Gregg Hammer
"When darkness covers the sun, there is still a light to save my soul; sent me an angle."
Part Three:
We all grabbed our things and got onto the gigantic inter-stellar shuttle. It was a 24-hour flight, at a velocity close to the speed of light, to the holiday/training resort/camp located on the small planet Voth. We gathered in the main foyer' of the shuttle, actually I was more and more thinking of it as a small starship, and I thought it best that I say something so no accidents' happened during the trip. "Ok guys, before you go to your rooms I have three rules that must be followed."
"Ahhhh" could be heard throughout the ship.
"Firstly don't cause trouble, if I have to get into any escape pod for any reason, hell will freeze over." They laughed a bit there. Tough crowd. "Secondly, get some sleep in the next couple of hours cause we're going to start training as soon as we get to the camp." One or two ahh's to that one. "And thirdly guys, have fun while you can."
"Yeaaaa!" They mostly all shouted as they rushed off towards their rooms, although I was glad to see that one or two of them caught the significance of what I said.
We were shown to rooms on the luxury shuttle, two to a room except for me. I had my own. Throwing my bag onto the double bed, I sat down at the small desk that the room provided and opened the folder that I had been given by Mrs. Greenstone.
First couple of pages was a list of the names and pictures of the twenty boys in the squad, along with the positions that they played or could play. Then there were a couple of pages about the history of the team blah blah blah... and then the previous coach's notes on each of the players. Tommy's was the first: Strong leader, really motivates the team in tight situations. The players respect him and do what he tells them to do. Off the rugby field though he keeps to himself a bit, or can be found with Lloyd...
Interesting. I decided that it was time to personally get to know each of the boys since I would partly be taking care of them for the next three months. O yea, they had been assigned a tutor who would meet us after the holidays in about a month and a half. I thought the best way to get to know them was to read the previous coaches notes on a boy and then go and speak to the boy himself. I found this to be most enjoyable. The first couple were easy to find, since they were still near their rooms, but as time past they spread throughout the shuttle making it quite hard to find the boys.
The first two I spoke to were a pair of very hansom twins. Anthony and Brendon. They weren't as beautiful as Tommy or Lloyd, but they would be turning my head often. Very often. The pair played inside and outside centers. Positions that the two filled perfectly. Big strong boys with an affinity for what the other was about to do. They were cheerful with a touch too much energy. Their short spiky blond hair seemed to emphasize the fact that given the chance they would gladly run circles round and tackle the opposition to the ground.
They sprung out the room as soon as I said they could go. I followed them for a bit until I saw Jonathan. Average of height for a twelve-year- old, but lots of bulk, which by the look of him was very little fat, on short sturdy legs. There was no guessing his position, prop. In no ways did I feel an attraction to him, but he looked like one of those players that people liked and could be depended on.
We talked for a bit, and he told me a bit on what he thought the team needed practice on. I said that we would be going through everything. I spoke to almost all the players before they started to drift back to their rooms, tired after some hectic play on the ship. The only two I hadn't spoken to were Tommy and Lloyd. I suppose you could say I was leaving the best for last.
I was in my room sitting at the desk, from the position that I was in I had a clear view of the hallway and so of the boys as they arrived back at their rooms. I was reading over Lloyd's report when Tommy came wandering into the room with a grin that caught my eye. He dragged a chair over to mine and then sat virtually in my lap saying nothing. I put an arm round his shoulders and he lent back into my chest. I smelt his hair and was rewarded with a clean boy-swet smell. Apparently they had been playing quite hard. "Had any fun?" I asked.
"Uh ha." He answered in an impish sort of way. "Like what?"
"We played arcade games, the woman wanted to charge us but then this man came and told her to let us play as much as we want."
"That's cool." He snuggled a bit closer. "And then we swam and played ruga-buga (wrestling game played in a shallow pool involving a ball), I think that's why everyone's so tired."
"Probably." I said finishing reading the report. "Aren't you tired?"
"A little bit... Gregg?" He said looking up at me. "Yea?"
"Did you like what we did at my house?" I started to smile as I realized what he was smiling at when he first came into the room.
"Well," I said trying to sound uninterested. I pretended to read over the report again... "Of cause I did!" I burst out. "Are you crazy enough to think I wouldn't!" I picked him up and gently threw him onto the big double bed and started tickling him. He tried to fight back but I was sitting on top of him, most of my weight on my knees but enough on him to stop him escaping. I was going to start covering him in kisses followed by an extended replay of what had done in his room.
His screaming must have alerted some of the other boys, for just as I was about to relent I was forcibly tackled off of Tommy and onto the floor. I had about a split second to recognize the twins smiling up at me before a whole horde of them jumped on me and started tickling me! As soon as I got a grip on one of them and started to tickle back, fifteen others would attack me on all sides, I even had about three balancing on my back. That coupled with the fact that I had a raging hard-on from sitting on Tommy It was soon apparent that it was losing battle for me.
I finally succumbed and cried my surrender, which they grudgingly accepted. I stood up with four of them still hanging to me. As one could expect the two-energizer twins were part of this. "Ok guys, I think it time for a couple of hours sleep."
"Ahhh." Came the chorus.
"No ahhh's. Half of you look like you're about to collapse under the weight of your eyelids." I had to laugh inwardly at this as an image of them suddenly collapsing at my feet entered my mind. Amazingly this was all it took to get them moving to their rooms, feet dragging with an even amount of yawns spread about the group. I didn't see Lloyd among them. "Tommy, you seen Lloyd about?" My answer was a half-spoken mumble into my pillow.
"I think he's still in the lounge area listening to his music or something." This was promptly followed by him burring his head deeper into the pillow, his earlier urges forgotten, at lest I hoped not. I shook my head and followed the twins out the room; they had given up on hanging on my back. I scooped them up in my arms and carried them to their room, which was located just next to mine. They were already half asleep when I gently placing them on a bed each. I couldn't help resist ruffling their hair a bit which I was rewarded with a smile from each.
Turning off their light (and on a sudden urge) I went back to my room and found Tommy sitting up on the bed. I went in closing the door behind me. "I thought that I had a tired twelve year old on my bed?"
"I thought you went to find Lloyd." He shot back. I jumped on the bed and pushed him onto his back beside me.
"Well then it seems that we're both got something else on our minds." I emphasized the `else' which brought a smile to those perfect lips. I chuckled a bit and lent in closer to him, and started to massage his chest with my hand. Thinking to steal a kiss I lent in closer and found his lips halfway up to meet mine.
Ever had one of those kisses were the moment isn't really important but the passion that flows between the two people is just so amazing that its... well... just amazing. Pulling up I found myself on top of him now, with most of my weight pinning him to the bed. He smiled up at me, "Gregg..." he almost whispered. By the raging hard-on that was pushing into me I thought I had a good idea of what he wanted.
"You want me to do what I did last time?" He nodded his head, which made me grin like I had been told the greatest news in the universe, which I had. He blushed profusely and I quickly kissed him again to save him from anymore embarrassment. I just loved his soft lips against mine, as well as massaging his small sweet tongue with mine, but he wanted me to massage something even better with my tongue.
He was wearing one of the shirts that I had said I liked; a dark blue button up thing that flowed like silk over his upper body. It was quit easy to undo the buttons at the same time as I made a path with my tongue and a few kisses until I reached his belly button. Sticking my tongue in I spent a moment or two there since he enjoyed it so much. He would giggle and make his stomach move up and down. It almost turned into an exciting little game but I had better things planed for him. Using my teeth I now nibbled down the rest of his stomach, but the button on his pants made me come short, it wouldn't budge. He started to giggle which was slightly annoying since it was at me trying to get his pants off and not from my tongue. I could feel his rock hard penis underneath the god-forsaken pants and so I finally ripped the unhelpful button free from the material. "Hey, that's on of my favorite pair of pants!"
"Well they were not helping." I said as I stuck my fingers under the elastic of his boxers and pulled both pants and boxers off. With his legs now over my shoulders I took in his nakedness. Leaning forward so his knees were now touching his chest (he was quite supple) I gave him another wet kiss before whispering in his ear. "Man you are so beautiful." If I thought he could blush before, I was totally wrong. He went as red as the stripes on his now discarded pants.
I quickly moved back down to his raging penis and took it into my mouth. He let out a groan that spurred me on more, sucking and massaging and a nibble here and there. Tommy was going as wild as I felt, bucking his hips to the rhythm my tongue made and groaning ever louder as my teeth brushed his sensitive head. On impulse I ran a finger between his cheeks as he bucked upwards and he jumped when I touched his tight hole.
I glanced up at him but his eyes were closed. Putting a bit of the saliva that had gathered on my boys penis onto my finger I continued. Using my teeth a bit I pulled up on his cock and he followed by bucking his hips. I slid my finger back onto his tight little hole. He didn't jump this time, but as I inserted my middle finger up to the first knuckle he gave out a cute little squeak. Pushing slowly in a little deeper while putting downward pressure on his penis I penetrated until I felt a little bump. He was moaning the whole time but when I touched his little prostate he groaned loudly and shoved his cock deeper into my mouth.
I started massaging his prostate and after a while and his bucking became frantic to the point that I stopped trying to do anything and let him shove his cock in and out of my mouth and my finger up and down his prostate. All too soon I felt him starting to tense up. I put a arm onto his stomach to stop his bucking and massaged my tongue around his head while pressing my finger hard against his willing prostate.
He came with a bang. His hole became a vise on my finger that kept it in place, and his moaning grew to almost a scream. His rock hard penis swelled and shot a stream of his sweet boy juice that kept on going. His orgasm felt like it lasted a full minute. His moan/scream was becoming frantic and I had to use quite a bit of strength to keep him down.
Trying to put an end to it I pulled my finger off his prostate and it worked. He gradually relaxed but still breathing deeply. "What did you do to me?" He finally said.
"Did you like it?" I replied a little unsure. He nodded his head. "It was so cool, I want you to do that every time."
"Your wish is my command master."
His face suddenly changed expression and a worried look flashed across his face. "What?" I said as worry stilled me. If I had done something wrong it would kill me.
"I think you should go speak to Lloyd now." He said a bit urgently. I didn't like this at all, but I thought it best if I did what he said.
"Fine fine, but it's not good to just tell someone to leave when they've been doing what we were." I turned to leave, but Tommy caught me in a hug around the waist. That lightened my mood a bit.
"I don't want you to leave Gregg, but you need to speak to Lloyd. Otherwise you might get fired and then we'd never see each other again." He knew how put an incentive to something you didn't want to do. "He's still in the lounge... probably."
"Ok fine." I took one last look at my boy kneeling on the bed totally starkers and went in search of Lloyd.
As Tommy had said I found him in the lounge area of the ship, totally oblivious to all as his headphones pumped their music into his head. There was a group of men sitting round a coffee table that were obviously annoyed by the faint `duff duff' of his music. He saw me as I approached, and I thought I saw a faint smile on his thin red lips before he turned his attention back to his music. I sat in the chair opposite to his, pulling it up close so our knees were almost touching
We stared at each other for a few moments and I thought `this is going to be a hard nut to crack'. I laughed inwardly at the pun, well he did look a bit crazy. But I guess I had seen worse, like myself when I went to a party his brother DJ'd at. I motioned for him to turn the music off, but he just looked at me. I could see in his eyes that he understood what I had meant. I reached for the player but he pulled it away, and with a stern look from me he turned the music off.
I was caught off guard for a sec, as I couldn't find the words to start a conversation with him. I felt a bit nervous looking at the boy knowing what I had just done with his best friend. I was somewhat saved by a voice to my left. "Me and the guys just want to thank you for getting this bloody kid to turn his music off." I turned my head so I could face him. A rather large well built man stood blocking the light. "And I'm sorry if you have nothing to do with it, but the person in charge of him and his friends should learn how to control them before I teach this one, or any of them a lesson." He turned away to go back to his two friends.
"Sucuse me sir," I said standing up. I couldn't believe the guy had actually threatened the boys. "Who the hell are you to threaten a kid, let alone tell me how I should handle him and his friends?" He had turned around and I walked right up to sticking my face in his. Ok, so I was being a little too aggressive but I had grown protective over them, not to mention the thought of what would happen to me if one of them got hurt.
Lloyd watched in fascination as Gregg got up and started arguing with the guy who had been annoyed with him most of the trip. It wasn't his fault that the guy and his friends seemed to be around whenever they did something fun. Before Gregg had arrived he had thought the guy and his friends would get serious with their threats when he wouldn't turn his music off.
The coach was pushing the guy backward with his chest now swearing in his face. Cool! He could use some of those words. The problem was that the guy was a lot bigger than Coach was. But then Coach had been in the army, and army guys were tough.
Lloyd actually liked the coach, he only gave the guy a hard time because he liked giving people a hard time. Tommy had told him to stop it, and so he would, if coach got out of this alive. The big guy was now backed up by his two friends. They were starting to shout at each other now which usually meant that there was going to be a fight. Lloyd had seen it often enough at his brother's gigs, and the guy who looked like he was going to get beaten up was the coach.
Lloyd was getting worried now, he didn't want the coach to get hurt! He liked the guy. He wasn't like the other coaches and adults that had taken care of him and his friends. Tommy liked him... a lot, and he would be angry if the coach got hurt cause of him. "Coach?... Coach..." Lloyd said somewhat worryingly.
Gregg turned his head to a somewhat scared little voice. He had only just enough reaction time to put his arms up as he saw the big brute swing a punch at him out of the corner of his eye. The blow connected with his forearms now at chest height and sent him flying a couple of meters across the room. As he had suspected, the brute was cyborge, no human arm could have sent him flying like that. By the look of it the arm that had hit him was totally artificial, probably most of his chest as well. Oldish technology by the sudden whirl sound of the motors just before he got hit.
Only one way to deal with his type. Gregg stood, to the amazement of everyone, gently pushing a distressed Lloyd who had run up to his fallen coach out the way. The brute's two friends had backed off thinking that their big friend could handle the smaller man; first mistake. "Come on you little shit, that's right, come for more punishment."
The brute swung at Gregg again, whirling motors and all. Gregg on the other hand was quick enough to dodge the swinging arm, grabbing hold of it as it passed the space where his head had been. Using the now extended arm as a lever Gregg shoved the man face down onto the ground. With his foot on the guys shoulder Gregg applied pressure down onto the now straining robotic arm.
"Sorry, I must be going deaf... what did you say to me?"
"Fuck you you little cunt!" Gregg reacted. The two friends, who were probably cyborgs as well, where moving in to help their fallen friend. Trained by the army to do a lot worse things, Gregg thought he let the brute off lightly as he suddenly increased the pressure on the arm and yanked. It came off nicely at the shoulder, the false skin ripping and sending fake pain impulses to the brain. As he had suspected it was very old technology, powerful but old.
I found myself back in my room, Lloyd had run in and turned the T.V show that Tommy was watching in his excitement and was busy now telling the story of what he had just witnessed. Now that the heat of the moment was draining from my body the images of what I had just done came flooding back into my memory. How could I have been so stupid, how did I become so angry? I never lost my temper like that before. Looking to the two boys sitting on the bed I had this unnerving feeling that I would do a lot worse to protect them.
A knock at the door brought me out of my thoughts. I got up and answered and opened the door. There stood the captain of the ship... he looked a bit familiar. "Everything has been sorted out Mr. Hammer, Mr. Hadway and his friends have been confined to their rooms for the remainder of the trip." The captain had seized on my side of the story, probably hadn't even spoken to Mr. Hadway I think he said his name was? "Hopefully there will be no more trouble for you and the boys." It helped when you were taking care of the son of the ships owner.
I thanked him and started to close the door, but he put his hand out to stop me and said. "There is a man here who asks permission to see you, It would seem that he is apparently in charge of the group that Mr. Hadway is in." `This should be interesting' I thought to myself.
"Show him in then captain." I turned to the boys, Tommy was looking at me a little strangely. I gave him a quick smile, and relief flooded through me as he returned it. I suppose that was one of the things I was worrying about. With my rash behavior I was thinking that it might scare him to know what I was capable of. Problem was I was still worried about why I had acted like I did. "Tommy, Lloyd,"
"Yes?" They said in union.
"This probably won't take long, but I'd appreciate it if you guys went to your room. I'll come by later and see how you're doing. Ok?" They said they didn't mind, but that I had better come and tell them what the man wanted. I promised and they left just as a man wearing a white robe came in. The captain excused himself and left the two of us alone.
"It's good to see you again Gregg." I struggled to recognize the oldish American Indian as he stood there looking at me. Slowly it dawned on me, the white robe was a contrast to the military uniform I remembered him in. He had grown his hair into a ponytail, but that hard angular face that had shouted its orders was as sharp as ever.
"Sargent True Blood," I had liked the man a long time ago when I met him in a training camp just before I joined my special forces unit. What he was doing here now and the thought that he might be with that brute put me on a bit of a edge. "It's good to see you again." I said a bit emotionless.
He quickly walked up to me and placed his hands on my shoulders. "What have you become that you rip a man's arm off at the slightest incident Gregg? What if my friend didn't have the advantages that probably saved his life?" I shrugged out of his grip on my shoulders and walked a few paces away from the man I had once called friend. It seemed that he was indeed part of the brute's party. I looked at him and associated my old friend with the Brute, a few seconds later a furious anger came over me coupled with a desire to stop the man before he could harm any of the boys.
True Blood must have seen this for he took a step back. Just as fast as the anger had risen it fled though. "I'm sorry," I said true-fully. "I don't know what came over me." I walked over to the drink cabinet and pored myself some juice. I didn't risk the affects of alcohol. An unnerving silence followed.
"It seems like yesterday that I was giving the orders, but now I'm the one who has to ask for an apology from a superior." I turned round, the question plain on my face. "Gregg, although I can not sense it, it is apparent from your display that you are changed."
"Although you can't sense it?" I asked.
"Just after you left the training camp I discovered that I had this `extra sense' you might call it. The army trained me a bit, but then I got a better offer. But that's not what I really want to talk about. Soon I think ..." He stopped abruptly and cocked his head over to one side. "I thought so. Gregg how well do you know these children you are so aggressively protecting." He smiled as he finished talking and then added. "Maybe I've already answered my question. What do you think Gregg?" True Blood was starting to freak me out. He seemed to have changed a whole lot since the last time I saw him. The True Blood I knew would never have let on to what he was thinking, he was a man of few words and plenty of action. Not a man to ponder his own words.
That little question about how well I knew the team and sparked off another wave of anger. True Blood saw and I thought I saw a slight nod of his head. On will alone I managed to keep the anger out of my voice as I said. "I think it's time you left." He nodded and started towards the door. "And True Blood," He stopped and looked at me. "I'll be checking that the captains orders are followed. If you or your men are seen out of your rooms before we leave this ship I will not hold my anger as I have now." He nodded and then walked out the room.
As soon as I lost sight of him my anger died in a flash. I shook my head at the way things had changed. A year or two ago no one in their right minds who knew Sargent True Blood would threaten him. Why, once in combat I had seen the man lift a guy up by the neck and throw him against a wall minus his jugular... I suddenly heard a `gasp' and I swung round. No one there, or in the room for that matter.
A thought came to me as I remembered True Blood's comment on his seventh sense. I rushed to the door and was immediately hit with a desire to go to sleep. Struggling to keep my eyes open I laughed out loud, a thing I do when I'm faced with a tough situation, and wrenched the door open. A mission in itself when you're about to fall on your face.
I didn't know where to start my search so I picked the closest room. The desire to just collapse on the floor and fall into a blissful slumber was almost overpowering now, but somehow through will alone I reached the door and shouldered it open, not that I expected it to be blocked, more like I needed the support to keep standing.
The room was crowded with the whole team packed into the twin's room. Most of them looked up at me with shock on their faces, fright evident in their eyes. They all sat in a circle round the twins who sat cross-legged on the ground, one hand of each clasped by the mirror image opposite him. Their eyes closed with sweat dripping from their faces they looked like they were trying to play with someone's mind. Ha! `Gigs up Dudes.' I thought.
Slowly they opened their eyes, looked at each other for a few seconds and then unclasped their hands. The desire to fall to the floor vanished, although I did feel a bit tired.
"How'd you do that?" The twins asked in perfect union.
"First you tell me how you guys were doing that to me." My voice was calm and almost wisperish. I suppose I was just so bewildered to feel any emotion.
"He's not feeling anything." Came a somewhat strangled voice from somewhere in the corner. I had to laugh at the situation I faced, and my apparent hysteria set the boys somewhat at ease. But it was time to get things sorted out.
"All of you," I said with a bit of firmness. "Get to your rooms now and wait for me." They looked a bit shocked at my switch in moods and just sat there staring. "Now!" I said raising my voice a little more. A mad rush ensued as the boys ran out of the room and to their own one's. I was glad to see that I didn't have to tell Tommy to stay behind with the twins.
As soon as I closed the door behind the last to leave I was almost pulled to the ground by Tommy. He had rushed up and was in the process of wrapping his arms around my neck and his legs around my waist. "Gregg please don't be angry with them they were only doing what I told them to do." He then proceeded to kiss me on the lips. "Cause if you're angry with them it's the same as being angry with me."
"Tommy!" I said a bit bewildered first looking into his beautiful eyes and then at the twins.
"They already know. They know everything that goes on around them."
`Is this so?' I thought to no one in particular.
"We can only read your thoughts when we're linked." One of the twins said as I looked at them.
"Right." Was all I could say.
"Gregg I'm sorry I made them do it." He looked at me with pleading eyes that just melted what little anger I might have had, or probably would have for the next couple of moments. Then he would just probably look at me again. I carried him over to one of the beds and sat him down. He still had those eyes of his drilling into me, I think he knew what effect they had on me.
"Why don't you tell me exactly what you told them to do." I looked at the twins still sitting on the floor, they looked a bit scared stiff. I smiled reassuringly, only it had no effect.
Tommy, with his head now bowed, started telling his story. "After you left me in your room to go find Lloyd, I came here. Anthony and Brendon had told me that Lloyd might be in trouble, and we listened in on what was happening."
"How?" I interjected. Tommy looked at me like it was the most obvious answer in the world.
"Cause they're telepaths." My suspicions were now solidified. Stories and interviews with prominent scientists had been flying around the news stations lately about all these special kids' popping up. But as one scientist had put it, mutations in humanity have not just started popping all of a sudden. There are detailed records of such cases dating all the way back to when humans first started to populate planets other than Earth. They are just more prominent now due to the fact that the human race has grown experientially.
Tommy started talking again since I wasn't saying anything. "They told me what was being said, also what that guy was saying about Lloyd and how he threatened all of us. I was so angry, so I told them to make you angry." There was a comic that put the situation into perspective. It was first published in the 20C, the X-Men. One of its main story lines is how the team of men and women with special abilities struggle to be accepted by the rest of humanity. Well finally that simple comic was coming true, some of humanity was beginning to change, and most of the rest couldn't accept. It was very like the situation with cyborgs.
I must have been thinking for some time for Tommy wasn't talking any more and all three boys we looking at me. The twins still looked as scared as ever, probably thinking, hoping that I wasn't one of those people that didn't accept.
"Tommy," I finally said. " I was already very angry and what you did made me rip a man's arm off." His head was now in his hands. It was plainly obvious that he was hurt. "Even though he kinda deserved it." I saw his slight smile and sat down next to him. "I suppose its safe to say all those times rage almost blinded me it was you telling the dudes here." He nodded his head.
The conversation carried on like this for about another hour as Tommy filled me in on all there was to be filled in on with the team. The twins realized as time passed that I was actually quite cool about this whole thing and loosened up enough to come and sit beside Tommy and me, filling in what Tommy left out.
All in all there were only a couple of the boys who had special abilities. The twins who were powerful telepaths, or telapath should I say since they could only use this power when they were linked. Sky, the boy who had told everyone that I wasn't feeling anything was an empath. Tyler, who played wing on the team, got these feelings about what was about to happen. And then there was Jonathan, the prop, who apparently could burst out with incredible strength once in a while. The rest of the boys had been chosen for their combined extraordinary intelligence and physical qualities. Some group. The rugby had been started purely as a team building exercise, but they had turned out to be pretty good, and at the insistence of Tommy and a few of the others the team turned professional. The competition was to be their first major set of games.
"Can we go to sleep now?" One of the twins asked brining me out of a thinking session. I couldn't tell which one. I would have to get to know how to tell them apart.
"I think that would be best." I got up and started to ruffle their hair, but all of a sudden I knelt down and gave them a big bear hug, one in each arm. I don't know what made me do it, probably to reassure them that I wouldn't let them down or anything, maybe to remind myself that these incredibly powerful beings were really only boys and not evil mutants plotting up evil plans.
Putting them down again I made sure that they got into bed and tucked them in, probably trying to reassure myself by making sure they were apart. I walked to the door with Tommy in tow. Turning out the light I took a step and then the ship stopped.
Here ends part three... part four coming sooner that part three... I promise. Comments to gregg_hammer@hotmail.com
