Well what do I say to that? I was speechless, I would've just passed it off as a psychopaths ramble, but judging by the teleport thing with the hunk sat near to me, there might be some truth in this. Sarah stepped forward and cupped my hands in hers, I immediately backed away and watched her face drop just a little, she must've assumed she was trustworthy.
"You're a Giagm" she said, great whatever she's saying I am, I sound like a brand of chewing gum. "a near extinct race who are hunted for their supernatural life-force and abilities." She looked over my face for any sort of reaction but the speechlessness continued, my mouth opened but nothing came out. "And, we're you're guardians, we lost you a long time ago, we were ambushed and new as guardians, you were so little."
"B-but my family, do they know?" I murmured, yes! I finally managed to get some words out.
"No, they were completely normal; we found out recently that they had adopted you from St. James's orphanage" she said, from the look on my face she could tell that I had no idea I was adopted, another blow to my emotional stability. "Someone went through a great deal of trouble to hide you from us." She continued trying to change the subject. My head was hurting so much from the amount of questions were piled inside, I sat on the bed next to Dylan and stared at the floor hoping for someone to just pop in and make sense of the situation within seconds.
"So, I'm a gurgum?" I asked humouring the fact that I actually could be whatever they we're saying I was.
"Giagm" Dylan laughed "Guy-Ag-Um"
"Okay, so how many Giagms are there?" I asked
"Nobody knows, in my 57 years on this earth you're the first I've met." Smiled Dylan as he patted me on my back like I was a trophy.
"You're 57?" I asked bewilderedly "You look like you're 20"
"You know how to make a guy feel special" he beamed at me "Sarah is has a more accurate age to her looks, she's 27, and Max is 90-something – I lost count" he could tell my `human' mind was struggling to process this "Don't worry, everything will be explained" he smiled
"And you said something about people trying to kill me?" I said tilting my head slightly desperate to find out more.
"Giagm and their guardians are hunted by humans-" explained Sarah.
"If you can even call them human" interjected Dylan "They've poked and prodded at their own DNA by sucking the life force out of Giagm and changing their self with it, they're more abominations than human and it's visually obvious, some have snouts, no eyes, wings – the lot." He continued "They brainwash the guardians to join their cause and they drain the Giagm- "his sentence was interrupted by Sarah slapping him on the knee. "Dylan! Don't scare the kid!" she shouted
"Well he needs to know, and he's not a kid, not after tomorrow anyway" he smiled at me, It took me a couple of seconds to realise that he was talking about my birthday, I'm 18. Sarah scoffed, she tried so hard to be in charge but Dylan was older, stronger and better looking – a bias opinion is still an opinion!
"If we as guardians do our job properly, then you'll have nothing to worry about" smiled Sarah, my head craning from her to Dylan every time each of them spoke.
"And my god I'm good at my job" Dylan said as he kissed his left bicep and smiled at me.
"Okay" I said trying to avoid staring at Dylan's hot body "you said Giagm are killed for their abilities? I'm pretty sure I've never done anything like this guy" I said as I pointed to Dylan who was now lightly licking his other bicep whilst making rather suggestive noises, I imagine he would've gone on for hours if it weren't for another strike from Sarah. I was half hoping for them to say "Really? Oops, wrong guy then, let me teleport you home."
"Your powers start to develop when you hit 18; some abominations can track you after you're 18 so we'll be moving around a lot most likely, that's one of the main reasons why you've managed to survive this long without guardians, and until you develop the more major powers we have to be at the top of our game to make sure you keep breathing" Dylan smiled. I decided it would probably best to lie down, so I did almost crushing Dylan's leg as I repositioned myself on the bed on my back; there was some movement on the bed I looked over to see Sarah budging Dylan to make room for her.
"So you're guardians" I asked still trying to catch up on everything.
"YOUR guardians" smiled Dylan.
"And you have abilities?" I continued, both smiled and looked at each other, Dylan nodded and stood up, there was flash of light and he was gone and a second after the flash of light returned, only behind me followed by a tap on my shoulder.
"We certainly do" Dylan smiled
"So what can I do" I asked – a little excited I must admit.
"We'll find out tomorrow when they develop" answered Dylan "but I must warn you, it'll be painful." Sarah rolled her eyes at how bad Dylan was at delivering important information but I could see he was genuinely concerned for me.
"Your powers are a lot different than ours, so we've been told" Sarah started "Guardians are known to have 1 or 2 powers and it's very rare for one to have three, whereas with you, you have no limits, none."
"So I'll be able to kick your ass?" I smiled at Dylan, before I could react, he had teleported on top of me holding my arms and legs down with his.
"So I guess I should make the most of tonight then" he smiled tauntingly, there was no way I was going to be able to push Dylan off, his body was incredibly heavy, I could feel his ripped abs brushing up against my stomach. Suddenly Dylan was hurled across the room.
"Pick on someone your own size Dyl" smiled Sarah. The next 30 minutes were spent by Dylan teleporting around, grabbing me, using me as a shield to stop Sarah using her telekinesis to throw him around then jumping at the chance to teleport to her and trip her up, which never worked, she might've been younger but boy she could put up a fight, I stood in the corner and watched as the two threw each other around whilst laughing uncontrollably, I kind of actually felt happy. They're epic fight was interrupted by the sound of a door opening and closing. Sarah and Dylan straightened, Sarah was the first to exit whilst Dylan teleported next to me and walked me to the door. A tall handsome person was stood in the doorframe, brushing his fingers through his jet-black hair with the most knee-melting smile on his face, but the most noticeable thing were his dark dilated eyes surrounded by a lightly shaded purple glow.
"Hi Jordan, I'm Max."
