Chapter 6

Kevin woke to the sun streaming through the hotel window. He yawned and felt the warm body next to him. Smiling, he remembered yesterday. He lightly kissed Jeremy's tanned skin.

"Wake up, love," he whispered, kissing his ear. Jeremy groaned and pressed against Kevin's chest.

"No, too early," he pouted, his eyes still closed.

"Wake up," he repeated, running his fingers along his lover's chest. Jeremy squirmed under the touch and softly swatted at Kevin's wandering fingers.

"No, me sleep more," he whimpered and pulled himself deeper under the covers.

"You're so cute," Kevin giggled and pulled the youth up against him. Jeremy flipped over, noticing the sun trying to break through his eyelids, and buried his head in Kevin's chest. The scent filled his lungs. An unknown scent. A scent that immediately brought his eyes open. Where was he? A slight tinge of fear filled his veins. Who was this strange person holding him? Without thinking, Jeremy pushed a baffled Kevin away from him and rolled out of the bed. Standing, panting, confused out of his mind at what was going on. "Jeremy?" Kevin looked at him, a pained look on his face. Jeremy was still heavily breathing, he saw who he had been with. His breathing slowed.

"Kev, I'm sorry. I was confused. I didn't know where I was," Jeremy told him, tears streaming down his face.

"Oh, Jay," Kevin cooed, getting up and wrapping his arms around the trembling boy. "Shh, don't cry. It's okay. I understand." Jeremy felt safe in those arms. Arms he had only dreamed about holding him.

"Kevin?"

"Yes, love?"

"Can we take this slow? I'm not ready for a sexual relationship."

"As slow as you want."

"Thanks, Kevvy," he grinned and kissed Kevin's shoulder.

"Anything for you."

The two lovers were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Guys? It's almost 9. Are you up?"

"Yeah, Nick. What do you want?"

"Food." The two giggled and opened the door.

"Come on, we'll order up some grub."

"Yay," Nick grinned and danced around the hotel room.

"Is he always like this?" Jeremy asked.

"Only in the morning." Jeremy noticed how Kevin's arms had slipped away from his skin once he had opened the door. He felt empty and lost without them but he had to accept Kevin's wishes of not telling the other guys. Just Mica. Jeremy watched Kevin's every move, as he ordered the food, and got the remainder of the group together in the room.

"Coffee," Brian pleaded, his eyes only half open. Mica laughed at him.

"Still haven't broken him of his caffeine obsession?" AJ shook his head.

"We tried but he gets all weird. We prefer him with the obsession."

"I'll break him of it, one day," she vowed.

"You better not. I like my coffee," Brian pouted and stuck his tongue out at her.

"Which would you rather? A girl or coffee?"

"Which girl?"

"Me." Brian through for a second.

"Coffee." Mica hit him with a pillow.

"Am I that undesirable?" she look toward the others in the group. Howie, AJ, and Nick all shook their heads.

"Nope." She grinned.

"At least some people here enjoy having their favorite organ," she taunted.

"I like mine, you just can't have it," Jeremy stuck his tongue out at her.

"Believe me, I don't want yours. Kevin can have it." We all laughed as the food was pushed into the room.

"Hey, under aged child in the room," Daisy reminded them.

"You're old enough to know about sex," Mica said to her, filling up a plate.

"I know, just sex and Uncle Jay don't mix."

"Oh thank you Daisy Flower I love you too," Jeremy said sarcastically.

"No sweat," she grinned.

"When did you become such a smart ass?" he asked.

"Since I started hanging out with you."

"She's got'cha there," Nick laughed.

"I learned from the best," she grinned and stuffed a piece of french toast into her mouth.

That afternoon, the awful truth was revealed. The guys had a concert the next day in California. Mica and Jeremy had a job and Marcy was worried sick about Daisy.

Jeremy was sitting on Kevin's bed, staring at his fingers. Kevin was bustling around the room, throwing things into his suitcase, he had forgotten that his lover would be hurting at the loss. He locked it and turned to see Jeremy. His lips were pressed tightly together, his eyes cast downward.

"Baby," he whispered and sat next to Jeremy on the bed. "I love you." Jeremy let the words sink in.

"I love you too," he was unaware of if the words were being said because Kevin was leaving or because they were actually exchanging them and meant it. Kevin wrapped his arms around Jeremy and kissed his cheek.

"I'll call you everyday, I promise."

"You don't have to do that. You have obligations a career a job."

"That doesn't mean I can't squeeze in time to call the love of my life." The love of his life. Jeremy couldn't help but smile at the words. Unfortunately, his brain got the best of him and his smile soon faded.

"Maybe, maybe it would be more simple if we just, you know, broke up," he said in a whisper. He instantly regretted the suggestion as Kevin's body tensed and he loosened his grip on Jeremy.

"Is that what you want?" Jeremy shook his head.

"No."

"Than why did you say it?" Jeremy shrugged.

"I thought it would be easier on you. So you wouldn't feel like you were, you know, tied down." Kevin grasped his chin in his hands and brought his eyes to meet his own.

"You're the only one I want." Those words seemed so full of truth. Jeremy melted into the man's arms and kissed him for what he hoped to be forever.

Mica, Jeremy, and Daisy waved good-bye as the limousine drove away from their block. There hadn't been enough time to individually drop them off.

"Quite a story to tell you're friends, huh Daisy?" Mica grinned.

"Nope, I promised I wouldn't tell and a promise is a promise."

"You're sweet," Mica took the little girls hand into her own. They walked up the sidewalk to Mica's house.

"I'll call you later," Jeremy told her, kissed Mica and Daisy, and left without waiting for a response.

He opened the door to his house. Atchika was sitting on the counter, glaring at the door. His hands flew to his mouth.

"Atchika, honey, I'm so sorry!" he ran over to the dog and attempted to pet her. She snubbed his hand and walked to the other side of the counter. He quickly found her food and tripled the proportion. Thanking god that the dear dog wasn't dead. He pushed it toward her. She sniffed at it and nibbled, quickly eating the whole bowl. She let out a small burp and licked her chops.

"Am I forgiven?" he asked her. She seemed to think for a second before walking over to him and licking his face in response. He picked up his pride and joy and cuddled her. "I'm so sorry." She seemed to understand and hopped from his arms and onto the couch. Her space.

Jeremy wandered up the stairs to his room where he turned on the shower and stripped out of his clothes. He smelled awful and was unknown to how Kevin had fallen in love with him when he smelled so rank.

Jeremy had only one foot in the shower when his phone rang. Hoping that it was Kevin, he sprinted to the phone.

"Hello?"

"So, did you guys do it?" Mica asked.

"What are you talking about?" he played dumb.

"Don't gimme that! I know you and Kevin are together. Give me details!" Jeremy laughed at her.

"I don't have to give you details," he said in triumph.

"Yes, you do, because I have so many years of black mail on you."

"What are you gonna do? Spring my high school photos on them?" he joked.

"Shut up," she grumbled.

"Listen, I've got a shower calling my name so if you'll excuse me."

"Oh, yes, of course, leave me to go pleasure yourself. I see how it is-"

"Bye Mica," he left her babbling away and hung up the phone. "You're nuts," he said to thin air, chuckling to himself and climbed into the hot shower. He sighed with content and let the water engulf his body.

Again he was interrupted by the phone ringing. He stumbled from his refuge and angrily picked it up.

"Mica what do you want?"

"Hi love." Jeremy melted.

"Hi Kev."

"I miss you."

"I miss you too."

"What are you up to?"

"Just taking a shower. What about you?"

"Waiting for them to call our flight. I wish I could be with you in that shower." Jeremy played with the thought evilly.

"Me too, Kev, me too." They both giggled.

"Well, I gotta go. I just wanted to make sure you hadn't forgotten about old Kevin."

"I could never forget about you, sweetie."

"Sweetie? I like it, snookums."

"I love you, sweetie," Jeremy's mouth dripped with sugar.

"I love you too, snookums." Jeremy giggled.

"Bye."

"Bye." He hung up the phone and entered his shower, for the third time, but finding most of the hot water gone. He sighed and turned it off. He fell onto his bed, sleep quickly taking over his body.

James Gavitts knelt down in front of Jeremy.

"You take good care of your mother, okay?" Jeremy looked at his father, terribly confused at what was going on. He had known that his parents had been having troubles with their marriage but nothing this extreme had come from it. He could only nod at his father's request. Chad stood next to him, almost as dumbfounded.

"I love you, Papa," Jeremy choked out.

"I love you too, Jeremy," he hugged his four year old son.

"I wanna give you something," Jeremy pulled a round object from his pocket and placed it in his father's hand. James looked at it and smiled. A tiny green marble.

"Thanks, Jer. I'll treasure it always," he pocketed the gift and kissed his son on top of his and ruffled his spiky blonde hair. He walked over to the car and got in. Jeremy waved as his father drove away. Jeremy never heard from him after that.

"Chad?"

"Yeah?"

"Wanna go play in the woods?"

"Okay."

Well I hope that chapter met your approval! Feel free to send any comments, questions, or hateful letters to me : chords4@yahoo.com Sorry this chapter was so short, don't worry though, chapter 7 is quite a bit longer.
