that's what they were doing?"

"Up in the bedroom?" Jason asked, taking both of Trevor's hands into his own. "Come on babe, what do two people usually do alone in the bedroom?"

Trevor leaned in close to his boyfriend. "Hmm, I'm not sure about that one. Why don't you remind me?" They kissed quickly.

"I think I can handle that," Jason said.

"I don't," Trevor said, a smile lighting up his face.

"Ooh, aren't we a little horny tonight?" Jason asked.

"Of course," Trevor said. "Come on Jay, let's go upstairs and forget about all this and just be with each other."

"I like that thought," Jason said, letting Trevor lead him upstairs by the hand.
