This is a complete work of fiction, as everyone should know. It is not intended to imply anything about any one of the Backstreet Boys or any one else. The characters and characterizations are completely invented.

Fate's Reason +++++++++++++ Part 3
When Brian and Mark woke a few hours later, neither wanted to move. They lay, wrapped around one another for over an hour, just talking about their lives, careers and friends. Mark avoided all talk about his family.
Finally Brian reluctantly moved, rolling off the bed. "I guess we should get your stuff. I'll go talk to Kevin about a car, okay?"
Mark smiled and nodded. "Okay, I should be up by the time you get back."
Brian was gone for about five minutes. When he returned with Kevin, Mark was sitting on the side of the bed. "How are you Mark?" Kevin asked as Brian went to the closet.
"I'm doing better, Kevin, thanks." Mark told him.
Brian returned, wearing a baseball hat and reading glasses. Mark noticed the lenses were plain glass. "Nice disguise," he said and Brian grinned.
Kevin handed Brian the keys to a rental car he'd got from the hotel. "Just be careful, B." Kevin told his cousin before leaving the two alone.
Mark leaned on Brian for support as they slowly walked down the hall to the elevator, which took them to the underground parking. Brian insisted Mark stay by the door while he got the car. They made it out to the street without incident. It was Friday rush hour in the city so it took almost twice as long to get to Mark's apartment as normal. It was small and cozy, on the main floor of an old house.
Once inside, Mark slowly made his way to the bedroom where he pulled out a duffel bag to pack things in. Brian wanted to help, but Mark insisted he just stay in the living room. When Mark had everything he needed, he walked back into the living room. Brian was looking at an array of family pictures sitting on top of the entertainment center.
"Is this your sister?" Brian asked, indicating a picture of two seven-year-old children, one boy, and one girl.
Mark nodded. "Yeah, that's Maria."
"And are these your parents?" Brian indicated another picture.
Mark stiffened, but Brian didn't notice. "Yeah," he said.
"You never mentioned them much when we were talking earlier," Brian continued. "They look like nice people."
"Can we not talk about this!" Mark snapped.
Brian looked at him quickly. Mark was standing there, trembling, tears running down his face. Brian dashed over to Mark and wrapped his arms around him. "I'm sorry Mark," Brian whispered as he held the other man and just let him cry. Brian managed to get them both to the small couch so they could sit. Gradually, Mark's tears subsided. Brian tenderly wiped the tears from his cheeks and softly kissed Mark's mouth.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Brian asked gently.
"Not right now, if that's okay."
"Whatever you want Mark. I'll listen when you're ready to talk," Brian told him, then stood up, picking up the duffel bag. "Are you ready to go Mark?" he asked.
Mark remained where he was. "Why are you doing this Brian?" he asked suddenly, making Brian stop.
Brian set the bag down and walked back to Mark, kneeling in front of him. Their eyes met. "Because you need someone and I need someone," Brian said softly. "And I want that someone to be you," he said simply.
Mark was amazed that Brian was saying this to him and smiled. Brian joined him.
"Okay, lets go then," Mark said.
Brian helped him up and grabbed the bag on the way out the door.
Back at the hotel, they returned to Brian's room and dropped off Mark's things. "We usually all meet in Kevin's room for dinner," Brian told Mark. "But we could skip it if you're too tired."
"That's okay. I'm feeling pretty good right now,"
Brian called Kevin's room to find out about dinner. Everyone was there, just waiting for the food. Brian could see Mark was tired, but he just helped him walk down the hall to Kevin's room. The others could see immediately that Mark wasn't doing very well and Howie jumped up, offering Mark one of the two chairs in the room. Mark slumped into it with a sigh.
"Thanks Howie. I guess I'm more exhausted than I thought."
"No problem," Howie said and flopped down beside a prone A.J. on the bed.
Brian poured Mark a glass of water, handed it to him then sat down on the floor in front of Mark. "Thanks Bri," Mark said softly. Brian just looked up at him and smiled.
The guys all noticed, but no one said a word. Nick just grinned to himself and kept watching TV.
When the food arrived, the five singers all jumped up and rushed the carts as though they hadn't eaten in a week. Mark just remained in his chair and watched, laughing at them.
"What?" Nick asked, with his mouth full. Mark just shook his head and smiled.
Brian returned to Mark carrying a tray of food. Mark looked up in surprise.
"You didn't have to Brian. I was just waiting for the wild dogs to the leave the carcass, then I was going in for leftovers."
Brian had a mouthful of food that he quickly choked on when he burst out laughing at Mark's comments. Tears were streaming down his face as he tried to catch his breath and stop laughing. The others just stared, having missed Mark's comments. Finally, Brian regained control and sat down, ignoring the stares.
Once everyone had eaten, Brian decided he'd better tell the guys what he'd done.
"Uh, guys?" Brian said. All conversation ceased and all eyes turned to Brian.
Before he could speak, A.J. spoke. "B. its okay, Kevin told us and its cool if Mark comes with us for a while. It'll be nice to have someone interesting to talk to."
"Hey, did you just call us boring?" Howie asked, hitting A.J. with a pillow. The fight was on, and Nick joined in, taking Howie's side against A.J.
"No fair!" A.J. whined then looked over at Kevin and Brian. "Some help here would be nice guys!"
Brian waved Kevin in and Kevin grabbed a pillow. Brian and Mark just watched and laughed. Ten minutes later all four men lay sprawled every which way across the bed, exhausted. Brian stood up and held his hand out to Mark.
"Thanks for the entertainment guys. See you in the morning," Brian said as they walked out the door. A pillow hit harmlessly against the wall beside the door.
They walked back to Brian's room and Brian closed the door behind them. He walked up behind Mark and put his arms around his chest, careful not to squeeze any bruises. He tenderly kissed the back of Mark's neck. Mark sighed and leaned back into the comforting arms.
"Time for bed," Brian said softly.
"Mmm, is that an invitation?" Mark asked seductively.
Brian laughed lightly. "Maybe, but not tonight. Tonight you need sleep," he said and marched Mark to the bed. "Did you bring something to sleep in?" Brian asked.
Mark nodded. "I have some boxers in my duffel bag." Brian retrieved them for Mark, then went into the bathroom, giving Mark some privacy to change, now that he had the strength to do it. Brian didn't want to rush things despite his ever-strengthening feelings for Mark. He'd been with a few guys before; mainly other closeted celebrities simply looking for some fun and release. But he knew that what he was feeling for Mark was different. Mark seemed interested, but Brian couldn't be sure if it was just the excitement of being with a Backstreet Boy, or if Mark had real feelings. There was no doubt in Brian's mind that Mark was hiding something. All he could do was wait until Mark confided in him.
Brian returned to the bedroom and found Mark lying in bed staring at the ceiling. Brian crawled in beside Mark but he wasn't sure whether he should touch him. Mark took care of that by rolling on his side and stretching his arm across Brian's chest.
Mark traced the scar over Brian's heart. "Something we have in common," Brian said softly.
Mark was quiet. "My parents threw me out of the house when I was sixteen," Mark whispered so softly Brian barely heard him. But he did, and he understood. He pulled Mark closer.
The next day the six men piled onto the tour bus and headed for Ottawa. The full night's sleep had done Mark well and despite the remaining bruises he felt strong and alert. He even challenged Nick to a Nintendo game.
By the end of the four-hour bus ride, all six men were laughing and talking. The bus pulled up in front of the hotel amid a throng of fans. Mark looked out the tinted glass windows in trepidation.
"Here Mark, catch." Mark turned and caught the hat and sunglasses Howie tossed his way. "Makes it more difficult for them to figure out who you are," he explained.
The guys made a break for the front entrance amid the screaming and crying girls and flashes from cameras. They went to their rooms, three doubles since they were only staying one night. Quick showers and changes before they were out the door to the arena for sound check and rehearsal. Mark decided to stay at the hotel and get some extra rest before the concert that night.
Brian returned and quietly opened the door not wanting to disturb Mark if he was sleeping.
Mark was on his cell phone. "Love you Chris, talk to you soon," he said before hanging up. He turned and saw Brian standing there. Brian set his keys on the table and walked to the bathroom. Mark followed.
"Brian?" Mark said tentatively.
Brian tossed him a careless smile despite the daggers piercing his heart. "Forget it Mark, you don't owe me any explanation."
"No, I don't," Mark said matter-of-factly. Brian stopped stripping out of his sweaty clothes to look at him. Mark continued, "I'm not going to go into a long explanation right now, except I will tell you that you don't have to be jealous. Chris is only seven."
Brian looked away. "Sorry. I had no right to be upset. I know we haven't really talked about it but…" Mark walked over and kissed him, shutting him up.
"Brian, the fact that I'm here with you should say enough," Mark said, running his fingers along Brian's chin, "but in case it doesn't, I'm serious about this, us, you and me. I don't know where it's leading, but it's been a very long time since I've felt what I'm feeling."
Their eyes met and souls unchained, freeing an explosion of passion. Mark stripped off the remainder of Brian clothes, then ripped off his own before pulling Brian back to him. Lips met, mouths opened, allowing tongues to perform an erotic dance, teasing and tormenting each other. Brian reached over and turned the shower on, dragging Mark under the streaming water.
Mark shoved Brian gently against the tile, kissing and licking his way down the smooth, muscled chest in front of him. Mark reveled in the taste of Brian's flesh. It had been too long. He knelt down in the tub and looked hungrily at his prize, all eight, throbbing inches of it. Looking up at Brian's face, Mark engulfed the raging cock in his mouth until his face reached pubic hair.
Brian gasped loudly, "Oh god Mark!" Brian grabbed for some leverage and latched onto the showerhead to prevent himself from collapsing in the tub.
Mark pulled back and teased the head of Brian's cock, kissing, then licking softly before throating the entire shaft. His hand found Brian's balls and gently massaged them while his mouth continued to work. He could feel the cock growing in his mouth. That's not where he wanted it. He pulled off and Brian moaned at the loss. Mark stood up and Kissed Brian passionately, grinding his cock into Brian's.
"I want you in me, doll. Please?" he begged in Brian's ear. Brian looked at him intently, wanting to be sure, and saw passion, desire and love. Mark switched places with Brian, grabbing onto the showerhead, his ass facing Brian. Mark thought he was going to cum in anticipation.
Brian used his own precum to work a finger into Mark hole. His ass twitched and he groaned, it felt so good. Brian added a second finger and began working them in and out, finger fucking Mark until Mark was thrusting back against him. Brian pulled out his fingers and positioned the head of his throbbing tool against Mark's hole.
"You sure, babe?" he asked huskily. Mark thrust back in response and gasped in pain as Brian's cock penetrated him. Neither man moved, allowing Mark to adjust to the fullness he felt. Brian let him lead and waited until Mark thrust back, slowly engulfing Brian's cock until his balls touched Mark's.
Mark leaned forward until he found the perfect position, resting his hands on the edge of the bathtub. "Now, Doll. Please fuck me, fuck me hard," he begged, his voice husky with passion.
Brian obliged and pulled back, leaving only the head of his cock in before pounding into Mark's ass. Mark gasped and Brian did it again. He reached beneath and stroked Mark's balls, causing him to buck back, slamming his ass against Brian's pelvis. Brian ran his hands up and down Mark's muscled back before grabbing his hips to thrust deeply into his ass. He continued thrusting in and out. Mark was gasping and moaning, saying Brian's name over and over. Brian had never been so aroused, and knew he was approaching orgasm. He began to thrust faster and faster. Mark wanted to come at the same time and grabbed his own pulsing cock, jerking off while Brian continued slamming his ass. Mark began to cum seconds before Brian, his ass clamped down on Brian's loaded cock, sending him over the edge. Brian shot load after load into Mark until his cum began to run out and around his softening tool. Brian could barely stand, never having experienced an orgasm like that before. He leaned down on Mark's back, breathing hard. His now soft cock slipped out of Mark's ass and Mark moaned at the loss. He stood up and turned, wrapping his arms around Brian, letting the warm water wash over them both.
"Thank you," Mark whispered.
Brian grinned. "No, thank you!" he said kissing Mark tenderly, still wary of the cuts and bruises.
They reluctantly got out of the shower and got dressed. Brian looked at his watch. "Oh, shit! We're late!" he said, grabbing his shoes. Mark was already dressed. They ran down to Kevin and Nick's room, giggling like teenagers.
The guys looked up from their food as Brian and Mark went to the cart to grab what food was left.
"At least someone is getting some action around here," Nick quipped.
"Nick!" Howie exclaimed.
Brian and Mark both blushed, making it obvious Nick was right. "Does everyone have to know everything that goes on?" Brian asked grumpily. The others just laughed.
They finished dinner and left for the arena. The concert went perfect, particularly since the guys were over their colds. Once back in the hotel, everyone went to their rooms and crashed. It was a Saturday night but no one felt like partying. The bus was leaving early for Detroit although the concert wasn't until Tuesday night.
Mark was sleeping but Brian hadn't drifted off yet. "I've only known you two days but I love you Mark," Brian whispered before falling asleep. A very still Mark stirred, having heard Brian's words. He knew he had to tell Brian everything before telling him how he felt. The question was when.
