NOTE OF THANKS and other important stuff :-)

Summer is the slow reading and email season. I am asking for your support in order to keep writing this summer.

Thank you for your past email. I enjoyed your praise of the story and your other good comments. I cherish every email. I hope you email me again.

And you OTHER guys, AHEM! Be bold and brave and do it. It's just little ol' me your writing to.

You might want to know that Nifty has no way of giving me data of any kind. The only feedback is your email. Email is not just a way to fluff the author's ego--it's the ONLY response I get--the only way to know that you're out there reading.

When you write, say whatever you want, long or short. (Extra points for telling me the part(s) you liked. :-) (Double for a long email.)

Nifty provides a great service to us all--with the large number of stories they post--and deserves our donations. You can contribute anonymously. Go to Nifty's front page for more information on donating. (Click the WELCOME link to get there from the "Gay Male" page.) Okay, it's an ad for Nifty, but a very heartfelt one.

Thank you so much. --Dennis :-) StoriesNew@Yahoo.com ___________________________________

MY OTHER STORIES

You can find A LIST OF ALL MY STORIES with a brief DESCRIPTION of each, LAST POST DATE, and NIFTY SECTION at the END of this chapter. This is the most complete list.

Or look under STORIESNEW in the AUTHOR section of Nifty. But NOT under my name. Nifty listed me that way--and it's okay. (Don't know if that will change--I haven't checked it lately.) Not all my stories have been linked there yet. Takes time. ___________________________________

CRAZY FOR CHAD

Michael Stentworth, 16 Alicia Stentworth, 39

Phil Haggerty, 17 Kyle McElroy, 15

FRIENDS MENTIONED ALONG THE WAY: Jake Howard Kevin Hendricks ______________________

As we caught our breath, he licked me clean. Only then did his hardness slide out of me.

"Ohhhhhhh," we moaned in the special pleasure he got when that happened. I loved giving him that, even though it was always a let-down for me when he pulled out, leaving a void nothing else could fill.

"Time to celebrate, helper boy! We just broke in my new room!" ________________

CHAPTER 17

"Celebrate? Sounds good, but how?"

"We'll think of somethin, Mikey."

Chad must have seen the weird look on my face.

"I just remembered--I never answered Kyle's email."

"Oh. Well, you can do that and surf the net while I go to the house and get some stuff."

"Okay." I stared at the screen.

"Okay what?" Chad said. I looked up and his flashy smile was in my face.

"Ohhhh, sorry, stud," I said, kissing him, feeling bad I was so distracted and not paying attention to him.

"Shit, that's better, little guy."

When I checked my email, there were two messages from Kyle. First, he asked what was up that I didn't answer his email. In the second email, I read some weird stuff with a lot of dots and exclamation points. But I figured it out. Kyle said he broke up with Phil. He was a mess, very upset about a lot of things. When I got done reading it, I was as much of a mess as he was.

I felt bad for Kyle. And I felt bad because I was thinking the only other couple I knew just broke up. So I had this sad feeling and disappointment all at once.

"Hey, baby! I got some stuff we can celebrate with!" Chad said, running into the room carrying a bunch of stuff.

"Hi."

He saw my face. "Mikey, what happened?"

"Sorry," I said, wiping my tears. Chad put the stuff down quick and hugged me. He looked so cute kneeing next to my chair. "It's Kyle's email."

"As long as you're okay, Michael."

"He broke up with Phil."

"Oh. Sorry . . . " Chad said, at a loss for words. He kept hugging me, giving me little kisses on my lips and cheek. "So, uh--feel any better now?"

"Well--yeah," I said, feeling the grin on my face.

"Them ain't good tears, I can tell," he said, wiping them gently with his finger.

That was another thing about Chad that drove me crazy--he'd brought stuff up for us to celebrate but was totally cool that I'd sidetracked him. He just went with the flow and held me like I was important. Like nothing else mattered. And in that second, I wasn't upset anymore.

"Oh, Chad," I said softly, hugging him back. I knew I couldn't explain what I was feeling, but I thought maybe my hug would tell him. "Yeah. You made me feel better."

"Shit, little guy, you had me scared there for a sec."

"Kyle's way upset."

"Call him, baby. If he's that bad, we'll go over there and get him. Maybe he can celebrate with us, and we'll cheer him up."

"Chad--really?"

"Yeah. He's one of our friends right?"

I answered him with a kiss. "Chad, that's so good."

"Shit. We can help him," he said.

"Mmm," I said, kissing him again. "Yup."

"Yup."

I gave Chad Kyle's last name, and he looked up the number. I picked up the phone and dialed, worrying that Kyle wouldn't be home, but he answered.

"Kyle! Can you talk?" I said, feeling nervous.

"Yeah, I'm in my room."

"Sorry I didn't answer your email. I just now saw them both. I got really busy, but--how are you." Bad question.

Kyle cried and tried to tell me, but I couldn't understand him. I looked at Chad and shook my head.

"Gimme that," Chad said, reaching for the phone. He pointed to the cordless, so I could pick up and listen. "Kyle, what's your address? Me and Michael will come get you. Okay, buddy?"

"Um, uh--I don't know. I've been . . . crying, and my clothes are a mess."

"Fuck that. You can't stay cooped up in there. You gotta get out. Michael and I are celebrating."

"Celebrating? What for?"

"We'll tell you when we pick you up. What's your address?"

"Eighteen-twenty-one West Oak."

"Got it. Be there in five minutes."

I had to run to keep up with Chad. He flew down the stairs.

"Come on, Mikey!" he yelled, opening the car door and waiting for me. "Make like you're running with the ball!" He had this huge grin that was catching.

"You're so FAST!"

"Hehe! You just gotta start your run sooner!"

We got to the center of town where there was a big square and three other main streets you could take.

"What street is he on?" Chad asked.

"West Oak," I said, grinning at him.

"Oh, yeah that's right. Gotta go left on Main for a while."

After about ten blocks, I saw the sign for West Oak Street. "I guess you turn right," I said, looking left and seeing the sign there said East Oak.

"Yeah," Chad said, concentrating like a bear. I loved when his face got all serious. It brought out his good looks in a special way.

"You're so cute, Chad." Then it hit me that I don't say that to him enough.

"Yeah, uh--what was that house number again?"

"Um--I don't know. I thought you wrote it down."

"I thought YOU wrote it down," he said, starting to get nervous.

'Ooops,' I thought. "I think he said eighteen something."

"Nah, it's more like twenty-eight."

"I swear, Chad. It's eighteen something or other."

"Shit. This'll be fun! Okay, baby, we'll go with eighteen."

I rubbed his neck, knowing that relaxed him.

"It's okay, Chad. We'll find him."

"Hell, yeah," he said, flashing me a quick grin before he got back to looking serious. "But I fucked up."

"No! My stud guy couldn't do that! It's a puzzle just for us. That's why this happened--to give us something to figure out together."

"You would say that. Shit!"

"Look," I said, "there he is."

"Damn, THAT was easy, my lover said with a big smile."

"Eighteen twenty-one, I KNEW it!"

"If you knew it, why didn't you tell me?"

"Oh--I was just testing you."

"Yeah, right!" Chad said, smiling away. I think this was one of those times when I tickled him.

"Hi guys," Kyle said, sounding like eight days of rain, opening the back door and trying to smile. He had a little suitcase with him. I was curious about it but I didn't ask.

"Hop in, Kyle."

"Thanks for doing this," Kyle said to Chad as we took off.

"Hey, no sweat, man."

"So how do you feel?" I said, turning around to face Kyle. "You look a little . . . ruffled." At least that got us laughing.

"A little better now."

"That's great," Chad said. "Time to celebrate."

"What are you guys celebrating?"

I blushed as soon as Kyle asked that.

"Well," I said, "we're celebrating Chad's new room."

"Hehe! That's funny," Chad said.

"What's funny?" Kyle sounded confused.

"He's not tellin' ya the real story. "Me and Michael--"

"No, Chad--let ME tell him."

"Okay, baby."

"He calls you baby?"

"Yeah," I said. "Didn't Phil tell you we're lovers now?"

"I don't wanna think about him," Kyle said, getting gloomy.

Oops!

"I'm sorry." I decided not to mention Phil again.

"No, it's okay. So you guys are LOVERS? That's so cool!"

"Ohh, yeah!" Chad said.

"We're happy," I said.

"Yeah, I can tell. So what's the deal about his room?" Kyle said, leaning forward in his seat.

"Well, Chad and his father built a whole apartment like thing above the garage. It's really cool. And tonight, we, um--Chad made love to me there."

"Oh, MAN." Kyle was happy for us, but his face told me he had a long way to go before he would be over his breakup. "That's hot. I'm really glad you guys clicked."

"Mikey's the best!" Chad said.

"Mikey?" Kyle said, his eyes wide. "That's cute."

"Chad's the best," I said. But I could tell Kyle was hurting. I held his hand while his tears flowed.

"Hey," Chad said, all energetic, but he stopped suddenly.

I turned to look at Chad. He was staring at the rear-view mirror and saw that Kyle was upset. I thought it was so cool that Chad could pick up on things like that and just stop talking.

"So, uh--were going to Chad's house?" Kyle said, wiping his tears and trying to hold it together.

"Yeah--is there somewhere else you wanted to go?"

"No, no--I'm just . . . in a daze."

"I'm sorry, Kyle," Chad said in a tone I'd never heard before, "I know it feels bad, but . . . it won't stay that way."

It wasn't so much the words, but what he said touched me and seemed to perk Kyle up. We were pulling in the driveway now.

"Thanks, Chad. . . . Oh, yeah," Kyle said, leaning down and looking up through the car window at the second floor of the garage, "I see a light up there."

"That's it. That's my new room," Chad said, walking around the car, going to my side to help Kyle out. Not that he needed help, but, it just seemed right.

"Doesn't the new wood smell great?" I said, all excited as we climbed the stairs. "I love that smell."

"Soothing," Kyle said, turning around to give me a quick grin.

"Wait'll you see his room!" I was excited.

"This is beautiful," Kyle said as he walked in. Then he turned to Chad. "I noticed he outside is all brick. Must've been expensive."

"Yeah, it was--a little," Chad said. "You noticed--cool. We did it the right way, too."

"Really--double wall?"

This made Chad grin at Kyle.

"Yeah! So, you know about construction, huh?" Chad said, going into the bathroom.

"I know some," Kyle replied as the bathroom door closed.

"What's double wall mean?" I asked, feeling left out.

"It's the good way to build with brick. You actually build

two brick walls with a space in between," Kyle said. He had an easy way of talking and explaining things. "That makes the house quiet and heat efficient."

"Wow. I didn't know. Where'd you learn about this?"

"My Uncle Stan was in construction. When my dad died, he took me under his wing--sometimes right on the job. He taught me a lot about building houses."

"That's so cool. Sorry to hear about your dad. My dad died, too, when I was younger."

"Makes it rough growing up," Kyle said, looking at me. There was pain in that look.

"Yeah," I said, "especially in school when I'd hear the other guys talking and have no clue what they were talking about."

"That happened to you, too? I thought I was the only one."

"Nope," I said. Then I gave Kyle a serious look. "So--how are you feeling?"

"Right now--pretty good with you guys around. You and Chad could cheer up anyone."

"Thanks," I said, feeling my face heat up.

"Uh, oh--my baby's blushing," Chad said, coming out of the bathroom drying his hands with a paper towel. "What'd you do to him, Kyle?"

I could tell, Chad was joking, but Kyle blushed anyway. Phil was right--he blushed redder than I did.

"I told him a dirty joke and he couldn't take it."

We all laughed.

"Kyle was telling me that you and I could cheer up anyone."

"Cool!" Chad said. "So, you're feeling better, Kyle?"

"Yeah--I really am."

I hadn't noticed the big closet at the end of Chad's bedroom, but when he opened it, I was impressed. It had extra furniture in it. He pulled out three stuffed chairs and we all sat.

"So tell me," Chad said, looking warmly at Kyle, "did Phil do something nasty?"

Kyle got nervous and looked at the floor.

"Look," Chad said, "you know I'm good friends with him, but don't let that stop you. If he did something wrong--if he hurt you--I wanna know."

This was another thing about Chad that drove me crazy--another side of him I hadn't seen. His love showed in lots of different ways. I felt so good that he was talking like this with Kyle.

"Do you know Jake Howard?" Kyle said, obviously ready to talk.

"Yeah--sort of," Chad said, totally focused.

Jake is a junior at our school--a cute guy.

By this time, I was mostly studying Chad. It's funny--you think you know someone, then you see new qualities in them--and these were good things. I felt bad I wasn't paying as much attention to Kyle as I thought I should.

"I overheard Phil talking on the phone with him," Kyle said, taking a deep breath. "Phil was saying sweet things, and how he loved Jake's body. That was upstairs in my room. I was almost at the doorway, coming back with some soda. When I heard that, I got numb and went downstairs and waited."

"Fuck! That sucks big time!" Chad said, mostly controlling his anger. "How could Phil DO that to you?!"

"I--I don't know. I didn't say anything about it to Phil-- that I heard him talking to Jake. I just waited."

I was holding my breath, waiting to hear more, but Kyle stopped talking.

"I'm sorry, man," Chad said. "That really sucks. What happened after that?"

"Nothing for a while. I had a science project--Kevin Hendricks was my partner."

"We know him," I said, glancing at Chad. I blushed, feeling like I interrupted a private conversation.

Kevin is a tight end on the football team--thin, good-looking guy and a good student.

"Yeah," Chad said. "He's on the team. Great guy."

"We really worked hard on the stupid thing. Phil accused me of making out with Kevin. That was so bogus! Kevin is such a shy . . . . " Kyle's tears flowed. "And I never even thought of doing anything with him!"

The dam broke. Kyle cried really bad.

"It's okay," Chad said in the most comforting voice, sliding out of his chair to kneel next to Kyle, putting an arm around his shoulders.

I was thrilled with Chad doing that. It was like he was saying to me, 'I know you respect me and you know I'm not trying to make a move on Kyle.'

And I did know he would never do anything on purpose to upset me. I didn't actually think it at that time, I just knew it. It was like Chad knew how much I trusted him, so he wasn't afraid to get close to Kyle and help him. That felt so good.

By then I had this big grin. When Chad finally looked up at me, I was sure he knew why I was smiling.

"But you knew that was just an excuse," Chad said.

It didn't even sound like Chad. He amazed me with his awareness and skill with people and social situations. It took me a while to remember where they were in the conversation--Phil accused Kyle of making out with Kevin Hendricks.

"Excuse?" Kyle said, wiping his eyes. "No, I didn't know. Not right away. I guess I just . . . wouldn't let myself think that. I kept telling myself maybe I heard wrong, and Phil wasn't saying those things to Jake. But when he didn't call the next day until real late, I knew. We met in the morning. That's when Phil broke it off."

"Did he yell?" Chad asked. "I mean--was he mad?"

"No, he didn't yell."

"Shit--that's when he's lyin! If Phil really thought you were messin with Jake, you'dda heard him yell his head off."

"Yeah," Kyle said, nodding, his face neutral.

"If he came back to you and apologized--would you take him back?" Chad's eyes could have drilled a hole through Kyle.

"You--you're not going to say anything to Phil, are you?"

"No, no, Kyle." Chad said reassuringly. "I'm just thinkin Phil was--I mean he really liked you a lot."

Then I saw it. Kyle was boned--and the way he was looking at Chad!

'Oh, no,' I thought. 'This can't happen.'
