Hey there people. I was bored to day in a meeting so I started writing this story down on a note pad. It seemed to be good so I was like man post it and see what they think.
Legal stuff, you know the deal. If you're under 18 don't read even though I haven't added any sex into this. But it does deal with homosexual relationships. I'm also not saying the Kevin Richardson is homosexual granted myself and a lot of other guys wouldn't mind if he is. He isn't so him loss you know.
Okay I haven't come up with a working name for this yet if anyone has a good name tell me and I might use it. Thanks.
Fear of the written word Chapter one
"God I hate Fridays." I say coming climbing into my car and driving out of my office building. Well I guess I should tell you a little about myself. My name is David Broome, I'm 22 about 5'9", 165lbs, dirty blonde hair with blonde high lights, blue green eyes. I'm told I look like I should be on the beach not behind a desk working. I seem to be able to keep my tan all year round or at least till spring. I have also been told that my eyes and my legs are some of my best features, don't ask me why people think my legs are some of my best features. I don't do anything with my legs but walk. But, who am I do fight with the public. Anyway, where was I, oh yeah I had just left work and was going home. Now most people love Friday's cause it's the end of the workweek, myself I hate them cause the most work has to be done on Fridays. As I drive through afternoon traffic going home my cell rings. "You're dime my time, what cha need?"
"David?" asks the voice on the other end
"This is he. How can I help you?" I say into the phone.
"It's Michelle." Replies the voice.
"Michelle.... Michelle I don't know a Michel... Michelle Walters?"
"Yes, so you do remember me?"
"At first no, anyway girl what's going on with you. I haven't head from you in like years."
"Well I just moved back into the city this week and I was wonder what you where doing tonight, I want to go out and I haven't seen you in awhile so you want to go out?" She asks.
"Sure, were do you want to meet?" I reply smiling, hoping to have some fun this weekend.
"Do you still live in that brown stone in Georgetown?"
"Yup and staying there till the place falls to the ground. Come on over when your ready, I'll make us something to eat and we can talk."
"Okay I'll be there around 7."
"Great I'll see you then. Bye hun."
"Bye." And she hangs up. God Michelle Walters, I have talked to her sense her mother died. Michelle's mother and mine where best friends in high school. After Michelle's mother died my mother couldn't handle it and she moved out of the country to France. She now owns a wine vineyard there. I get a bottle or two of whatever they just made once every month. I don't drink that much so I turned the basement into a wine seller. Anyway mom lives in France and I live in our house here in Washington DC. I have a great job with no social life. Hopefully this will change with Michelle being here. I pull my car into my parking space and get out. Miss Winters is sitting in a rocking chair on her front porch snapping string beans. Miss Winters is this old strong black woman that I have known for like forever, she's in her early 90's but you couldn't tell. She moves like this still in her 20's. God I love this woman she's like my adopted mother, I wave to her and walk across the street to talk to her.
"Hey Miss Winters, how you doing today?" I ask sitting down on the steps.
"I'm good baby." I smile at that she calls everyone baby. "You seem happier then normal, does someone finally got a date?" she says to me looking over the rim of her classes.
"In away, Michelle Walters moved back into town and she is coming over for dinner and then we are going out." I say smiling backup at her.
"Oh I was hoping that you got a new boyfriend that I could flirt with." She says smiling at me.
"Oh just lovely I'll have to compete with the woman across the street for the love of my boyfriend." I say smiling back at her.
"You know I wouldn't do that to you, anyway baby here take some string beans and cook them for your dinner." She says handing me this big handful of string beans.
"Thanks Miss Winters, your right I do have to go and get dinner cooking. I'll stop by some time tomorrow and we can talk okay." I say standing up and dusting myself off.
"Boy you better not be over her tomorrow, I want you out looking for a boyfriend." She replies shaking one of her old fingers at me.
"Yes Miss Winters." I say pouting and looking at the ground. She starts to laugh.
"Get you young in, you have a dinner to cook for a friend and I have a dinner to cook for myself." With that she stands up and grabs the bowl of snapped string beans she just snapped. I shake my head smiling and head over to my house. "Talk to you tomorrow baby."
"Till to tomorrow." I say turning around and waving. I walk up to my house and let myself in. walking into the kitchen I pull out a pot and put the string beans in them with some sugar and water. I place them on the stove but I don't turn it on, I just leave the beans on the stove in the water. Walking out of the kitchen I go up stairs and get changed into something more relaxed for the evening. Or until Michelle comes and I'm forced to get changed. Walking back down stairs and into the living room and turn on the TV to watch the news and whatever else is on. Seeing that nothing is on I just vegg out and relax. I did nothing till the doorbell started to ring at 7:30. I get up and answer it. Standing out side was this raven-haired beauty that I had never seen before.
"Ass take a picture it will last longer." She replied laughing.
"Michelle?" I say blinking my eyes and then rubbing them.
"The one and only, how you doing David?" she replied walking up and hugging me.
"I'm good, damn girl look at you." I say standing her at arms length, turning her from side to side.
"No look at you, god what happened." She says pulling me into the house.
"Nothing really I'm just lonely." I say smiling at her and walking past her.
"Well I'm here now and we will find you a boyfriend." At her saying that I remember I told her that so long ago.
"I forgot I told you that." I say tuning around and looking at her.
"What that you're gay and I can never have you."
"Um yeah that." I say looking down about ready to cry.
"Oh Dave I'm sorry, I was playing. Is it really that bad?"
"God Michelle I have no life here. I go to work, I do my assignments, come home, eat, then sleep." I say crying on her shoulder
"Well come on we are going to go eat and then we are going to get you dressed then we are going out to just have fun." She says pulling my head from her shoulder and smiling at me. I just shake my head and look into her eyes. This is my Michelle I can see her blue eyes.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Cause I got bored with the blonde. Besides people take me more seriously with darker hair."
"Oh" I say smiling at her.
"Come on I'll cook you dinner tonight." She says grabbing my hand and pulling me into the kitchen. She cooks dinner for us and get into talking about what we've been doing for the last 6 years. I told her about my mom, she told me about her dad. We talked about our past loves and what we do now. When we finally were up to date on each other's lives, I looked at the clock on the stove.
"Oh my god we have been talking for over 4 hours. Do you still want to go out?" I said pleading that she did.
"But of course. Go get ready, I'll clean this mess up." She says getting up.
"Hey where are we going?" I asked.
"Well this guy at work was talking about this club called The Edge. He made it sound like fun. Have you ever been there?" she asks.
"Nope, never ever heard of the place before." I say turning around and walking up the stairs to my room. I come down a little later dressed and ready to go.
"You know I hate gay guys."
"Why?" I look at her a little shocked.
"Cause you all are so hot but your gay. Anyway, your lose, come on lets go, do you still not drink," she asks looking at me as she steps out of the house. I shake my head yes; "good you can drive around tonight." She says walking over to my car.
"Do you know how to get to this place?"
"Yup it's by Tracks."
"Hun not to bust your bubble but Tracks was closed down last year."
"What?" she says looking over at me. "You're lying right?"
"I wish, the owners closed it down and are opening up a new club called the Point. I think that's the name of it. It's over where the Pier was. I might have the names backwards I don't remember it all. It happened late last year."
"Good I wanted to stop by Tracks and have some fun." She says whining and pouting.
"We'll have fun at this place don't worry about it." I say driving down M street. We get to where the clubs where. This part of town held more of the homosexual type of clubs. Granted no one cared these clubs where the more fun ones so. Parking my car, we walk over to the Edge and stand in line. I notice this really hot guy standing 10 people in front of us. He was really hot, but I knew I've seen him before. Michelle starts to talk and I forget about the guy.
"Are you going to dance with me or do I have to dance by myself?" she asks looking me in the eyes. I shrug.
"I'll dance with you, but only if you can get that guy to talk to me." I say pointing at the guy that I was looking at.
"Oh you do like them tall and I love his hair. But I think he might be taken." She says pointing to a smaller man standing next to him they both were talking to one another.
"Shit." I say turning around and looking at the ground.
"Don't worry about it hun, he might be just a friend like me." She says going into tickle me.
"Hey now witch, stop." I say screaming at her and laughing. This draws the attention of everyone around me. Even the hot guy and his friend up front. A few minutes later we are in the club, we head to the dance floor to have some needed fun. "Do you feel like we're being watched?" I say whispering into her ear.
"Yes, lets get off this floor and get something to drink." She says pulling me with her. "We want um... a Cunt Pump and he'll have a coke." I look at her like she's nuts. I reach over and say into her ear.
"What's a Cunt Pump?" I stand up straight and my back bumps into someone. I turn around to say sorry and I see it's the guy I was talking about before. "Um hello." I say a little shocked
"Hi." He replies smiling at me.
"Sorry for bumping into you." I say looking up at him. God was he ever tall.
"Wasn't your fault, I bumped into you." He says flashing me a smile. "Names Kevin if your free maybe we can go somewhere and talk." That name, wher... oh my god it was Kevin Richardson, he was picking me up. Oh lord if I was that type of person I could take real advantage of this.
"Nice to meet you Kevin, this guy with his mouth open is David. Come on lets go sit with Alex over there." She said motioning over to the guy that Kevin came in with. He looks at Michelle a little worried. "Don't worry your safe." She says taking my hand placing it in his. I snap my head towards her as she walks over to AJ.
"I'm sorry about her Kevin, she's worried about me."
"Why?"
"Long, long, long story. Well shall we be off?" I say smiling at him. We walk over to the table hand in hand. As we get there Michelle and AJ are laughing over something. "I'm afraid now."
"Don't be David, Michelle was just telling me about that time in school when you got locked in the bathroom and you crawled threw the ceiling and fell into the girls bathroom. Oh I'm Alex by the way, but you can call me AJ." He says hold his hand out to me. I take it and shake his hand. "Good boy now sit." This gets a laugh from AJ and Michelle. I sit down and we all start talking.
"We'll I know who you guys are, I don't know if David does." Replies Michelle.
"Um I do know who they are, granted after they find out what I do for a living they'll most likely not want to talk to us." I say looking at her.
"Why what do you do?" asks Kevin taking my hand and squeezing it. I turn and look him in the eyes. God what color, I start to breathe harder. I look away from him and start to hyperventilate. "Are you okay." He says handing my drink. I just shake my head as he squeezes my hand harder.
"Kevin, AJ," I say looking from one to another them, "I'm a reporter for the Washington Post."
To be continued...
