Deviant Magic Episode. 09 - Tears
I lay in bed after having watched Ryan leave. I can't think of a good reason why an Arch mage would be coming to Moorea. Maybe it's a routine visit.
I finally get up and get dressed as I make my way north of the city to the river. I get in and enjoy its warm waters rushing over my body as I swim for a bit. I felt a bit dirty after the battle and blood that had dried and scraped off my body in the last day along with the sweat, I worked up with Ryan as I filled him up and he came on my chest.
The current of the river is going west but it's not very strong so It's easy to stay afloat without drifting too far. I take off my clothes and wrench the water out of them a few times to clean them as best I can. There were some minor grass stains on the leg of my pants and a tear along the hip which I knew I would have to have mended.
I get out of the water and summon warm air to surround me as I dry myself and my clothes off, before getting dressed again. It's quiet and private by the river and only a few city people can be seen further down.
I sit down as I put on my boots then I run my fingers through my auburn hair and re-make the braid on the left side of my face as I touch my earring out of habit. Once I feel more decent, I make my way back and have breakfast with the family.
I tell them about our trip, but I leave out all details regarding the battles as Luria had mentioned before, she didn't want her family to worry. I focus my storytelling mostly on finding her Relic Weapon and when we stumbled upon the forest sprite. Leaving out the details about how they started kissing of course.
They all listen intensely as I speak as they gasp and laugh.
Once I feel that they are satisfied I give them another silver piece for the food as I head out towards the town square.
I'm wearing my sandals again which feels a lot more comfortable in the city as I make my way to the small shop where I had bought my clothes. I show him the small tear in my pants and the stain, asking if he's able to mend it. I don't mind the grass stain so much, but the tear exposes the fact that I'm not wearing a loin cloth.
The old man tells me it would be 3 silver pieces. I pay him and he leads me into a back room where he tells me to take off my pants so he can mend them. Telling me it would only be a few minutes.
I take them off and as I do the old man comments on my cock telling me I was blessed by the gods when they gave me my dick. I feel embarrassed and cover myself as I sit down in only my vest.
The man works quickly on mending my pants and only a few minutes later he's stitched them back up as if they were new.
Putting them back on I decide to head to the library to see Luria and Sky.
As soon as I enter, I see Luria and Master Castiell heading into the tower in the middle of the library. I asked Sky what was in there and he said he didn't know as the door is spelled so only people with access can go in, which is currently only Luria and the Grand Mage. They fail to notice me which I'm glad about, as I've decided to avoid Master Castiell for as long as I possibly can. I head into the training room, but I can't see Sky, I look in the pool but he's not there either. I walk around all the rooms in the library but can't find him anywhere. Maybe he's having a lazy day of sleeping. Not too surprising after our long journey. I decide to do some actual research for the first time since arriving at the library. It only takes a few moments before I find the section on creatures. I'd like to learn about Brim, my dragon familiar. I'm going through book after book and lots of them have detailed descriptions about creatures and there are so many I've never seen before or even heard of. Nagas, long slender water monsters. Basilisks, green swamp beasts with huge yellow teeth. Gremlins, Entdroids, Stone golems, Wraiths... The list goes on, but I can't find anything about dragons. I go to the octagonal room as I search through books. Until I find one with the title; Ancient Magical Creatures; Lost to Time. I set it down on an empty table as I flick through it. It's not a very thick book so I hope it contains what I'm looking for. I find a page about Hydras, long snake like beasts that had several heads. Another on something called a Thunderbird, a storm bringer of lightning destruction. One about Behemoth... Finally! Dragons. There's only a short paragraph underneath a painted picture of golden dragon with a white belly. The dragon depicted looks quite different from Brim. It looks slenderer and has no spikes. I read the text... 'Dragons are believed to have existed over a thousand years ago and it is still unclear what made them disappear. Several skeletons have been found along with references to their stature in old scriptures found in temples. Making them, one of the largest known creatures to have existed. Dragons were believed to be the only magical creature with endless magic available to them and they could breathe fire and ice, at will. Many fear, that these creatures still exist in far away lands but no evidence has been found to support such beliefs. There are a lot of myths surrounding these truly as.. a-s-t-o-u.... Astounding creatures...' I'm struggling understanding a word I've never heard before, when a voice interrupts me. "That's some interesting reading you've got there." A deep and calm voice comes from behind and I turn around. Oh no! Master Castiell. He moves towards the seat opposite me as I struggle to come up with a lie. "Um. Yea. I was hoping to find some information about forest sprites. I recently came across one." I lie as It was the only other magical creature, I could think of that I had seen recently. Not wanting to mention Thunder. Master Castiell takes a seat as he looks at me, then down to the book. His grey hair giving away his old age. I've only seen a handful of elves as old as him. He smiles at me with a calm demeanour as he speaks. "Forest sprites, yes I had heard you and young Sky came across one while helping Luria. But I can tell you, you won't find much about them in that particular book. They are still very much alive after all." His smile terrifies me. Although he's smiling, his smile is not reaching his eyes. Those dark brown eyes look deadly serious and are burning into my skull as I struggle meeting his gaze. I'm not sure what to say but I close the book and start to stand up as he speaks. "I was hoping to have a word with you in fact. I wanted to thank you for supporting Luria, as she received her calling to get her very own Relic Weapon. It's a splendid feat, worthy of celebration. Not many mages ever receive a weapon at all." I'm half standing when he looks at me, and I can tell that he wants me to sit back down again. He has a calm but very authoritarian way about him. Still smiling... Still not genuine. "I was happy to help a friend. But I'm actually late to see Sky right now, so I should be off." I tell him hoping to get away. "Have a seat Leon. I'm sure Sky will understand you being late. If he's not, I'll explain the whole thing to him, myself. I was meaning to give my personal thanks to him, so I'll have a good opportunity. How does that sound?" His voice sounds almost threatening while his words aren't. I sit back down, deciding that it's probably best to not upset him. "Okay, yea. Sure." I sit back down as Master Castiell leans over the table as he cups his hands as he speaks. "Now, you and Sky were both with Luria during her trip and you came across not only goblins, but a goblin chieftain, if I understood Luria correctly. I must say, I'm surprised you three made it out okay." I can feel that he's after something and I'm getting worried, but I try to act as calm as I can. "Yea... um, it was quite scary, but the big brute was quite stupid. It ran right into a wall. We were very lucky." He sits in silence for a few moments as if digesting my words. "Lucky, is a good word for it. Not only making it out alive but without a single scratch on you... Lucky... Now, tell me Leon, what god do you follow again?" There it is! The question I feared was coming. I feel Vox inside me grunting and his displeasure radiates through me. "I don't follow any god." I spit out before I realise what I've done. Vox seems to be interfering, but I can feel his intentions, so I try my best to explain it. "I... view it more as a friendship. But Um... I grew up in the forests north of here. Bauhn felt like the only choice, really." I feel my voice shaking a little and my palms are sweating from his piercing gaze as he seems to listen to every word I speak with great care. I feel as if I'm betraying Vox by pretending to worship another god. But he doesn't react when I say the words. I know he must understand my situation. He looks at me and nods. "Wonderful, Bauhn, he's a kind god. North of here you said... Would that be Treya then or Mosk perhaps?" "Mosk. Yes", I say, not even sure why I felt the need to lie about my home town, but I want him to know as little about me as possible. I've never been in a situation like this. I feel him prying for information in a polite manner and it scares me. "And the mage that did your banishment was...?" He pushes for more information. "Larn! Also... an earth mage..." I say trying to smile to look casual as my uncle's name was the only one, I could think of quickly. He does live in Mosk so it's... less of a lie...? Maybe... The Grand Mage looks at me for an uncomfortable amount of time, in silence. Maybe he knows all the mages in the area and knows I'm lying... What if he knows already...? What if... He shows no sign of anything as he smiles. "Well, thank you Leon, for humoring me for a few moments. Say hi to Sky for me, okay." I feel him releasing me from this awful conversation with those words. I immediately stand up to walk away. "I will. Thank you." As I walk away from the table, I hear his voice again, loud and authoritarian. "Don't forget to return the book, young man." I turn back to him and smile awkwardly as I walk back and pick up the book that's still on the table and give him a nod as he sits still and follows me around the room with his gaze. I hurry putting the book back where I had found it, on the shelf, then I make my way to the front doors and out of the library. I feel myself shaking with fear. My knees feel weak. The place that had seemed so safe and wonderful, instantly turned into something that felt so dangerous and deadly. I close the library door and as I turn to walk away, I bump into Sky. I was in such a rush we both fall to the ground. I look up at him and he can see the fear and worry in my eyes. "Are you alright Leon? You're shaking for Orobus' sake." He says as he wraps his arm around me as we both stand up. I don't know why but I can't stop shaking. I feel as if I've been caught over the dead body of a king. As if I know I've done something horrible and everyone is about to find out. It's an awful feeling and I can't get rid of it. "I can't stop Sky... Castiell just asked me all the wrong questions. I think he might know..." I say as I look up at Sky feeling like the 16-year-old kid I am, for the first time since I was with dad. "Fuck! Shit!... Okay... Let's go for a walk Leon." He says as he wraps an arm around me, and we begin heading towards the main square. We continue walking without any direction as I tell him exactly what happened and what he asked me and how I felt. As I recount what happened, I feel myself relaxing a bit more. Sky listens to me as we walk and offers the occasional curse word. We end up sitting on the bridge north of Moorea looking down at the water beneath our feet as we talk. "So, Luria must have told him about what happened. But she would never betray us. From what you're telling me Leon, sounds like he's just suspicious that we got out, without getting hurt... We did get fucking hurt! My arm nearly fell off for fucks sake. But we had you to heal us, although he can't know that. But I don't think he actually knows anything. Alright?" Sky says. And I agree. I healed Luria and Sky and there is no way she would have even survived without our help. I trust her. "No, I think you're right. She wouldn't, I'm just worried. A friend of mine told me an Arch Mage is coming to Moorea and I think I'm just being paranoid." I tell him. "What the fuck Leon! An Arch Mage? Are you serious? They never leave the capitol. Why here?" Sky yells in shock as he stares at me. "I don't know. He just told me this morning. He'd received word yesterday I think." "Well, we were only returning home yesterday so there's no way it can be about us. But!... I think it might be best to skip town. Just to be on the safe side." Sky announces as he looks at me. "No. You can't leave... What about... Luria?" I tell him. I can't have Sky leave me now. I'm just starting out, I finally felt like I was starting to learn stuff. He gives me a smile and I can see his dimples showing up on his dark tanned skin. "We don't have to rush it, but I think we should leave within a few days." I realise he wasn't talking about just himself. He wants me to leave with him. The idea that he wants me to come with him makes me flutter with joy. "You mean both of us...?" I ask, just to make sure. "Of course! I couldn't leave a brother to the trolls like that. I'm not leaving without you Leon." He says as he rubs my head with his hand, messing up my hair and then he laughs and pushes me into the river. I splash into the river in an instant. As I find my footing, I look up at him as I put my hand on the stone bridge, using magic I move the stone he's sitting on, so he tips into the water after me. I'm not so worried anymore. I think I'll be fine as long as I'm with Sky. We step out of the river drenched. My white pants become see-through from the water and I as I'm stretching Sky flicks a finger on my cock as he laughs. I bring down a warm wind that envelops me as I dry off. I do the same for Sky, but I make the wind ice cold for a few seconds as he begins to shiver. "Oi. Play nice." He yells at me as he rubs his arms while his wet body is accosted by freezing wind. I laugh but eventually I make the wind warm. Drying ourselves off within minutes. We begin walking into town again when Sky speaks. "If an Arch Mage is coming, it'll take him about 10 days on horseback from the capitol. I don't know what the Arch Mages look like, but I'm guessing they're old geezers, like Master Castiell. So, it might even take longer. We should leave soon. We can travel a bit, see the world." I nod as I smile thinking about the possibilities. "Why wait then? Let's go tomorrow morning." I tell him. I want to ask Luria to come with us, but I'm not sure she would. Sky laughs and pats me on the back. As we walk past my home, we stop. "I'm gonna head home, pack my things. Shouldn't take long, I never carry much. I'll go and see Luria and tell her that we're heading out. If she wants, she can come but I'm not sure Leon... She has her sight set on being a grand mage. At least she'll have the option." I nod to Sky. "Meet outside the tavern tomorrow morning at dawn?" He gives me a nod as we hug. Then I go up the stairs and into my room and jump on my bed and just rest for a while. My body is surging with excitement. I'm ready to do this. Go, see the world. Go exploring. Sky and I can have our familiars out as we travel. I miss Brim. I summon him in my room for a few moments as I cuddle with the dragon in my lap. I make him disappear as I hang my blue bag over my chair, I move over to the window and kneel. I place my hands on the wood planks as they pry themselves up. I reach down and bring up my sack of gold coins, preparing for the journey. I've earned 13 gold coins from my massages and it's more than I think I'll ever need. I sit down trying to think of supplies I might need for the journey, but I can't think clearly. I'm too excited. I go down and speak to the family and inform them that I will be leaving the next morning. Milo starts crying as he comes and hugs my leg. He begs me to stay but I tell him I have to go. Both Lana and Geoff both offer to have me stay with them, whenever I return to Moorea, and they wish me all the best for my travels. Milo stays clinging to my leg as he cries for longer than I care for. I've never been a big crier myself and I'm not sure how to handle it... He's all snotty... Eventually he calms down when I offer for him, to sleep next to me one last time and I even tell him we can go for an early morning run before I leave. His smile shows and he seems to be happy with the compromise. I step out of the house as I walk into the town square. It's late afternoon and some smaller shops are closing down for the day, but I buy myself some spicy sausage as I nibble on it while walking around. Trying to think of things I could possibly need, but my mind is still reeling with the different possibilities. I imagine what the capitol would look like. Or these floating isles that I still haven't asked anyone about. Why do they call them floating isles...? All islands float! It's driving me crazy. I mindlessly wander for a bit when I decide to step into the tavern for a drink. I stand up as I start reading through the jobs on the notice board which I hadn't been able to read before, as I drink my beer. I feel a moment of pride, as I reflect back to only a few weeks ago, when these letters and words were unknown to me. I read through them and I laugh as I read some stranger ones. A man wanting a love potion... for his cat... Seriously? Cats are just awful. He should just accept it. As I stand by the notice board, I hear commotion outside. I peek my head out the window towards the road as the Legion marches by. But they're not wearing their normal crimson red armour. Instead their armour is grey and gold. Looks flashy and highly expensive. I think back to what Ryan had told me. They were needing to be on their best behaviour. He's probably fitting them in some extra fancy stuff and having them do laps. What did Sky call people like that?... Lappies. I smile at the memory. I wonder if everyone speaks with the same strange accent where Sky is from... I don't know, but I can't wait to find out. Although I feel comfort in knowing there's still time, seeing the Legion march by, brings back my fears and I decide to head home and lay low for the rest of the night. Just wait it out. I want to get out of here. I finish my beer and then make my way back home. The sun is starting to set as I walk up the stairs to my room. When I enter, I see Milo sitting on my bed, waiting for me. "Hey there buddy. It's not bed time just yet, is it?" I say as I walk in and pet him on his head as I sit down next to him. "Leon... Before you leave. I saw you do something... and um... I want you to teach me." He says as he leans into my arm. "Sure buddy. But I can't teach you magic, you know that. But anything else, yea." I tell him as I put my arm around him bringing him into a sideways hug. "The other night I saw you..." Milo begins to speak but he's interrupted by the loud sounds of someone running up the stairs outside my door. The door swings open and slams into the wall and Ryan stands there in full crimson armour. That's strange... Why isn't he in the same grey uniform as the others? He removes his helmet and I can tell that he's winded. He's been running. "Leon! You have to leave! They're coming here, any moment!" He practically screams at me. Milo jumps up on the bed and crawls into one of the corners as he looks frightened. My own heart is pumping fast as I stand up and walk close to Ryan. "What?! Why?" I ask. "They know you're a Deviant Mage Leon, and they want to question you. I saw the fairy in chains at the library. I had no idea about any of this. I'm so sorry! That's why the Arch Mage is here! You have to leave the city, right now. I'll come with you.... But we only have a few moments." He tells me as he grabs my arms. My mouth goes dry as his words hit me. I feel sick to my stomach as the words sink in. I have to do something... I have no idea what, but before I can even think, I shove past Ryan and start running down the stairs as fast as I can. I hear Ryan yelling behind me as he's running down after me. He manages to grab me in front of the house, and he holds my arm so I can't run. He's so much stronger than I am... Why did he ever let me slap him like I did in bed... I turn around, ready to slap him when he grabs my other arm. He knew it was coming... I look at him as I scream at the top of my lungs. "Let me go! I have to save Sky!" "No! You can't! I won't let you! The capitol legion has armour that resists magic... There's nothing you can do Leon! Please, come with me! I don't care if you're a Deviant Mage... I need you Leon. I..." I interrupt him by moving into his body and kiss him. He lets go of my arms as I put my hands on the side of his head as I pull his lips into mine. We've never kissed before and the feeling blows me away. My heart is pounding in my chest from adrenaline as I feel his soft lips on mine. My hands are entwined in his blond hair flowing down the side of his head as he wraps his arms around me and pulls me close. For a second the world falls away as I feel his tongue enter my mouth and his soft lips press firmly onto mine. It can't last... I know what must be done... I start pulling away as his arms fling open by the vines that I was bringing up from the ground underneath us, while we were kissing. He looks at me with his beautiful green eyes and I know he's serious about escaping with me. His legs and hands are bound, and he knows he's lost, and the sadness shows in his eyes as he watches me turn and run. As I go to run, I see Geoff, Lana and Milo in the doorway of the house as they must have heard us screaming outside. They look completely stunned after seeing the general of the Crimson Legion kissing a 16-year-old mage. I don't have time to explain as I take off as fast as I can. Ryan screams my name loudly behind me as I run past the fountain in the plaza and south, towards the library.I approach the library and there are two guards outside, both with the grey armour, along with a large creature I've never seen before, but I recognize it from one of the books I had been going through. It's a griffin. It has a golden coat of fur and dark brown wings and a white falcons' head. There are straps going around the main body of the beast and I see what looks like a saddle at the top.
No wonder he managed to get here so fast...
The two guards' step towards me with their spears pointing aggressively at me as they tell me to stop. My blood is boiling, and I don't even think before I stomp the ground and send not one, but nearly a hundred vines, that break through the stone road with a loud crack and pulls the men onto the ground. I don't care if their armour is magic proof or whatever. I just need to restrain them... for now.
I have to actively make an effort as I lust to kill them, for having taken my friend.
I walk up to the door and the griffin turns to me, but I give it one look and the griffin starts cowering against the stones it's tied to.
I wasn't quite expecting that reaction, but I have no time to worry about it. I approach the massive wooden doors of the library, I put my hands on them... I look at my hands... They're not mine. I never felt the change, but my hands have claws coming out from the finger tips. Vox is sharing my body. There is such a torrent of emotions going through my body, that I failed to notice that I had changed.
I force as much magic through my claws and into the door as I can. More magic than I have ever felt, flows through me. For the first time I use three elements at once, as I pour flames and air forcibly against the door with all my might, and use earth to push the stone wall, holding the door together in its hinges.
The doors explode with a thundering crash. The door shoots into the library and tiny bits of wood float through the air as smoke and debris fills the space.
I summon a quick wind to clear the air so I can see. I'm able to see into the entry way of the library and there they are... Standing in front of the stone tower is Castiell, a young elf and Sky.
Along both walls leading into the entryway of the library are several guards. Some are picking themselves up from the floor as they recover from the explosion. The others all point their spears in my direction. There must be at least 8 capitol legion guards along with 2 red crimson guards standing by the dwarf at her desk, as always. The dwarf is cowering behind the desk as she looks at me in horror.
I look dead ahead at Castiell, not even bothering with the guards.
Sky is floating in the air. Unconscious, both his wrists and feet are bound by large black stone balls covering his entire hands and feet. His hands are outstretched above him and his legs are pulled down making him look twice as tall as normal, as his head is hanging against his chest.
I feel my mouth filling with saliva as I'm overcome with fury and pure bloodlust. Who are these people, so easily chaining my friend like that? I will end them. I know I'm still in control of my body, but Vox is sharing it. I can feel him in every part of my body, and I don't need to feel my head to know that I have Vox's antlers and a purple flame there. He feels what I feel, he loves, what I love... He wants to kill, what I want to kill...
"Don't do anything hasty now, Leon. We don't want any harm to come to Sky here. Now do we?" Castiell says as the young elf next to him only watches. A flaming sword floats from the side of Castiell and moves through the air to Sky's exposed stomach. It hovers in the air, burning bright all the way to the handle.
I know without asking. That's Castiell's Relic Weapon.
"Give us our friend and we will spare your lives."
As I speak my voice is both my own and Vox's. It has a low guttural groan to it, and I feel vibrations in the ground as I speak.
The young elf raises his eyebrow and steps forward. "Vox, wasn't it? Nice to meet you. I'm Mio, one of the 5 Arch Mages governing this world. I want you to know, that we mean you no harm. We simply need to understand how, you were able to grant this... child, such... extravagant gifts."
This child speaks as if he's over a hundred. He can't possibly be the Arch Mage? Mio looks to be 15 years old with long brown straight hair going down each side of his body almost down to his hips. His face looks young, but his demeanour speaks of age. He has a long green robe stretching out from his shoulders all the way down to the floor. I can't see his arms or his legs. His elf ears stick out each side of his head in sharp spikes. As he speaks, he commands the room with his voice.
I taste iron in my mouth, Vox and I are ready to pounce at a moments notice. "What we do is none of your concern, elf! Release Sky or we will destroy this city" I say the words, but more than that. I mean it. The lives of the people in this city mean nothing to me and I would kill every last one of them to save Sky.
Without looking, without moving, I send roots to strangle the female dwarf standing by the guards, to make my point.
I never let my eyes off Mio as he notices the dwarf struggling to breathe.
"I was sure you cared for your friend Leon... What a shame... as I only want to talk." Mio says without looking shocked or concerned for the dying dwarf.
I hear Sky start screaming as the tip of the flaming sword starts moving into his stomach. I remove the roots strangling the dwarf immediately, and Sky stops screaming but I see blood pouring down his stomach where they cut him, and his flesh is black where the fire burned him.
I look back at Mio. "What do you want with us, elf?"
"Like I said Vox. We only care to understand. Now if you come with me, I can guarantee your friends safety. You have my word." Mio says with a calm and controlled voice as he gives a small bow towards me with grace.
I can't speak as I fear Vox will lash out. He wants to take control of the situation by killing as many people as quickly as possible. I'm actively holding him back, I don't care for any of these people and would gladly watch them die. But I can't risk Sky dying. I just can't...
All I manage to do is nod.
"Wonderful. Now we'll put you and Sky in our cells while we... clean up here." Mio says as he nods to one of the guards.
The guard drops his spear and slowly moves towards me with one of those black stones that is keeping Sky afloat. I don't know what it is, but I refuse, so does Vox.
"Don't you dare bind us." We both say to Mio and the guard, who stops short.
The guard looks at Mio for confirmation, who gives him a nod, and he backs away.
I step behind Mio as we walk towards Castiell. The Grand Mage waves his hand in front of the door into the tower and the door opens. I see that the door leads directly onto a staircase that goes both up as well as down. I didn't realise this place had a basement. Considering the size of it, I'm not too surprised.
Sky's arms float down to his stomach as he gets pushed through the doorway as blood drips on the floor where as he's moved. Castiell walks in after Sky with the flaming sword in his hand. Mio walks slowly after, as I follow them and we descend the stairs. There's a confidence radiating from Mio that angers me. He walks in front of me, not once looking back. I get the urge to rip out his throat, but seeing Sky floating a few steps down, stops me.
We reach the bottom of the stairs and another door opens that leads into a room with cells lining the walls.
There are two cells on each wall with only a wooden bench and two pillars in the middle of the room. The cells are made from black stone coming down in thin spears, similar to the rest of the building.
Castiell opens one of the cells and Sky's unconscious body floats in and falls to the floor. Blood is still running down his body.
Castiell opens another cell on the opposite side of the room and gives space for me to walk through.
As I walk into the cell, I hear Vox laughing inside of me and he tells me it's made from null stone.
I turn around and look at Mio who closes the cell door behind me. "What's null stone?" As I speak, I notice it's only my voice again and I look down at my hands and my claws are gone.
"These bars are made from a unique stone that makes it impossible to perform magic inside it. We can't take any risks, I'm afraid... Now we will be back in a few moments, me and my friend here have some matters to discuss. And when I come back, I expect you to be able to provide us with answers to our questions. That wound on Sky doesn't look good. So, it's best if we can get this over with quickly so we can get him some treatment."
As he finishes, he turns around and I see him sharing a strange look with Master Castiell. Was that... worry? Without saying another word, both of them leave out the only door in the room, as they leave me and Sky in our cells.
I can feel Vox inside me. He's smug and without saying anything, I intrinsically know why. He faked being worried about being bound, and he didn't need to stop sharing my body when he entered this cell.
I've been feeling Vox inside of me for weeks. Ever since he saved me when I was stabbed, there's been almost a constant connection with him. I feel him laughing, agreeing or disliking people I interact with. It's almost as if he's relaxing more and more around me and allowing me to see his true self. And his true self is... mischievous, angry and endlessly powerful. And I love every part of it.
I draw the rune for the spell Sky demanded be called 'Ghost'. The spell allows me to walk through solid objects. This time I draw it on my chest in plain spit, but I also make sure to channel the magic from that rune into both my body as well as into my clothes, so I'm not left naked again.
I walk through the black stone bars with ease. It's a strange feeling when I do. When the bars go through my body, I can feel their colour, their lack of magic and it feels incredibly cold. As if the void of magic is sadness itself. I decide I hate this material and although it doesn't affect me, I never want to be around it.
I make my way over to Sky as I walk into his cell. His hands and feet are still fully bound, and he has a wound in his stomach which is pouring blood slowly down his side and onto the floor. There's black burned skin around the wound.
I use his blood to draw the Kelpie healing rune on my hands as I bring forth water and begin to heal him. Just like last time my right-hand is heating up and my left is freezing as I channel my magic through the runes.
His wound begins to close up. I feel his muscles relaxing as his body begins to recover. The burned flesh gets a fresh layer of skin underneath it and the burnt skin dries up and flakes away.
I stand back up looking at him as I feel magic under my feet. I look down and I'm being engulfed by a black cloak rising up from under my feet. I recognize it from before and I let it swallow me as the entire world goes black.
I look around the void until I see that familiar dark purple flame starting from the top and then moving down. I first see the flame above his head, then the antlers. Then his ashen grey hair then his dark brown skin comes into view and moves down until I see all of him.
His body is still covered in the black void from his feet up to just below his nose. The black flames outline his body where the void is, but his head and ears are free from the flames. His antlers stick out from his head moving up in one bone but splitting into two. They are rounded off about 3-inches off his head where the flame is burning in the air between them.
I had forgotten how curious his eyes are. Nothing exists in his eyes except a black that seems to be almost shining and I have yet to see him blink as he looks ahead at me. His eyes make him look as if he's studying my every move. Not in an aggressive way like Castiell had, but in a curious, considering way.
Vox begins to walk to me, and I feel my body becoming paralyzed as I repeat his words back at him. "Don't you dare bind me".
A rumble of chuckle vibrates through the void without Vox's face every changing. But I feel my body remaining free and my own. He stops in front of me and looks directly at my face.
I decide to be bold. I walk around his body, seeing him for the first time from behind. I can feel something moving when he's standing still but I don't know what. I feel as if wind hits my legs a few times, but I can't see anything outside of the flames outlining his body and his head.
After walking around, him in a full circle I stop in front of him as I put my hands up to his antlers. I move my hands around them, feeling them for the first time. They are incredibly smooth, and I feel warmth coming from them, as if they're not quite bone.
I move my hands down to his ashen grey hair which is quite short and looks frazzled but still good. I move my hands to his ears as I feel them. My hands trace his face, his skin is warm, and Vox never moves, flinches or blinks as I explore what little of him is exposed by the void. When my hands move to his lips, I feel nothing. I can feel his skin, the softness of his lips but I can't feel his heat. Nothing. The void seems to remove all of that.
I keep my hands on his lips as I speak. "Is this your only form?" I know some gods take several shapes.
When he speaks, I'm expecting to feel his mouth move but it doesn't. "The only one I care for."
The voice is booming across the void and I can feel it both inside me and outside but it's not coming from his mouth or lips.
I remove my hands. "What am I supposed to do now?"
"You need me for what comes next. I want you to accept more of me."
When he finishes, I move my head to his, as our foreheads collide, and I stare into his deep, black eyes.
"I don't need you..." I kiss him and feel his soft lips on mine.
I remove my lips from his as I go down on my knees as my hands feel the obvious muscles hiding on his chest and stomach underneath the black void.
My hands move down, and I grab his soft cock as I look up at Vox whose eyes follow my movement. "...I want you". I wrap my lips around it. It feels bigger than last time. He's soft, but it must be at least 7 inches long. It's not only long but thick. Even when flaccid I struggle with the size in my mouth as I feel him start leaking and I taste his cum on my tongue.
I lick around inside his foreskin as I savour the taste of him. His skin gives no flavour and there is no heat coming from his cock in my mouth but the leaking cum still tastes amazing and the more I get, the more I want. I move my hand up and down his cock, trying to get him hard but it doesn't seem to work. He remains flaccid and eventually I stop trying. I feel around his groin, but I can't feel any hair at all. I move down to his balls as I begin to squeeze them. They are massive. I move my hands around his balls as I keep swallowing several loads of cum that keeps dripping from his cock.
I look up and the black void has moved down significantly while I was getting lost sucking on his massive dick.
The void has moved down to just below his neck and for the first time I can see his lips. They are black. Not just black, but shiny. As if they're polished metal. His jaw and chin are smooth, dark brown and flawless like the rest of his face.
As the void moves further down on his body, I see more of him. He has broad shoulders with bulging muscles rippling down his arms which are now fully uncovered and no longer outlined by the flames. His hands are like mine. I thought they would be claws...
His chest is thick with muscle and his biceps stand out far from his body and his nipples are the same strange shiny black as his lips.
As I'm taking in his view, I feel his cum slowing down and the steady stream of semen going into my stomach stops. I focus my attention to his cock again as I try to suck harder, lick more. But nothing brings more on. It just... stopped. I feel sadness as I want endless amounts to pour into me.
I lick his cock clean and as my head swirls around his head making sure I didn't miss a drop, I notice that his legs are now also uncovered.
His feet are like something from a creature. The void is just by his knees and below it his skin looks human but as it moves down it becomes hairier and hairier. The actual foot looks more like a dog's paw with four vicious looking claws coming out.
As I remove my lips from his cock, I start feeling his feet. I move my hand around them, and I try to get Vox to lift his feet up by tugging on his legs but either he doesn't understand me, or he refuses to move. So, I can't feel the underside of his feet, but they resemble dogs' feet the most.
I stand up and begin touching his muscular chest. He has short hair covering his entire biceps moving in circles above his nipples. The hair gets slightly thicker in between his pecs as it moves down but his stomach is still covered in the black void so I can only allow my imagination to wander about what the rest of him is like.
I move my fingers to his nipples as I'm intrigued by the strange appearance. Vox stands there following my head as I examine him. His nipples feel warm and incredibly smooth. Feels like skin but slightly firmer and smoother than anything I've felt before.
I looks up at his face as I begin tracing his lips with my fingers. I can feel the heat coming off his body now. He's much warmer than most people. I circle his lips and then I slip a finger inside. I try to get him to open his mouth but again he refuses to move. And although I can't see into his mouth, I feel what I was curious about. There's no tongue. His teeth feel like mine, but he has some incredibly sharp teeth lined on the sides of his mouth.
After a while I feel as if I've been abusing his kindness, like a child climbing a grown person. I remove my finger from inside his mouth and move in for a kiss again. He kisses me back and as I open my eyes, I see that he's closed his, for the first time.
His kiss feels more passionate now. Maybe he couldn't feel me before as he seems to enjoy this better than last time. Maybe that's why his cock remains flaccid.
As I remove my lips from his, he opens his eyes again and I notice a change in the shape of his antlers. They've grown slightly. It's not an obvious difference, they're mostly longer. About 5-inches now. Still perfectly rounded at the top and the flame hasn't moved.
I stand still in front of him a few moments to see if he would speak. He doesn't... No surprise there.
"What happens when the void leaves your body?"
He keeps his mouth closed as he speaks. "You accept me as I am, and I can help you more"
That was a surprisingly direct answer.
Just as I'm about to ask more things, thinking he might be more forthcoming now, he interrupts me.
"Someone is coming. You should leave this place and when you do. Heal Sky. It pains me to see a broken creature."
His eyes flicker with sadness, his head tilts down as if he's looking through the void at Sky on the floor. But what does he mean? I've already healed him. Did they do something else to Sky. I haven't heard Vox speak so plainly before either.
His hand moves to touch my cheek and as he does the entire world falls away and I'm back in the cell with Sky. I feel wildly different. As if my blood is surging with magic. I feel Vox much closer and more integrated with me and I feel strong.
The door opens and Luria looks at me. She has red puffy eyes and I can tell that she's been crying. I had been suspicious before, but now I know why all of this has happened.
She walks up and places her hands on the bars as she speaks. "I'm so sorry Leon. I never meant for any of this. I was just so frightened by what you could do. I didn't know what to do..." She tells me and I can see she's working hard to hold back her tears.
I'm angry and I won't ever trust her again. But she's not the one who hates Deviant Mages. "Why, Luria?"
She sniffles a bit. "After you summoned Brim, I was terrified. Not only of you but of your dragon familiar. No mage should have what you have Leon! The destruction you could cause is unimaginable. Only the gods should have endless magic available to them. I was worried when you opened up, about what you would do... could do..."
I can't hide my tone of anger. "Did you think I wanted to cause death and destruction? Was that what you were worried about?"
"Yes... ... ... But I was wrong. I knew that, as soon as I saw how hard you worked to save me and Sky. How much you cared and how kind you truly are. But it was too late... I had sent Ricci to Castiell that morning, telling him I found a mage with a dragon familiar. I never mentioned it was you! I swear! I only wanted his advice... But when I came back, he had already sent word to the Arch Mages. I refused to tell him who it was. They assumed it was Sky and they..." She begins to cry as she places her hands over her face.
"What did they do Luria?" I shout at her.
She moves her hands down to her chin as she speaks through her hands. "There's a powerful spell... that traps a person in their own mind... A minute can be made into a day... They thought it was Sky as Castiell had been suspicious of him from before. I told him it wasn't, but he wouldn't listen. And when Sky refused to speak, they tortured him until he told them everything he knew about you... I'm so sorry Leon... I didn't want this... I... "
They have been torturing Sky! I glance down at the unconscious body as I feel my blood begin to boil. I can't listen to her anymore.
Luria is interrupted as I walk through the bars and she looks at me in horror. I never showed her this Ghost spell. She steps back but not fast enough.
The woman I thought I could love... did this to me and my friend... I grab her throat and lift her off the ground as she claws at my hand to let her go.
I feel the urge to kill her, but my previous feelings for her along with my feelings for her family make me think twice about it. I end up flinging her across the room as her body flies into the wall and she falls to the floor, unconscious.
I walk back into the cell as I bend down to Sky. His white hair is no longer in a neat tie at the back of his head like it normally is. It's loose and hanging down the side of face. He looks so young and fragile like this. I hate it.
I place my hands on the stones holding him prisoner as I flood them with magic. I feel the stones refusing the existence of magic and I have to put quite a bit of force behind it but eventually the stones seem to not be able to withstand the barrage of magic surging into them as they begin to crack and then they explode into tiny black sand.
I begin shaking him to try and wake him up. He opens his eyes and looks at me and then begins to cry as he crawls his way into the far corner of the cell.
"You're not real. Please don't do this to me!" He says through his sobs as he clings to his knees.
My whole body is filled with sadness and sympathy for my friend. I've never seen him remotely like this. Even when he had a limp broken arm, he kept his dark wit and humour. But now...
I realise he must still think he's trapped in some nightmare torture world inside his mind. I don't know how to convince him, so I summon forth Brim.
My dragon erupts from my chest and rolls over the floor towards Sky in his comical ways. Sky looks at Brim with intensity.
"Summon Thunder." I tell him in a calm and soothing manner.
Sky looks back at me through teary eyes. He summons Thunder who spills out from his chest with its long blue body and black flame mane.
We sit still for several moments as we watch Brim and Thunder playing on the ground in front of us.
Eventually Sky stands up and moves in to hug me. "It's really you! I'm so sorry Leon. I told them everything... I wasn't strong enough." He says into my shoulder.
I feel his body shaking as he hugs me tightly. "It's okay Sky. I'll get us out of here. Okay?"
He moves away from me and nods.
I start by drawing the Ghost rune on his chest as I channel my magic through it and into his clothes. I tell him he should be able to go through the bars now as well as the doors. Then I draw the rune for walking on walls which as yet to be named by Sky.
We have our familiars disappear as we walk through the bars of the cell together. Sky looks quite uncomfortable and I don't blame him. It's a strange and quite unpleasant feeling walking through anything, let alone this magic defying material.
I tell Sky to go through the door with me and up the stairs. I'm going back out the main door, but Sky will go further up into the tower. He'll exit out of the library and go to his home, take what he needs then I tell him to meet me where we made camp.
As I tell him the instructions, I can tell that he's broken. His eyes are dim, he only nods in response and doesn't seem to question anything. He even fails no notice Luria lying in the far side of the room. He's a shell of his former self.
We begin by walking through the wooden door together as we start ascending the stone stairs leading up in a spiral. When we get to the first door, leading out into the library, I give him a quick hug and he continues upwards and what I'm hoping will be to safety.
I could go with him, but although I've been calm and polite around Sky, I still can't douse the fire raging inside of me with pure fury. I'm going to kill Castiell for hurting Sky. My body is surging with power and I know Vox is just below the surface, waiting to help if I need it. But I force him down as I will begin this on my own. He's given me enough power to deal with these people.
As I take a step towards the door, I hear voices just on the other side. It's Castiell and Mio. I put my ear to the door, and I had almost forgotten my still active spell as my ear moves into the wood. I notice that I'm able to hear their voices much better through the vibrations in the wood as I listen in on what they are talking about. I can hear that they are very close.
I can hear Mio's self-righteous voice. "There won't be a further discussion about this Castiell. This happened under your nose, don't think the council of Arch Mages will forget that. Now, we get answers as to who this god is. Then he dies. End of story. There has never been a case of a god possessing someone and we can't risk what it entails. I speak for the Arch Mages on this matter."
Castiell has clearly been arguing in what I assume to be my favour as I hear him speak. "All I ask is that you consider the possibilities of having a mage with his... gifts at our disposal. We could use him"
They're planning to kill me... or worse, use me.
I hear Mio's voice, he sounds like a general when he speaks, as if his words are final. "I won't hear another word of this. Come now, let's attend these children and be done with it."
As I hear his words, I can also hear him taking steps towards me. I back away from the door as I summon as much air magic into my lungs as I can manage.
The door opens and Mio's eyes go wide as he sees me. But I've already started blowing. Forcing magic into my body to increase the strength of my breath I blow out all the air inside me with as much force as I can manage.
Where before I felt as if the magic within me was like a constant breath of air it has now turned into a whirling tornado of power and strength.
Without realising the difference in strength, the entire door blows off its hinges as both Castiell and Mio along with all the guards that were standing outside, blow away from the tower I'm standing in.
I walk through the door and see the destruction I've caused. The two large wood doors I had destroyed earlier has been removed and the large doorway into the library is now filled with bodies of guards and the mages.
They all scramble to get up as I step out, standing in front of the tower. There're now 10 capitol legion guards with grey and gold armour pointing their spears at me. There're three Crimson Legion guards with red armour getting up and moving towards me... Wait. Three.
The grey and crimson legion guards are standing in an arrow formation with Castiell and Mio at the tip. The three red legion members are by the sides of the mages as one of them takes off their helmet.
I know who it is by the way he moves... Ryan. I knew those vines wouldn't hold him for long, but he should not have come here.
I feel my rage dying down slightly as I watch his blond hair come free from the helmet and falling down his armour as he looks at me with his eyes that give away the fear and worry, he feels.
"Leon. How did you get out?!" Mio yells at me. Finally showing some real emotion on his face. He looks terrified as his incredibly long brown hair has become frazzled from the wind and him being blown down to the ground.
I look away from Ryan to Mio. I remain in control of my body and I ask Vox to stay away as I want this to be done by my hands. I can still feel him inside and he speaks to me as I take Vox's words into consideration before I speak.
"You realize you tried to contain a god... defy a god... What gives an insignificant tiny elf like you, the right to try and control and go against the will of Vox?"
As I speak, I know I don't want an answer. As he opens his mouth, I stomp my foot into the ground. This time I didn't do it to feel the vibrations to help me guide my magic. This time I did it to shake the earth.
A strong tremor shakes the entire library and parts of the city as books fall down from their shelves and cracks form in the stones around me.
It was enough to quiet Mio down. As the entire room stands silent for a few moments Ryan begins to walk towards me. Dropping his helmet on the ground. Behind him and out on the street I see several towns people fleeing their homes as they notice what's going on.
"Let's just leave Leon. Please. Don't hurt anyone... just you and me." Ryan says as he walks towards me slowly.
"They've made the decision to kill me Ryan. I heard him!" I yell back feeling my teenage voice almost break like I was 13 again.
"Then use your magic to get us out of here safely. Just..."
He's only a step away from me now as he lifts his hand and strokes my cheek.
"Leon. I need you to know..."
His eyes look at me with such intensity that I feel myself relaxing.
Before he's able to finish his sentence his armour slams into mine and we crash into the wall behind me. My head bangs against the stone and I feel Ryan's armour stuck to my body. The impact and the shock kept me from feeling it, but my stomach is burning. I begin screaming in pain as I push Ryan away from my body. When I do, I feel it in my stomach. I'm pulling Castiell's burning sword out of me.
I scream in agony as I fling Ryan off me and his body falls limp to the ground. Castiell has summoned 2 creatures from the ground made of stone. Like stone men who are now rushing at me along with the two closest guards.
I'm on my knee as blood is pouring from the side of my stomach where the sword pierced me. I use the stone below me to make a wall between me and the soldiers. Buying myself some time.
I still have the blood symbols on my hands from healing Sky, so I immediately move over to Ryan and begin to heal him, but I can't feel it working. I focus on the magic water enveloping his stomach when I feel it. There's nothing to heal... He's dead. The sword went through his spine...
Blood is dripping from my lips as I sit down next to him as I start crying. I hear the commotion on the other side of the stone wall and suddenly the wall explodes. I don't even look away from Ryan as I summon up another, thicker wall to block me off into a now very small area between the stone tower and a wall.
My tears are streaming down my face as I start to feel my consciousness slipping away. I lift my hands and begin healing myself.
I sit there. The whole world feels silent, but I can feel the vibrations of fire and stone hands banging on the other end of the wall trying to get to me. Trying to kill me. As they killed Ryan.
I can't believe they would sacrifice him like an animal. Just to try and kill me. What have I done to deserve this...?
As I'm healing myself, I feel it working much faster than before. As if my increased magic speeds, up the process. Within a minute I'm standing back up. No longer sad. Instead there's only blood lust. A powerful urge to hurt those who have hurt me.
I move up to the wall I created, and it melts away onto the ground as if it was always sand. I'm met with 10 spears and now 4 of those stone men. The only one that doesn't seem to have moved is Mio, but I can see his lips moving. He's uttering a spell.
"He's dead" I declare to the room as I point to Ryan's lifeless body. "As you all will be."
The guards take a step back, but the 4 stone men charge at me with heavy steps. I move over and pull the flaming sword from the ground where it fell after Ryan died. I'm guessing Castiell couldn't control it when he couldn't see it.
I hold the flaming hilt in my hand as I force a tremendous amount of magic into the sword and I can feel the sword almost screaming. The flames go from bright orange to the colour I've come to love.
As the stone men approach, I swing my sword engulfed in purple flames at them as they disintegrate with each hit as if they were nothing more than dust and sand. I see Castiell's face and his old worn grey face is one of horror as he begins backing away towards the road leading up to the library. Mio is right behind him. But 12 guards are standing firm. They must still believe their magic resisting armour will defend them against me. That's cute...
Two of them approach and I wrap the stone from the floor beneath them, around their armour as I slowly squeeze the stone. I feel their metal armour buckling and bending, becoming the very thing that kills them as they are slowly crushed by stone. They scream in agony as they're slowly squeezed to death. Blood flows down the floor like the juice of a freshly squeezed orange.
Four more guards approach me, and I pull in air magic into my lungs while channeling fire magic into my hands like I had before. Only this time. I don't hold anything back. Using all force available to me as I blow out.
Purple flames explode from my mouth. The increased magic power I received from Vox almost makes me fly away from the strong blast it creates. The entire hallway is blown away. Parts of the roof go shooting out towards Moorea and falling on roof tops still burning dark purple. The legion guards have all be flown outside by the force of my blast. Some seem to have died instantly while others are screaming in agony as their helmets and armour is melting onto their bodies.
When the dust settles, I've destroyed almost half of the library as I begin to walk outside into the darkness of the evening. I see the Griffin from before burning on the ground, drawing its last breath. I quickly splash it with water magic to put it out as I move over to heal it before it dies. I had no intention of hurting this creature and I felt bad it was caught in the explosion. It only takes a few moments before it's fully healed then I sever its restraints and it takes off into the air.
I walk for a few moments before I see Castiell and Mio. Mio has run all the way to the fountain in the town square. He' walking around the fountain drawing runes into the side of it and Castiell is standing just at the edge of the southern road where I am. As if guarding Mio.
I see several villagers exiting their homes and fleeing in fear as stones have landed on buildings and everyone felt the ground shake. I don't care for their lives but if they flee, I won't chase them.
"Don't do this Leon!" Castiell yells at me as he sees me approaching with his Relic Weapon in my hands.
I can't stop myself now. My blood is on fire and I want this more than I've wanted anything. These people wanted to kill me for having a god as a partner. They hurt Sky in ways I don't even know. They made Luria cry and they try to control... everything. They killed... Ryan... The hatred I feel is unbearable.
I lift the sword up as I hold it out towards Castiell. I place both hands on the sword and while flowing magic through it, I bend my hands and snap his god given sword in my hands and throw the pieces onto the ground as the magic dissipates and the flames die down. It's nothing more than a broken sword now.
"Isn't this what you wanted? A reason to fear me. To KILL ME!" I scream across to him.
My body is trembling with hatred as I scream and without realising it, I cause another tremor. This is felt throughout all of Moorea. People are already fleeing but now buildings are falling apart by the shock and even Castiell is struggling staying on his feet.
When the shaking stops, Castiell holds his left arm out and a unicorn is summoned from thin air. It must be his familiar.
A bright white horse with a burning red flame for a mane along with a spiral horn on its head. It's truly a beautiful creature. Too bad I'll have to send it back to the spirit realm.
Castiell jumps up on the unicorn and I can hear him muttering a spell as he leans into the neck and mane of the unicorn. I simply watch him as I know there's nothing he could possibly do right now to keep me from killing him... Painfully.
I'm caught by surprise when both him and the unicorn begin shining incredibly bright and I have to look away for a second. As the light dims down, what stands in front of me is no longer Castiell, or the unicorn. He's merged his body with his familiar. Even through my anger I feel my amazement at what can be done with magic.
What stands before me now is something different all together. The head of the unicorn has been replaced with the naked upper body of Castiell. His hair has been replaced by the burning mane of the unicorn and his forehead has the horn pointing towards the clouds in the dark evening.
I find myself smiling, he's worthy of being called a Grand Mage and I feel Vox agreeing with me. But I know he only called his familiar because he was running out of magic available to him. Maybe interrogating Sky used up more than he would have liked. Luria's words come back to me. Only gods and magical creatures can bestow magic on others.
For a moment I consider summoning my own familiar, but I don't want little Brim to get hurt. Even though he's probably more than capable of handling this situation himself.
I don't know a plethora of battle spells like he does so instead, I go back to a classic.
Castiell rides towards me and he brings forth flaming balls in his hands as he begins to throw them at me.
I manage to duck the first one but the second one grazes my shoulder and I feel it burning me.
I don't have time to heal myself, so I fight fire with fire. Bringing up my hands I shoot fire from my palms as I engulf his body while jumping out of the way as he's running toward me on all fours.
He's trying to fight me with both magic and his physical body. Dangerous. I'm not sure my punch would do much against him in that huge body.
He quickly douses himself with water to extinguish the flames I started, but I can see that he's hurt and exhausted.
I decide its time to end this. I place my hands on the ground as I summon several hundreds of vines breaking through the ground on both my left and the right side of my body.
Castiell tries to gallop away but I send the vines flying after him quicker than he could turn and run. I grab both of his back legs as his front legs and torso fall onto the ground as I slowly drag him back towards me.
I lift him off the ground and slam him back into the stone street as I see blood shooting from his mouth.
Using the vines, I move him towards Mio who is still doing something to the fountain. I feel the urge to interrupt him, but Vox tells me not to. I'm not sure why, but I leave him to his chanting.
I slam Castiell into the ground again in front of the fountain and I see Mio's eyes look at Castiell with worry. As I go to lift Castiell to try and break him some more he holds his hands over his mouth and before I can react, he's solidified his blood into a spear, and he sends it flying towards me.
I don't have a second to think before the projectile pierces my left shoulder and I'm sent flying down on the ground. I scream out in pain as I break the blood arrow and pull myself off the ground. The arrow went through my body just below my collarbone and blood is running down my chest. But I decide not to heal myself, but kill him without hesitation this time.
I wanted him to feel as much pain as elvenly possible before I killed him. For Ryan and for Sky. But I've had enough. He's lived long enough.
I walk back to where my vines are sticking up from the ground as I place my hands on them so I can direct them easier than through my feet into the ground.
Castiell is still on the ground in his unicorn/elven hybrid form as I wrap all four of his hoofs and legs along with his torso in my vines.
"This is for Ryan." I say silently to myself as I pull Castiell apart while he screams in pain. First his two front legs come tearing off, then his torso is ripped off his unicorn body.
I fling the pieces of Castiell to Mio as guts and blood spill onto the ground beneath him.
I let go of the vines as I move towards Mio who's now kneeling below the edge of the fountain holding both hands on top of it. As I get closer, I can see writing in blood going around the entire ring of the fountain.
Vox tells me to wait but I'm getting anxious to kill Mio as well. But I feel Vox, and he feels strongly about whatever Mio is doing. So instead, I sit down on the stone ground as I begin to heal myself while keeping an eye on the Arch Mage.
I look around and see the destruction I've caused already. Several houses have crumbled, and every citizen in the area has fled. The place looks deserted beyond us here, and the dead unicorn-elf lying split in two with blood pooling in excessive amounts.
It doesn't take long before I'm fully healed and if Vox won't tell my why Mio shouldn't just die, then maybe Mio will.
"Nothing you can do will stop me from killing you, elf!" I yell to the kneeling Arch Mage.
A few seconds pass when I hear Vox inside of me. He sounds almost excited. "Finally! Now it's my turn Leon."
I'm not sure what he means but Mio seems to be finished with what he's doing as he turns around and looks at me.
He moves over to Castiell's upper body and places his palms into the pool of blood that's formed by his guts. Then he walks back to the fountain and he slams his hands down on the edge of the fountain.
As he does the entire ground begins to shake viciously. The water in the fountain begins to float in the air and in the distance, I see the entire river going running along the northern and eastern part of the city rise into the air.
I stand up and take a step back as the earth continues to shake violently and I see the entire river floating in the air like a water serpent swimming. My entire body can feel the magic permeating the air around the entire city.
Mio looks almost ill as he speaks. "It's not about me dying or not. It's about stopping you... You're not the only one with a god Leon."
His words are followed by him falling on the ground on all fours and vomiting and heaving. He must have exhausted everything he had in this one spell. What has he done?
Just as I'm about to ask what it is, I feel Vox inside me. "Leon, let me take over. You need me to survive this," His words come out calm, but I can feel how serious he is.
Just as I allow Vox to fill me and take control of my body the fountain erupts and the largest creature I've ever seen comes exploding out.
Pieces of the Fountain are sent flying in every direction and I feel myself flinch in fear, but Vox has my body and he stands firm. The creature escaping is one I would recognise anywhere after only having seen it once. On the scrolls during the last day of the banishment...
The god Leviathan has emerged. Spiralling out of fountain and into the air is a long slender water serpent with bright pink scales and claws that are attached to its wings like the web of a fish's fin. It hovers in the air without moving as it looks down on us with its bright blue eyes and sharp mouth.
Mio summoned a god! How is he able to do that?! I look down at him and he seems to be losing consciousness.
Vox is laughing as we watch the god hovering over the entire square like a large pink blanket with claws and a sharp mouth with two large teeth sticking out from the top. The river is still floating in the air as the god observes us for a few seconds before Vox speaks.
"You should never have come here! Defying me is the last thing you will do." The voice coming from me is all Vox and his voice is booming across the town square with a feral sound that makes the ground quake as he commands the space.
I understand why Vox took control. There's no way I could survive against a god that was summoned by an Arch mage.
I let Vox do what he likes, and he begins chanting strange words and sounds I've never heard before... But I have. When I was leaving dad, I heard them.
I look down and my arms and my veins are glowing purple as they seem to be channeling some strange magic.
Suddenly the river surrounding the city rises up like a wave. Several hundred feet tall as it moves over the city.
A tsunami is about to hit the city and Vox refuses to move...
Just as the Tsunami hits the northern end of Moorea it crashes into buildings and roofs come flying off in the destruction and intense pressure of the wave. Vox jumps up with incredible speed and power onto one of the roofs before taking another leap towards Leviathan.
My hands are claws but my feet have also transformed into the dog paws I had seen before with large claws coming out.
As the city below is attacked by forceful water we fly through the air towards the pink serpent. It tries to fly away but it's much bigger than we are and unable to move its entire body in time.
As Vox controls my body, he begins to rip into the wings of Leviathan and the creature screams out as it begins to swirl and spin. Vox is thrown off and onto a roof of a building. We were able to avoid the Tsunami by jumping above it... Unbelievable. The streets are still emptying from the tsunami with water escaping into the ground slowly.
Vox takes no time to recover before he jumps back up towards Leviathan. The serpent is just as quick in recovery and we can see it inhaling before a blue spark is formed in its mouth. The dragon then exhales and with it comes a piercing screeching sound as a water jet stream shoots into the ground and moves up towards Vox.
The jet stream is splitting the earth with its power and just before the thin water jet hits us, Vox maneuvers us mid-jump by holding his arm out and a fiery explosion shoots from his hand. Projecting us sideways and just barely escaping the thin but powerful jet stream moving up and through the city, south.
Vox looks back and the jet stream was so powerful it split the earth going all the way from Moorea, through the library and even the mountains in the distance have a new ravine in them. I can feel Vox's displeasure with the God over this act.
Vox again lands on the thin long wings holding the god floating above the city. This time he moves up and starts slashing at the neck as it begins to spin to get Vox to fly off.
This time he summons a purple fire whip from his hand that he wraps around the neck of Leviathan as Vox jumps back towards the tavern.
Leviathan is forcefully dragged down and explodes into several buildings as it comes crashing down with incredible strength. The water has fully receded from the street, but the entire city is destroyed in the battle.
Still having the whip around the neck of Leviathan, Vox moves to its mouth and pries its pink mouth open.
The dragon doesn't have teeth in the normal sense. It's all one slender but sharp opening around its mouth with four large teeth in the corner going above and below it's mouth. The god has shining blue eyes that remind me of Luria.
The blue spark appears again inside the mouth of Leviathan and he inhales as Vox speaks.
"Let's not destroy more of our world." Vox doesn't move out of the way this time. He simply holds his hand up. Our... right-hand up, as the water dragon fires off another jet water attack, point blank into the palm of our hand.
Nothing happens. The jet is fully stopped by our hand and Vox does not seem fazed over the attack that had just a moment ago split a mountain.
Leviathan begins to scramble with its legs, and I can feel it trying to pull away from Vox in fear.
"I'm sorry old friend. I can't allow you to defy me." Vox says as he again, holding the mouth of the god open as Vox opens our mouth and powerful fire explodes from our breath and into the pink serpent. More fire and power than I have ever felt.
The fire fills the dragon as it screams and tries to claw its way backwards but after several seconds of this fire going into it, it falls down and dies.
Vox makes another fire whip around the neck of the now deceased Leviathan and begins to drag it back towards what used to be the city square. Buildings crumble and are destroyed as the pink serpent is dragged through them but Vox doesn't flinch as he keeps walking as if he's dragging a leaf, instead of a giant god.
Just by the now broken fountain, lies Mio. Barely conscious and holding on as he seems untouched by the tsunami. Leviathan must have made sure not to hurt him in the process.
Vox drags the god back and releases the whip just in front of Mio on the ground, who's now looking at us in something akin to terror. He's on his back trying to back away using his hands and feet as his long brown hair covers the now grimy and wet stone street. His green cape is stained with the blood of Castiell and drenched in the flood that swept the city.
"What have you done?!" He tells us as we bend down by his side.
I'm still in shock over what just transpired. What Vox used my body to do. I let him speak.
"How old are you, elf?" Vox demands from the Arch Mage that looks to be 15-years old.
"I'm 231 years old. I... and I have never..." He begins speaking when Vox interrupts him.
Vox voice erupts across the entire city as he speaks with a power that commands attention. "I abhor killing old creatures! I have known Leviathan since the dawn of this world. And look what happened when he defied me! Tell your fellow mages of the destruction you caused by ruling with fear and intimidation. Stand in my way again... and the world will meet the same fate, this city has."
A sadness rolls over my soul as he speaks. Not only is Vox powerful beyond belief but he's also kind and intelligent. I've always known it, but he's never shown it in this way. I felt his love when he saved me. I felt his sorrow when he saw Sky, hurt. I felt his rage when people try to control or contain me. He wants everything I want... Freedom.
Then Vox does something unexpected. I feel his intentions are not to let Mio get away fully unharmed. Mio's arms and legs are suddenly wrapped in stone forming around him as he's held down. Mio looks up at us in horror as Vox claws away the clothing around Mio's groin. Suddenly Mio's cock is exposed and it's 3 inches flaccid and Vox moves his hands to his cock as the claws protruding from his fingertips disappear into his hands as he wraps one hand around both cock and balls while the other hand moves down to his asshole. I can still feel everything Vox is doing with my body as his finger finds the young-looking 231-year-old Arch Mage's, tight ass. He clenches but it makes no difference as Vox uses strength to push not just one but two fingers into his hole as the Arch Mage screams in pain as he's being forced open.
Vox clamps down around the mages cock and balls as he has them both wrapped in a tight grip. He fingers the Mage until he finds what he was looking for. The prostate. He places both fingers on the prostate and pushes firmly as he begins speaking in the strange language again. My arms bulge as the muscles ripple down my arms and into my hands. I can feel some strange magic going into the Arch Mage. Vox is done in an instant, but nothing looks different. I wonder what Vox has done... Mio is constantly yelling but when Vox pulls his fingers out of him, he quickly shuts up.
As Vox kneels by Mio's side he summons forth Brim. Mio's eyes go wide as the tiny creature comes flying out of my chest and rolls onto the ground as it lands on its head while getting its bearings. Brim stands up and eventually jumps up and gets comfortable on my left shoulder as my head is currently home to antlers so he can't sit there.
Mio doesn't say anything besides looking at us as Vox stands up and begins walking away. West out of the city.
He relinquishes my body back to me and I stop. I'm just at the edge of town. I take a moment to look at myself. My hands are my own again. My vest has a large tear above my left nipple where I was pierced by the blood spear and my pants have a tear on my right thigh as well as the bottom of my left leg. I look terrible... I decide to take a sideroad back to my house to pick up my few belongings and make sure the family was okay.
I feel like a shell of a person as I walk. As if I'm moving without using muscles or any brain power. As I make my way back to my house while avoiding the main square, I see the destruction I... We, caused everywhere. Buildings have been torn apart by the quakes, some were severely damaged by the river becoming a dangerous tsunami flooding the city. There's not a single person around but I've already seen a few dead bodies of people who couldn't escape in time.
Even as I see the wet bodies lying against walls and under fallen debris, I don't feel anything for them. As if I've exhausted myself of emotions. I just keep on walking.
I finally find my way to my house and I look through the doorway where the front door used to be, and I see the family there. They're looking around at their house as the flood destroyed their windows, ruined their beds and their furniture is shattered and all over the place. I can see the door open to their basement and I'm guessing they were able to stay safe in there.
They all look at me as I look at them. Lana is crying and holding both hands over her mouth as tears stream down her face. Geoff is holding Milo back as he looks at me with eyes that betray both fear and anger. Milo is crying but trying to run to me but being held back by his father. I can hear him screaming but I can't make out what he's saying. They're not only seeing me, but Brim, for the first time. I feel numb as I look away from them and make my way up the stairs to my room. There's nothing I could say...
Some of the steps have broken but as I walk new steps are made from the stone from the building. I'm not thinking it or channeling it. It just happens.
I find my room and the roof has broken in several places and the room is damaged from the flood, but I find my blue bag in the corner on the floor. I go to pick it up as I leave.
I make my way north of the city until I get to the river. The bridge is broken so I cross the water by wading through it. The warm water feels nice on my body and I feel myself coming alive a little.
I follow the river east and then south as I begin making my way to where I was planning to meet Sky.
It's completely dark out so the trip takes almost the entire night. I finally see him by the old fire pit we had made as he looks up at me when I approach in the dark. He hasn't lit the firepit but sits there in silence. Unable to sleep. He leans his back against a tree I had used to make the shelter for the rain.
Without saying a word, I lay down on the grass by his feet as I pull him down towards me. I put my forehead to his chest and it's not until he silently wraps his arm around me that I let go.
I begin crying like I've never cried in my life. Tears streaming down my face as my body heaves in pain and sorrow. All the anger has dissipated and all I'm left with, is this...
We lay there for a long time as I cry into his chest. As the sun begins to rise, we both finally fall asleep.
We don't get many hours of rest before the life of the forest along with the intense sunshine wakes us up. We spend the whole day mostly by the camp, looking at our familiars that seem unfazed by our recent events as they are as happy and playful as ever. It helps watching them. We make a fire and I go and collect some berries. We're lucky when a stray rabbit comes a little to close to us and I use my magic to pierce it with a wood arrow. We stay silent throughout the day as we lay in the sun, rest and eat and drink.
It's not until night falls when I decide I miss my cheerful friend.
"Sky... If you want to talk about it... I'm here".
Sky looks up at me but then back again at Thunder who's wrapped up in a ball in his lap. He strokes the water serpents head and down the black flames on it's back. "Castiell cast a spell. And yea, for about two weeks... He tortured me both physically and mentally... until I broke. There's not much to say. It was horrible. It's over." His words come out like a whisper as if speaking louder would make him break.
It's the first sentences we've spoken to each other in over a day. I know I need to keep it going. "What did he do?"
He stares intensely into the fire. "Physically... burned me, beat me and nearly drowned me... Mentally... He pretended to be you, Luria... My family... He played tricks on my mind. He forced me to go almost two weeks... without... relieving myself. Every time I tried touching myself, he would hurt me."
Oh Vox. I can't believe they would be so extreme. I had nearly gone mad at the banishment after only a few days. I can't believe he held up for so long. No wonder he broke. The urges and the pain must have been an excruciating combination.
"I'm so sorry Sky. I can't believe he did that. You lasted much longer than I think I ever could have. You must have been so happy when it was over." I say trying to sound calm and try and steer the focus on a brighter future.
"I can't... I never relieved myself after their torture. I'm afraid of the pain, alright." He says quietly as if he hoped I wouldn't hear it.
"Sky! You're telling me you haven't released in Vox knows how many days, right now!" I practically yell at him. How is he able to stay so calm and collected! I'm twitching just thinking about going that long. It can't be healthy.
And just like that, I take a look at him through the flames that light up the dark evening, and I can't believe I hadn't noticed. I was so caught up in my own pain, sorrow and numbness that I completely missed the signs. It's like a veil has fallen and I can properly see Sky now. He's constantly twitching his legs. He looks as if he's sweating even though he's been sitting down for hours and his breath is shallow.
He looks at me with a mixture of anger and sadness as he grabs the outline of what I can now see is his erect cock through his shorts. "What do you think? I can't, every time I even think about it, I feel the pain I felt during that... FUCK!" He screams out in frustration as Thunder jumps away from Sky and wraps itself around Brim who's on the other side of the firepit.
I feel his sadness and frustration in his scream. But he has to unload.
He's sitting with his legs straight forward while leaning against a tree as he slams his hands into the grass next to him.
I move over and straddle him as I hug him for a moment, and he wraps his arms around my body.
I look at him and his long white hair that he still hasn't tied in his usual fashion. It's hanging down both sides of his head and down to his neck, hiding his shaved sides and ears under the hair. But I know my auburn braid has come undone during the fighting and I haven't fixed it yet. We haven't even bathed yet and when I'm sitting on top of my friend like this, the musk and sweat of our bodies becomes quite strong. I push through it as I know I need to help my friend.
I move my hand down to his crotch as I squeeze his cock through his shorts. It feels massive and incredibly thick.
"Leon... don't" He begins as he feels me touching him through his shorts. He takes his hands off my back as he tries to remove my hand.
I squeeze tighter. "Don't try and stop me. I'll bind you if I have to." I tell him as I smirk, letting him know I would never hurt him, but this is for his best interest.
My knees are on both sides of his hips and his cock is going up the side of his left leg as I clench my right hand around it.
Sky tries to pry my arm off him, not with any real force, but enough to tell me to stop. I don't, as I begin squeezing more and more. I can tell Sky is already struggling.
Eventually he tries to push me back so I'm longer straddling him, but I take his wrists and push them over his head and into the wood which forms two restraints, keeping him tied.
He doesn't say anything as he just looks at me with eyes that tell me he wants to be released from agony but he's afraid of the pain he felt. Maybe he's still worried he's in that nightmare world. I'll show him that he's not.
I place my hand on his exposed knee as I slowly move my hand up his shorts until I find his warm cock that has escaped his loin cloth. I move his cock, so it stick out of the leg of his pants as I begin slowly stroking just the head of what looks to be a thicker cock than mine.
Sky closes his eyes and starts moaning as I pull his hard cock and playing with his foreskin and with the exposed two inches of his cock.
Sky moans louder than I thought he would, as I straddle his lower legs as I play with his cock through his shorts.
I begin unbuttoning them as I push his cock back up, so it falls upwards against his stomach.
His cock hugs his stomach as I wrap my hand around it and start jerking him as he continues to moan, louder and louder. My knuckles rub up and down his flat stomach as I hold his 8-inch cock in my hand. It's quite a bit thicker than mine making him an absolute monster of a cock.
"Fuck Yes! Your warm hand around my cock feels so good!" Sky begins to talk as he keeps his eyes shut.
"Keep that up! Yes, rub the tip. Just like that! Fuck!" He keeps speaking as I play with his cock with both hands as I jerk him faster and faster. Sky's balls are still hidden under his shorts.
I had no idea Sky was so... verbal.
"Fuck Leon. Squeeze harder. Yes! Yes! Fuck!" His words keep coming as he moans louder and louder.
I feel his warm cock pulsing in my hand. His several days worth of build up must really be making an exit as Sky begins to shake as his arms are kept firm and locked against the tree as I forcibly jerk him off.
Following every direction, he spits out, to give him the greatest pleasure.
"I'm gonna Cum alright! Fuck me! Feels so good! Keep going!" His moans are turning me on more than I thought they would. I've never heard someone speak like that. Sky has always had a foul mouth. Much more than I at least. Dad never let me use curse words and he would slap me if I ever uttered them. But Sky talking like this feels... free somehow.
I wrap both hands on the length of his cock now as I squeeze and play with my thumbs on the underside of his thick member as I jerk him with incredible speed. I feel his cock pulsating as he begins to shoot his cum. I've been jerking him towards his own body, so his first shot goes way above his head and hits his hands and arms as well as some in his hair and face. The next wave hits him on his forehead and nose and then his entire chest and underneath his chain gets sprayed as he keeps shooting viciously as I continue jerking him off.
I never stop while he's coming, and he screams out in a loud moan accompanied by a drawn out "Fuck!".
As his cum stops shooting I keep jerking him off but slower and as his breath calms down slightly he begins to shake as I rub my hands over his cock, especially the head. I keep jerking him and he begins twisting as if in both pain and pleasure.
"Fuck Leon. I'm so sensitive now. Stop!" He begs but something about the way he squirms makes me want to continue. I play with his cock a little further now that it's all cum covered and slippery. I play with his head as he tries to get away and his body jerks in reaction to my movements over his cock. I like seeing a man this powerless.
Eventually I let him go and he calms his breath. He has cum dripping over both eyes, over nearly half his face and his entire chest and flat stomach is wet with cum as I let his hands go.
He immediately wipes it away from his eyes as he opens them and smiles at me. The first smile I've seen since all this happened. "Who knew little Leon had it in him. Taking control like that. Don't reckon your safe mate. I'll get you back one day. But seriously, thanks... I wasn't sure what I would feel, and I was... scared."
"You're my friend Sky. I will always help you." I tell him as I smile back.
"Always, huh. Careful what you promise kiddo" He tells me with a wink as rubs his palms on his cum covered chest then he slaps both of my cheeks in a wet... sloppy... slap.
He pushes me back on my shoulders, so I fall onto the moss bed and he flings himself, so he lays on top of me. His wet body sliding up against mine. "Mmm, doesn't this feel nice ey!" He says while he laughs as he holds my arms down. He slides his smooth chest over my hairy muscles coating me in his cum as he pretends to be an animal by pushing his head up and down the sides of my face. Rubbing his cum covered face and hair into me as he does.
I can't help but laugh as I allow him to pin me down for a while as we joke around. His cock is still out of his pants which have now come down to his knees as he wriggles up and down my body and I can feel his soft cock against my stomach.
I roll him over as we wrestle for a while and laugh like we used to. It feels good but we both know it's only temporary.
Eventually we stop while he's on top and his cum has now become sticky as he rests his head on my chest. We both lay still for a while as I look down my body as Sky stares off to the side, his horns poking up at my head.
He gets serious as he speaks. "So, what exactly happened Leon. I saw that... thing. I had just crossed the river to the east of Moorea when the whole fucking river started floating in the air like some extreme form of magic... and then... That was Leviathan... Wasn't it?"
I haven't quite understood it all myself and Vox had gone almost completely quiet since we left Moorea and I have been afraid to ask. "Yea. I don't know how but Mio managed to summon Leviathan to fight me and Vox. But um... Vox won. They uh... killed Ryan." As I say the words, I feel tears forming at the corners of my eyes as I try my best not to let it start again.
Ryan had wanted to say something to me when he died. And I'm afraid I know what... I'm not sure I can ever forgive myself for letting him die like that. He just... wanted... me.
And I think... I wanted him.
I drape my arm over my eyes as I lose control and quiet tears stream down the sides of my face as Sky remains on my chest.
"I'm sorry Leon. I've been thinking about this and none of this would have happened if I had seen how scared Luria was. I...Fuck...I should have eased her mind. Done something! I think what you can do is so cool, and I want to travel and explore the possibilities with you. But I also understand how it would scare someone like Luria. Who's always known safety in Moorea with her family and her entire ambition was surrounding becoming a Grand Mage and keeping the world safe from harm."
I don't say anything as he speaks. I'm just trying to control my crying as I think of Ryan and Luria and the family and all those people who probably died in the destruction. None of this had to happen if they had just believed in me, if they had just... let me go. I never wanted to hurt anyone. But I also can't allow them to hurt me or the people I care about.
Sky's body is rising and falling with every breath I take and eventually Thunder, and Brim join the pile as they get on top of Sky and lay down as they seem to be almost listening to what Sky is saying.
"All I know is, we need to go somewhere else. I don't know where yet. The council of Arch Mages might have every Legion member and Grand Mage in the world keep their eyes peeled for us. I'm not sure we'll be able to go to big cities or anything. But we can stay here for a little while longer" Sky pushes into my chest a little firmer as he brings his hands up and rests them on my arms.
My tears have subsided as I listen to him. I wrap my arms around his shoulder as I pet Thunder and Brim for a few moments before I drift off to sleep.
The next few days we decide to stay in the area a little longer, but we move ourselves to the rivers edge. We cross the ravine and the stone bridge as we make our way to the river. We first cleaned ourselves and our clothes from all the blood and semen, we were still covered in. Then I use my powers to make a small house using dead, fallen trees and large rocks found in the area. Manipulating the elements, I make a small square house with a flat roof, to keep us warm and dry. I even make a fireplace for us to cook with. Sky looks excited as he sees me floating wood and carving it into fitting pieces and shaping stones into desired shapes as I build the place.
I decide not to make any real furniture as I've come to enjoy a thick mossy bed and I make sure to create only one large bed in the middle of the floor semi close to the fire to keep us warm.
We spend several days there, just bathing in the stream of the river, going for walks in the forests as we talk and laugh. We hunt for food and Sky teaches me some basics of hunting animals. To step lightly and look for tracks in the dirt. Nothing ground-breaking but more than I knew when I started.
We jerk off in bed next to each other every few days, but we don't help each other out, but Sky is verbal even with himself saying how good it feels and how close he is. Like constant updates on every emotion he experiences. I found it unusual at first, but I start to enjoy it after a few days.
One day when we're laying in bed during a late evening, I think back to what Vox had said. He told me to heal Sky. What had he meant? I ask Sky if he was hurt when he left the cell, but he tells me only his mind.
I lay there for quite some time thinking about it as Sky falls asleep hugging me from behind. Eventually it comes to me, and I jump up in excitement. I shake Sky awake.
"Sky! Turn around" I tell him as I shove him on his belly as I pull his coat off his body.
"Leon? What the fuck? I'm not sure what you had in mind here, but I'm not ready for this!" He begins saying with a hint of sarcasm in his voice as he wiggles his butt in the air.
I give his firm cheeks a quick slap as I straddle his ass while I look down at his bare shoulders and back.
I bite my finger and use the blood to draw the healing rune on the top of both hands. I summon water and push it into his back. Making the water large enough to cover his entire back. As soon as I do, I can feel the internal scars where his wings were.
Sky lays there quiet as he must have understood what I'm trying to do. If I can heal tissue, and these wings are physical, then it should work. I feel his body both healing and breaking at the same time. Sky screams out in pain, but he remains on his stomach as I sit on his ass.
Where his beautiful black lines go down, I see them opening up as a little blood escapes and Sky screams out. But then I feel his body has stopped breaking and is now only healing. His body had closed up around the wounds where his wings used to be. There are no bones in his wings, I feel only tissue, and it feels more magical than flesh.
I keep healing him for what must have been a good fifteen minutes as I feel his wings growing inside of him without ever taking up any space on his back. Eventually it's done, and the long black lines running down Sky's back now have a strange opening in them.
I get off Sky's back as I sit next to him. "Are you okay Sky? I'm sorry if it hurt but I think... it worked... Right?" I look at him with hope as he goes to sit up and stare at me.
"Are you fucking serious! Did you just..." As Sky begins to speak his wings shoot out from his back. They are so big they slam into the walls of our little make-shift house.
They are stunning. They are beautifully black, and I was expecting feather wings, but these are something different. They have a round top as they arch just above the height of his head. They are sharp at the top but go slightly inwards towards the middle and the bottom of the wings shoot out in two sharp points. They look thin and delicate but also like something between cloth and feathers. They are certainly magical in nature.
Sky begins to laugh as tears stream down his eyes. His wings span the length of his arms outstretched as he beings feeling the edges with his hands before he wraps his wings around himself. He rolls around in the moss bed for a few moments.
Without saying another word, he pulls the wings back into himself as he stands up and grabs my hands and he runs out the archway serving as our door. We step out into the grass and trees by the river as he runs with me in hand, up to a clearing. He tells me to watch him as he lets go of me and begins bending his knees as if preparing to jump. I can tell he made himself incredibly heavy as the grass buckles beneath him. Then he jumps up and spins wildly. I know he must have made himself incredibly light as he jumped, because he managed to jump nearly 10 feet into the air. As he spins with his white hair loose his wings shoot back out and he begins to fly.
I've never seen Sky so happy and I can't help but laugh as I look at him while he uses his wings for the first time in years. When he flies his wings seem to be releasing black glitter below him.
I stand there watching him as he shows off by walking on tree tops pretending, they are grass and as he flies high into the air. He pretends to fall as he catches himself just before hitting the ground. He's truly enjoying himself as he flies through the night sky.
He looks at peace.
He lands and his wings disappear into his back as he runs up and hugs me so hard, we both fall to the ground as we laugh.
"Thank you, Leon! I can't ever forget this! You're fucking amazing!" He says as he pecks my cheek and rubs his cheek into mine, which has now become a standing joke as we pretend to be Brim and Thunder.
He runs in to the house and brings Thunder and Brim out as they were resting in there. He tells them to join him as he begins flying again and for several moments there is just true bliss as he flies around with my dragon and his water serpent. The way Sky flies give away that he weighs nothing as he barely has to move his wings to keep himself up while Thunder is swimming through the air like a snake wiggling its way through grass. Brim is both flying and walking in the air as if it was the ground itself.
It looks magnificent against the starry skies and the bright moon.
After a pretty long time, I'm laying down on the grass looking up at them when Sky comes down and hovers just above my body as he retracts his wings as he flops down on me as we laugh.
I tell him I'm glad I could take away some of his past pain as I hug him, and we end up sleeping on the grass outside for the remaining hours of the night. It's early summer and the weather is very warm even during the night hours.

The boy speaks before I do.
"I mean you no harm. My name is Wyndall and I'm one of the Arch Mages..."
