Chapter 30
"Their third album sold over 2 million copies its first week out. The thirty-three concert dates for No Strings Attached sold out in less than hour. Now, on the eve of the release of their fourth album, they've decided to spend some time with us and fill us in on what they've been doing and what's in store for the future. Ladies and gentlemen, NSYNC!"
As Justin and the others joined Roise on stage you were glad to see a smile on his face. If he was still nervous, he was handling it well.
Roise and the guys covered the normal topics for the first several minutes of the show and you were wondering if the others sitting with you were as anxious as you were to hear the new song. You still couldn't believe that they had pulled this off. None of you had ever heard it and somehow nothing had been leaked to the press.
"Okay guys, I know everyone out there is waiting to hear about this new album, especially since there has been such a shroud of secrecy about it. Now that its being released tomorrow, what can you tell us about it?"
JC spoke softly. "This album is the heart and soul of NSYNC. When we released Strings we were making a statement that others were no longer controlling us as far as our careers are concerned. The album was ours."
He exhaled slowly and you could sense the tension in his voice.
"With this album, we're taking it a bit further. Everyone said that we took chances with Stings by changing our sound and by somewhat changing our image. We were playing a more mature sound with more mature lyrics. This album shows a more mature us. Not the music or the lyrics, but the people. We're adults, and we want that to show and we want to make sure the people that are most important to us realize the impact they have had on our lives.
"I'll let the audience in on a little secret," Rosie announced. "I've been lucky enough to hear the title song for this album, and while I've watched you all grow up in the past few years, I've never been more proud of you five young men as I am right now."
"For the first time anywhere, here is NSYNC to sing the title song off their new album."
The guys moved toward center stage and Rosie's crew immediately placed 5 stools on the stage.
Rosie spoke once again. "JC, I understand you need some help with this, is that correct?"
"Yeah we do." He looked to the senior member of the group. "Chris, you want to get us started."
Chris raised the microphone to his mouth. "Most of you know her as Danni, but actually she is Danielle Kirkpatrick, my wife and the mother of our son that will be joining us is 5 short months. Danni, will you join me on stage."
Danni looked at you with a look of total shock on her face. "I'm gonna kill him." She rose and took Chris' outstretched hand and took her place on the first of the five stools.
Lance spoke next. "My history with this special person hasn't been that long, but wow, what a difference she has made in my life. Alyssa, will you join me on stage please?
Britney reached for your hand and held it tightly. "Gary, do you have any idea what's going on here?" You could only shake you head indicating you didn't, but with each passing moment the butterflies grew larger and larger in your stomach.
"This lady needs no introduction" Joey said with a huge grin on his face. "She's the Southern belle that tamed the Brooklyn boy. You've known her for years, but what you don't know is that she has agreed to marry me. Britney, will you please take your seat up here?"
You looked over at Danny and all the color had drained from his face. You both knew now why it was so important that the five of you were in the audience.
JC spoke softly into the microphone. "For several months now rumors have circulated that Danny and I are more than just friends. It's been a very difficult time for both of us and I'd like to clear up this whole situation today. I'd like my boyfriend Danny to join me on stage."
The set was deathly quiet. You could hear a pin drop and all eyes were focused on Justin. Trying his best to ease the tension, Justin remarked. "Well, I guess this kinda closes the door on all the rumors about me and Britney."
It worked, the crowd responded with scattered laugher and applause and most importantly the nine people on stage felt a moment of relief.
His voice still shaky, Justin spoke into the microphone. "We all have decisions to make in our life, so come easy, some are difficult. Being here with you today was the most difficult decision I've ever had to make. It was the right thing to do, but that didn't make it any easier."
A broad smile covered his face. "On the other hand, the decision I made yesterday was easy and one I'll never regret. He looked directly at you with the azure blue eyes that melted away all your concerns. "Gary, I know you hate being on camera, but would please join me here on stage?"
Somehow your legs found the strength to support you and you rose to join Justin on stage.
Justin spoke once again but not so softly this time. "Ladies and gentlemen, my husband, Mr. Gary Martin."
You had never felt more scared or more proud in your life. It was over. Good or bad it was over. Your relationship with Justin was out in the open and a huge weight was lifted from your shoulders. Whatever the two of you had to face, you would now face it as a couple.
Justin took your hand in his. "This song is dedicated to the five special we have brought on stage with us. It's called No More Secrets."
The music started to play softly and finally you heard the song that so important to Justin and his friends.
It's time for the world to know It's time for the truth to be told It's been long enough And even knowing we were Strong enough (Baby)
We just can't lie no more So now the truth can be told And there will be..
No More Secrets No More Lies No More Stories No More Goodbyes
So now once again We stand in a open room But this time when we speak It'll be the truth (Oh yeah)
No More Secrets No More Lies No More Stories No More Goodbyes
Because when you feel the love inside We don't want it to be another lie Because deep down inside of us There's a love to be cherished from all us
But this time We promise..
No More Secrets No More Lies No More Stories No More Goodbyes
No More Secrets Baby. No More...
Justin lowered his mic and whispered in your ear. "I love you Gary." He then leaned over and kissed you gently on the cheek and you knew from that moment on, your lives would never be the same.
THE END
I love the song "No More Secrets" which was written for me by Dennis. I gave him a vague idea of what I wanted and he came up with the perfect lyrics. Thank you Dennis.
I thanked him early on, but once again I'd like to thank Scor who was the inspiration for the story as well as my editor and who helped with the story line as well. (The "night out on the town" and Atlas was ALL his doing!)
Thanks to Nifty for giving us a GREAT site. Where would we be without it!
I truly hope you guys have enjoyed reading this story as much as I have enjoyed writing it. This was a first attempt and I want to thank the readers who have been so incredibly supportive. There will be a sequel named "No More Secrets" if you are interested in reading more about Gary, Justin and the rest of the guys and their "significant others".
