First of all, I would really like to apologize for not posting this chapter sooner, but when I read what I had written, I found that it was of so low quality that I really didn't want to post it. I want perfection. I hereby don't say that this chapter is perfect, but it is the version of the them all, so I will post it anyway. Second of all, I would really like to say thank you to a very good friend of mine. He has been there for me through my good times, but most of all, he has supported me when I really needed it. So Aussieboy (John) from Melbourne, Thank You! And yes John, I am still in "yellow alert".

I was still coughing and had problems breathing, but after a few minutes I was breathing normally. Kevin and Kristin was yelling at Nick. When they saw that I was okay they shifted their attention to me and started to apologize. I just told them that it wasn't necessary.

"Sebastian?"

Nick wanted my attention again.

"What?"

"You didn't answer me. Are you gay?

Chapter Three

Kristin and Kevin started to yell at Nick again, but neither him or I took any notice of them. We just sat there and stared at each other. This went on for about two minutes. The others finally calmed down and sat still in their seats just looking at the two of us. Nick was the one who broke the silence.

"Well?" was all he said

Now I knew who was with Kristin in the bedroom last night. It was Nick! Last night he was furious about the way my family treated me. Nick obviously wasn't bothered with the fact that I was gay. But why did he ask me then? Was this some lame attempt to out me to the rest of the group? I decided there and then that honesty was the right thing here. If they didn't like me because I'm gay then so be it. I would give them some money to cover the expenses for the breakfast and the hotel room and then leave. But I wasn't about to let Nick get away with outing me in front of the rest without me having some fun. I took I sip on my OJ and looked Nick straight in the eyes and said:

"You need a boyfriend or something?"

It took a couple of seconds before he realized what I asked him. I could see a slight smile on his face. He had the cutest smile. I could also see a slight twinkle in his eyes. Suddenly his eyes lit up. I am dead sure that if you look really close, you would actually see the proverbial light bulb go on above his head. He had come up with an idea and I was really gonna get it now.

"Bastian actually, I do need a boyfriend. What do you say? You think that the two of us could hitch up?"

I could hear the rest gasp at this small revelation. Obviously they hadn't seen the same gleam in Nick's eyes. I knew what Nick was up too. He was trying to get some reactions from Kristin and the guys.

"Nick, you never told us that you are gay." AJ said.

"Why would I? It's none of your business who I decide to date and right now I have my eyes set on Bastian. I mean, just look at him. He's so hot."

With that Nick stood up and walked over to me. I pulled out the chair and turned so that I could see him. Nick took the opportunity and straddled me, facing me. He looked me in the eyes and then started to talk again.

"And you gotta see his eyes. The have the color of the ocean. I could loose myself in them. And his lips......Man, they are just so kissable."

Another gasp could be heard from the room, but this time it was only one person who gasped. The rest of them sat there just staring at Nick and me. I could see Nick leaning in closer to me, and I my mind started go in to overdrive...

Don't kiss me. Don't kiss me. Don't kiss me.

He leaned closer and closer and I could actually feel his breath in my face. At the same time I could feel him run his hands over my chest. This was not good. I was a man after all, a gay man to that. And having a good-looking young man in your lap, about to kiss you when at the same time running his hands over your body, was starting to effect me. My breath was becoming a little bit more shallow and my blood was rushing towards the midsection of my body. Nick brushed his lips against mine and a slight shudder spread throughout my body. Just as he was about to lean in closer, he gave me a wink and the turned his head towards the others. I could actually feel his laugh in my body before it could be heard. When I felt that I looked at the faces on the others. There was surprise and shock written all over them, and I couldn't help myself. Both Nick and I started to laugh and it took about a minute for them to realize that Nick had fooled them. I could hear promises of bodily harm directed at both Nick and me, but we just couldn't stop laughing. The rest of them soon followed. Nick actually laughed so hard that he fell of my lap and landed on the floor.

When we all had quieted down I started to ask them about being in the Backstreet Boys. What is was like to be on the road for the most part of the year, the recording process of a new album and other stuff related to their job. They asked me about my job, but there wasn't really much about it that I hadn't told the yesterday anyway. During this conversation I found out that they was in town for another week, just finishing up the material they had recorded earlier.

"Okay, since you are supposed to be here in the area a couple of more days, why don't come up to my place for a BBQ? I mean, you gotta have some day off? And that way I could repay you for the beers last night and pay for my breakfast and the use of one your beds bed."

They started to among themselves for just a minute, then we quickly agreed that they would drive up to my place tomorrow. I wrote down the instructions of how to get to my place on a piece of the hotels stationary. I gave it Kristin since I was sure that she wouldn't forget the instructions tomorrow.

"Well guys, I really need to go. I have to be at work in a couple of hours. It's been really nice meeting you. I will see you tomorrow?"

They all said their good-byes and I got my car keys back from Howie. I exited the hotel and saw a bunch of teenage girls stand just outside the entrance, trying to get a look of their idols. The drive back to Napa wasn't that eventful. I spent the entire journey thinking about the guys and Kristin. How did she fit into the picture? I kinda understood that she was someone's girlfriend, but who's?.

"MacKenzie, can you come in here for a moment?"

I walked into the captains office and stood in front of his desk waiting for the captain to start talking.

"Do you think that you could work a few hours in the morning? I'm leaving for New York in the morning and Williams has just called in sick. You are the only one that take that shift. It would only be until about noon or one o'clock the latest. Jamieson has already agreed to start his shift earlier."

"Sir, I really would like to, but I have guests coming over tomorrow and..."

"You know that I wouldn't ask you if it wasn't an emergency. Do you think that you could ask your guest come a little later?"

I though about that for a short while then agreed that I could work until noon.

"But I really have to go by noon sir."

"Ok, I'll call Jamieson and tell him to be here by noon the latest. Thanks MacKenzie."

"Ok sir. Have a nice day."

"You too MacKenzie."

I went in to the locker room to get my things. The day was finally over and I really wanted to get home and take a shower. Then I really needed to clean the house a little. I mean, it's not every day that you get superstars as guests. When I finally got home I called Mrs. Atherton.

"Hi Mrs. Atherton. How are you?"

"Yes Mrs. Atherton, I had fun yesterday. I went to a bar in San Francisco and took a couple of beers. Met a couple of people."

I stood there listening to her going on and on about me, my love life, the grapes, alcohol levels, cars and her roses. When I got a chance I started to talk again:

"Mrs. Atherton, I was wondering if you could to me a favor. You see I'm having some guests over tomorrow for a BBQ and I have to work an extra shift in the morning. And I have no way of getting hold of them to tell them to come by later. Do you think that you could come over here and let them in?"

"You could? That's nice of you Mrs. Atherton. And no, there is no reason to stay here with them. Just let them in and tell them that I will be back around one."

"Ok...I'll talk to you soon Mrs. Atherton. And I'll try to swing by sometime next week."

The rest of the evening I tried to clean up the house. Ok, it wasn't a big house, but I wanted it to look the best when they arrived tomorrow. I had no idea why but I felt like this might be the start of a great friendship. When I was satisfied that the house looked good I went over to the freezer and pulled out some steaks to let the thaw slowly in the fridge over night. I made sure that there was enough to drink, beer, sodas and some wine. When all this was done I grabbed a beer, turned the lights off in the house and then went into my bedroom. I got undressed, grabbed the bottle of beer and slowly made my way to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and waited for a few moments to let the water get the right temperature. While I was waiting for the shower I looked at my own reflection in the bathroom mirror. I wasn't that bad looking: 6'2, 184lbs, blond with blue eyes. I was pretty fit. I had to be, being a cop and all. All the competing in Practical Shooting, had rewarded me with a solid body. My muscles was big, but not overly so. It didn't take that long for the shower to warm up so I soon stepped into it. I took a long hot shower, letting all the tension in my body wash away. Feeling somewhat refreshed again, I decided to check my mail before I went to bed. After getting another beer from the kitchen I went to the room I used as a study/guestroom, booted up the computer and started to check my emails. I got a few from a couple of friends and also one from my grandmother. I gave her a laptop last Christmas since we usually talk on the phone at least a couple of times every week. I started to worry about her phone bill, so I taught her how to send an email. That we she could keep in contact with my every day, but we still talked on the phone once a week. I quickly read the other emails and replied and then I opened up the mail from my grandmother.

Hi Seb!

I am so happy today. Your parents were here today and we talked about you. It seems like they wants to meet you. Maybe you should try to talk to them. Both you and your mother needs some happiness in your lives. Btw have you found a nice boyfriend yet? If not then I might have the right one. You that old bitch Mrs. Jacobson down the street? Well it turns out that she has a grandson the same age as you. He is a lawyer in Los Angeles and he is pretty good looking if you ask me :) So if you want I could ask her for his phone number. Please think about what I said about your parents. Contact them Seb. We'll talk on Wednesday. Be safe out there.

Grandma Sarah

I sat there looking at the mail for a couple of minutes before replying her

Hi Grandma!

It is nice to hear that you are happy. No, I haven't found a boyfriend yet, but when I do, you'll be the first one to know. And please, don't try to set me up on another blind date. You know what happened on the last one :) And about the other thing. I don't want to talk to them. I can't take another let down like that again. He said he hated me and that I wasn't his son. He has made his opinion quite clear. He don't love me anymore. That's it. I really need to get to bed now. I have to work tomorrow morning and then I'm gonna have a BBQ with some new friends, and no they are not cops. Talk to you later Grandma. Be safe

I shut down the mail program and started the browser. I'm having superstars as guests tomorrow and I hardly know anything about them. So I was going to browse some sites to see what information I could find out about them. I started with the obvious one, the official site, then I looked up other sites on the Net. On one of them I found something that I didn't really wanted to know. It was a huge picture of Kevin and Kristin kissing. Quite passionate by the looks of it. The text on the site said that Kevin and Kristin was engaged to be married. Oh well, that's life. When I finally found a guy that I really liked it turns out that he is straight. My usual luck. I shut down my internet connection and then the computer. Turned off the light on the desk and went to bed. I laid there for about five minutes thinking, before I went to sleep.

"So what do you guys wanna do today?"

"I don't know Kevin. I think I'm just gonna stay here at the hotel today." Nick replied.

"Yeah me too!"

"I think that I'm gonna hang here Nick and AJ today." Came from Howie.

Kevin turned to Brian and Kristin waiting for their answers.

"What are you gonna do today cuz?"

"I don't know. I was thinking that I maybe go to the mall or something. I really need to buy some new clothes."

That comment brought out a collective sigh from the others.

"What? I haven't bought clothes for like two weeks!" Kevin whined.

"Kevin, honey, you really don't need new clothes." Kristin looked at him, waiting for him to accept the fact that he was a shop-a-holic when it came to clothes.

Seeing that the realization probably wasn't coming today, she sighed and gave in.

"Okay, I'll go with you. Brian, wanna come?"

"Sure, it's not like I have anything else to do."

The three of the made it down to the hotel garage and got in the car. Since the were in San Francisco, Kevin had insisted that he would drive from Los Angeles, just so that they would have access to a car if they wanted to get around in San Francisco. They made some small talk while driving to the nearest mall. They spent the rest of the day at the mall, going in and out of shops. When they returned to the hotel, they each had bags from various stores. They had even bought some things to the rest of the guys. All of them decided that they were going to spend the night at the hotel, ordering room service and watching movies. They didn't feel like going out tonight. Some of them mainly because they didn't want to show up at Bastian's house with a hang-over and the rest just because they were sleepy. Brian soon said that he was tired and was going to bed. Nick followed a couple of minutes later. The next person to leave was AJ and that left Kevin, Kristin and Howie alone to watch the rest of the movie. When it finally ended Howie said his goodnights and went to bed. Kevin stood up and stretched. You could hear his joints pop. All this lying around wasn't good.

"You want something to drink, babe?"

Kristin just shakes her head no, totally engrossed in some talk show on TV. He heads over to the minibar and grabs a bottle of water. He walks over to the balcony doors, watching the lights from the city. He could see the traffic on the Golden Gate, the boats in the harbor and the planes landing or taking from a nearby airport. Very soon he felt a pair of arms wrapping themselves around his waist.

"Kevin sweetie, what are you thinking about?"

He just stands there for a minute before answering her.

"Nothing...everything..."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"Not really. I just need some time to think things over."

"Things like Bastian?"

Kevin turned around so that he faced Kristin. He slowly pushed a strand of hair out of her face. He let his hand gently caress her cheek and then traced the outline of her lips.

"God you're so beautiful Kristin. Don't ever leave me."

"I won't Kevin. Never"

Kevin bent slightly and let his lips touch Kristin's. Pulling back a little he said:

"I love you."

Nick laid in his bed twisting and turning. He couldn't get to sleep. He mind was busy trying to comprehend what had happened that morning. He almost kissed a man. He almost kissed Bastian. Bastian liked it. Nick could feel Bastian getting hard. What he didn't show the others though is that he was effected the same way. 'What the hell was going on? I don't like men. I'm not gay' These thoughts went through his brain over and over again. Finally even Nick fell to sleep.

"Come on, Kristin! Left or right? It can't be that hard."

"Ok, turn left here."

Kevin looked at the piece of paper she held in her hand then up to her face.

"Are you sure about that?"

"Yeah, I'm sure."

"Ok, whatever you say."

They woke up early that morning, grabbed some breakfast and the headed down to the car. The drive to Napa wasn't that hard, but once they got there, the navigation problem started. They had driven around for an hour before they realized that they held the map upside down. This of course left Kristin and Kevin open for jokes about their abilities to navigate. When they turned the map the right way up, it didn't take them long to find their way. They were now standing at a crossroad trying to decide witch way to go. Kevin was positive that they should turn right, but Kristin didn't share his opinion. Kevin started to drive again, turning left. Kristin tried to get the attention of the rest of the boys.

"Ok, we should be able to see a small house on the right. That is his house. If we should pass it by any chance, just let us know."

"Sure thing, boss." AJ replied.

Kristin looked at AJ and said.

"Boss? Hmm......I like that! Yeah boss...that's me."

The boys just chuckled and then turned their attention back to whatever they were doing before Kristin started to talk to them. It wasn't long before they could feel the car slowing down and turn into a small driveway. It lead to a small white house. The house looked like it belonged in southern France and not in California. They could see a pick-up parked outside house on the driveway and Kevin parked his BMW behind it. Once all of them was out of the car, the front door opened and a small woman walked out. She walked towards them and when she reached them she stretched out her hand to Kevin.

"Hi there! You must be Sebastian's friends. I'm Mrs. Atherton. I own the wine yard down the road."

Kevin took her outstretched hand and introduced himself and the rest of the gang.

"I am just here to let you in. It seems like Sebastian had to work an early shift today, but he should be back in thirty minutes or so. Well, the door is open, so there is nothing more I can do around here. You all have a nice day today."

With that she left them standing there on the driveway outside the house. She climbed in to her pick-up and drove away. They gang stood there looking at each other, not really knowing what to do. Nick was the first one to enter the house. They all stepped inside and found themselves in a small hallway. Immediately to their left they had a small kitchen. On the small table in the kitchen was a note addressed to all of them. Brian was the first one to notice it. He picked it up and read it quietly for himself. After he was finished he walked in to the living room where he could find the rest of them. He told them that Bastian had written them a note explaining that he would be home around 12:30 pm. He also wrote that they should feel like home. That meant that they could go raid the fridge or use the computer or even use the hot tub on the patio.

"Well, I know what I am going to do. I'm going out in the kitchen to see if I can get started on the food for the BBQ." Kristin said turning her back to them and marched out into the kitchen where she started to rummage around in the fridge to see what she could find. AJ, Howie and Kevin grabbed some places in the sofa and started to watch the TV. And Brian and Nick started to snoop around in the house. Nick soon found the computer and he booted it up. As soon as the boot up sequence was finished he logged on to the Internet to check his mail. Brian started to check out the books Bastian had on the shelves in the study. There was mostly books on the subject of psychology, criminology, ballistics and handguns. There was a few fiction books. There was a wide range of authors represented from William Shakespeare to Stephen King, Kafka to Tom Clancy. Suddenly Brian hear Nick call his name. He walks over to where Nick sits by the computer.

"What is it Nick?"

"I think that Bastian has been checking up on us. Look what I found in his history file."

Brian watched the monitor and could see one of the thousands of fan-sites about them. It did indeed look like Bastian had done some background checks on them. The particular site was about Kevin and focused mostly on Kristin and Kevin's engagement.

"Hey Nick, can I use the computer for a while? I really need to check my mail. Haven't done that in like a week."

"Sure thing B. I was finished anyway."

Nick stood up and Brian slipped into the chair and stared the process of receiving his mail from the server. Nick did just what Brian had done minutes before. He started checking out the books, but he soon lost interest in this and left the room. He found his way into Bastian's bedroom. It was a sparsely furnished room. There was a king size bed and a couple of night stands on either side of the bed. A comfortable looking chair in one corner with a small table beside it. There was also a dresser standing next to what looked like closets along one of the walls. A door lead into what Nick guessed had to be a bathroom. Nick walked over to the bed and laid down on his back.

"Man, this is one comfortable bed. If I had one like this, I would never get bed in the morning."

Nick turned his head left and spotted the night stand next to bed. 'I wonder what he has in his drawers' Nick thought. He sat up and pulled out the drawer. There was some papers, some lube and a small wooden box.

"I wonder what this could be."

Nick took the box out of the drawer and put in on top of the night stand. He looked on the box foe a while, debating if he really should open it, but his curiosity got the upper hand. He lifted the lid and looked inside the box. His eyes fell on a black object. He picked it up. It felt cold and heavy. Nick knew that he wasn't supposed to touch it but he just couldn't help himself.

'Wait until I show this to Brian!' he thought.

I was almost home. Even I only worked a few hours, I was totally drained. What I really needed now, was a long hot shower, but that had to wait. I was hosting a BBQ this afternoon. A small smile spread across my face. I was going to have some this afternoon. Talking with some new people. Maybe give them some time off to remember. I mean, how often do they actually get some quality time off? It couldn't be easy with their schedule. I just hope that they will like it too. I turned into my drive way and saw Kevin's BMW standing there. I parked my pick-up next to his car and got up. I took the grocery bags from the cabin and headed towards the front door. I was nearly their when I heard a loud sound come from the house. There was no way that I could misinterpret that sound. A gun had just been fired inside my house. I quickly put the grocery bags on the ground and pulled my own weapon. I cocked the gun and advanced with caution. I opened the front door, but there was no sounds coming from inside. What the hell just happened here? I walked through the door and looked over my shoulder into the kitchen, still with my gun raised. It looked ok. Nothing that really was out of place. Just some food on the counter, but nothing else. I continued towards the living room but stopped a few feet outside the room. Something had just caught my eye. There on the floor was body. Still cautious about my surroundings, I started to walk towards the living room again. More of the body became visible and soon the whole body was in plain sight. The body belonged to Kevin...

Ok...I just had to do it. I really felt the need to end this chapter here. A story of class really need to have one or two cliffhangers. I can't promise you that it never will happen again, but I have a feeling that it will. All comments, good or bad, or suggestions and ideas should be sent to me. After all, I am the author and I really need your input. So once again, here is my address: lunajulian@hotmail.com
