Chapter Six: Familiar
Mandy spent the next few weeks getting to know her new friends. Dana, Hanna, Emma and Sasha had all started to make a real effort with Mandy and refused to let her be the sad loner she had been when she arrived. Despite everything that had happened, Dana was a nice girl, a little spoiled but she had a good heart and was very smart. Hannah was a bookworm though she hated the stereotype. Hannah was very artistic and was always doodling in her work books, she seemed to be top of their Art Class. Sasha was just Sasha, a little naive and a bit ditsy but she was a good girl with nothing bad to say about anyone though Mandy couldn't quite drop the idea that there was still more to this girl than Sasha was letting on about herself.
The girls ate lunch together every day and hung out afterwards in the playground. They did offer to spend time with Mandy after school but she kept refusing, making up stories to get out of it which Lilith wasn't all to happy about. One day however it was Sasha who wouldn't take no for an answer. "We're going to my house," she said, grabbing Mandy's gloved hand that Friday evening, "You're going to stay for dinner, meet my family and then you'll spend the night." She really wasn't letting Mandy say no. "It's the least you can do really, seeing as you hit me."
Mandy blushed, if she was a normal Human and not a Sexual Demon she might have seen the innocence in this but now, after a few weeks since her last feeding, she looked at Sasha hungrily. Lilith clearly enjoyed that train of thought, if her emotions in Mandy's mind were anything to go by.
"What about the others?" Mandy looked at the three other girls who waved Sasha and Mandy off.
"It's just us," Sasha told Mandy, she had a strong grip and Mandy found that she had trouble just trying to shake free. It wasn't long before Mandy was stood at the door to Sasha's house. A sense of unease filled the little girl, she was suddenly quite unsure about going inside.
"You feel it too?" Lilith's voice suddenly spoke in Mandy's head, "I told you this girl is different!"
"What's wrong with me?" Mandy couldn't quite understand her fear of the house.
"A ward," Lilith explained, "A spell that stops Demon's from entering the threshold." Lilith materialized in front of Mandy and knelt down in front of Sasha then began to make silly faces. Lilith eyed Sasha for a few seconds before laughing when their eyes finally met and Sasha giggled playfully. "You can see me can't you?"
Mandy took a step back, wondering what was going on. "It's okay," Sasha assured Mandy, "I know about Demons and such."
"How?" Mandy was a little shocked that Sasha could see Lilith. Was this why Sasha kept smiling at her the other day, but why?
"My family are Witches," Sasha explained, "Well, the girls are."
"Ooooh Witches are fun," Lilith faced Mandy, "They're special Humans that have their own power, you know, magic." Despite already having used her own kind of magic, being attacked by a massive bull-man and practically living with her own Demon, Mandy was having trouble grasping this new piece of information.
"Come inside, Mom will explain everything," Sasha walked into her small house and stood by the door with an inviting smile.
Lilith stood with her arms folded across her hefty chest. "We can't go in while that ward is up," she told Sasha who had a sudden look that screamed 'Oh yeah!' Mandy watched as Sasha put her hand up in front of her. A few seconds of silence passed where nothing happened but Mandy guessed that Sasha had done something to the ward as Lilith was easily able to go inside now. Mandy followed nervously, still unsure of the whole situation. Sasha led them into the lounge and Mandy sat beside Lilith on the sofa.
"So how did you find out about my Kavorka?" Lilith suddenly asked.
Sasha explained everything. "My Mom used her magic to find you when she sensed a Demon in our school," Sasha indicated to a crystal ball sitting atop a small pedestal on top of a shelf, "She told me to get close to you when it became apparent that the Demon wasn't dangerous, I was so surprised to see the First Wife of Adam sitting on your desk one day."
"First Wife of Adam?" Mandy looked at Lilith who was fidgeting nervously where she sat, "Does she mean 'the' Adam, like Adam and Eve?"
"It's complicated," Lilith simply said, "Let's just say he and I didn't work out."
"Don't forget Mother of Demons, Sasha," a new woman had walked into the living room carrying a tray of mugs. Mandy could smell hot cocoa. This woman looked like Sasha with the same strawberry blonde hair cut short though her eyes were brown while Sasha's were green. The tray was set down on a small coffee table and Mandy counted four mugs.
Lilith reached down and took one. "It's so nice to be a wanted guest," Lilith cooed happily as she sipped on the cocoa, "This doesn't happen nearly enough."
"Welcome to our home Lady Lilith," the older woman said with a slight bow, "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Don't be so formal," Lilith waved her hand. Mandy picked up a mug after Sasha started drinking too, she still felt uneasy. The other woman sat down beside Sasha and held the little girl lovingly. Mandy was sure now that this was her mother and not an older sister or anything. Lilith looked at the pair and Mandy could feel the lust coming from her.
"Lilith," Mandy hissed, "Try to control yourself." Lilith grinned wickedly and just started to play with her nipples in full view of the room, completely unashamed. Mandy looked at Sasha and her Mom but they seemed no less fazed than Mandy would be at this point.
"It's alright Mandy," Sasha's mom assured her, "Lady Lilith will act as she pleases regardless of what we say." Sasha was happily drinking her cocoa and Mandy was reminded of the cup in her hand. She took a tentative sip but smiled as the warmth spread throughout her body.
"Now," Sasha's mom got serious, "You're Kavorka, correct?" Mandy nodded, "And you punched my daughter when she tried to hug you?" Mandy blushed in embarrassment this time but still nodded, "That was the first hint though I was also ready to curse you myself for hurting my little girl."
"You should have made wearing clothes hurt," Lilith offered, "She'd have to be naked forever."
"I'm not really into cursing children," the older woman smiled at Lilith's antics, "In any case, Sasha forgives you, and so will I." Mandy offered her thanks and Sasha smiled happily, "Now let's get to why I asked Sasha to bring you here."
"First off, my name is Hilary Hansel," the woman offered, "Now, let me ask a few questions," Hilary looked at Mandy directly, "Do you know why Kavorka are rare, I'm sure Lilith explained this?" Mandy nodded, conforming her query, "Have you been attacked by the Light?"
"A Shedu paid her a visit," Lilith's eyes glowed a dark shade of red, "That bastard nearly killed my cute little Kavorka."
"Yes we've had many dealings with their kind," Hilary sighed, "Annoyingly stoic and completely dedicated to their causes, nothing save death can deter one." Mandy looked confused, "Witches don't belong to the Dark or the Light like a Demon does, Mandy," she was told, "We may use magic but we're still Human and thus neutral."
"So why am I here?" Mandy asked, desperate for answers.
"We'd like to offer you protection," Hilary explained, "You're young so your power is weak for now and we may be able to hide you while it grows so you're invisible to other Demons." Lilith beamed at the idea and looked at Mandy encouragingly.
"This is a good offer," she told Mandy but then looked back at Hilary, "What do you want for it?"
"I want Mandy to become Sasha's Familiar," the woman said bluntly, "I also want to cast a spell that will break her ties to her family and have her stay with us as no Demon would dare attack her if she is claimed by a prominent Witches Coven."
"What does that mean?" Mandy sounded confused about the whole 'breaking her ties' thing.
"They want your family to forget you even existed," Lilith sounded annoyed, "Really now, Mandy is barely a Demon and you want to make her a Familiar?"
"Becoming a Familiar will effectively complete her transition into a Demon," Hilary told Lilith, "She's pretty much more Demon than Human at this point anyway."
"In any case Mandy, you're very presence in your grandparents home puts them at risk," Hilary continued, "You have no wards in place so if a Demon senses you at home you'll have no barriers to stop them from going in and slaughtering you and your grandparents."
"I've been masking her presence for a while," Lilith assured Hillary, "I can protect my pet."
"Lady Lilith," Hilary remained calm as she spoke, "Mandy is growing in power faster than any Demon I've met, you can't hide your fatigue from me and Sasha told me that you've been spending more and more time out of your physical form," Hilary gave Lilith a concerned look, "You're going to kill yourself if you keep trying to protect her alone."
Mandy looked up at Lilith with a worried look but received a comforting smile. "I'm fine Kavorka, I can keep up with your power growth."
"I'd give you a month before you finally run out of power," Hilary butted in, "Then all manner of Demons will come and by then I cannot intervene, Mandy will die and you will be sent back to the Demon Realm broken and weak." Hilary suddenly stood up and stretched out her hand. Mandy noted that nothing appeared to be happening like before until Lilith suddenly fell unconscious on the sofa.
Hilary sighed. "Lady Lilith you truly have weakened yourself for her," she rubbed her forehead, "Mandy, Lady Lilith may have claimed you but the choice to become a Familiar is yours alone," she indicated to the scar on Mandy's cheek, "Lilith being with you all this time is purely her choice and not the cause of her spell so she'll still be with you."
"How can you protect me while Lilith can't?" Mandy confronted, "Lilith is a Demon, you're just Humans?"
"A Witches ward is humanities most powerful weapon against Demons," Hilary explained, "No Demon or Deity can break a Ward, not even God himself." Hilary knelt down in front of Mandy, "We're asking a lot of you, your family will forget you ever existed but at the same time all the bad things that happened because you're a Kavorka will disappear."
"You're Uncle will no longer be in prison, he'll simply appear back home like nothing had happened," Hilary gave Mandy a hopeful look, "You're Mother's name will be untainted by what she did to you, she will be remembered much more fondly."
Mandy felt tears sting her eyes at the thought of her Mother being freed from the terrible act she had committed. Her Uncle would also be able to live free and clear of any guilt and her grandparents would be able to live safe from the dangers that inhabited Mandy's new world.
"What do I have to do?"
"Nothing at all, just sit still," Hilary stood back, "Since Lady Lilith is unconscious I can do this quite quickly." Hilary put a hand on Mandy's cheek. Mandy flinched away from the contact but Hilary just smiled. "Don't worry, your Curse won't work on me if I don't let it." Hilary stroked Mandy's scarred cheek, who reveled at the warm human contact.
"I implore the spirits of the Hansel Coven to break the claim set by Lilith, First Wife of Adam and Mother of Demons on this Kavorka," Hilary was chanting and as she did Mandy felt a warmth on her cheek, "I, Hilary Hansel, now claim this Kavorka as a familiar and thus complete her transformation into a Demon."
Mandy felt a sudden rush of power enter her body though she couldn't explain the feeling. It was like she had just jumped into a pool of icy water and had become completely awake and aware. Hilary put a hand on Sasha's head after the girl had moved to her mother's side/ Hilary began to chant again but this time in a different language.
There was no fantastical lights show or magical supernova that Mandy had seen in movies but just a calm silence. A glowing brand had appeared on Mandy's shoulder right over where her knife wound scar was and the only reason she could see it was because she was completely naked. Her clothes were nowhere to be seen.
Mandy rushed to cover her nudity but Hilary moved Mandy's hands down to the girls side. "The means the spell worked," she assured her, "It removed your humanity and reset you to your natural Demonic state," she told the blushing girl, "Your skin is your source of power so your new natural form will not hide it." Mandy then wondered about Lilith's nudity, figuring it was probably by choice.
This revelation didn't surprise her in the slightest.
"Can I please have something to wear?" Mandy asked timidly.
"Of course dear but first," Hilary picked up the girl and wrapped her up in a comforting hug, hands supporting her exposed bottom, "I bet you haven't had a human hold you in a while?" Mandy enjoyed in the contact, it had been so long since she had hugged anyone but Lilith. The contact while naked also excited her a little.
"Mom she's hungry," Sasha said suddenly and Mandy stared at her, confused, "I can sense your feelings, you're my Familiar after all."
"Ah good the link works then, remember what we discussed Sasha," Hilary moved Mandy towards Sasha, "Mandy is your responsibility."
"Witches who claim a Demon have to honor the pact by sating it," she indicated to her arm which seemed to be covered in scars, "Any good witch will offer her blood to a Demon who drinks it but in this case she'll allow you to drink the way you do."
Mandy looked at Sasha who seemed a little nervous. "I'll Hunt tonight," she stated, "I won't do anything you don't want to do right away Sasha."
Mandy heard a loud yawn behind her. Lilith had finally woken up. The naked Demon stared around the room before registering the scene in front of her. "Did you accept their offer Kavorka?" she asked and Mandy nodded. Mandy expected Lilith to be angry but instead just shrugged, "I'm not so proud that I won't admit defeat, we'll both protect her alright?"
Hilary nodded her affirmation, "Absolutely, we'd be honored to have you in our home Lady Lilith."
Lilith pulled Mandy over and sat the naked girl on her own bare lap. "Isn't this fun Kavorka, being a little slave to this family?"
"Don't make it weirder," Mandy rebuked...
Mandy awoke the next morning in a bed beside Sasha. Hilary had told Mandy that they would have to share Sasha's bed as they had no spare room for Mandy. The room itself was too small for a new bed as well so the two girls ended up in Sasha's queen sized one.
Mandy's movement woke up Sasha who eyed her familiar with a friendly smile. "Hi," she said softly, "Are you okay?"
Mandy shrugged, "It's a little strange waking up beside you," she said with a nervous smile.
"Don't worry," Sasha wiggled closer to Mandy, "It's a little weird for me too, Mom had to convince me to take you as my familiar, it's why I decided to get to know you better, you know?"
"Why couldn't I be your Mom's familiar then?"
"She already has one, a Demon called Beleth" Sasha explained, "But he's in the Demon Realm right now tending to his own business." Sasha got up and stripped out of her nightgown. Mandy stared hungrily at the girl as she stood naked in front of her but she kept herself in check though she regretted not Hunting last night.
"Mom will have breakfast ready before we go to school," Sasha stated as she fumbled through her drawers. Mandy had been eyeing the naked girl's cute little butt but snapped herself out of her perverted state. Both girls got dressed, Mandy opting for her thick layers, and left their bedroom.
Sasha finished changing into her day clothes and took Mandy's hand. Once again Mandy was shocked by the sudden contact but reminded herself that Sasha and her family were immune to her Curse. Breakfast was an enjoyable affair and Sasha's father was even there. He was a nice guy who seemed happy enough to have her in their home.
Lilith made an appearance just as the girls left the house. Mandy kept a firm grasp on Sasha's hand, enjoying the innocent skin on skin contact that she had been denied for months and Sasha seemed happy to oblige her.
When they arrived at school Dana, Hannah and Emma were already waiting at the front of the school building. "Hey," Dana approached Sasha and wrapped and hugged her friend. Dana didn't hug Mandy thanks to the 'I don't like being touched' lie.
"Did you enjoy your little private sleepover," Emma said as she approached.
Sasha beamed pleasantly and nodded, "Mandy is so much fun, she really came out of her shell." Sasha nudged Mandy playfully who only nudged her back.
"You're always so prudish," Dana said accusingly, "Why don't you be a little more open around us?" Mandy giggled nervously. "Don't worry, we'll have you wearing dresses by summer," Dana stated when they separated, "No more of this," she indicated to all of Mandy.
Mandy headed back home to her grandparents after school ended. About halfway there however she suddenly remembered that they would have no idea who she was anymore. Was that really the case?
"Go and see," Lilith urged gently, making her first appearance of the day, "Just be prepared for the worst." Mandy steeled herself and kept on going to the house. She approached the sizable house and saw her grandfather tending to his garden as he liked to do on a sunny day like this. Mandy approached the fence and he saw her, offering a pleasant smile.
"Nice flowers aren't they," he said to her, "Do you like flowers?" He knew Mandy liked flowers, or at least he had it seemed. "What's your name kid, you new to the block?"
Mandy was a little taken aback at his unfamiliarity but she didn't want to make him feel bad by running away. She persevered and answered his question. "I'm Mandy, no I don't live nearby and yes I like flowers," she smiled back at him as he chuckled merrily.
"Come inside and help then," he offered, "I won't bite." Mandy opened the simple wooden gate and entered the garden she knew so well. "Name's Tom," he told her, "My wife, Margaret, is inside baking." Mandy smiled, Grandma had always enjoyed baking sweets. He handed Mandy a small trowel and indicated to the patch of soil. "Why don't you work around the memorial there, make sure you dig up any weeds?"
Mandy nodded, he had always been a little imposing but he hated seeing kids being idle so this was his way of being kind. Mandy read the memorial, it was one dedicated to her mother though to her surprise it read differently than before. It had once read 'Dedicated to Madison who tragically left us too soon' but now read that she had been 'taken from us too soon' which meant the spell had actually changed the way people thought she had died.
Mandy felt like crying, the pain of losing her mother still hurt and now the sudden realization of losing her entire family had hit her. "You okay Mandy?" Tom asked, snapping Mandy back to reality, "Hay fever?"
Mandy sniffed but nodded, "I'm fine," she managed to say, "I can still help." Mandy ended up losing track of time and stayed until the gardening was done. It was nearly time for dinner when they finished so Tom invited her in.
"Come have a drink before you go home," he told her, "I'll pay you for the work, you did good kiddo." Mandy blushed at being called 'kiddo' as she had always been 'Princess' to him. Margaret appeared at the door holding a small bag.
"I saw your little helper, I made a fresh batch of cookies so why don't you take some home sweetheart?" Mandy was offered the bag which she took.
"I have to go," Mandy said to Tom, "Don't worry about paying me, it was fun." Tom shook his head however and insisted that he wasn't allowing her to work for nothing so she almost grudgingly took the ten dollar bill he offered.
"Come back on Saturday, the weeds grow fast," he told her bluntly. Mandy nodded, happy to spend time with her old grandparents even if it was just in this way. As Mandy left, Lilith appeared and yawned loudly as she floated beside her pet.
"That was boring," she moaned, "Why did you stay that long?" Mandy had turned away from Lilith who now heard Mandy's sobbing. Lilith's expression softened and she hugged the girl from behind, "Oh my poor sentimental Kavorka," she said soothingly, "You'll always have me you know, even when everyone else is gone."
