AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is an Alternative Universe kind of story, while it has some Nsync members as main characters, it happens in a dimension where Nsync doesn't exist.

DEDICATION: To my personal cheerleaders: Joie, Dara, Red and Carmen... I'll have a full squad soon ;-) And to Aph, who urged me to get rid of Nick and bring in a BBMak boy.

DISCLAIMER: As much as I've been working on that deal with the Devil, I still don't own or even know Nsync or any of the characters. It's just something my twisted mind made me write.

CRUEL INTENTIONS CHAPTER 10 by Rick - jc.chasez@gmx.net

Justin couldn't sleep well all night. He was looking forward to meet this Mark guy. He had called him after getting home and after some initial reluctance, he had agreed to meet him. He wanted to see if the bleached sucker hadn't been a complete waste of his time. Mark was studying in a different highschool and Justin was going to pick him up. He rushed when he got done at school and was there so fast that he was lucky he didn't get a ticket. Mark recognized the car and walked to where Justin was parked. He knocked lightly on the window. "Hi, I guess you must be Justin. Mark Barry" he said extending his hand. "Oh, hey!" said Justin, taking off his blue Oakleys and shaking Mark's hand. "Wanna get in here?" "Sure" and he went to the passenger's side. "Have someplace in mind?" "Um, there's a Starbucks a couple of blocks down the street" "Let's go then"

They got their coffees and sat down. "So, what did you want to ask me?" //He's pretty cute. Must be something in the water from Maryland...// "Justin?" "Oh! Sorry, I drifted... Mark, you were referred to me by Lance, the hairdresser" He thought for a second. "Oh, yeah! Le coiffeur" he chuckled. "Yeah..." Justin rolled his eyes. "He told me you might know somebody" "I see, and who would that be?" "Uh, do you happen to know Joshua Chasez?" Mark's expression changed to a frown.

"Everything okay?" "Um, yeah... I do know him, why?" "Er... see, he's new at school and he's a friend of my step-brother..." "And?" "Um, Lance also told me you're gay..." "WHAT??? Albino punk! That's none of his business!" "I'm sorry, Mark. I don't mean to be intrusive" "It's ok. I'm out and all, but yet I don't feel comfortable when some asshole tells a stranger all about my life" "Don't worry Mark. I'm gay too... I do girls sometimes, but I mostly long to be with guys" "So how does Josh fits into this picture?" "Well, um, my step-brother wants him, but he doesn't know if he's into guys" "Somehow I think this is one of those stories where the step-brother is actually you" "Me? Er, no! I care about my step-brother, so I want to know" // Yeah, right // "Well, I can't help you. I wouldn't know for sure" "For sure? But you have doubts, I gather" "There's a reasonable doubt" "Really?"

Mark gave Justin a long look. "I'm going to tell you, I think I'm over it now" "... I met Josh three years ago. We went to the same school, same church and lived nearby" "We made friends pretty soon, he's a really nice guy and so cute" "Yeah, tell me about it" // Oops! // "I mean, Rick says that all the time..." "Hmmm, anyway. Back then, he had a girlfriend. Her name was Bobbi" "Bobbi? Was that a girl or a dog?" Justin chuckled. Mark smiled. "Well, a dog would have been nicer. She was a nasty bitch. I think his father wanted him to date her" "Oh, that's awful" "Yeah, he was a different person around her. He didn't smile even. And let me tell you, his smile lights up a room" "Oh, I see you haven't forgotten him..." "I guess... It's though, you know? But I'm mostly over him" "Ok, go on" "We spent a lot of time together. By that time, I was uncertain about my feelings" "I also had a girlfriend, but she never made me happy. And when I was with Josh, the time went by so fast. We spent whole nights talking" "I see" "Until I came to realize that I was in love with him" "And did you tell him?" "Not right away, I was afraid" "I understand" "But I dumped my girlfriend... and Josh and I spent more time together. I hated when he had to go to see the bitch" "And then, one day I decided I had to tell him. I was sure he felt something for me too. We hugged and could be silent together without feeling uncomfortable" "What happened?" "One night I told him that I couldn't take it anymore, that I was tired of living a lie. I told him that I was gay and in love with him" "What did he say?" "He freaked out. He told me he didn't like me that way and that we should stop seeing each other" "I cried for days, I was scared. I thought that he was going to tell everybody. But he didn't, he just stayed away from me and that hurt me so much" Mark's eyes watered. "I'm sorry to hear that" "It was then that my father got transferred to NY and I thought it was for the best" "So, how come you say you're not sure? I think he's straight then" "Well, the night before I moved, he left a note on my window. It said, I think I have doubts too" "Oh my! And you didn't talk to him?" "No, I just couldn't deal with it. I found out a month later that he and the bitch broke up and she suicided" "What?" "Yeah, I guess she was trying to get him back and it went wrong. She wasn't the depressive type" "Wow" "But I never spoke to him again. I don't know what happened really" "Damn! Thank you so much for sharing this with me, Mark" "No problem. Better tell your step-brother not to get his hopes too high. Josh might be gay, but he's not ready to admit it" "I'll tell him" "But it was nice to meet you, Justin", Mark said with an affectionate smile. "Yeah, same here. Say, why don't you give me your number and we can go out sometime" "I'd like that", he wrote down his number on a napkin. "Talk to you soon" "I look forward to it", Mark placed his hand softly on top of Justin's, then he got up and left. Justin stayed sipping his coffee and thinking of what he had just heard.

TBC...

Next time: Coach gives Justin some bad news. Who would have thought that someday I would be posting a chapter 10? and also, someone should have told me that the way to get people to write me was threatening Justin's life, LOL. Write!

Next: Chapter 11
