***************************************************************************** From 20:

I looked over, and saw the revolting creature. He had his back turned to us, and was doing something with his hands. He lifted a needle, pulling the thread tight. He turned, and I got a glimpse of part of Justin's body, tightly sewn to Scheharazade's.

Chapter 21:

"What are they doing?" Ryu was pacing over the hill, watching the opposing army. "I don't know. I wish they'd hurry up, and get this done. They look like they're ready to attack at any moment." Rosey was getting just as nervous as Ryu. "Do you think they're in trouble? Malak could've done something." Rosey shot him a look of anger. "Don't say something like that! They'll be here. It's just taking a little longer than expected."

"Your turn." Scheharazade walked to Anthony, and knelt beside him. He pulled out a thin leather thread, and the familiar needle. The thick mist around us shifted away from us, and solidified. The magma was glowing, shifting into a human form. The mouse had grown, and lost it's fur. It's claws had stretched, and thickened. It was now an angel. My forked tongue merged, and grew. My eyes changed back from yellow, to blue. The scales covering my body smoothed. My tail split, and formed legs. My robe shifted away from my body. I stood, my mouth still full of fangs. They slowly retracted, returning to their normal size. Scheharazade sensed our presence, and turned. He smiled, and looked us over. "More victims. This is wonderful! I will be complete by sundown!" He turned back to Anthony, ignoring us for the time being. I walked toward him and he spun quickly. "Don't move!" I ignored him, and kept my pace, followed by JC, Chris, and Lance. "Stubborn little bastards, aren't you? Fine, I will kill you, since you insist."

He drew his broadsword, holding it at arms length. Anthony was now standing, swaying gently. I watched as Scheharazade stepped forward, preparing to attack us. I absent mindedly flapped my wings. He lunged, and slashed at the movement. I sidestepped his swing, and caught him in his stomach with my knee. I had barely missed Justin. "Be careful! Try not to hurt Justin!" I warned the three that stood behind me. JC had kept his wings hidden, to prevent unnecessary sparks. This suppressed a lot of his power. His arms were coated in a liquid fire. He extended his arms, and the liquid began to flow toward our enemy. He moved quickly, and the fire hit the ground. It pooled on the floor, and hissed as it heated the cool marble. Lance was glowing slightly, gathering his energy. Scheharazade hissed, and spat. "An Angel? You really think that holy bullshit can harm me?" He laughed, and stepped toward Lance. Lance was looking up, but suddenly turned his attention to the enemy. He extended his hand, displaying a brilliant light in the palm of his hand.

The light began extending farther, a sharp point forming at the tip. In a flash of a bright red light the spear flew toward Scheharazade. It struck his body with the force of a thousand bolts of lightning. It sent him flying across the room. He hit the wall, and slid to the floor. He looked up at Lance, and laughed. "Is that all you can do, boy?" Lance smirked at him. "You now have the powers of the light flowing through your veins." As he said this, the bodies tightly sewn to Scheharazade's body began to twitch. "All the souls trapped in your body are allies of the light. They cannot be trapped within your body any longer." The leather holding the body parts began to snap, setting the souls free. Those who would have died long ago passed, but those that would still be alive were sent to the other portions of their bodies. I watched as Justin's torso slid across the floor, leaving a trail of blood behind it. It stopped next to his body, and lay lifeless. "Looks like you aren't very talented, boy! You couldn't even bring your little friend back to life!" The smile on Lance's face faded. He collapsed. "Failure..." He trailed off.

Chris was surrounded by four elementals. They danced around him, waiting for a command. "Elementals? Not even the loss of power your friend caused can lower me that much! Elementals are nothing!" Chris grinned wickedly, and silently commanded his friends to attack. The elementals stopped their dance, and turned to Scheharazade. Their faces twisted, and they grew. Their legs changed into whirl winds, gathering the dust from the air. The dust particles, and electric current from Lance's earlier attack gathered inside their bodies. Chris concentrated all of his power, and gathered the moisture in the air. Once he had gathered enough, he sent it into the various whirl winds. This caused tiny ice crystals to form, creating a core of energy, growing stronger with every passing second. The ice cores expanded, covering the djinn's in ice. The ice formed strong armor. The four djinn's advanced, stopping inches from Scheharazade. Their arms sharpened, forming swords of pure ice, with tiny bolts of lightning striking within. Scheharazade slashed at one of them, chipping his sword on it's armor. All four of the creatures raised their swords. They slashed downward, with small sparks of electricity flickering behind their blades. The blades hit his body with a bright flash of power, erupting from them. When the light dimmed, ice crystals could be seen lying on the floor. The last hint of electricity flickered out. Scheharazade stood, unfazed. "I told you elementals are nothing to me." He smiled, and looked at me. "I hope you're stronger than your friends."

I drew my arms back, collecting power trails from the air. The trails could be seen, flowing into my hands. Two balls of light formed, one in each hand. The light melted, and stretched over my arms. It covered them, and continued down. My entire body was glowing brightly when the light reached for my head. When my head was covered, it flashed. My body was now protected by a strong energy bond in the form of a white chest plate, with an unknown bird deeply engraved in the armor. What was left of the glow returned to my right hand. It stretched, and sharpened. My hand disappeared, and looked as if the sword I had created was grafted to my arm. "Impressive." I just nodded. "I'm still going to kill you. There is no avoiding it." With that said, he advanced, slashing with every step. He was leaving himself wide open, so I was expecting some kind of tactic. He wasn't afraid of my blade. I sidestepped one of his blows, and gashed his side. He didn't even wince.

"Ahh, Thank you! I needed that! It was very energizing, to say the least." The blade disappeared from my arm, the armor shattered. "Giving up, are you? Why?" I looked up, into his eyes. I could see the brown fluctuating. What Lance had done to him was trying to push his soul out of it's prison. "You're still alive, aren't you?" He looked around, baffled. "What are you talking about?!" I smiled. "Your soul is still alive. It's all too obvious. It's all too easy." He laughed, bellowing loudly. "My soul? I have no soul. I wasn't born. I was created from pure darkness. I know what you're thinking, but you're wrong. You can't free my soul, and destroy me. Like I said. I have no soul." He laughed again, the black of his eyes slightly overtaking the brown. "Now, I'm going to kill you, and your lost soul will help to complete me."

"We can't hold out much longer! They're eventually going to figure out we're not going to attack! They'll crush us!" Rosey was jumping around hysterically. She saw three figures walking toward her. "Envoy's!" She screamed. Ryu heard her cry from the other side of the hills, and flew to where her voice had come from. He landed next to her, and stared at the three figures. He heard a squeal, and one of the figures began running toward them. The figure latched on to Rosey. "Gail! What took you so long! Where's everybody else?" Gail frowned, and looked toward Joey. "They're clearing the castle of any guards that stayed behind. They're going to be a little late." She lied. "Anyway, it looks like we need to do something about them." Gail said, pointing to the opposing army. She turned to Luke. "What do you think?" He turned to Alexander, with a questioning look. "Well, and air strike would be nice. How many Dragon's do we have?" He asked Rosey. "Including Ryu, and myself we have about two hundred." Luke sighed. "That's it? That'll have to do, I guess. Here's what we can do. Rosey, you and Ryu are the only fully grown flying creatures. You lead the others. Keep them high enough to avoid the arrows. On each of the Dragon's backs should be an archer. Any Dragons that can't breathe fire, or ice should stay back, and let the archers be their firepower. All others should get as close to that army as possible, and give it all they've got!" Rosey nodded, and took off. Ryu flew toward the other side of the hill, and disappeared. The archers on the front line followed Rosey's orders, and ran toward Ryu.

"Gail, what can you do?" Luke had taken command, being used to commanding armies of undead. "I'm probably the greatest healer here, but if it comes down to it I can kick some ass." Luke nodded, and turned to Alexander. "I know I promised never to use these powers again, but I may have to today." Alexander nodded, and turned to walk behind the hill. "Where's he going?" Luke turned back to Gail. "He's going to ride either Ryu, or Rosey. You get to the med. tent. There may be piles of bodies coming in soon." Gail nodded, and turned toward the med. tent. She looked up, and watched as the two hundred Dragons took flight. They sped toward the opposing army, most bellowing flames.

"They're coming! Dragons! Archers, attack!"

"They're out of range! We can't do a thing!"

"We're not going to sit here, and die!"

"Sir! Bianca!"

"Brilliant, Soldier! Just brilliant!"

"Attack!" The Dragons had been circling the encampment for some time, now. The archers pulled back they're bows, and let a wave of arrows fly. The Dragons dived, and spewed fire over the entire camp before quickly returning to the clouds. Alexander seemed to be controlling the fire, commanding it to go where he wished. He motioned for the fire to destroy they're weaponry hut. The hut exploded, sending a ball of flame into the air, adding to Alexander's onslaught. He snapped his fingers, and the ball of fire descended. It hit the ground, seeming to shatter. This caught most buildings on fire, and killed any men that happened to be int he area. Before the army could recover from the flames, and second wave started. This wave was different, though. It sent large shards of ice through the soldiers, killing them instantly. Most of the army was taking shelter behind various things, and did not see the third attack coming. An army of enemy legion was advancing on the camp, slicing any who got in their way. In the center of all the destruction was an old woman, who looked like she could barely walk. The ground around her was scorched, but a circle around her body was untouched. The legion had slaughtered most of the army, but ceased at the sight of the woman. She grinned wickedly, and raised her hand. A loud crack split the air, and a huge lightning bolt struck the legion. The few legion that could walk quickly stumbled to their living allies, and carried them off the battlefield. Bianca stood, laughing at their defeat. She looked up, and instantly half of the dragons fell to the ground, dead. Rosey order the rest to retreat, but returned to the camp. Bianca watched her, but not attacking. Rosey searched for any living allies, but found none. "You are brave, Dragon! That is why you live! Your courage, and trust are what have kept you alive! When you return to your camp you will notice that my spell reached even there. No one was spared, not even the King if he did not believe he could win."

Scheharazade suddenly screamed out in pain. "Damn you, Bianca! I'll be back, you can believe that. My stupid sister played on the doubts of your army. By killing our own, the faith in me is gone. I love blind faith, it gives me strength. For now, though, I will have to leave you with a few friends." He laughed, and vanished, leaving a glowing ball of light. The ball of light floated to Justin's body, and hovered over it for a second. It dropped down suddenly, and connected the parts. Justin stood, and growled. He laughed, and walked toward me. "Why didn't you save me? You had the chance." His eyes were completely black. His fist turned grew fur, and fattened. I knew it was the claw of a bear before it hit. It sent me flying into the door. The impact sent it flying open. My body cracked the marble wall on the other side of the hall. Soon, three more bodies lay beneath three similar cracks. "So, you're an ancient? Amusing." Snickered Justin. "Oh, your friends are here. Hello Vincent, Gabriel. Have you come to die, too?" His wicked grin was full of menacing teeth. Vincent looked away, a tear falling down his cheek. "Anthony." He muttered. He heard a yell from inside, and watched as Anthony's body flew toward Justin's. It connected, sending him flying into the wall beside me. Vincent's expression changed, forming a huge smile. "Scheharazade failed." He whispered. Justin stood, and turned to him. "Master never fails! He saved me from the light, didn't he?" He laughed, and walked toward Vincent. "Prepare to die." Three creatures emerged from the throne room. They snarled, and showed mouths full of fangs. They were covered in dark armor. They, too, were dark knights. They vanished. "Invisible..." I whispered, unable to speak.
