Sorry about this chapter taking a long time to manifest itself. I've been pretty busy lately since school started last week, and also I've been involved in many other things related to school. And I've also got a boyfriend now, and I've re-written this chapter to add him into the story as well. Also, many people have asked for the other members of the BSB and Nsync to be added back into the story, so I've had to change the storyline to fit them in as well...the cast of characters in this chapter is even larger than the Chronicles, so it's gonna be a bit tough. Anyway, thanks go to Neto, Rune, Aphrodite, Matt and Gavilan and people that have emailed me for all the constant support and encouragement. Thanks for being patient for this chapter to come out. Thanks to the following people who may or may not have read this story but are in it anyway...Jason, Neto, Susan, Mags, Steve, Denny, Faith, Jimmy, Peter, David, Grace, Charmaine (Charmander), Karene, Marcus and Vincent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This story contains homosexual content and should not be read by anyone under the age of 18. Also, this story does not imply anything about the sexualities of anyone from Nsync, Westlife, Backstreet Boys or any other celebrity mentioned here. I do not know them and their characteristics. This also does not imply anything about any other people mentioned in this story. Their names and descriptions are there but that doesn't mean that their characteristics are the same in real life. And none of them possess any special powers of any sort (I'm not kidding, someone really thought that Justin could really cast spells!) and this is totally fiction! And now you may read this next chapter! Happy reading!

For Vincent with love! :) Get well soon! ______________________________________________________________________________ |The Daemon Gate - Chapter Three| Kevin, Neto and Paul rushed up the nearby staircase towards the shrieking. The screamer continued to scream in pain and agony. The three guys rushed off the staircase on the fourth floor and ran up to the door of the screamer's flat. Kevin and Paul began pulling and shaking the gate, trying to get it open. Neto closed his eyes and touched the padlock on the gate and said, "Open!"

Immediately, the padlock sprung open and Kevin managed to open the gate. Kevin rushed at the wooden door and slammed his shoulder into it, opening the door. Paul and Neto quickly rushed into the room. They saw a boy of about eighteen laying on the floor, totally naked. He was surrounded by an outer circle of rose petals, and an inner circle consisting of talismans and five equidistant black candles. The boy continued to thrash and shake, screaming all the time. Kevin rushed towards the boy but felt like he had collided with a brick wall when he reached the ring of roses. Dazed, he fell to the floor. Paul squinted his eyes and flung his hands out before him. A stream of coloured gems and precious stones rained from his fingers. As they reached the circle of rose petals, however, an electric-blue light streamed up, causing the gems to fall to the floor and vanish. The boy continued to thrash and scream, drawing the attention of the nosey housewives from all parts of the building to the scene.

"Call 911!" Kevin shouted, at one of the onlookers. He quickly grabbed a cordless phone from nearby and dialed 911. Nothing happened. He dialed 911 again, and still nothing happened. He tossed the phone to one of the busybodies that stood around, watching. The dark haired woman quickly dialed 999 and Kevin went back to breaking the magical barrier.

Paul continued to fling all sorts of magic at the circle, which continously blocked his efforts. It was obviously very well cast, and Paul's weak magic was useless against it. Kevin and Neto could not penetrate it either with physical strength or psychic energy. Soon, the boy stopped thrashing about and fell silent, his body stopping it's movements. Blood streamed from his mouth, ears and eyes. Paul, Kevin and Neto just stood and stared, wondering what to make of the entire situation. The sound of sirens filled the air as the police and ambulance arrived.

"I just heard sirens," Mark said as he came out of the tiny toilet that only had enough space for the sink, toilet bowl and a shower area seperated from the rest of the toilet by sliding glass panes.

"Really?" Estel asked, raising an eyebrow. "I can't hear much because PETER'S GOT THE MOFFATS ON SO DAMN LOUD!!!"

"I HEARD THAT!" Peter hollered back through the loud music. "WHAT'S THE USE OF HAVING SUCH A GREAT SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM IF YOU DON'T CRANK IT UP THIS HIGH?"

"Ugh!" Estel frowned. He glanced at the hi-fi and squinted his eyes. Immediately, the hi-fi was turned off as though all the power was suddenly gone from it. Peter pressed a few buttons but nothing worked.

"What did you do?" Peter asked Estel, getting of the couch and walking towards the kitchen where the bathroom was located. (Author's note: in Singapore flats, one bathroom is in the kitchen and the other is in the master bedroom.)

"It's called lockdown," Estel explained. "Sithi and Malenti both have it. It's the ability to stop any electronic device from working. And now we have peace."

"Don't forget the sirens," Mark reminded Estel. "I've just got this feeling that they're very important right now."

Just then the front door burst open and a boy of about seventeen ran into the house, his short black hair falling over his handsome face. He had a worried look on his face and he was sweating.

"Police," he panted. "They're coming to investigate a murder case, but it's not a murder case because the victim was killed by a succubus."

"What is it with these summoners," Jason complained from behind Peter. "Do they just wake up one morning and say, 'Hey! I know what's cool today. Let me summon up the powers of darkness and get a kick out of it!'"

Estel's expression furrowed with worry. He scratched his chin with concern and asked, "Is the summoner dead?"

"Yes," the young man nodded. "We have a succubus on the loose out here on the material plane. And three of the people you chose to help were arrested too."

"Thank you Vincent," Estel said. "Where are the police now?"

"They've left," Vincent replied. "With our three friends with them."

Neto grumbled at his bad luck. First he had been hunted down by Bounties, causing Alegifu to sacrifice her life to save him. Then, he had met Paul who had brought him around half the world to give him the most excruciating hour he had ever had. And now, he was in a black police van with handcuffs around his wrist for a crime he had not commited, although the eye witnesses believed otherwise since they did not know what was going on.

After about half an hour's drive, the police van finally came to a stop. A policeman opened the van and ordered Kevin, Neto and Paul to get out. They were led into a building, and from there into a cell. A policewoman locked the door and left.

"Just great," Kevin said sarcastically. "Now what do we do?"

"We wait for the others to get us out of here," Paul replied.

"And how long will that take?" Neto asked, throughly miserable.

"Not as long as you think," came a woman's voice. The woman was Chinese, and had short hair which was highlighted a reddish brown colour. She was dressed in a tight sleeveless shirt and a pair of long brown pants. Beside her stood a Chinese man with short black hair wearing a T-shirt and a pair of zip-away khakis.

"My name is Faith and this is my husband Jimmy," Faith introduced herself. "We've come to get you out. Unfortunately, they won't allow us to bail you out so we're going to have to do it the hard way."

Jimmy walked forward and placed his hands on the bars, pulling them apart. Although he did not look big and strong, he pulled the bars far apart enough to let even Kevin through.

"Wow, thanks, strong man," Paul thanked Jimmy. "Now what?"

"Now we wait for Estel to clear things up while we make an escape," Faith replied, smiling. "Hold hands and stand in a circle."

The five of them joined hands, and when Kevin's hand touched Neto's, both of them jumped back a bit as though shocked. Kevin gave a small smile to Neto and grabbed his hand. As soon as he had done so, Faith closed her eyes and the world rippled. They found themselves in what seemed to be an enormous house with many rooms.

"Where are we?" Paul asked, looking around the large living room which was decorated with paintings and bookshelves, and many carpets, cushions and bean bags for sitting and reading.

"This is the secret part of Estel's flat," Faith replied. "Other than apparating and disapparating in and out, you just have to press the numbers four, nine, eight and six in that order on the microwave and you'll be transported here. To leave, you just press the big red button over at that end of the room."

"Cool!" Neto exclaimed. "Now what do we do?"

"You're so impatient," Jimmy said. "We wait for the others to arrive here, but for now, look for the door with your name above it and that will be your room for the entire time you're here."

"Free hotel service too?" Paul joked. "That Estel really has many talents."

Justin stared at the wall in his new room, concentrating. He felt deep inside himself for the power and energy he had drawed upon countless times in the past. As he drew out the energy, he began to concentrate on Estel. Slowly, his eyes closed and the world flashed bright before his eyes. He found himself standing in an alley. He waited for a while, then noticed Mark running into the alley. Mark was crying as he ran. Soon, Estel followed behind him, chasing after him. Mark and Estel faded from Justin's sight. Justin waited for a while but nothing happened. Frowning, he concentrated on Estel again. He found himself standing in another dark alley at night. In front of him, Estel was holding Mark who was hugging Estel.

"Do you believe me now?" Estel whispered, hugging Mark close to him. Mark sniffed and nodded, hugging Estel back. Estel smiled and wiped the tears from Mark's cheeks and kissed him lightly on the lips.

"Now let's go and meet the guys you webbed earlier on," Estel said, smiling at Mark.

"You really want to talk to Justin, huh?" Mark said sadly. Estel sighed and touched Mark's pointed chin. He shook his head to show Mark that that was not why he wanted to go to meet the guys.

"Then why?" Mark asked.

"I want to have a word with my brother-in-law," Estel smiled. Mark's look of confusion was so comical that Estel laughed for a while before holding Mark's hand. He uttered a few words and brought up a mental picture of Brian before the two disappeared.

Justin felt his heart break, and he came out of his vision. He realised that that must have been what happened after he first met Mark. How Justin hated that name! Justin was furious that Mark had come between him and Estel, and was determined to make Mark pay for it. Clapping his hands once to make sure he was completely out of the trance, Justin stood up and left the room. He did not notice the dark red eyes staring at him from the wall behind.

The girl paced up and down in front of the McDonalds, waiting and searching for her late companions. They were taking too long to arrive. The girl crossed her arms, giving her a fierce look. Though she was only about five foot two, she was intimidating. Her red shirt and torn jeans made her seem even more intimidating. Why are they taking so long? she asked herself angrily looking at her watch.

"Excuse me, miss, but would you like to go out on a date?" A young man with an ugly face stood behind the girl. She raised thin eyebrow and looked amusedly at the young man in front of her.

"Sure I would," she replied. "But not with you."

The young man frowned. "Why not? I've never had a girl refuse me before."

"Maybe because you told them to go away and they were happy to oblige," Charmaine replied sarcastically. "Go take a hike."

The young man frowned. He walked up and looked down at Charmaine. "You're going out with me tonight!"

Charmaine felt an Insinuation creep into her brain. She quickly set up mental barriers around the Insinuation but returned a signal to the creep's brain that said that his Insinuation worked. His was obviously relatively new at using his higher conciousness, and not too ethical about it either. Charmaine's mind was trained to battle the mental and psychic attacks of the malenti and easily overcame the man's pathetically weak mental attack. Thinking his Insinuation had worked, the man advanced and began moving his face closer to Charmaine's. Suddenly, he jerked back and groaned, clutching his groin.

"I don't think so," Charmaine replied, kicking the man in the face with her platform shoes. The man closed his eyes and concentrated. He slowly stood up and faced Charmaine, his pain gone.

"Now you suffer," he warned. "I'm a powerful psychic and I'll destroy your mind."

Charmaine rolled her eyes. "Oh, puh-leese!" She squinted her eyes a bit and concentrated, and the man went flying back several feet, landing on an unoccupied concrete table. The man stared at Charmaine in wonder.

"You're a powerful psychic," he gasped. Charmaine rolled her eyes again.

"Actually, you're just pathetic at mental powers," she taunted. "I'm not even considered powerful, especially since I'm one of the four elemental magicians. If you studied your psychic lessons well, you'd know who I am."

"You're just making it up," the man replied. "You're just trying to scare me."

"Ugh!" Charmaine scoffed. She surrounded the man's outline with purple flames that did not burn. It was a basic and useless technique but it worked. The man screamed like a madman and fled, the purple flames licking at his skin. He was in too much panic to realise that there was no heat. Only after that happened, Charmaine realised what danger she could have brought to herself. She turned around and noticed three large, burly men looking at her. Damn it! she swore in her mind. Think before you act next time, girl!

"That was a pretty fiery outburst," another female voice spoke from behind Charmaine. Charmaine whirled around slowly and turned to face a girl that looked quite boyish. She was also short, but still taller than Charmaine.

"You must grow maize in your house, Grace," Charmaine replied. "You're so corny!"

"Can we cut with the bad puns already?" another voice asked. Charmaine and Grace turned to face the newcomer. The youth was tanned with black hair and a surfer's body.

"May we help you?" Charmaine asked, raising her eyebrow fiercely. The youth smirked.

"That depends," he drawled. "I happen to be looking for someone called Estel. Maybe you two know where to find him?"

"Are you Steve?" Grace asked. "We're supposed to be waiting for you, right?"

"That's right," Steve replied, smiling.

"You're late," Charmaine said.

"I was brought straight to the HQ," Steve explained. "I had to come here to tell you two that I'm already here."

"Very thoughtful of you," Charmaine replied sarcastically. "This was a total waste of time, and boring too, except for that jerk who tried to get fresh with me."

She closed her eyes and burst into flames. When the flames disappeared, so had Charmaine. Steve raised his eyebrows and turned to look at an amused Grace.

"Is she always like this?" he asked, furrowing his brow. Grace smiled an affirmative. Steve shrugged and raised his hands. Immediately, a stream of ice created a sort of path in the air. Steve hopped on the path, instantly transforming into a walking icicle.

"Grab on," he said to Grace, who grabbed him around the waist. Using his powers, Steve managed to "surf" all the way back to Estel's house. [To be continued!] Sorry this chapter is so short, but I've sort of run dry of ideas for now. For those who know what's been going on in my life, just to let you know that Vincent's condition has worsened and now he's back in critical condition. I wasn't given the exact details (face it, if you didn't know your son's "best friend" is his boyfriend, would you be giving out the medical information to an almost complete stranger?) so I'm not too sure of what will happen to Vincent. Well, as with before, comments and emails to be sent to ensstyenlc@hotmail.com

There are a lot of other good writers out there and if your story is not listed here, it most likely means I haven't read your story yet. Good job to those whose stories are listed here. Keep up the very good woork!
