Note: OK ... A few corrections. Boy bands are back, since I'm in the right place now. This computer decided to save the chapter 2 file empty, then send it here in perfect shape. Everything back to how it was supposed to be from the beginning. Sorry about the awful antics of this paper weight they call a computer. Here we go...

****************************************************************************** From Chapter 2:

He looked at me, showing all of those emotions again. I tried, but couldn't find that last one. I was interrupted by a loud crash, and a scream. I ran out the door, followed by Ryan, and headed for the direction of the noise.

What I saw brought my eyes to a glowing black.

The black vibrated through every vein, like the bravery earlier. Only it was flowing through every vein in my body.

***************************************************************************** Now ... Chapter 3:

It stood taller than any creature I had ever seen. I had only heard about these, and read about them in books. Minotaurs were creatures that rarely attacked humans. When they did, though, any person in it's path was destined to die by it's hand. It was gripping tightly to someone. It was squeezing the life out of her. The fear was pulsing through my body. I finally regained control over my emotions, and hid that fear. I hid it deep within my soul, and replaced it with rage. Every drop of rage I had in my body was now pulsating

through me. It felt like raw power. I concentrated my rage, and two swirling bolts of fire extended from the palms of my hands. They intertwined and formed one spear of the hottest flame. I pushed forward with every bit of my physical, and spiritual strength. The spear flew at an amazing speed and struck the minotaur. It tore through his stone-like flesh with a rage of it's own. He dropped the girl and howled in pain. The spear continued to slowly, painfully tear through it's body until it reached it's heart. It flew like a bolt of lightning and struck the wall behind the beast. The minotaur fell to the floor. The heat was so intense it stopped the blood before it began to flow. I watched this entire scene, but couldn't stop the lack of energy from overtaking me. After that moment, all I could remember was darkness.

He was standing by my window. I was in my bed. Ryan was sitting in a chair by the bed. Ryan was sleeping in a very uncomfortable position. He looked at me and gave a look of relief. I climbed out of bed, and went to where Ryan was sitting. I picked him up with some strain and placed him in my bed.

He looked at me seriously and said: "You exhausted yourself." "I hate to see others in pain. I couldn't sit by and do nothing." He rubbed his chin and sighed. "Thats two people you've spared from extreme pain. The way you care for these complete strangers is amazing. Thats a trait you should never lose." I smiled and looked at Ryan. He looked very peaceful, and very beautiful. "You care for him more than you've cared for anyone in your life, don't you?" He sat on the edge of the bed and stroked Ryan's hair as he said this. "Yes, I do." A huge smile spread across his face. "I understand. First you have to admit it to yourself before you admit it to other people." He stood and walked toward the door. "Theres nothing wrong with it. More people are like you than you think." He walked out of my room, and closed the door softly behind him.

He was right. I did need to admit it to myself. For years I had suppressed my feelings and wouldn't let myself fall in love with another man. Not even a brotherly love. Thats how I felt toward Ryan. I knew I would protect him no matter what, but couldn't understand why I felt this way in such a short amount of time. I didn't know him, but I was determined to protect him from everything. I slept in the chair I found him in...

I had a dream that night, full of the hate in their eyes. The screams. I was covered in blood. I had never had a dream so vivid, but why did this dream have to be about that night? Suddenly it changed. I was in a field, surrounded by tall grass. I heard a voice in the distance. "Five beings of great power will come into your life. The one you love will fall. You must move on from the tragedy that will soon unfold. It will not be easy, but you must. That is all I can tell you." The scenery faded into blackness.

There was a knock at the door. I groaned and got up to answer it. It was him. "Sleep a little late?" He asked. I walked to the window and glanced at the sun. It wasn't a sunrise, or even a morning light. It was a scorching midday sun. I shook my head and walked back to the door. "Sorry." I muttered. "No problem. Before you played hero and exhausted yourself, you were headed to room 304, right?" I nodded and retreated to the bathroom to get ready.

When we finally arrived, the class was already started. The wizard was giving a very boring lecture about the proper way to use ice magic. It may have been a boring lecture but everything he said was very important. Ice magic was the key to self defense. Every wizard dreams of mastering the ice spear. Before we entered the room I turned to him.

"Where's Ryan?" I asked. "He's in his room, why?" "No reason." I looked away and walked into the room.

"Mister Sanders!" He was flushed. "I have to thank you." "For what?" I asked. "That was my daughter you saved. She wants to thank you personally, but they wouldn't let her see you. Please visit her. her room is right across the hall from yours. Her name is Gail. For the time being, though, you're late. Sit! Now!" I walked over to an empty seat and made it my own. The old wizard introduced himself. "For those of you who don't know, you can refer to me as Alan. If you call me Mister anything, I will literally light a fire under you." He grinned when he finished his sentence. I think he actually enjoyed lighting fires under his students. I got numerous looks from other students throughout the class. Some of disbelief, some of lust, and a few looked a little jealous. I overheard a conversation behind me: "He took out a minotaur with one blow!" "No he didn't! Thats a lie. Only veteran wizards can do that!" "Didn't you hear Alan? He said he saved his daughters life!" "From a minotaur? I hardly believe that." I couldn't contain myself any longer. I turned around and looked the disbeliever dead in the eyes. "Believe it, or not. I'm still better than you." I smiled sweetly and turned back around.

After the class ended Alan told me to stay behind. Most of the other students thought I was in trouble for what I said. I realized I had no idea where to go from here and he was probably going to tell me. I was right. "You get an hour to do whatever, then you're off to room 305. I don't know why, but the headmaster, as he calls himself, cares for you. He's being extremely nice by making sure your classes are relatively close together. He trusts you more than he trusts himself. Don't betray that trust." I nodded and walked out of the room.

I headed for my room. I tried to keep my eyes open, but something was pulling me into the dream world.

I dreamed of that night again...

"This is your fault! You brought them here! Kill him! Kill him before they come back!"

"No! I didn't do anything! Please! No!"

There was a flashing light and I was in an alley with a strange man.

"Leave now! They'll kill you if you don't go!"

"No! I won't leave you!"

"It's not me they're after! I'll be fine! Now, go!"

The light flashed again and I was in a field.

"Where am I? Someone help me! Please..."

Flash. I was in a town. The town was burning and I was covered in blood.

"You ... why? Why did you do this to us?"

"I ... I didn't ... I wasn't ..."

"You're evil! You were sent from hell!"

Flash. I was in the field with the grass again. I heard the voice, but it was much closer.

"Five beings of great power will come to you. Someone you love will die. You must move on from the tragedy that will occur. It won't be easy, but you must!"

To be continued...

I would consider myself a freak, as I'm sure you would. AOL and ICQ are plenty for me. : ) I can't really say I'm sorry for this being so short ... or anything about it being the right size. All I know is I took a lot out, put a little in. I hope it's long enough. If not, say so and I'll make chapter 4 extremely big. Ain't I nice. ;-)
