Christian was nearly done packing his clothes into his suitcase when he heard his mother's faint voice cry out from inside the living room. Christian dropped what he was doing and attended to his mom's calls to see what the emergency was. "Yes?" Christian appeared in the rooms archway, looking across the room at his mom sitting on the couch with a photo album spilling over her lap. "Come look at these," she smiled with out lifting her eyes from the photos. Christian sat down as his mother gingerly handed him a picture of the family at the beach, asking, "do you remember that?" "Yeah. It was our summer break from school. That's the first time dad ever took us out of Jersey. Why?" "Well, we all look like a happy family but I sometimes wonder if we could've kept those smiles through out the years. Have you ever wondered what would've happened if your father and I hadn't gotten a divorce?" "Yeah, sometimes, I guess. Why didn't you and dad just go to counseling like everyone else?" "Christian, your father and I had always had our problems even if you and your sisters couldn't tell. We constantly found things to argue about but I want you to know that we never fought about you or your sisters." Christian looked his mom directly in the eyes and listened. "We decided to split up because it would be best for everyone. It had nothing to do with any of you. We both still love you." Christian nod gradually and handed the picture back to his mom so she could put it away. She knew he felt a tremendous weight on his back ever since the divorce and she wanted to make sure he wasn't feeling that way anymore. It was something Christian needed to hear since he had carried the burden of the divorce on his shoulders for the entire time and it was starting to take it's toll on him and his relationships. "What ever you're dealing with now, what ever brings you sadness or pain, get rid of it or else you'll be dealing with that plague further down the road. Make yourself happy and surround yourself with people who bring your life joy and then worry about others." "I will." Jake brought Christian happiness, real happiness, that he hadn't felt in a long time. He did love Randy but Jake was much too important for him to leave behind. They had a short history together and sense of security that was still unmatched by anyone else. Randy provided the stability but Jake provided everything else; the love, the sex, and the joy.

Randy and Ashley waited patiently outside of the airplane runway to catch the first glimpse of Christian as he stepped out from the plane. It wasn't long before he walked down with his bags on hand, a smile appearing on his face as soon as he saw the two familiar faces waiting for him. Ashley ran up to Christian and wrapped her small arms around his neck, whimpering happily into his ear. Christian hugged back and looked over at Randy who was standing at a distance with his hands on his hips and a smile on the corner of his face. Ashley let go of the tight grip she had on Christian and watched as Randy moved in next to greet his friend with an equally choking bear hug. "How was it?" Ashley asked. "Really good. I got to see everyone again," Christian huffed. "Are you ready to go home?" Randy asked next, "I have a surprise waiting for you." "A surprise?" Christian wondered. "What is it?" "You'll see," Randy smirked. They load the bags into Ashley's car and drove to Christian's apartment to get him settle in again and rest after the long weekend that had rushed by.
Everything was as Christian had expected. Even though it was a short time away from the hectic Los Angeles life, Christian expected some sort of change to happen, and as he would later find out, a BIG change did and will occur in his life. The three rushed up to Christian's apartment number and swung the door open only to be horrified by what was inside, or rather, what wasn't inside. The entire place was empty. Nothing but windows and walls were left standing. The carpet's indentation showed the couch and television stand that once stood there. The only thing in the kitchen was the stove and a few empty boxers sitting on the counter top. Even the bedroom was completely bare. Christian thought he had been robbed and even thought Randy and Ashley were playing some cruel prank on him but, unfortunately, that wasn't the case. "Where's all my stuff?" Christian asked irrationally. "Surprise!" Randy giggled. "Randy, where's all my shit?" "It's all in our new place." "What? OUR new place?" "I had some people come over and we moved all your stuff into my house. I want you to move in with me." Christian was floored by Randy's confession. He was angry and surprised and even a little let down. "Randy, you can't just come in and take my things. This is the surprise you wanted to give me?" Ashley stood back and watched Christian dig into Randy like a teacher yelling at his students for bad behavior. "Well, yeah." Randy smiled. "The manager just let you take my stuff and go?" "Well I told him what I wanted to do and after a little while he agreed. He even waved the week notice." "Why didn't anyone call me?" Christian looked around at the empty walls. "Because it was going to be a surprise," Randy replied. "Yeah, I get that." "To be fair, I did help move some of the stuff out, Christian." Ashley confessed. "Well why doesn't anyone tell me these things?" "If you hate it that much then I can get all your stuff back but I just thought we were ready to make the jump into this. I guess I was wrong." Randy yelled back, crossing his arms across his chest in defiance. Christian sighed a long sigh of exhaustion and finally gave in, "I don't hate it, Randy but this is a big jump for me. I come home and everything missing, how else should I react?" "So, what? You're not moving in?" "Well, do I have a choice? My stuff is gone. I guess we can give it a shot." Christian was skeptical but went along with it since he was too tired to argue anymore. Why such a drastic change? Was Randy really wanting to give Christian a surprise that he would enjoy or just butter him up for something to come? The real explanation could only be found by looking into the past.
After Randy's one night stand with that man from the bar, he began to think about ways to slowly make Christian move back into his life for good. He had other friends who were in relationships and didn't move into a serious position until asking their loved ones to move in and share a home. He decided to do the same and had movers at the complex as soon as possible. But, the move wasn't only to win Christian back, it was also to keep Jake at a distance. With Christian out of the complex, Jake would go to visit and only find empty rooms with no one around. It couldn't have been a better idea. What toped the whole thing off was the fact that, along with a new home, Randy had also bought Christian an updated cell phone to later give to him as an act of appreciation. That way, it would be a new number Jake would never have, loosing all type of connection with Christian. After a while, the two would lose touch and forget about each other, or so Randy thought.
Ashley pulled in Randy's driveway and shut the car off. Excitedly, Randy flew out from the passenger side and opened Christian's door to let him out into the cool air. The three walked up to the front door with Randy leading the way and waited patiently while Randy turned the key inside the doorknob. Christian stood back with Ashley, giving her glances that signaled an uneasy impatience he was suddenly feeling in his stomach. Ashley only smiled and shook his hand, assuring him everything would be well. "Come on in." Randy stood aside and allowed Christian the path. "Welcome home." The inside of the house was exactly as it always was with the exception of some of Chris' things scattered around the place. Even Sargent called the place home as he was seen running around in the backyard through the wide open glass doors leading to the outdoors. He had made the best of it so why not Christian? "Your clothes and shoes are already in the bedroom so there's no need to worry about that." Randy spoke proudly. He watched Christian closely, trying to solve the puzzled look in his eyes. He knew Christian wasn't as exultant as he was supposed to be but by this time, Randy didn't really care. He was just glad to have Christian further and further away from Jake.

Jake was excited to leave his house and finally see Christian in person once again. Ever since the e-mail had arrived on his computer, he couldn't help but imagine how this day would play out. He had ran the scenario over and over in his head, replaying it like a home movie he had become very familiar with. Through out all the excitement, Jake had skipped breakfast and moved out of the house to walk around the neighborhood; killing the precious time he had left until Chris settled into his apartment. Before he knew it, an hour had dashed by and Jake was through with waiting. He got onto the main road and eagerly walked in the direction of Christian's apartment, wishing the next step would bring him directly to the apartment door. Jake walked up the walkway into the main building and turned the corner to yield the elevator in the middle of shutting it's doors. His heart pumped faster and his palms became moist with anticipation. It would only be a matter of seconds before Jake was at the door with "213" plastered on it. Before knocking, Jake tugged at his shirt and ran a hand through his hair, making sure it was all in place then proceeded to make a fist and knock. "Chris! It's Jake," he spoke into the door and knocked again. "Chris!" No answer. He looked down at his watch, thinking he had gotten there to early but it was already half passed eleven. Jake walked back down to the front desk and looked at the oversized clock ticking above the woman's head. It was only 11:37 A.M. like his watch had said. "Excuse me," Jake began. "Did a guy come in yesterday with a bunch of luggage?" "This IS an apartment complex, sir." The woman sarcastically replied. "Well this person was away for the weekend, he arrived yesterday afternoon. I was just trying to make sure he was already here." "I'm sorry but there's no way to tell. Have you tried calling up to the room?" "I was just up there and no one came to the door." "I can call up to make sure." The woman smiled. "What's the apartment number?" "213," Jake replied. "Okay." The woman picked up the tan phone on her desk and held it to her ear. "Oh, wait, 213? That apartment is no longer in use. The owner withdrew their lease and moved out." Jake's heart sank to the pit of his stomach. He couldn't do anything but stand completely still. It was as if time froze at that exact moment. "There's gotta be some mistake. Can you call up to make sure?" Jake insisted nervously. "Sure." The woman punched the numbers on the receiver and waited while Jake leaned down on the counter with his hands locked together under him. "Nothing. Sorry." "Okay, thank you." Jake turned around and walked out into the bright day. "What the hell is going on?" He asked himself. "Why would he move out of his apartment if he was away?" So many questions and not one single answer to any of them. Halfway down the sidewalk, Jake realized he had his phone in his front pocket and, thinking he could get a hold of Christian through his cell phone, he would be able to find out what was really going on. Jake scroll down the list of names and numbers in his phonebook until coming up Christian. With the name highlighted, he pushed the green "SEND" button and placed the phone over his right ear. "We're sorry. The number you have dialed is unavailable. Please hang up and try again." The mechanical, feminine voice said. Jake dialed once again, making sure to punch in the correct buttons but, once again, the robotic woman came over the line. There was nothing else he could do except try and go see if Christian was anywhere inside the theatre where he worked. Thinking more and more about it, Jake became confident that he'll find Christian there since they would have some sort of information on him even if no one else did. The theatre was semi full, just as it always was during the middle of the day. Only several cars were parked out in the parking lot but none resembled that of Christian's. It was strange but Jake chose to walk inside anyways. There was no one around who looked like they could help him, no one except Randy who was just coming out of one of the show rooms with a broom and dustpan in one hand. Jake wanted to turn back and leave when he saw Randy but if he wanted to find Christian, he was going to suck up his pride and go ask Randy if he knew anything. The steps leading up to Randy were the longest he had ever taken. He didn't feel like talking to Randy, let alone ask for his help. "Randy?" Jake put on a fake smile. Randy looked up and saw Jake glancing down at him with a crooked grin melting away from his face. "Yeah?" "Hey. Is Christian around here?" "Why?" Randy put up his guards. "I just...I need to talk to him." "No, he's not working today but if you want I can pass off a message." "Is he coming in tomorrow?" "Yeah, he should be." Randy looked around nervously. "Alright. Thanks," and with that, Jake turned around to exit the theatre. He was defeated and there was no way to ease the pressure in his stomach. After two days of waiting patiently for Christian to come home and hopefully start their real relationship, there was now another road block in front of them. Jake became distraught and walked home with heavy feet and his hands tucked into his pockets. He wasn't only upset at Christian for lying in the e-mail but also at himself for believing it. As soon as Jake was gone, Randy walked to his friend who was working the register and asked for Christian. She let him know Chris was in the back room stocking the napkins and straws by himself. Randy put down what was in his hands and went to see Christian. "Hey," Randy said upon opening the door into the storage room. "Hey, what's up?" Christian replied, taking down a big of straws from the top shelf. "I was thinking, what do you think if we both take the day off tomorrow and go somewhere. We can take the car out and grab some lunch and hit the beach. It's been really nice out lately. What do you think?" "Take the day off to go to the beach?" "It'll be nice." "Alright. I guess I can do that." "Good." Randy took Christian by the waist and planted a kiss behind his left ear before disappearing from the room again.
Nearly a week had gone by and neither Christian or Jake have had luck finding each other. With his new phone, Christian was unable to call Jake because of Randy's right to look through his "recent calls" list and work had become to overwhelming to leave behind. It wasn't until a walk in the park with Sargent that Chris was able to call the Gyllenhaal home using a pay phone near the corner of the street. The phone rang two times and someone answered quietly. "Hello?" "Maggie? It's Christian." "Hi Chris, what's up?" Maggie sounded as happy as she always did. "Is Jake anywhere around?" "No. He's not. Sorry. Do you want to leave a message for him?" "Yeah, can you tell him to meet me at the Barrington Dog Park at around eight tonight?" Christian asked while Sargent fought to move forward. "Yeah. I'll tell him." "Thanks. Bye." With that, Christian hung up and continued walking his dog.
The entire place was dark, resembling a scene from an old horror movie as Christian stood by his car near the back of the park where it was a bit more secluded. He had left Randy at home only a few minutes earlier while he went out to "get a few things." It wasn't long before a pair of bright headlights drove into the park parking lot, illuminating the green grass and trees. Christian watched as a man got out and stood near his black SUV. Thinking it would be Jake, Christian waved the man over and continued waiting in the dark. As expected, it was Jake who was jogging over, happy to finally see Christian up close. "Hi," smiled Christian. Jake came up and took Chris' face in his hands, lodging a kiss on Christian's cold mouth. With out saying a word, Christian wrapped his arms around Jake's back and pressed himself harder into Jake, wanting to feel every muscle in his body pressed against him. The kiss lasted longer than a few minutes. Slowly, Jake eased his way in between Christian's thighs and pinned him back onto the hood of the car, franticly depositing kisses on the nape of his neck. "Let's go to my house," Jake huffed into Christian's ear. "I don't have a lot of time." Christian replied half heartedly. "Then come with me into my truck." Jake yanked on Chris' shirt and together, they walked across the dimly lit grass of the dog park, looking around at their surroundings to make sure they weren't being watched. As soon as they hit the back seat, Jake ripped off his shirt and leaped onto Christian's waiting lap. It had been only four days since they've last talked but it felt more like a lifetime. Christian lay back against the passenger door and spread his legs out over the long seat. Jake pulled Christian's t-shirt over his head and tossed it to the front along with the mangled pairs of jeans and socks, both stripping in the restricted amount of space available to them. Jake brushed his hand along Christian's neck and chest while they were mingled in a deep lip lock, Christian clawed at Jake's hair, feeling the wet tongue slithering in between his lips. He instantly became stiff from the sensation Jake's hips were giving his groin, slowly grinding the underside of their erection together. "Four days of hell," Jake hissed. "I know." Christian matched the sentiment and instantly began sucking on Jake's jaw. Jake tilt his head to the side and swallowed hard, gripping his fingers around the two dicks pressed firmly together, stroking them as if they were one matching organ. Jake pushed Christian back and lift himself slightly, hovering above the dripping hard on smacking against his inner thigh. He took the tip of the penis and aimed it up into his willing asshole, slowly letting himself stretch open wide enough to allow for smooth penetration. "Fuck!" whispered Jake, tightening his eyes and biting down on his bottom lip. Christian tilt his head back and enjoyed the goose bumps exploding over his body as he felt Jake's ass engulf his prick. With one hand, Chris reached up and tweaked Jake's left nipple and rubbed the strong chest it lay on. Rising and falling in a gradual manner. Hissing and awing. Gasping and kissing. Jake was in ecstasy just as his eyes connect with that of Christian's. Together they stayed in a rhythmic motion, enjoying each other's bodies fully. Christian groped Jake's backside and legs, tacking in the smell of sex mixed with natural body odor too arousing to go on unnoticed. Jake took Christian's hands from his chest and pushed them back over his head, making sure Chris' was completely his and willing to accept being the weak one during sex. Christian fought for his dominant position, wrestling Jake, placing his bands behind his back but Jake wasn't giving up. With one last thrust, Jake took control again and slammed Christian's hands onto the window behind his head. Jake smiled wickedly and leaned down to bite Christian's earlobe. With one hand holding Christian's wrists together, Jake took his free hand and seized his hardened penis, pumping furiously right in front of Chris' face. After several minutes of thrusting his fist up and down on his dick, Jake leaned forward a bit and began shooting white ropes across on Christian's heaving chest. He even managed to squirt a little bit on his chin, leaving for a messy cleanup. Not wanting to waste anything, Jake tightened his sphincter and bent down, cleaning away the milky white fluid with his tongue, scooping it up and transferring it in between Christian's lips. They shared in the taste of semen and saliva while Christian buck his hips upward, slapping his balls against Jake's bridge. "Ahh!" Christian sighed steadily, "How's that feel? Good?" "Yeah," Jake huffed hot breaths of air onto Christian's neck while his asshole was being pounded open. "I'm going to cum!" Christian panicked. Jake let Christian free and quickly spread apart his legs then settled in between them, setting a moist finger into Christian's warm anus. Christian wiggled a bit and his legs became tense, shooting load after load of fresh semen onto his panting stomach. Jake hooked his finger while inside and pressed against Christian's prostate to help make the orgasm ten times more exciting. A trick he had learned after several nights of being alone. Christian arched his back dangerously high and as he slowly came down from having Jake's finger knuckle deep inside of him, his orgasm sending an outburst of chills through out his body. After both were finished having sex, Jake slid out from inside Christian's asshole and wiped off the soaking fluids swimming around their skin before taking a seat with his back pressed against Chris' chest. Both were still filled with an exhilarating rush of testosterone and excitement even though their bodies were worn out an exhausted. Christian was still trying to catch his breath when Jake laid his head on his jaw and asked, "Have you already talked to Randy?" Christian wrapped his arms around Jake's chest, fingering the slightly hairy area around his areola, regretfully replying, "Not yet." "What about the email? You said you would do it when you got back. It's been a week." "I know, I know. Some stuff happened when I got back here and I haven't found the right time yet." "More excuses." Jake sounded defeated in his response. "I'll tell him." "Were you planning on telling me you had moved or did I have to find out on my own?" Christian scoffed and said, "I didn't even know I had moved." "What do you mean?" "I got home from Jersey and realized Randy had taken all my shit out of the apartment and took it to his place. He thought it would make for a good `welcome home' surprise." "Wait, you guys are living together?" Jake sat up and turned to face Christian, sending him an unyielding stare. "Well it wasn't my idea. I felt bad because he went through all that and I just went off on him. Sometimes I think it's better to die alone that way you have no drama in your life. You die happy, no one to answer to, no worrying about hurting anyone's feelings. Just you answering to yourself." Jake laid back on top of Christian and ran his fingers up and down the pair of naked legs under him. "That's such a lonely life." "Yeah. Anyways, I better get going. I told you-know-who I'd be back soon." "Make him wait. I had to." Christian ran a hand down Jake's chest and entertained himself on the trail of hair leading to the trimmed patch surrounding Jake's limp penis. The two spent another several minutes together, huddled closely together in the back seat of the SUV, swapping kisses and tender strokes one last time before getting dressed and leaving the remote path separately.
Christian arrived home late and found Randy in the living room with his feet bolstered on the small coffee table in front of the televisions screen. His eyes were glued to the TV while he sipped on a short glass filled with ice and liquor. "Where were you?" Randy demanded. "Visiting some friends. I'm going to bed. I'm tired." Christian walked up to the bedroom he shared with the drunk in the living room and shut the door. It wasn't long before Randy joined him underneath the bed sheets, lending a good night kiss on Christian's cheek before turning over to nap.
