The Field Trip

It had been a week since I had gone over to Michael’s house and “helped” him with his song. He didn’t need the help though, as I found out a little later, he had duped me into spending time with him - the nerve of the guy, right? It had gone great … a little too great, actually. We had ended up shirtless on the couch, on top of each other, before the realization that I was going out with Andrew hit me like a golf club to the face.

It wasn’t the making out that had me all flustered - no - it was how intimate everything had gotten a few moments before. Somehow, when we started singing together, I found myself irresistibly attracted to him.

That wouldn’t be much of a problem, really, if I didn’t have to spend the past six hours  on this bus stuck with him on our way to Austin. Being with the rest of our Emanon group made it easier, though.

“Alright guys,” our instructor, Mr. Holland, turned around from the front of the bus and addressed us. “Got about thirty minutes before we arrive at our hotel. Once there, unpack and change into your evening wear. We’ll head out to the university at around seven so please be ready by then.” After telling us this, he turned around and reached into his brown leather satchel. He pulled out a paper and handed it to the student closer to him, Cris. “Go ahead and take note of your room number and roommate. Boys will stay on one floor and girls on the other.”

I stared at the flyer being passed backwards while Tay tried to tell me the difference between the universities  of Austin and Houston one more time.

“Austin is just a much better city, I think.” She stared out the window and pointed towards another cluster of random buildings. “I mean, come on. With Houston’s traffic, you wouldn’t be able to even appreciate some of these buildings, Darren.”

There was very little traffic in Austin right now and I still wasn’t able to appreciate the buildings. All I cared about at this moment was seeing where and with whom I would be rooming with. The paper got passed back to Michael and Diana, another senior. I focused on Michael reading the list while he looked toward the window opposite of his seat, While he stared at the piece of paper in front of him, I found myself staring at his chiseled jaw, the dark brown hair that hung carelessly off the top of his head at just the right length, his adorably cute nose, his way too kissable, soft lips - shit. It was at that moment that Michael turned to hand the paper back to Ileana and Alyssa sitting behind him and caught me staring point blank at him. I blinked quickly and looked out the window following Tay’s gaze.

I had been avoiding Michael for the past couple of days. Not because I was embarrassed about what happened, no. I was avoiding him because I was ashamed at how much I liked it.

“Here you go, Tay.” Alyssa handed the sheet of paper to Tay and I leaned closer trying to find my name as well.

Ileana and Alyssa Rm. 206

Sara and Tay Rm. 205

Diana Rm. 204

Michael and Darren Rm. 306

Cris and Sam Rm. 307

Mr. Holland Rm. 308

“Wow, I can’t believe Diana got to get her own room. Must be nice,” Tay noted. Unbeknownst to Tay, I was aware that her and Diana had been having a relationship behind everyone’s back for some time. That seemed to have come to an end a couple of weeks ago and at the moment, Tay was going out with Sam, however, she had decided to sit with me instead of him, so who knew.

Still, I wasn’t entirely able to care about that right now. The only thought coursing through my head involved the couple of words on that list:: Michael and Darren Rm. 306.

Shit.

Shit. Shit, Shit,

I couldn’t discern if I was excited about this particular stroke of luck or just plain dreading it.

Thirty minutes later, I hadn’t made up my mind when we arrived at our hotel. Following everyone’s lead, we unloaded the bus and took our bags up to the closest elevator while Mr. Holland passed out copies of our room keys. Since we were taking our bags with us, we divided ourselves into three elevators. Mr. Holland, Sara and Cris in one. Alyssa, Sam, and Ileana in another. Diana, Tay, Michael and me in the last one.

After finding a way to squeeze myself in the opposite corner of Michael, Diana took charge and pressed the 2nd and 3rd floor buttons. We rode in silence up to the second floor where Diana and Tay made their way down the hall to their rooms. The elevator doors closed in a silent, mechanical hiss leaving Michael and me alone for a few seconds. Almost instinctively we both leaned on the side rails opposite of each other and locked eyes. He gave me a small smile that I found myself naturally returning. Before either of us could say something, the elevator reached our floor and the doors opened again.

The sound of Cris, Sam and Mr. Holland’s elevators arriving a few seconds later kept us from speaking. Joining the others, we made our way down the hall and to our assigned rooms.

I stood in front of our room while Michael pulled out our room key. Swiping it above the sensor, I heard a small click. Michael reached forward and opened the door.

“After you, roomie,” he said with a shy smile - the first words we’d spoken in the past couple of days. I nodded and made my way inside. Without another word, I walked towards the bed furthest from the door and dropped my bags between the window and the AC. Quickly, and before Michael could say anything else, I made my way into our shared bathroom and turned the shower on. I closed the door behind me despite Michael’s gaze on my back.

I leaned against the door frame hearing the shower run and ran my hands through my hair. God, how am I going to spend two days with him?

After my shower, I wrapped a towel around my waist and gathered my courage to step out of the restroom. Luckily(?), I realized that Michael was nowhere to be seen as I walked towards my bag. I was relieved though, admittedly, disappointed as I began to dress. Just as I finished tucking my shirt in, I heard the click of our door lock and turned around to see Michael enter our shared room.

“Hey,” he said, tossing some chips into his bed. “Brought us some snacks in case you were hungry from the ride here.”

“Thanks,” I said, quickly looking down and buttoning my pants. “I’m good, though.” I could still feel his gaze on me despite not even looking at him.

“Darren, what’s going on?”

I looked up at him, a naive look on my face. “What do you mean, man? Tay shared a PB and J sandwich with me a little while ago.” That was a lie, Tay had been very adamant about not sharing her lunch, actually. I just didn’t trust myself getting anywhere near Michael.

“You haven’t spoken a word to me since … you know.”

Right, I did know. “What? Oh, that?” I fumbled with my belt while trying my best to act as nonchalant as possible. “No, I’ve just … I’ve been busy.”

“Okay,” he said, though I noticed his shoulders sag as he turned away. “I’ll shower and meet you downstairs then, I guess.” Without another word, he made his way into the restroom and closed the door behind him.

A part of me wanted to wait for him to come out of the shower, knowing full well he hadn’t taken any clothes in with him. The other part of me thought of Andrew and what I would likely want to do when Michael stepped out in only a towel. I decided it was best for me to just wait an hour downstairs for the bus to arrive and everyone else to be ready. I grabbed my camera from one of my bags and wrapped it around my neck as I made my way out of the room and down the stairs. Time on the stairs would do me good, I think.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

This time, it seemed Tay had decided to sit with Sam forcing me to sit next to Cris on the bus ride to the university’s auditorium. Regardless, Cris was a good bus partner as he told me all about the choir we were about to listen to.

“The UT choir was ranked top ten in the nation for the past four years. I’ve heard they are pretty amazing, actually.”

“Is that right?” I asked, absentmindedly drawing doodles into the notebook Mr. Holland made us bring. Actually, all I could think about at the moment was how I’d be able to manage spending as little time with Michael as I could, considering he was my roommate. Could one successfully spend two days locked inside a restroom without seeming crazy?

“Yes,” Cris said, oblivious to my romantic peril. “I saw a youtube video of their performance in Chicago and - phew - blew me away,” he said, emphasizing this with a hand gesture showing his head blow up. “The lead girl, Lucy Summers, just killed her rendition of Try a Little Tenderness.”

I nodded my agreement and kept nodding sporadically as we finally pulled up to Austin’s Hogg Memorial Auditorium.

As organized as Mr. Holland could get a group of high schoolers, we made our way up the steps into the auditorium. “Remember, guys,” he said as he showed our school credentials at the box office. “We’re here because these guys are some of the best in the nation. We’re lucky to see them right now, so do take notes. Competition is next week, so whatever we can pick up from these guys is crucial.”

We walked into the auditorium and made our way to our seats only two rows away from the stage - a perfect view. From the size, which must have been at least three times bigger than our school’s, to the expensive decor adorning the walls, to the seemingly endless rows of seats filling the space, everything about this stage was jaw dropping. I took my camera from around my neck and snapped a quick picture of the stage and its surroundings. We began to take our seats in the order we walked in when I felt my phone vibrate. What I first thought to be a text message was proved wrong as the vibrations in my pocket continued. I pulled my phone out rather discretely and saw that it was my brother, Jay, calling. “Sorry, sir,” I looked at Mr. Holland and pointed at my phone. “I need to take this, it’s family.”

Mr. Holland nodded and I took myself out of the line hurrying to the lobby where I could answer my phone freely. I passed Michael at the end of our line and his curious gaze landed on me one more time.

“Hello?” I said, curious as to why my brother was calling me.

“Darren? Yo, would your class happen to be at Hogg’s Memorial right now?”

My brother’s crisp voice was always a welcomed surprise. He’d been the one to take care of my mom and me when our dad walked out on us when I was younger. I’d looked up to him since as far back as I could remember. “Yeah, man. Why?”

I heard a click on my end of the line and realized that our call must have dropped. I was about to call him back when I felt someone’s hand on my shoulder.

“Little brother!”

I turned around to see my brother’s familiar face. As brother’s go, he and I looked almost like twins. Granted, we were a couple years apart but he and I shared the same features: sandy brown hair, doey brown eyes, fair complexion. In his case, though, it appears he had allowed a small stubble to grow, giving him an older, much sexier look. My baby face and I envied him.

“Jay? What are you doing here?” I asked, surprised to see him. Despite my brother and his partner living in Austin, I thought it was too much of a coincidence to run into him here.

“I’m actually here for date night with Alex.” He motioned to the far side of the lobby where I noticed a guy beginning to walk towards us. Alex was a good looking twenty-seven year old biology professor at the University of Austin. With his dark hair, light complexion and light brown eyes - he was a looker. He and my brother had been together for almost five years since they met back in our home town before moving up to Austin together. The thing that most impressed me about Alex, however, was what a talented singer he was. As highly as I held Michael’s singing, Alex was at a completely other level than him - it was impressive.

“Darren! You’re looking great,” Alex made his way towards us with a broad smile. “What are you doing here?”

“Thanks, Alex,” I smiled back at him, his positive demeanor instantly infectious. “I’m actually here for a school trip. We’re supposed to learn from these choir folks to help us at the competition next week.”

“Well, these guys are the best in the state so I don’t doubt that, Darren.”

I noticed Alex’s gaze shift focus to something behind me. I turned around at the sound of my name being called.

“Darren, Mr. Holland wants you to head back now. Show’s about to start.”

I nodded and turned back in time to see my brother wave hello to Michael. “Nice seeing you again, Michael.”

Against my wishes, Michael smiled and made his way over to the three of us. “Nice seeing you, too, Jay.” He shook my brother’s hand and looked over at Alex. “I’m Michael, one of Darren’s team members.”

Just as Alex extended his hand to shake Michael’s, I felt his gaze land briskly on me. “Very nice to meet you, Michael.”

Sheepishly, I looked away from Alex and pointed back to the auditorium’s entrance. “We should be heading back to our seats now, actually.”

“Yeah, that’s fine, man.” My brother rested his hand on one of my shoulders. “It’s nice seeing you, little brother.”

I shrugged his hand off in an embarrassed gesture. “Nice seeing you, too, Jay.” I looked over at Alex, “Laters,” I said as I offered him a small hug.

“Laters, Darren. Take care Michael.”

We both nodded our goodbyes and headed back inside. Walking back to where the rest of our group was, I noticed everyone had scooted one seat over, meaning the only seat left for me was at the end: the seat next to Michael.

I sat down as nonchalantly as I could despite briskly sensing Michael’s gaze on me.

“Is this seat okay?” Michael asked, leaning over to me. The smell of his cologne raised a deep longing inside me.

I coughed it away. “Yeah, it’s fine. Michael.”

My curt answer managed to dissuade him from asking anything else as well as add much needed distance between him and his cologne from me. A knot formed in my throat knowing how much of an ass I must be acting like.

Before I could ponder on this any longer, the opening choir walked onto the stage,

“Alright, guys,” Mr. Holland whispered. “Stay focused and write notes. It’s starting.”

Time flew by rather quickly and we soon found the main act, Austin’s nationally acclaimed choir, front and center.

I won’t lie, their first couple of numbers were outstanding. It seemed like the choir itself was one giant wall of sound. Their different harmonies coming together and overlapping each other like waves on a beach- it was an experience in and of itself.

Just as they finished their latest set, a petite girl of about twenty-three made her way from the center of the choir and stood center stage in front of the mic. Lucy Summers, I thought.

As the auditorium grew quiet, an orchestra of sound began to weave it’s way into a soft and haunting melody just as Lucy began to sing.

.

“I don't mind it - I don't mind at all,

It's like you're the swing set,

And I'm the kid that falls.

It's like the way we fight -

The times I've cried.

We come too close.

And every night the passion's there

So it's gotta be right.

Right?”

.

It seemed the entire auditorium held its collective breath as Lucy sang. Like a soft, heart wrenching lullaby, Lucy’s voice permeated the entire auditorium. I watched her as she rested her hands lightly on the mic stand, caressing it the way one does a vulnerable, scared baby bird.

Her eyes scanned the auditorium, almost like she was looking for someone, begging them to show themselves. It broke my heart hearing her sing with such emotion for someone who was not there.

I heard Michael take in a deep breath as he sat on the edge of his seat, completely enthralled. As much as I wanted to keep staring at him, The longing in Lucy’s voice demanded my attention and I understood then why sailors would drown at a siren’s beckoning call. Her voice asked - no, it pleaded - for me to continue to listen to her. It begged me to listen to her and to her alone.

.

“I don't mind it - I still don't mind at all.

It's like one of those bad dreams

When you can't wake up.

It looks like you've given up -

You've had enough.

But I want more.

No, I won't stop.

Because I just know you'll come around.

Right?”

.

Tears welled up in my eyes as she continued. The longing her voice expressed pierced me to the core and I turned, almost instinctively, to look at Micheal. Almost immediately, Michael sat back on his seat and looked back at me. Instead of looking away, though, I gave him a small smile.

How could I keep pretending I didn’t feel anything for the guy?

How could I continuously lie to myself so entirely and so adamantly?

I wanted him so much it felt like a deep rooted longing in my veins. Feeling a warmth on my knee, I looked down and noticed his knee grazing my own. I remembered that night last week when the same thing had happened. Such a small gesture of intimacy yet it managed to completely overwhelm me. I looked back up at Lucy as she continued to sing.

.

“No, I don't believe you.

When you say don't come around here no more,

I won't remind you

You said we wouldn't be apart.”

.

I knew deep down, my avoiding him was only a misguided gesture to hide what I really felt for him - it was a folly. He didn’t believe it anymore than I did. We had both felt something that day in his apartment. The passion was there, so it had to be right.

Right?

Slowly, his hand made its way to our shared hand rest. The warmth of his hand aggravated my desire to pull away from him. Instead, I found my pinky betraying me and reaching out cautiously for his hand. With my permission, Michael’s hand rested above mine and squeezed. That simple gesture was all it took for my defenses to dissolve. I let out a deep, betraying sigh and allowed myself to fall even more for him.

.

“No, I don't believe you

When you say you don't need me anymore.

So, don't pretend to

Not love me at all.”

.

Lucy finished her song to a roar of applause. No doubt she had made all of us relive our most haunting heartbreaks through her performance. I looked over at Michael as we all got to our feet for a standing ovation. His gaze met my own and the look we shared was enough to know neither of us believed what we had between us was over.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Our group made its way to a local restaurant for dinner before heading back to our hotel. At the hotel, I found a way to sneak away from the group hanging around in the lobby and headed upstairs to my room. I wasn’t feeling confident enough to keep up a veneer over my conflicted emotions. Just as the elevator opened up its doors to me, a hand rested itself on my bicep.

“Thanks for getting the elevator for us, Darren.”

Diana, one of Michael’s closest friends in Emanon and my old mentor, smiled at me, her bright smile and golden brown eyes always taking my breath away. She was a picture perfect, high school prom queen, reminding me of a well kept, all grown up Barbie doll. I’d envy how beautiful she was if it wasn’t for my knowing she was in love with Tay, one of my best friends who was going out with Sam at the moment. It seemed heartbreak was universal, afterall.

“Yeah,” I said, suppressing a small grin at her apparent self-assurance. “After you.” I stepped back and allowed Diana to enter the elevator first. Just as the doors closed, Diana raised her hand held purse and opened up her bag.

“Want some?” She asked, producing a small flask from within her purse’s contents.

“No, thanks,” I said, newly aware that my old mentor’s drinking wasn’t contained to our home town.

“Sure,” She twisted the top of her flask off and took a short gulp. We rode up the elevator to her floor in silence. As we reached her floor, she looked over at me. “Michael told me about the Christmas kiss on the stairs, D.”

I looked at her, mortified. “He - listen, Diana, we were both drunk and - “

“Relax,” she said, holding the elevator doors open. “I think he really likes you … and I know you really like him. That’s special. You shouldn’t spoil it.” She offered me a smile but I saw the hurt that hid behind it.

“Thanks for the advice, Di.”

As she began to walk off to her room, it was my turn to hold open the doors. “Di, listen.”

She turned around to look at me, her dress making a small twirl that would have made her look beautiful if only the emotions on her face matched.

“I - I know about you and Tay.” I don’t think she was aware of it but I saw her shoulders sag at the mention of Tay’s name. I was familiar with the pain even a name could elicit.

She didn’t try to deny it, she knew I knew. “Yeah, well, can’t really do anything about it, right? She’s going out with Sam and as long as she’s happy, I’m happy.”

The way her voice seemed to trail off at the end, I’m sure we both knew that was a lie. Still, I could relate to the pain that wanting someone who didn’t want you back brought. Too familiar, really.

“Actually, I’ll take that drink now, if you don’t mind.”

She gave me a wry smile but offered her flask over to me. I walked a few steps towards her and took a long gulp. Liquor, I realized when the liquid began burning my throat making me cringe. At that same moment, I realized she had drank hers like water.

The Barbie prom queen was more burdened than I had thought.

“Thanks, Di.”

“Good luck with your roommate, Darren.”

“Good luck to you, too,” I replied.

A small chuckle escaped her. “Yeah, thanks.”

I made my way back to the elevator and stared at Diana while she opened her room’s door. We locked eyes one last time as the elevator doors closed in front of me and she made her way into her room.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

It took only a few minutes for the liquor from Diana’s flask to hit me. I didn’t know what it was but it made my head feel light and caused a relaxing feeling to course through my body. As I sat on my bed I began to fiddle with my camera. I turned on the television when I heard footsteps stop outside my door. A small click later, the door swung open and Michael walked inside.

“Hey, D.” Michael said, giving me a small wave as he made his way inside and closed the door behind him.

“Hey, Michael,” I offered him a small smile while my eyes followed him as he kicked off his shoes and threw himself on his bed.

“We missed you and Diana downstairs, you know. We’re all getting breakfast at Denny’s tomorrow morning.”

“Oh, yeah, guess we were both tired from the bus ride over here.” I sat up a little straighter and placed my camera on the counter between our beds.

Michael laid on his side, his arm supporting his head up as he looked over at me. “Listen, are we … you know, are we good?”

“Yeah, we’re good,” I said, focusing my gaze at the family feud episode playing on the T.V. and nonchalantly raising the volume up two levels.

“Okay, see it’s hard for me to believe that when you won’t even look at me, Darren.”

I turned my head to look at him. He was still in his white button up shirt and black slacks. His tie hung loosely from his neck and on the bed as he looked over at me.

“We’re good, Michael.”

Michael sat up on the edge of the bed and leaned towards me. “Good,” he said, his grey eyes locked firmly on me. I could see them scanning my face for any hints of a lie. Not finding any, or at least, not wanting to push the subject, he began taking off his tie and unbuttoning his shirt. “I’m tired, too. I’ll probably knock off, actually.” He stood and removed his shirt and pants, leaving him only in a white muscle shirt and army green shorts.

I swallowed hard, finding myself staring at him as he got under the covers. “Yeah, me, too, then. I’m sure Mr. Holland has a full day planned for us tomorrow before we head back.” I stood and walked to the far corner of our room and pulled my shirt and pants off. Unlike him, I didn’t wear an undershirt so I put on an old, black cross country shirt over my exposed chest and pulled on some grey sweatpants. I turned back and saw him quickly look away from me. I suppressed a small smile as I walked over to my bed.

We laid on our beds in silence as family feud continued to play.

“Darren?” Michael turned to look at me again, resting his head on his pillow and burying his right hand under it.

“Yes, Michael?” I mirrored his movements and now we were both lying on our sides staring at each other.

“That song that girl sang, Lucy. Did it - were you thinking of anything during her performance?” His eyes met mine with such vulnerability that it plucked at my heart strings.

“Yeah, I was.” I answered honestly.

“Was it Andrew?” He continued to look at me and I was sure I knew what he was really asking as well as what he wanted to hear. Anything else would have probably broken his heart.

I don’t know if it was Diana’s liquor still coursing through me or a spontaneous burst of candor but I decided to continue answering honestly. “No,” I said.

“Who was it,” he asked, almost at a whisper.

I remained silent for a few seconds, still staring over at Michael. My eyes scanned his face and looking for any sign that he might be trying to trick me into saying something stupid. I couldn’t find an ounce of malice in the way he looked at me. “I think we both know who I was thinking about, man.” My voice was so quiet, I could barely hear myself speak. Still, it was at least loud enough for Michael to have heard and nod his head.

We stayed silent, each of us staring at the other, afraid either one would evaporate and leave the other alone in an empty and quiet room.

After a few more quiet seconds, Michael spoke again. “Can I join you? Just to lay down.”

He was asking for permission to lay on the bed with me but I think we both knew the real question he was asking. Can I get close to you again? Like last time?

Still, something inside me craved him the way a dehydrated man lost in a desert craves a glass of water.

“Okay,” I said.

Quietly, Michael stood from his bed and walked over to mine, his pillow held firmly between his arms. I scooted over and allowed him access to the left side of my bed. He laid on his side, resting his right arm under his pillow, and locked eyes with me again. I caught my breath as I felt the fabric of my sweatpants touch his bare knee. Still, neither of us moved away.

We remained silent, cautiously staring at one another through the light that only our T.V. now offered.

I became aware that our breaths began to sync up the longer we laid there. We were so close to each other, I could smell the peppermint gum he had been chewing earlier and the scent was sending chills through my body. I found myself lost in Michael’s face, trying to graft every one of his features into my mind, afraid I might forget them in the light of day.

The passion’s there so it’s got to be right. Right?

Lucy’s song from earlier played through my head and I lost myself in the memory of the song as easily as I lost myself in Michael’s gaze.

Don’t pretend to not love me at all.

That’s all I was doing, after all. Wasn’t it? Wasn’t I just pretending I didn’t care for Michael the way I pretended not to like arbitrary things like asparagus or The Notebook?

As I pondered this, I found myself leaning closer to Michael, before I could overthink it, I closed the gap between us and kissed him. To his credit, Michael didn’t skip a beat and wrapped his free arm around me, pulling me closer to him. Almost instinctively, he rolled over and laid on top of me, our lips never pulling apart.

.

Rule number one is that you gotta have fun.

But baby when you're done you gotta be the first to run.

.

Feeling Michael’s warm body over my own sent intoxicating shivers up my spine, even as we continued to kiss. I reached around and traced my hand under his muscle shirt, feeling every ripple of his back muscles along the way. His hand reached down to the hem of my shirt, the warmth of it sent another fresh wave of shivers coursing through my body.

Our tongues continued to explore each other’s mouths while our hands continued to grope each other’s bodies.

Michael’s hands running down the arch of my back elicited a gasp from me and, in one move, I flipped us both over, ensuring that Michael was now the one laying under me. I pulled away from his kiss and sat up. In one quick move, I removed my black cross country shirt and tossed it to the opposite side of the room. Like clockwork, Michael pulled off his muscle shirt and let it fall off the side of the bed.

I leaned back down and began kissing his neck. God, I found just smelling his bare skin intoxicating. I began tracing circles around his neck with my tongue and was rewarded with a deep moan emanating from Michael.

.

Rule number two - just don't get attached to

Somebody you could lose.

So, let me tell you.

.

Michael’s hands continued to grope my body, starting from my chest and tracing its way down to my midriff. The feeling of his hand so close to such a private part of me made me moan, too. Michael chuckled and continued tracing his hands down into my sweatpants. The feeling of his hands on my dick, separated only by the thin fabric of my boxers was too much for me.

Without even thinking it, I found myself taken over by lust and biting down on Michael’s shoulder. The sound he made at my bite rivaled the euphoric groan I did as his hand made contact with my bare dick. Before I could even process it, Michael flipped us over again and laid on top of me.

“Darren,” he said as he looked down on me. “I want to fuck you.” His gaze locked on mine as he continued, “Can I?”

“Yes.” I was surprised at my own abruptness. “I want you to, Michael.”

In an instant, Michael hooped his fingers around my sweatpants and boxers, pulling them both off in one gesture. So there I laid, completely naked and exposed in front of one of the hottest seniors in our school. Before I could process any sort of embarrassment, Michael hopped off the bed and pulled off his own tented green shorts and exposed himself to me.

.

Rule number three, wear your heart on your cheek.

But never on your sleeve, unless you wanna taste defeat.

.

Standing naked in front of me, I realized I had never seen a more erotic sight. The small line of fuzz that started at his belly button made its way down to a close and neatly trimmed bush above his erect dick. I continued to stare at Michael’s nakedness even as he reached over to his bag and pulled out a bottle of lube.

“Were you planning on fucking all along on this trip, Michael?” I asked, curious as to why he brought a bottle of lube up to Austin. More curious, still, at how hard his dick looked bouncing up and down as he moved.

“No,” he said, an embarrassed smile forming along his face. “I was actually planning on spending the next two night just using this bottle up on my own.”

It was my turn to smile. “Well, I’m glad to see that won’t be the case, then.”

Michael’s face grew into a real smile, now. “So am I, Darren.”

As I continued to look at him, Michael poured a large drop of lube on his erect dick and began to stroke it. I couldn’t pull my gaze away from him as he did this. Fuck, it was actually making my own cock throb with every stroke.

.

Rule number four, gotta be looking pure.

Kiss him goodbye at the door, and leave him wanting more, more.

.

Noticing my dick throb, Michael looked at me and shot me another smile. For weeks I had convinced myself that despite our short make-out session back in December, I could handle my feelings towards Michael. As he wrapped his hand around my hard shaft, that brittle lie snapped in half. Now, as Michael began stroking me, I wondered how I could have held it together for so long.

“Turn around,” he whispered, regrettably removing his hand from my dangerously hard cock.

I looked into his eyes, so grey they seemed to be made of smoke. They seemed to be greyer now, as they enticed me to turn around and exposed myself even more to him.

I felt the head of his dick line up to my bare ass and begin to push. As he entered me, I felt my body stretch open to adjust for his girth. I bit my lip as he continued pushing and let out a deep groan when he finally buried himself inside me. What started off as an uncomfortable penetration grew to be a surprisingly pleasurable pain. Michael let his body rest on my back as he continued to thrust inside me.

I felt his hot breath near my ear before feeling his tongue begin to lick my earlobe.

Jesus, I was in heaven.

.

How to be a heartbreaker.

Boys, they like the look of danger.

We'll get him falling for a stranger,

A player, singing I lo-lo-lo-love you.

.

“God, Darren, you’re so fucking tight,” he moaned.

I couldn’t reply, my mind kept being assaulted with waves of pleasure with every deep stroke Michael offered.

“Here,” he said, after some time. “Turn around, D. I want to look at you.”

Wordlessly, I let him pull out of me and laid atop my bed on my back. After placing my feet on his shoulders, he nudged my ass and slid in easily this time, filling me so completely I arched my back in pleasure.

“You look … you look beautiful, Darren,” he said, never breaking eye contact.

My own eyes took him in, the senior who had miraculously taken an interest in me. The guy who made me ache for him at the mere mention of his name and whose hands felt as familiar on my body as my own, whose cock was buried so deep inside me I was unsure where I ended and he began.

.

Girls, we do whatever it will take.

'Cause girls don't want - we don't want our hearts to break in two.

So it's better to be fake - can't risk losing

In love again, babe.

.

“Look at you, Michael.” I smiled, feeling his member throb inside me. “I mean, it, like, hurts to look at you.” And yes, I hoped the double entendre wasn’t lost to him.

He laughed, but the truth was he was beautiful in a way that made me ache - lean muscles gifted by youth, smokey grey eyes that seemed to be fed by the heat of his sexuality. His gaze moved over to the small counter in between our beds. Reaching over, he pulled my camera to him.

I stared at him as he turned the camera on, pointed it at me, and snapped a picture.

“Look,” he said and turned the camera over so I could see. “You look so fucking hot, Darren.”

I stared at myself laying on my back, shirtless and exposed. Despite how vulnerable I could have seemed, my body, tight and lean from years of cross-country and basketball, glistened with a layer of sweat that made me look incredibly attractive. Although not pictured, knowing that a few inches down was my own rock hard cock and further down was Michael’s own buried to the hilt inside me, filled me with lust.

I gave Michael a cocky smile and took the camera from his hand. I centered him in a way that only showed his top half and snapped a shot. He, too, looked like a demigod in his prime. Michael looked pleased with himself after I showed him what he looked like from my point of view..

“Keep them,” he said, wrapping my camera’s strap around his neck. “So there’s something to remind us of this moment.”

Seeing my camera dangling from Michael’s naked neck sent me over the edge. I grabbed the strap and pulled him down to my lips. We continued to kiss as Michael returned to thrusting his cock inside me.

.

How to be a heartbreaker.

Boys, they like the look of danger.

We'll get him falling for a stranger,

A player, singing I lo-lo-lo-love you.

.

He grabbed one of my ankles and plunged inside me once more.

“Fuck! Michael,” I groaned, sucking in a sharp breath.

“Damn, Darren.” He bit my calf as he plunged inside me, deeper and harder this time.

“Harder,” I cried, grabbing his ass and burying my fingers.

Michael slammed into my, understanding how much my body craved him.

I felt a tightness behind my balls and knew I was getting close

“Faster,” I moaned out as my hands reached out to grab the sheets of my bed for support.

Michael responded with a low growl, the sexiest sound I’d ever heard, as he pounded me faster and faster.

“Micheal,” I whimpered, biting my lips as one of his thrusts finally pushed me over the edge. I closed my eyes and gripped the sheets as wave after wave of my orgasm crashed over me.

“Darren, oh, shit!” Michael groaned and pulled out of me as shot after shot of his warm cum was released and landed all over my chest.

.

Cause I lo-lo-lo-love you.

At least I think I do.

.

Michael collapsed onto my chest in a boneless heap of his former self. He kissed the top of my head and rolled on his back lying next to me.

I realized, minutes after laying in silence with him next to me, that I had never felt so satisfied before, so cared for, so safe.

“Was that as good for you as it was for me?” Michael chuckled.

I laughed, too, but didn’t say anything. What was there to say? This had been the strongest orgasm I had ever had. Hell, it sure beat the time I lost my V card with my sophomore girlfriend last year. It knocked all my previous times out of the park.

Instead, I simply nodded like an over excited boy at a toy store being asked if he wanted anything.

Only until after did the thought of Andrew cross my mind.
