Chapter 1
"Faggot"
There it was again. Since I came out, my life had become a living hell. I don't even know if coming out really was my idea at all. I gave the guy the finger and walked away, what else could I do? It's a straight man's world out there. I can't believe that people would punish me for something that I wasn't responsible for, if I ever do meet God, he'll be screwed.
Walking home, I realized how much had changed in these 5 days since...since everyone knew. The only thing that didn't change was, me. My Dad is still waiting for the "phase" to get over and my mom? Well, she's still wondering what does all this actually mean. So why did I come out again? Oh right, peace of mind, didn't look like it was working. Only one of my guy friends is actually 'brave' enough to still talk to me, and not be obscene. Bryan always was a great friend, a friend in need, and if this isn't need I don't know what is.
Sorry, should've introduced myself. Me? I'm Joey, your friendly neighborhood queer. I'm an average 17-year-old gay guy, facing the average gay bullshit, in the average gay life. And I'm already sick of it. Why does anybody care, or should care about who I bed? Who I care to love and whom I think about. It Isn't like I kick straight guys I meet, but now; maybe I should, and see how they like it. I didn't notice how fast I reached my house. I opened the door and went straight to my room. It was not my day and I didn't have the guts to face the rest of it, so I thought, better sleep through it.
"Joey! Get up, Bryan's here." My sister Susan called from downstairs, waking me up from a dream. She's the only one who didn't actually make a fuss about me. We're twins, but I still call her my little sis, on account of the 17 seconds between our births.
"I'm coming, I'm coming alright!" I yelled still trying to get up. I called Bryan up to my room and got into the bathroom for a much needed shower. I changed and got out. Bryan doesn't exactly visit me too often well not since, the day. He looked so pleasant today that he actually scared me.
"Hey Bryan, so what brings the heterosexual to the gay side of town?"
"Stop it! See, you're the one who always brings it up."
"Alright, so why are you here? Wait, I'm not forgetting any due assignments, am I?"
"No! I actually wanted to go out with you."
"Aww Bryan, you little love puppy."
"Quit it! You know that's not what I meant. I've got an extra ticket to Spiderman. So? Wanna come?"
"Comic geek!" I whispered just loud enough for him to hear it.
"Fine, if you don't want to...."
"Bryan, come on. You know I was kidding. Come on lets go."
I lifted him off my bed and headed for the door to go out when my mom opened it and saw me holding Bryan. When I got over my initial shock, I let go of Bryan and said something about going to the movies and left my mom in her own confusion. God knows what she was thinking but it eventually did get me thinking too.
Bryan was nothing what a comic geek should look like. He was cute, funny, extroverted and yet, somehow bashful, unlike anyone I've known he was actually built...muscles and all, come to think of it I wouldn't mind dating him well, but I don't think Samantha Williams would've let me live me if she knew. Bryan and Samantha have something cooking and honestly, it couldn't have happened to a better girl, if "it" was happening to her.
"So is Samantha joining us?" I asked.
"Sam? Nah, she's too busy with some science project."
"Nerds of a feather..." I started when Bryan punched me on my arm.
"Better behave mister, she's not as boring as she seems you know."
"And I'm Pamela Anderson."
"Hi Pam."
"Damn you, Bryan...Hey! Come on, I don't wanna miss the movie." I said and we ran into the theater.
The movie was actually very good. And Toby McGuire was absolutely, wow. We started walking home when Bryan stopped and turned around and giggled and we started walking again. I tried turning too, but he stopped me and told me to keep moving. I asked him what was up and what he said, made me almost fall down.
"There's a guy following us, I think he has a crush on you."
"What?" I almost turned back again.
"He's actually the guy who gave me the tickets, he's some Josh. He wants to meet you."
"What? Don't fool around with me Bryan, I'm gonna..."
"Are you sure you don't want me 'fooling around' with you?"
"Bryan...!"
"I'm serious," he said cutting me off, "He said he knew you in your last school but lost touch or something."
"Last school? That's ancient history man. How am I supposed to remember him?"
"Ok, here's me" he said pointing to his house, "watch out, he's gonna move in for a kill."
"Bryan wait!" I shouted as he crossed the street, gave me a wink, giggled and went inside.
I started walking again. He was right, I heard footsteps following me, expecting the worst I quickened my pace. I almost thought Bryan was kidding when the guy came up and tapped my shoulder. I quickly turned around and looked at the god in front of me. He was abso-damn-lutely gorgeous. Around 22, built and came equipped with, what I think they call, a million dollar smile. He offered his hand and smiled again.
"Hi! I'm...I'm Josh."
"Umm yeah, Bryan told me. But I'm sorry I don't remember any Josh from my last school."
"That's probably because I wasn't in it."
"But Bryan said that you were..."
"Yeah, only way I could get him to make you to meet me. He's very protective of you, I can tell. Is he your..."
"Boyfriend? No, my love-life is dead for the moment."
"Thank god, I mean not that your love life is...I meant for me...for us. I mean...damn"
"I think I get what you want to say."
"I hope so." There was a long pause before he said anything, "You wanna go out...umm, for coffee sometimes?"
"That would be good...when?" I couldn't believe that I could be so calm in front of him.
"How about tomorrow. I'll pick you up from college...is that ok with you?"
"Sure, tomorrow. How do you know me anyway?"
"Let's just leave that conversation for coffee tomorrow. We have to talk about something over coffee...plus, I love to leave people hanging."
So? That's all for chapter 1, send me some feedback. And remember I will not post the chapters as fast as the first story as this one is still under construction.
