Finding Andrew
Chapter 6 - Andrew/Mario vs Andrew/Me??
By the time my birthday came, I was back in good graces with my friends. Lizzy hinted that she still liked me, but I just told her I had some things I needed to work out and that she shouldn't be trying to wait around for me. Mario had again reverted to silent mode, just smiling that evil smile that only he can do. He was up to something. Things between Andrew and myself were going better than I expected. Wrestling wasn't talked about much between us and we found ways to hang out with each other. When we had to wrestle he would ride the bus home with me and my mom would take him home. We went off campus for lunch almost everyday so we were both pretty content. Things would start to turn into trouble when my birthday finally came. Andrew was pissed that I wouldn't let him come...we were both still in the closet and I was having a get together at my house with a sleep over for the guys. No way I could let him spend the night. The risk was far too great.
So my birthday came and went with everybody having a good time. I got pulled aside so that Lizzy could tell me that she wanted to go back out with me (some people never give up, but to each their own). Other than that it was a blast. We watched Spiderman 2, played video games, and whatever else we could think of. After the sleep over, I got a call from you know who.
"Hello?"
"Happy birthday Sam. A shame you didn't want ME over of all people." Andrew said very annoyed.
"I don't know how many times we've been over this. We can go do something on our own."
"That's not the point. If anybody should have been coming over it should have been me...hell, me alone. I had a special gift I wanted to give you. I see where your priorities are though."
"Oh, I thought you were a patient guy. Seems that all you are worried about is..."
"Whatever. Ever since I beat you for the belt, you've been acting like a bitch. If this is how you're going to be, than the hell with you. So much for older guys being mature."
"...If that's what you want fine." I was actually expecting him to back down as I was just bluffing, but he stuck to his word.
"Good. Now I see why Mario says the things he does about you. He's right. You really need to grow up." And with that he hung up the phone. I was still in shock. Mario was saying stuff about me? We're over? I was red in the face with anger and just sat there in my room stunned. I ended up sleeping most of that day to avoid facing my thoughts. When Monday came I wasn't in the greatest of moods.
When I first got off the bus, MJ greeted me at my locker and I told him to fuck off. He was the best friend I had at that point, but I didn't want to talk to anyone. I headed for the library and I'm sure my friends wondered where I disappeared to. By the time 1st period rolled around, I was madder than the day before. Somewhere deep down I felt that Mario had a lot more to do with this than I thought...but I had a lot of blame to share. For one, I don't open up my feelings to others at all. Two, Andrew was right at the way I acted. I was very bitter and to some extent I had a right to be. By the time I got to PE I was emotionally drained and my eyes started to water when I saw Andrew changing. Neither of us said a word as we changed and walked out onto the football field. Our team was undefeated and it was mostly thanks to him. That would change today too. Seems he was in very happy spirits as he talked freely with everyone else and made sure not to even look my way. When it came time for us to play he did the last thing I would expect. After being around him for so long, I know he is just as competitive as me. Even at that time I knew he was because of his reaction to losing in video games. I guess he just decided not to play because he did nothing. Sometimes he wouldn't even put up his hands to catch the ball. Other times he just let people run by him on defense. Every time he messed up he would just look at me and grin. I had enough of his crap and ended up throwing the ball down and walking back towards the school.
I could feel the tears run down my face as my other teammates were yelling at me to get back. I continued walking as one of the girls, Susan, ran up to me to try to reason with me.
"Sam, everyone is counting on you. You can't just turn your back on us. You are our captain."
"Susan I can't. Please just let me go. I can't do this."
"Sam, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"Please just go." She didn't say another word as she turned to run back. The last thing I heard was Andrew yelling something I never forgot. "That's right, Sam. Just run away like you always do. Just tuck your tail and run like the coward you are." I kept walking as I felt as low as I had felt for awhile. Everyone laughed at his comment as I just kept walking. I changed out and ended up going home sick that day. And in case you're wondering, Andrew led our team to the title without me.
Things didn't get any better that night either. Against my wishes, Mike convinced me to go to wrestling. I would be in a match against Dave which has been one of our bigger guys. He stands 6'10" and weighs over 300 pounds. All Mario's doing I'm sure. So I'm in the process of changing into my gear, when the door busts open.
"Looks like I came in at just the right time."
"Fuck off, Mario. You've already ruined me so just gloat and get it over with."
"I've ruined you? Whatever do you mean?" He asked faking surprise.
"First you lose on purpose to Andrew knowing that I wouldn't have the heart to go out there and be serious in a match..."
"So you're turning into a softie I see. Too bad chump."
"Blow me."
"Any other time I would take you up on that, but I'm no longer interested in a worthless wreck like you. Just watching you fall apart this school year has been fun."
"Good for you. Now leave me the..."
"But before I leave you, I thought you would want to know I have a new boyfriend." I didn't really care, but just decided to humor him before I would do or say something I would regret.
"Good for you. And I guess you want to show me, huh?"
"Sure do." He whistled down the hall and I sat there confused to what the hell was going on.
"Andrew?" I asked obviously confused and lost to what had been going on.
"Yup. In the flesh." He said as he and Mario hugged and kissed. I walked out and just took a nice long walk outside. I didn't know if I should be angry or sad. I walked out to a field behind our neighborhood and cried as I fell to my knees. It seemed like everything around me was beginning to fall apart. The only thing I had left was me and I couldn't even depend on that. I sat there until Mike came out there to check on me.
"Sam, you ok?"
"I...I'll be fine."
"You don't look like it. Well, just letting you know that you're up."
"...Ok. Give me a minute or two."
"Alright...and good luck tonight. Doesn't look like you're into it tonight, but good luck anyway."
"Thanks." And with that I rose to my feet. I wiped my face with my shirt and headed back for my match. It was a total waste of time, as Dave dominated me from beginning to end. What made it worse was seeing Andrew and Mario sitting together watching me suffer so much. Dave could have beat me whenever he wanted, but even he enjoyed watching me agonizing in pain. After what seemed like hours he finally planted me with a thunderous chokeslam and stood on my chest, mocking me for the three count. Our trainer checked on me after the match as most people were leaving. I was in pain all over and even had a few cuts with blood flowing down my face. Not only was a mental wreck, but now I was physically as well. I was helped to my feet and told the doc I would head home on my own power. As I made it outside, I decided to head back to the field to get some time alone. I stumbled my way there and sat in the familiar spot that overlooked our neighborhood. I couldn't head home right away due to my soreness...my mom, as you can imagine, was not very fond of me doing this. When I came home after nights like tonight, she would keep me from going. It was something I liked to do so I avoided her as much as possible in this condition. I was enjoying the nice breeze as tears and blood dripped down my face when I felt a sharp pain in the side of my head. I rolled down the hill from the impact of the fist to the temple and found my aggressor standing over me as I struggled to get up.
"You really are weak, Sam." Andrew said in a very serious tone. I tried to rise to my feet as kicked me hard in my left rib cage. I doubled over in pain trying to catch my breath. "I thought you liked me and all along you were using me." He said as he again punched me in the side of the head. I lay motionless, barely breathing and trying to keep from losing consciousness. He picked me up by the collar of my shirt and slammed me back into the ground as he kneeled over me. "Mario was right about you. You don't deserve to be alive." What he did next was very humiliating and probably still stands to one of my most low points in life. He dropped his pants whipped his dick out and proceeded to piss all over me. After he was done, he spit on me, gave me another kick to the ribs, and walked off. I cried as he walked off wondering what the hell I did to deserve this kind of treatment from him. I crawled home and quietly slipped my way into my room through the window. I took a long shower to rid myself of the blood and piss that I was soaked in and went to sleep. I didn't know how I would ever move on from this.
Six down, and many to go. I again apologize for the last chapter. I should have double checked it to make sure it looked ok. Finals and work have me strapped down this week, but I plan to be at least C8 by Monday.
