I have not written anything in a while, nothing since Just A Scratch actually! I hope you enjoy it! Please please pleeeease email me comments and stuff at numberiv@yahoo.com Thanks!
The sound of the metal arm striking the bell was like music to my ears. I boled out of the classroom and ran across the courtyard in the rain to the one place I could really be alone, the library. I shook my short black hair dry and found an empty table. High school can be a nightmare when you just want some peace and quiet. This was my study period, so I grabbed my notebook and promptly started reading comic books inside it.
"You've eaten Gotham's wealth. It's spirit. Your feast is nearly over."
snarled the Batman.
I half heartedly tried to read, but my mind kept wandering off. I wondered what he was doing now. It's not like I had a crush or anything. I barely even knew the guy. I saw him walking in the hall, and his smile caught my eye. I saw him in the freshman building. I shouldn't have been there, but I was running an errand for a teacher. Call it fate.
I was walking down the hall, forcing my way through the crowds of freshman eager to get their school food and talk about what ever it was they talked about at lunch. I ignored most of them, but when a cute boy runs into you, you cant help but notice. He had his nose burried in a book as he was walking down the hall, and didnt notice the senior talking down the hall. Meanwhile, I was staring straight ahead and didnt notice him headed straight towards me.
There was a bit of a thud when he hit the ground. His book went flying and he seemed really embarrased. I kneeled down to help him up, and his deep brown eyes looked up in to mine. His brown hair hung slightly in his eyes. It was hard to judge his height, but since he ran into me like that, and I am 5 feet 11 inches, I would guess around 5 feet 6 inches. Even during that brief flash, he was beautiful. He looked as if he was about to cry from embarrasment, so I helped him up and smiled at him.
"Sorry about that! I should have been paying attention." I tried to comfort him
"No, It was my fault, sorry." he replied. He quickly got up and ran off towards the door.
"Hey! You forgot your---" I tried calling after him, but It was too late. I walked over and grabbed what he was reading. Batman: Year One. I checked the inside cover for a name, but no luck. He had good taste though. If he was anything like me though, losing that book would likely ruin his day. I had to find him to give it back, and not just because I wanted another look at him. That would just be a bonus.
I ran down the hall to deliver what ever message my teacher had for the freshman teacher and hurried back to class.
Not that I could really focus on US History when I had batman boy on my mind. I always thought I was the only person geeky enough at this school to read comics. The reign of Andrew Jackson seemed like an insignificant detail in my life when I had a young angel going to the same school as me. I thumbed through the book to pass the time, until the bell rang for lunch.
I quickly gathered my things and ran to the cafeteria. It started raining, so I ate inside. My usual lunch crowd chatted on about the happenings in their world, and I pretended to listen. None of them know how I feel about boys, and I dont really know how they would react. Homosexuality is such a running joke with them it's impossible to tell how they would react. What would they think if they knew that I, an average senior, was thinking about a totally adorable freshman boy. I kept looking through the comic book, when something fell out of it. It was a piece of paper with some stuff written on it...
