Part 1:

"Colton, what are you doing here?" I was completely shocked, without words, and in disbelief of the human standing in front of me. So many questions were racing through my head, but none of them could even stand to reason with what was said nextÉ.

It all started in the summer of my Sophomore year of high school. On the last week of school, we were able to take a trip to Six Flags for physics day. My friends and I had already planned out the whole day. There were four of us so the perfect number to ride all the rides with a partner and no one would have to sit alone or with a stranger. We took the long bus ride up to Dallas which was around 3 hours away. After a rather uneventful bus ride, we made it to Six Flags.

Our teacher gave the usual speech of don't get lost, don't get taken, and try not to die. Once we were finally let loose, we made our way into the park to get our maps, so we knew exactly which spots we wanted to hit. While looking at the map I felt a tap on my shoulder, thinking it was my friend I said, "Kason you can look in a second." The tapping continued, getting rather annoyed I turned and said, "I said you can look in a second!" However, it was not Kason who was trying to get my attention, it was Colton Wells a Junior who was a god among men. Okay maybe not but to me he was. Standing at 6'4 with a body that would make anybody turn and take another look. Chiseled facial features including a jawline that could cut steel. AND crystal blue eyes that could melt butter, just picture the clearest blue sky and that captures only a fraction of how beautiful his eyes are. While we're on the subject, his hands are also perfect, big and strong but also soft? Don't ask how I know that.

Okay fine I brushed up against him once in the hallway and took note of some things Okay? It's not creepy.

"Oh, hey Colton, I'm sorry I didn't realize that it was you. What's Up?"

"So umm, my friend's kind of ditched me and ran off to the back of the park, is there any way I can hang out with yall?" he asked. I was caught between a rock and a hard place. I am a planner; I like things a certain way and this would make all of our plans null and void. Plus, he is way too cute, I've literally had a crush on him for like 2 whole years nowÉ. but on the other hand, he is impossibly cute, and I can't say no to himÉ

"Sure, we'd love to have you..." Not knowing exactly what I signed up for. The rest of the day went on without any major things happening. We just rode rides and got to know each other better. I did not realize this, but Colton and I actually played little league together and my dad coached him in football in middle school. This was news to me as he was just the guy I drooled over from far away. He told me about his dog and his truck and his girlfriendÉ...Yes, Girlfriend. Did I forget to mention that he's straight? This is obviously just a crush that will never turn into anything, so I need not to think anything about itÉ

After riding several roller coasters we stopped for lunch at one of the food courts inside the park, it was reasonably hot that day, so we were all down for some much-needed A/C. Once inside we got into line, as we were all looking at the menu Colton lightly grabbed my arm and said, "hey what do you want I'm paying."

"No, you don't have to do that."

"Umm yes I do, you were kind enough to let me tag along with y'all so it's the least I can do."

"Well sorry, but I hate when people buy me things and I was just being nice is all."

"I don't take no for an answer, on anything." And then he winked at me, HE WINKED AT ME. At this point I was putty in his hand. "Okay, okay, fine. Whatever you say." I answered. After I ordered and got my drink from the fountain, I found a table big enough to fit the 5 of us. Shortly after I sat down, Colton joined me, and of all the open seats he sat right next to me. Don't think I didn't notice the fact that not only did he not let me pay for my food, He also did not pay for the others in our groupÉwhy just me?

"So you have a boyfriend?" I spat out my drink all over the table, which caused Colton to laugh so hard I thought he might break a rib. I quickly cleaned up the table. Being that we were the only ones at the table I punched him in the arm and said, "I. um. I'm not gayÉ"

"Oh please, the whole school knows, it's not like it's a secret."

He had a point. I didn't ever come out of the closet officially, however, I didn't ever need too. My parents were super cool my entire life and before I could tell them said if you are, we'd be okay with it. So, I never really felt the need to openly express it, just part of who I was. To further his point he said, "I mean you are head of the drama club and president of the National Honor Society."

"Okay first off, not all actors in theatre are gay, and two just because I'm smart does not mean that I have to be gay."

"Chill out little guy. I didn't say that there was anything wrong with it. Just curious is all." Then Threw me another wink. What is it with this guy and winks?

"Well, Being the only boy in the school who is gay makes the dating pool kind of small. And don't call me little I could whoop your ass." Okay maybe not whoop but I could hold my own. I was 6'1 and stocky. I had a flat stomach but never really worked out that much. We were then joined by the rest of the boys, who's timing could not be more impeccable. "What were you two talking about?" Kason asked. Kason is my bff and always has been. Since we were in diapers he was always someone I could call and ask for help if I needed it. "How stupid that haircut is that you got." I snapped at him.

"I can't look as bad as you do in that shirt." He quipped back. "Really cause I'm pretty sure I stole this from your house."

"Can't be, unless you got it from my sisters' closet." This caused the whole table to burst into laughter. Colton sat there in shock at our banter. "what just happened?" he asked. "You can't take anything that we say too serious. We mess around like that all the time. It's because I hate his guts." Kason said with a playful shove of my arm.

"Yea it's kind of our thing. He's the worst human being and I am just here to try and salvage any part of his soul that might be good." I playfully added. "Wow, seems like you two have been friends for some time." Colton says. "Too long I fear" says Kason.

After lunch we decided to walk around the shopping section to let our food settle before we attempt to ride anymore rides. While walking through some of the racks of cheaply made t-shirts Colton never left my side. I was curious as to why, he and Kason had a math class together this year and I figured that they could at least carry a conversation. "So you never answered my question earlier."

"Why are you so interested?"

"Am I not allowed to ask?" he stopped to look at me as he said this.

"I mean I can't stop you from asking. Doesn't mean I'll answer." I said with a wink. This made him blush just a little bit. I don't think that he thought that I noticed. "Well you must not remember what I said earlier about taking no for an answer."

"Fine. If you must know I don't have one currently. But I am waiting on Channing Tatum to get back to me." This made him double over in laughter. "No offense but I don't see him reaching out anytime soon."

"Make fun all you want but this," I ran my hands over my face and body, "Is the total package." Again with the laughter. Colton and I had been getting along fantastically. And the light blue tank top he was wearing showed off his muscular arms just a bit too well.

We ran around the rest of the park with nothing really crazy going on. Somehow or another Colton and I were always riding together, and he made it a point to joke about me holding his hand if I got too scared. This threw me for a loop, why did he make it obvious that he wouldn't mind it? Should I grab his hand?
