"He must not be able to birth the child." A red and black demon that looked like Belthazor. His name was Fenrir, "This child could spell the end of everything we could be."
"He's right." A grimlock named Breen said, "There's already a new child that is powerful beyond measure."
"Maybe we're looking at this wrong." The Crone said carefully.
"Would you have him be born?!" Loren, a green and yellow, scaly demon said.
"No!" Fenrir said, "He can never be born!"
"The source would never allow us to kill the boy." The Crone said.
"Because the source is magically connected to him." A vampire, Tara, said.
"How do you know this?" The Crone asked.
"It's the talk of the Underworld." The Seer said, stepping into the light, "Wonder how that happened..." she smiled.
Chapter 88: In Mat, we trust
Wyatt placed his hand on my stomach as we were laying in bed. We were fresh off coitus. After the fourth time, we decided that the day had to start. He was so cute when he rubbed my belly or talked to my belly or did anything. Since we had gotten our vows renewed, the sex was more frequent and we were together more. I didn't mind having him around more, but I knew he would have to get back opening his practice. So, after he orbed me to the Manor and went off to work, I stood in the kitchen with Piper.
"So...your little trip to the past..."
"Not open for discussion." Piper said, adding seasoning to the pot.
"Umm, Piper, you got to give me something, it's not like you went to the future!" I frowned.
Piper paused and looked at me, "I don't want to talk about it." She said seriously.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because."
"Because why?" I asked.
"Because...I said so." Piper frowned.
"Umm help!" Bianca screamed.
Piper and I looked at each other before bounding up the stairs. When we got there, we saw Bianca and Melinda standing at the book while Matthew was in the crib. There was a boy with Chris' eyes and hair and Bianca's mouth.
"What's going on here?" Piper asked.
"Matthew wasn't feeling good and I didn't know what's wrong, so I cast a spell..." Bianca said.
"A spell?" I asked.
"To help him talk. He's a baby." Bianca said.
"I'm not really a baby." Matthew smiled.
I chuckled angrily, "You brought my nephew from the future?" I asked.
"No. I didn't mean to!" Bianca said.
"Bianca, that's personal gain." Piper chortled.
"It was Mel's idea!" Bianca said.
"Do you know what this is doing? It's changing the past!" I said, "He stands to change the future."
"Uncle Drake. You...are...pregnant." Matthew said, putting a hand on my stomach, "Dude, you're totally ham."
"I'm ham?" I asked.
"Future lingo." Piper said.
I looked to her, as did everyone else, "How would you know?" I asked.
"I don't want to talk about it." Piper said.
"Grandma!" Matthew said, hugging her.
"We need to send him back." Piper smiled, "This...is cool and all, but..."
"Is this your first kid? No Prudence?" Matthew asked.
"Shush!" Piper said, "You wanna undo this!"
"Grandma's right, but I can't go back until I've done what I came here to do." Matthew smiled.
"And what is that?" I asked.
"Prudence...I didn't name my kid that, did I?" I asked.
-
"You're married, right?" Matthew asked, "This is the time when you're married."
I smirked, "Yes." I said.
"Cool, I got one." Matthew smiled.
"Can you hand me the marker?" I asked.
Matthew looked over to the marker, blinked, and the marker appeared in my hand.
"Personal gain!" I said, "Don't we teach you anything?"
"Not everything easy is personal gain." Matthew said, "You taught me that."
"Oh God, I'm the anti-whitelighter of the century." I frowned, "At least tell me that I didn't name my kid Prudence."
"No." Matthew said.
"Payton. Or maybe with an E." I said.
"I can't tell you." Matthew said.
"You're so...big." I smiled, "I mean, you're built like your uncle Wyatt."
"Thanks?" Matthew said, "You're not a pedophile, right?"
I playful slapped his arm, "No!" I smiled, "I just expected you to be shorter."
"Like dad?"
"He's not that short." I smiled, "He's shorter than Wyatt."
"We're close in the future."
"Really?" I asked.
"You're my favorite uncle." Matthew smiled.
"Really? So, wait...I'm alive in your future?" I said.
"Most of what you teach me is through the book." Matthew smiled.
"So, I'm dead?" I asked.
"Just know you're a presence in my life." Matthew smiled, " It's fun to see this place before the remodeling."
"Remodeling?" I asked
"After it blew up...the second time." Matthew said, looking as if I should know, "Crap."
"This place is going to blow up...again?!" I asked.
"They are gonna be so mad." Matthew frowned.
"Is my daughter...more powerful?" I asked.
"Than me? A little. But we were never told anything but that we were equal." Matthew said, "She's more like you than you know."
"I'm dead, aren't I?" I asked.
"No, but you will be." Fenrir said, causing us to turn to see him, a green demon, and a pale white demon and a vampire.
"Holy cats, it's the Rainbow coalition." Matthew smirked.
"Did I forget to mention I don't have active powers?" I said quickly.
"What?" Matthew asked.
"Get the Summers." Fenrir said.
They advanced towards us and Matthew pushed me back and raised his hand causing the vampire to combust in orbs. He waved his hand to the side, causing all three of the remaining demons to fly back and smash against the wall.
"What's going on up here?" Wyatt said, rushing in with Chris, Melinda, and Bianca.
The demons shimmered out.
"Matthew just obliterated a vampire." I smiled, "So much for vampires being immuned to witchly powers."
"I think we already disproved that theory." Wyatt smiled, "Are you okay?"
"No, I'm fatally pregnant." I smirked.
"That's still not funny." Chris frowned.
"Oh, come on, it's kind of funny." I said, "Anyone."
There was silence.
"Fine." I shrugged.
"Did you finish the spell to send him back?" Wyatt asked.
"Nope." I said quickly.
"Have you been grilling him?" Wyatt asked.
"Yes." Matthew smiled.
"Drake..."
"I just asked some tiny questions." I said, turning to Matthew, "And whose side are you on?"
"Whichever side doesn't know anything about my time." Matthew said, "I could be changing the future. The future that I have to go back to."
"Right. Well, baby, we have to send you back." Bianca smiled.
"Thanks mom."
"That sounds so weird." Bianca said, "Why were demons attacking?"
"They didn't say. I could call them back." I suggested.
"Smartass." Melinda said.
"If this is the time I think it is, then you need to take them out." Matthew said quickly.
"What are you not saying?" I asked.
"You know me well..." Matthew said, "It's like this Unc, Dark Drake doesn't want you dead. He's the ruler of the Underworld. He's connected to you..."
"But there are demons who don't want a witch to be sorcerer supreme." I said.
"And they're trying to kill Drake?!" Wyatt asked.
"Calm down, Unc." Matthew said, "All you have to do is vanquish the demons."
"We have no idea who they are." I frowned.
"One looked like Cole, or what he looks like in the book." Chris said.
"One was a Hamahti." Bianca said, "Green."
"Well, let's kick some ass!" I said.
"We aren't doing anything." Wyatt frowned, "You're the target."
"No. I'm bait." I smiled.
"Bait?! Hell no." Wyatt said angrily.
"They're after me, love." I smiled, "Or the baby. Not as comforting."
"What is going on up here?" Piper asked, coming into sight with Leo, "Why are there two Chris'? Is there ano—Leo..."
"Tell me that's not Matthew." Leo frowned.
"It was an accident." I said.
"Who's accident?" Piper asked.
"Bianca." I smiled.
"It was! An accident that is!" Bianca said defensively.
"Fix this, now!" Piper said walking to Matthew and hugging him, "It's so nice to see you again."
"Again?" Wyatt asked.
"Mind your business." Piper said.
"While we go to find the demons, you fix this." Wyatt said.
"I didn't get to spend any time together." Chris said.
"He's your frickin son! You have the next eighteen years." Piper said.
"Fine. Love you, son." Chris said, grabbing Melinda and Wyatt's hand as they orbed away.
"Then there was us." I said.
"Then there was you." Piper said, dragging Leo away.
"We get no help!?" I frowned, "I'm only here for support."
"You're not going to help me send my son back?" Bianca asked.
"Fine, gimme a pen." I said.
"Pen!" Matthew said, causing a pen to orb into my hand.
"Thanks."
-
"Matthew came, now shall he go, somewhere over wild and past rainbows. Take him now, he cannot stay, away!" I chanted.
"That was your spell? It's been an hour." Bianca asked, "I had time to learn all about my son and you didn't come up with a spell?"
"So was." I said, "Why is he here?"
"What?" Bianca and Matthew asked.
"There's a reason he's here." I said, "He wouldn't have come back."
"Oh! Little Matthew." Bianca said, gesturing to little Matthew, "He's sick."
"Did it escape you that I'm a telepath?" I asked.
"Do your powers work on family?"
"Ugh, they work on everyone." I frowned, "I can't get them to shut up."
"So, how are you standing it?" Bianca asked.
"He gave in to it." Matthew smiled.
"Future boy." I said, "It's not easy, so I gave in. I haven't used it at will yet, but I'm sure I can make it work."
"Go ahead." Bianca said.
I walked over to Matthew and bent down to him. I smiled and placed my fingers on his temple. At first, nothing happened. Then there was sparkage and images flew through my mind! Matthew was lonely. We'd been concentrating on saving me so much that we almost forgot about him.
"No! Matthew, you listen to me, kiddo. We love you! I'm—we're sorry. We're fighting for your future. You probably don't understand. I've been so consumed with sacrifice...I forgot to live with others. I love you. Never gonna end." I said honestly.
"And you know I'll always love you!" Bianca said quickly.
"Thanks." Matthew smiled.
I turned back to Adult Matthew, "You came from me."
"What?" Matthew asked.
"I carried you for nine months." I said, "That's probably what your parents won't tell you. That's why we're so close."
Matthew looked dumbstruck before disappearing in orbs.
"Why did you do that?" Bianca asked.
I looked at her, "It's what he needed to hear." I frowned, "Can you leave the baby with Piper...I need to go home."
"Sure." Bianca said, "Is everything alright?"
"No. Something's wrong."
-
As we were driving, I found myself thinking about what I had just done. Was it selfish to let him find out like that? I couldn't think about it now. As we drove, I felt weird. Cold, even. Bianca was talking to me when all of a sudden, there was a loud smash! A car had struck us!
