Curious Nick By: Grindhl
Chapter I
It was around 11:30 at night when the members of the Backstreet Boys were getting restless from the noise that was coming from their neighbors room, in a hotel suite of a charming Massachusetts bed and breakfast. The sound of a headboard banging on the wall, the moans of pleasure coming from a man and woman making passionate love, and Christ, the damn pictures were practically falling of the walls. But all of this was much different for Nick Carter in the next room, who was the one making all that noise. The sex with his on-again off-again girlfriend, Vicky, was becoming pretty routine, planned out, and lacking in passion and spontaneity. Sure she was a dynamite in bed, but Nick desired something different. He didn't quite know what it was, but he knew that his time with Vicky would soon come to an end. He wasn't quite sure if he truly loved her, or if he even loved her from the beginning.
So, as usual, Nick pulled out of Vicky and climaxed over her chest and stomach, and before he collapsed on the bed to fall asleep (also as usual), he heard a knock on the door to his suite.
Nick forced his tired and aching body out of his bed, took a pair of briefs from his dresser drawer and put them on to conceal his enormous erection. Before he even thought of opening the door, he put on his robe so he wouldn't be embarrassed by the bulge in his underwear.
Nick opened the door and his fellow band-mate Kevin Richardson stood before him with a concerned look on his face.
"Yes, can I help you?"
"Yes Nick, I think you can. We have a photo shoot tomorrow."
Nick was absolutely stunned. He couldn't believe that Kevin would tell him this now, during his vacation, at this time of night.
"You've got to be kidding me! Why would you wait until now to tell me this?"
"Well, I've been trying to tell you for about two hours now, but you obviously have some company."
"How do you know that?"
"You're robe is undone."
Horrified, Nick tied his robe around his waist to once again, hide his bulging package.
"Nick, are you with Vicky?"
"Never mind that right now. Where in Boston are we having the shoot?"
"OOPS, I forgot to tell you that we have to go all the way back to New York for the shoot."
"Kevin, I'm on vacation right now!"
"I'd say it's more like a pleasure cruise."
"Knock it off! What am I going to tell Vicky?"
"Well, you should tell her that something unexpected has just come up and you'll have to take a rain check on the vacation. So, we'll see you in the lobby tomorrow at 8am sharp. So get some rest."
"Don't worry, I won't!"
Nick slammed the door in Kevin's face and turned around.
"Vicky, we have to talk."
Chapter II
The Boys decided to take a scenic train ride to New York because, after all, they were on their vacation. But the ride was more like a mandatory detour out of their private lives, which are so short-lived in the music business. Nick used the ride for some personal reflection on what happened the night before. After he told Vicky that he had to leave her for the photo shoot, she completely lost interest in him. She wanted a man who was going to be a full time boyfriend. To her, things were always coming up at the last minute. She wanted Nick to be there for her whenever she needed him. But Vicky wasn't a complete idiot. She knew that Nick was a very busy young man and that he couldn't help being called away all the time. But this time, however, she had reached her breaking point.
Before the train came to a halt, Nick let out a single tear. A tear out of sheer frustration.
Nick was the first to exit the train so he stood by the door to wait for the other guys. The train emitted a large amount of steam around the door blocking Nick's view, then suddenly, a young man appeared out of it. He was very handsome, well dressed, around six feet tall, short blond hair, a good solid build, light skin, and electrifying blue eyes. Even though it was only for a short moment, the two men noticed each other and went their separate ways.
Nick was completely frozen, and before he could even move, Brian came up from behind him and snapped his fingers in his face.
"You okay man? You look like there's not a breath left in your body."
"No, I'm all right Brian. I...... did you see him?"
"No. What are you talking about?"
"I'm sorry, I must be day dreaming or something."
"Well snap out of it because we have to be downtown in half an hour."
Chapter III
When the boys arrived at the studio, they were taken to the dressing room where they were given their wardrobe and instructions. The supervisor of the shoot was hidden in the corner of the room having a panic attack. Kevin asked the cameraman behind him what was wrong and he said, "Oh, that's our supervisor. He's kind of in a jam right now because Alex isn't here yet and he's behind in his schedule."
"Who's Alex?"
"The photographer. He just arrived from Boston on a train and he must be stuck in traffic."
Nick immediately froze. But before he could enjoy the moment, Howie opened his big fat mouth.
"We just came from Boston on a train! Maybe we saw him there. What does he look like?"
"Oh, sort of like this young man over here", said the cameraman pointing to Nick. "But a little shorter than him."
Finally, after the supervisor nearly had a heart attack, Alex made his grand entrance into the studio, apologized for being so late, and introduced himself to the boys. He shook all their hands and then made his way over to Nick.
"Why do I feel like I've seen you somewhere before?"
"We have", said Nick. "It was this morning on the train from Boston."
"Oh that's right. I'm sorry. Because I'm a photographer, I live my life in a dream world. Well anyway, I'll see you out there after you get dressed."
During the entire shoot, Nick couldn't keep his eyes off of Alex. There was something about him that made him feel like he's known him his whole life. He had this attitude that Nick recognized. It was that boyish carefree attitude that Nick used to have. Not the one that he uses as a Backstreet boy, but the one he used to have around his friends and family. This is the very same attitude that was slowly diminishing with his relationship with Vicky. Suddenly, a shock wave hit him. He began to question his sexuality. He was strangely attracted to Alex and knew that he needed to get closer to him to rekindle that old feeling he used to have. Gay or straight, it didn't matter right now, but he was still very confused as to what his future would be with this young man.
After the shoot was over, the other band members left for their hotel, but Nick stayed behind.
"So Alex, how long will it take to develop the photos?", Nick said.
"Well, I just have to take them to my apartment, develop them, which won't take very long, and then scan them into my computer and do a little editing."
"Sounds interesting, can I come with you?"
"Well if you want to, you can. But I'll warn you, it's going to be a little boring."
"I don't mind boring. As you can see, I don't get out that much."
Nick couldn't believe what he had just done. He had just invited himself to someone else's apartment who he barely knew. He was being spontaneous.
