NOTES: NEWBIE - There you have it! This is my first post so any comments would be appreciated. But please, if you can't be kind, at least be funny. : -)) Please let me know what you think at kenitra_canada@hotmail.com.
Thanks to those of you who emailed me after part 4. At least I know I have some Readers. ;-)
I'm starting a couple of other stories on nifty. If you're looking for some romance then you may want to check out Millennium Love. If you're wanting some quicker action, check out Set You Free (It has a good story too!).
LEGALITIES: You know the drill. If you are under the legal age for whatever state, province or country you live in, don't read this story. If you are offended by material about homosexual relationships, DON'T READ IT.
This is a complete work of fiction, as everyone should know. It is not intended to imply anything about any one of the Backstreet Boys or any one else. The characters and characterizations are completely invented.
Anyway, here is Part 5. Hope you enjoy! Kenitra (P.S. Thought I'd let you know - I'm female. Hope you don't hold it against me! lol :))
Fate's Reason +++++++++++++ +++++++++++++ Part 5
Brian returned to Detroit with a determination stronger than he'd ever had. After the Detroit concert, they had a concert in Philadelphia on Thursday then they had a week off. Brian refused to answer any questions the guys asked about Mark or if Mark would be back. Brian asked Kevin to fly to Kentucky with him early Friday morning.
They barely spoke until the plane was in the air. Finally Kevin had to know. "B, are you planning what I think you're planning?" Kevin asked.
Brian looked at his cousin and fought back tears. "Yeah. I have a reason to now." Brian finally told Kevin the whole story.
"So what are you expecting from Aunt Jackie?" Kevin asked.
Brian thought for a moment. "I'm not really sure. If she never wants to see me again, then it won't matter if I come out and openly support Mark. If she's okay with things then, ideally, they could provide additional support for Mark's case. I don't know Kev. But I can't keep quiet any longer. I promise I'll give you and the others a heads-up before it goes public, okay?"
Kevin nodded. "Okay."
They went their separate ways when the plane landed, after Brian promised to call Kevin no matter how it went with his parents. Brian was nervous and barely said two words to his brother Harold who'd picked him up at the airport. Brian knew his parents loved him, he had never doubted that. But being gay went against the bible and he wondered if his parents could forgive him for that.
Brian didn't want to wait, so as soon as he walked in the door, he asked his parents and brother to come to the living room.
"Brian, honey, its so good to see you," Jackie said, hugging her son.
"Hi Mom," Brian said, squeezing tight. "I love you Mom."
"What's going on?" Harold Sr. asked as he walked in.
"Could y'all sit down. We have to talk."
They looked perplexed but sat, waiting. Brian didn't know where to start.
"There's a little girl in Toronto who just lost her parents, her two mothers, in a car accident." Brian began pacing the room, not looking directly at anyone as he spoke. "But she was lucky, because her Dad was around and he loves her and wants to take care of her." His voice broke slightly as he remembered the emotion in Mark's voice. "But her Dad is single and doesn't have a family, at least a family that would want to help him, so the courts may try to take her away. Especially if the courts investigate this man and find out he's gay. The thing is, he's not alone. There is a man that loves him as much as life itself. But this man has been too afraid to tell the people he loves about his true self." Tears were running freely down Brian's face. He stopped pacing and turned to look at his family. "I'm that man," he stated defiantly.
Jackie looked at her son. "I think we figured that part out honey," she said quietly.
Brian stood there, staring, waiting for something more.
Harold Sr. finally spoke. "Brian, you're our son. We love you; always have, always will. You're twenty-four, almost twenty-five, don't you think we've figured things out yet?"
"But..." Brian didn't know what to say.
"Brian, dear, if we took everything in the bible as absolute truth, I would be nothing but a piece of property to your father. Now that's not true or right, is it?" Jackie asked, walking over to her bewildered son.
He flung his arms around her and began to cry. The emotional roller coaster he'd been on for the past few days, even the past few years, finally broke through. When he finally calmed down, he sat beside his Mom on the couch.
"So your in love, Brian?" she asked.
He nodded. "It's going to sound crazy. I've only known him for a week, but there is such a thing as love at first sight."
Jackie smiled fondly at her son. "So it would seem," she said.
Brian told his family the entire story about how he and Mark met, to the car accident and Children's Services.
"So if we're behind you and you're with Mark, you're hoping that will be enough for him to keep Chris?" his mother put it all together. Brian nodded.
"What does Mark think about this?" Harold Jr. asked.
"He doesn't know. I couldn't tell him what I was planning because I didn't know how you would react." Brian began to pace again, then had an idea. "We have a concert December first in Orlando. Can you guys come to it?" he asked excitedly as a plan formed.
His parents nodded. "Good. Chris should be able to travel by then and I'll get them to the concert."
Brian dashed out of the room, then stepped back to the door. "You're the most amazing family anyone could ever have!" he said then disappeared.
He called Kevin first, then dialed Mark's number. The number had been changed to an unlisted number. Brian felt a rising panic. He called information and got the listing for Forever's Child.
"Mark Laurance, please," he asked the receptionist.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Laurance no longer works for us, may I direct your call elsewhere." Brian hung up. Mark's fears had been realized, and without a job, there was no way he would be able to keep Chris.
Brian called Kevin again. "Kev, I need you to do me a favor. Can you call anyone and everyone you can think of and see if you can find a job for a qualified physiotherapist?" Kevin realized instantly what Brian was asking.
"What did Mark say, B?" he asked.
"I haven't been able to reach him, Kev. I called his work and was told he no longer worked there," Brian said.
"Okay B, I'll do what I can. Bye."
Brian thought for a minute, then picked up the phone, calling Nick in Orlando. "Hey Frack, its me," Brian said when Nick answered.
"Frick, wassup?"
"I have a giant favor to ask and I'll owe you big time."
"Okay, what do ya need?" Nick asked.
"I need you to fly to Toronto and visit Mark's daughter, Chris, taking two tickets to our December first concert, plus plane tickets and hotel reservations. You have to see Chris though because Mark will say no."
"Okay. But why don't you go, Brian?"
"Because Mark wouldn't want to see me right now and besides, you're Chris' favorite Backstreet Boy."
"Really?"
"Yeah, but I'm gonna work on that."
"Okay B. I'll take care of it all. See ya in a few days in Jersey."
Brian hung up the phone. All he could do was wait. He visited with his family and friends, but remained preoccupied. Finally, on Sunday, Nick called.
"Hey B. wassup?" Nick said.
"Nick! Tell me. What happened?" Brian asked anxiously.
"He's pretty messed up, Brian," Nick said, turning serious. "Chris is at home now and healing really well. She's a sweet kid. But Mark's getting desperate. The courts know he lost his job and that he's gay. They've scheduled a hearing for December sixth. He finally agreed to go to the concert as something he and Chris could do together; something for her to remember."
"Did he ask about me?" Brian wondered.
"No, B. All he said was thank Brian for the thought but its too late."
"Too late? Too late for what?" Brian demanded.
"I don't know B. You should visit him, talk to him," Nick said.
"I can't. I can't risk causing him more problems. I'll see him in a week and a half. Thanks Nick, I really do owe you."
"Talk to ya later, B," Nick said and hung up.
The next ten days were torture for Brian. He returned to Orlando before heading to New Jersey for their concert. Finally, November thirtieth arrived. The band was back in Orlando for their concert the next day. Brian was a nervous wreck. Mark and Chris were arriving midmorning on a flight from Toronto. Brian had booked a two-bedroom suite in the Disney hotel and was waiting at the hotel while Kevin went to pick them up. Brian jumped when there was a knock at the door. He knew it was too early to be Kevin. When he opened the door, he found his Mom and Nick standing there.
"What are you two doing here?" Brian asked in surprise.
"Hey, come on in. Thanks Brian. No prob Nick." Nick ran a commentary as he and Jackie walked past Brian.
"I was talking to Mark on his cell and suggested that Jackie and I take Chris to Disney World for the afternoon," Nick said, flopping down on the couch.
Brian shook his head. "Chris won't be strong enough for that!"
"That why we've arranged for an escort and a four-seater cart," Jackie told him. "Relax dear, we'll take good care of her and give a little time to talk to Mark."
Brian continued pacing around the room until there was another knock at the door. He took a few deep breaths before opening it. "Hey Kev, come on in." Brian stood back while everyone entered. "Hi Chris. You're looking better," he said to the little girl.
"Hi Brian," she said, returning the smile. Then her eyes lit up when she saw Nick. "Nicky!" She ran over to him and hugged him.
Brian looked at the last one entering the room, Mark. He had to swallow a gasp. Mark looked like hell. He'd lost weight and looked like he hadn't slept in a week. It was almost as bad as when they'd first met. "Hi Mark," he said softly.
"Brian," Mark said quietly, refusing to meet Brian's gaze.
Brian sighed. "Mark, I want to introduce you to my Mom, Jackie Littrell." Brian led Mark over to his Mom and Nick.
Mark smiled politely. "Mrs. Littrell. Nice to meet you."
Jackie smiled back. "Very nice to finally meet you Mark, and your daughter Chris. And please call me Jackie."
"So when are we going to Disney World?" Chris asked excitedly.
Nick grinned. "Right now, kiddo, if that's okay with your Dad."
"Daddy?" Chris walked over to where Mark had sat down.
He looked at her and smiled, a real genuine smile. "Okay. But you listen to Nick and Jackie, and no rides! Maybe we'll come back sometime when your arm has healed. Okay?" he asked, giving her a quick hug.
"Thanks, Daddy. See you later." She grabbed Nick's hand as they went out the door. Kevin left with them, leaving Mark and Brian alone since Chris' accident.
Brian walked over to where Mark was sitting staring down at his feet. Brian stood there watching him. Mark's shoulders began to shake. Finally he looked up, tears streaming down his face.
"Help me!" he pleaded softly.
Brian sat down on the couch and pulled Mark to him, holding him tightly, stroking his hair and back, and rocking him, "I am helping you love. I told you I wasn't giving up and I meant it. Everything is going to be okay now, I promise." Mark pulled back so he could se Brian's face.
"How can you be so sure?" he asked.
"Because I love you," Brian said softly and kissed that mouth he'd been desperately missing.
"Brian," Mark said, but Brian put his fingers over Mark's mouth.
"Shhh, don't say a word." Brian stood up and pulled Mark with him, leading him into one of the bedrooms. Brian closed the door and pulled Mark into a passionate embrace. Mark tried to fight it, tried not to respond, but he couldn't. He loved Brian too much and had missed him terribly. They fell backwards onto the bed, Brian on top.
Brian straddled Mark's hips and began unbuttoning his shirt. Mark simply looked up at Brian, his eyes filled with love. Once the shirt was of, Brian pulled his own over his head. He lay down on Mark, their bare chests touching, heat radiating between them. Brian ran his hands through Mark's silky blond hair amazed at the feel. God, he should have gone to Mark sooner. He kissed Mark's ear.
"I'm sorry love," he whispered.
"What for?" Mark whispered back, licking Brian's neck.
"I should have gone to you sooner. I ..."
"Shhh." Mark silenced Brian. "I needed the time. Time to realize I was a fool to even try to live without you in my life." Mark pulled Brian's lips back to his.
Their mouths opened and tongues entwined. Both began to grind their hips, their members rapidly hardening. Brian began to kiss along Mark's jaw, licking then kissing his way down his throat to his chest. Brian's tongue teased Mark's nipple, eliciting a groan from him. "Oh doll, I love you," he moaned.
Brian pulled back to look at Mark's face. Both men were already breathing hard. "Prove it," Brian said, keeping his eyes locked on Mark's as he kissed Mark's chin. A seductive grin spread across Brian's face. "Make love to me, Mark," he said huskily. He ground his pelvis harder into Mark. Mark groaned again. Brian sat up and stripped of the rest of his clothes. He returned to help Mark take off his jeans and boxers. Both cocks were completely enflamed and throbbed excitedly. Before lying back on the bed, Brian opened a drawer and pulled out a jar of lube. He turned over and propped himself up against the pillows. Looking up at Mark, he grinned, showing the lube. "I was being hopeful," he said.
Mark laughed and grabbed the jar. He knelt between Brian's raised legs and looked at his love. Brian was licking his lips in anticipation. His ass was twitching too. Mark took a glob of lube and inserted a finger in Brian's ass. Brian inhaled sharply, his sphincter clamping down on the intrusion. He grabbed his own cock and began to work it, gradually relaxing his ass. Mark pulled the finger out to the rim, before shoving back in. Brian began to moan; it felt incredible. He kept his eyes locked with Mark's as Mark pulled his finger out, then inserted two. Brian thought he would cum right then. He was panting and began shoving his ass onto the invading fingers. His eyes were mere slits as passion overtook him. "Please babe, give it to me, I want you now," he begged Mark.
Mark took more lube and spread it over his own throbbing cock. Brian's eyes widened as he looked down at the enlarged tool. A little shiver of apprehension went through him. Mark leaned forward between Brian's legs to kiss him. "I'll go slow doll, promise," he whispered as he positioned the head of his cock at Brian's hole and pushed gently. Brian gasped at the bolt of pain and his eyes filled with tears. Mark kissed him softly and waited until Brian adjusted to Mark's cock. Slowly Mark pushed forward, watching Brian's face for a sign to stop. He could feel him stretching Brian, but the initial pain had gone. Brian was in heaven. When Mark's balls touched Brian's, he stopped and kissed Brian passionately. Finally Mark began to move, pulling his throbbing cock out until Brian moaned at the emptiness, then he drove it home again. Mark wanted more leverage and lifted Brian's legs up over his shoulders allowing him to penetrate Brian deeper and harder. Brian's head was thrashing from side to side as Mark kept slamming his cock into Brian's ass over and over again.
"Oh god babe, that's good. Yeah, deeper. Oh yeah, I always want you in me. I had no idea." Suddenly Brian's cock erupted, shooting streams of cum between them. Mark bent forward to lick up some of the juices before his own cock exploded in Brian's ass. Brian's entire body spasmed at the sensation of his own cock shooting while his ass was being filled by Mark. The orgasm went on and on, both men in oblivion, controlled by the intense pleasures their bodies were experiencing. Brian's legs slid off Mark's shoulders and he reached out, pulling Mark to his chest. Their arms wrapped around each other, holding on while pulses slowed and breathing eased. Brian moaned softly when Mark slipped out of him. He felt so empty.
Mark crawled up beside Brian on the bed and pulled him to him, one arm around his shoulders, the other resting on his sweat covered chest. He kissed Brian's ear. "Are you okay, doll?" he asked softly.
Brian wiggled closer, "Mmm-hmm."
"You should have told me it was your first time," Mark whispered.
"I was just waiting for you to come into my life," Brian said softly.
Mark laughed quietly. "Well I hope you liked it because it's the only cock you're ever going to get,"
"I like the sound of that," Brian said, then turned to look at Mark. "Ya know, you never did tell me why you call me doll."
Mark grinned sheepishly. "You're gonna laugh. When I was little, my sister Maria had some barbies. She had this Ken barbie with short, blondish curly hair." Mark ran his fingers through Brian's damp locks. "You remind me of that doll."
Brian did laugh. "Oh great, I'm a Barbie doll." He rolled over onto Mark.
"But a really cute one," Mark emphasized, earning a kiss.
Mark's stomach growled and they both laughed. "I'm going to get you some food," Brian said, leaning across Mark to pick up the phone. He ordered room service then they both went into the bathroom for a quick shower to wash off the drying cum.
Brian threw on his jeans and went out to get the food, quickly returning to the bedroom with the tray. Mark was lying on the bed in his boxers and Brian sat down cross-legged, with the tray between them. They fed each other fruit and sandwiches, talking about what had gone on for the past couple of weeks.
Mark described how his boss called him to the office and asked point blank if he was gay. And when Mark said yes, the boss laid out a story of funding cuts and how Mark's position was being eliminated. Brian swore at their stupidity. Mark began to lose his enthusiasm as he thought more about the hearing scheduled for the following Monday.
"You know, it won't matter that her mother wanted me to have her, or that she wants to be with me," he said softly.
"Mark, you don't have to do this alone. Don't you get it?" Brian said in exasperation. "You have me, and we have my family. What that court is going to see is a gay man in a committed relationship with a good, supportive and even religious family in the background to help out. And a new job," Brian added.
"Job?"
Brian nodded. "It's Kevin's cancer foundation," Brian held up his hand," and before you say no; you still have to interview for the job and its not up to Kevin but the Executive Director of the foundation. The position involves helping people who have survived cancer through surgery or chemotherapy and radiation regain full mobility. If you don't like it you can change, after the court grants you custody of Chris. Okay?"
Mark's eyes were brimming with tears. "Do you have any idea how much I love you?"
Brian grinned and stole a kiss, before reaching past Mark to answer the phone. "Hello." Brian listened. "Thanks, Frack." He hung up and rolled off the bed. "That was Nick giving us a heads- up, they're on their way back so we should get dressed."
They rummaged around the room, gathering their clothes and were fully dressed, sitting on the couch when the door opened.
Chris came running in wearing mouse ears and a huge smile. She ran over to her Dad and threw her good arm around his neck. Mark picked her up in a sweeping hug, careful of her broken arm.
"That was so awesome Daddy. We saw everything, Mickey Mouse, Snow White, the Little Mermaid and the dolphins and," she paused to catch her breath.
"Whoa, Chris slow down," Mark sat down with Chris on his lap. "So you had a good time?" She nodded, still grinning. "And did you thank Nick and Jackie for going with you?"
Chris slid off Mark's knee and ran over to Nick, giving him a hug. "Thanks Nicky!" she said then ran over to Jackie, hugging her too. "Thanks Jackie."
"You're very welcome Chris," Jackie said, smiling at the child as she returned to her Dad.
"So have you guys eaten yet?" Brian asked.
"We had a snack but dinner sounds good," Nick said.
"I don't think I'll stay," Jackie said, rising. "Harold and I will have something later."
"Chris honey, why don't you help Nick and Brian decide what we'll have for dinner. Okay?" Mark suggested. Chris followed Brian and Nick to the table to look at the menu. "Jackie, could I talk to you for a minute?" Mark asked hesitantly.
"Of course."
Mark led her out to the balcony, then turned to face her. "I wanted to apologize for earlier. I didn't mean to be rude. I was just feeling helpless and overwhelmed with what been going on." Mark didn't know what else to say. It had been a long time since he'd dealt with a mother.
"Mark, do you love Brian? My son Brian, the man Brian? Not the pop star Brian?" she asked intently.
Mark met her eyes, his own expressing clearly the overpowering love he had. "Yes," he said simply.
Jackie smiled. "Then that's all I need to know. I realize that things have been hard for you and it may take a while to get used to having people in your life who consider you family, but we'll work on that." She walked over to stand in front of Mark. "But the first thing we have to do is make sure that precious child stays where she belongs, with her Dad."
"Thank you," Mark said softly. Jackie hugged him and after a few seconds he hugged back.
"You're welcome, Mark," she said just as softly, before they returned to the room.
Brian, Nick, Mark and Chris ate and talked more about Disney World before Chris went to bed, and Nick headed home. Brian and Mark spent the evening on the couch, just holding each other and watching TV. Brian wanted to stay, but decided against it because of Chris and he knew the media was on the prowl in the city knowing the Backstreet Boys were back home.
The next day, in the morning, Jackie and Harold stayed with Chris while Mark went to the job interview and the band had a group meeting. Brian had to let the others know things were about to come out.
They all met at Brian, Kevin and Howie's apartment. Brian waited until they were all sitting down before speaking. "Okay, I'm not sure where to begin, so let me know if I confuse you. I know Kev and Nick have a better idea about what's happening than D and A.J. Um, Mark has a custody hearing next Monday. Mark said it was a closed hearing but... anyway I intend to be there and support him openly." Brian looked at his friends. "I'm going to tell the judge that I'm committed to Mark and my parents are going to help us." He paused and took a deep breath. "I want to hold a press conference and come out publicly, for my own sake as well as Mark's and Chris'. I can't ask a seven-year-old girl to keep a secret like that. Ideally I'd like the press conference to be here at home on Friday. And I would like y'all to be with me." He looked around the room again. "But it's up to each of you. If you want to talk about it or think about it, I'll understand."
"B, shut up," A.J. interrupted Brian with a grin. "We've all known each other too long to let anyone of us hang in the wind alone. You're our brother, man and the Backstreet Boys are strong enough and popular enough to survive this," A.J. said confidently. The others all agreed.
"So, didn't we all say B would be the first to settle down and have a kid!" Nick said, incurring a tossed pillow.
They worked out the details about where and when they'd hold the press conference. Kevin promised to talk to their management.
The concert went off without a problem, and Mark accepted the job he was offered. He and Chris returned to Toronto on Friday. Brian and his parents would fly up on Sunday.
