House Chpt. 8

It was a quiet Tuesday afternoon as House sat in his office and watched one of his favorite TV shows on the ratty old television set. He mindlessly put gobs of yogurt in his mouth and watched the TV with no sense that there was a man outside his glass doors.

The man put down his package and knocked on the door. The sound of the man brought House out of his trance. He saw the man and a large cardboard box next to his feet. He immediately grabbed his cane and started limping towards the door to aide the delivery man. He opened the door while the man bent down to get the package back.

"I'm sorry about that." House said taking full advantage of the view of the man's ass, perfectly accentuated by his short short uniform bottoms.

"It's no problem." The man returned flashing House a smile and a beautiful collection of teeth.

The man made his way into the office, holding the box in his arms. He placed it on the silver table that the team of doctors often use for speculating diagnoses. House held the door open for the man to come back, stealing a glance at the man's whole body for the first time. It was apparent that the man's line of work had contributed to his now godly physique.

"I have a delivery for a Dr. James Wilson." He read of a piece of paper, probably a receipt, that he threw down into his pocket. "I was sent by a woman who said I might be able to find him in this room." He finished.

"He is not available at this moment, but I am willing to sign for it. We wouldn't want those legs to stop for too long." House said looking at the man's legs and admiring what fate had put in front him.

"That won't be necessary, sir." The deliveryman, whose nametag read ^ÖRyan-, chuckling and blushed by the flirtatious comment.

"Why is that?" House said, twirling his cane and making the young man's eyes follow.

"There is another part to this order. I will be back tomorrow to complete it." He said looking into House's crystal blue eyes.

"Well in that case, I will let Dr. Wilson know that his orders are arriving." House said.

"Thank you for your time." The man said heading for the door. He left and silence filled the room once again.

House sat back down and continued to watch television while eating the now warm yogurt. Time had passed and Wilson did not return to the room. He assumed that he was still tending to one of his cancer-ridden patients and thought it would be best if he did not interrupt. He turned off the television and thought about his next move. He turned his head and saw the brown box and quickly turned away. He wanted to respect Wilson's property but curiosity was getting the best. He decided to call and see exactly what Wilson was up to.

He shuffled for his phone in his suit jacket pocket and placed it on the desk. He keyed in the numbers, waited and listened to the rings.

"Hello?" Wilson said already knowing who it was. Although he was busy he did enjoy the thought that House was somewhat missing him.

"Yeah, your husband left something for you." House said staring at the package that was sent by the Lost actor, Matthew Fox. Only the two men knew what exactly went on in the hospital room, but House suspected it was good to send a man you only just met a gift.

"I wish you wouldn't call him that." Wilson laughed, holding up a finger to signal the woman to wait one moment. "What else do you want? You usually wouldn't call for something that small." He finished, pretending to write something on the woman's medical chart.

"Can I open it? It is calling my name." House said pointing his cane at the box, trying to block it out his sight but to no avail.

"Sure, go ahead." Wilson said knowing that the package couldn't have held anything of any real value to him.

"Okay. Bye." He hung and started to motion toward the box. Wilson turned back to his patient and started apologizing for the interference.

"Who was that, your mother?" She asked in a quiet voice. "Worse. My wife." Wilson said unable to stop smiling.

Another thirty minutes passed and Wilson made his entrance into House's office. He was greeted by the sight of House eating a box of treats and the chocolate all over House's mouth. He walked over to the man, licked his own thumb and proceeded to clean the corners of House's lips. For thanks House flashed him a smile full of chocolate cover teeth.

"Very nice." He said taking one of the chocolates for himself.

"I try." House said getting up and leading Wilson to the package.

"You missed the UPS guy, who delivered it." House pointed out.

"Hot?"

"Oh yeah." House said remembering the perfect specimen.

"1 to 10." Wilson said curious.

"8.5" House thought for a moment before giving his answer. "You can be the judge he said he was bringing the rest of the order tomorrow."

"This box was for a carton of chocolate?" Wilson asked noticing how large the package really was.

"I think there is more. I wanted to leave some joy for you." House said, smacking Wilson's ass and taking a seat to watch him open the gifts.

Wilson took out another box inside the packaged and started to open it. He reached inside and grabbed for its contents. He pulled out a large teddy bear dressed as a doctor, complete with a small note pad and stethoscope. The chrome nameplate of the bear read "Dr. Wilson."

"Wow. Maybe this guy has been trapped on an island and `mysteriously' forgot his age." House said examining the gift. "I mean where are the red roses?" House finished.

"It is a little childish, but cute." Wilson replied looking at the gift and admiring the thought and time that must have went in to it.

"What else?"

Wilson went in and took out the final box that was in the package. It was the wider than the chocolate set and shorter than the stuffed animal. He opened and brought out a beautiful bottle of wine. The name read Montrachet 1978 from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Wilson read the label and watched House almost fall out his seat.

"Holy shit!" House said unable to hold his composure.

"What's wrong with it?" Wilson said trying to figure out what was going on.

"That particular wine goes for 24,000 dollars a bottle."

Wilson nearly dropped it from the news. He couldn't believe a man would spend this amount of money on him. He was positive this wasn't okay and that this simple crush was becoming something more for one of them. He didn't want anyone to get hurt.

"I have to send it back." Wilson said placing the wine bottle back in its package.

"Like hell you will." House replied.

"House it is clear that this man has strong feelings for me. Why, I don't know, but I don't want anybody to get hurt in this." He said scared of the possible outcomes this situation could spawn.

"Oh stop being so melodramatic for a moment and live. If he didn't want you to have it he wouldn't have sent it. Yes, he is attracted to you so what is wrong? He is like one of those male animals who is showing off for the female to pick him." House said flailing his arms for emphasis.

"What is wrong? I am with you, or did you forget? Wilson said now angry with House. "What happens when I tell him I'm in love with you and he has already spent thousand of dollars on someone he thought was available, knowing I had the chance to say no from the beginning."

"We'll figure it out, okay." House said holding Wilson's hand seeing how much this was screwing up his nerves.

"I'll be right back. I have to run to the bathroom." Wilson said and excused himself from the room. House returned to his desk and examined the wine over and over. He was surprised that this guy was spending large amounts of money for a handjob and better yet showing him up as a boyfriend. House turned the mute setting of the TV and continued to watch while he waited for Wilson. He heard yet another knock on the door and turned to see an unsuspected guest. It was Matthew.

House got up and opened the door and welcomed the handsome man into his office. Matthew was dressed in a crisp, nice business suit and looked like he was ready to win an Emmy. House shook the man's hand and prepared for introductions.

"Hi. I am Matthew." The actor said with an easy smile.

"I'm Dr. House, it is nice to meet you." House replied.

"I was looking for a Dr. James Wilson. I was told he could be found here." Matthew said looking around the laid back doctor's office.

"Yeah, a lot of people are hearing that today. He actually just stepped out if you care to sit he should be back any second." House said pointing to one of his chairs. "How is your chest?" He asked.

"Fine actually. Thanks for asking." He replied placing a hand on his body for reassurance. Before the two men could venture into more conversation they were joined by Dr. Wilson.

"Hi." Matthew said standing up and looking like a teen who was picking up a date for the prom.

"Hi. What are you doing here?" Wilson said looking surprised. Matthew Wilson was the last man he was expecting to see.

"Well, I saw Ryan, the delivery guy, in the parking lot and told him that I was going to personally give you the other part of the shipment." He answered.

"Damn it." House said, causing both men to look at him. "Oh, sorry." He said ready to listen to the rest of the conversation.

"I see you got my gifts." He said pointing his car keys at the bear, box of chocolate, and wine all on House's desk. He turned and smiled back at Wilson.

"Yeah, about that^Å" Wilson said scratching but was interrupted.

"James, if they made you uncomfortable^Å" He said approaching Wilson, but it was Wilson's turn to cut off.

"No, it is not that. I'm just figuring out why you are doing this. I mean all I did was do my job." He said looking at his feet.

"Well you were extremely nice and made me feel good." He said lowering his voice and placing a hand on Wilson's shoulder making the doctor meet his gaze.

"For that reason," he announced backing up so both men could hear "I am giving you this." He finished by handing the doctor a red envelope tied with gold ribbons. Wilson looked puzzled and House moved a little closer to the pair.

"Open it." The actor said still smiling from pure pleasure from seeing the man he could not stop thinking about.Wilson slowly untied the ribbon and opened the card. He took a few moments to really look at what was presented to him.

"Well." House said itching with anticipation.

"What exactly are they?" Wilson asked still unable to comprehend the gift.

"There tickets. Like backstage passes for the show. I want both of you to come," he said turning back to House, "you two get to watch a complete show get filmed for a day, hang out and eat with the cast, maybe see inside some of the actors trailers." He finished and nudged Wilson.

"When?" asked House excited about the opportunity. He would love to go to a set and relax for a while. "It's next week." He answered.

"Great, we'll there." Said Wilson happy that he and House would be able to attend.

"Well, I have to get going. It was nice meeting you, Dr. House. I will talk to you later James." With that he was gone.

Both House and Wilson sat down to absorb what had just happened. Wilson grabbed the bear and looked at it more and more. He then noticed something he hadn't before. On the animals note pad was a phone number. Under the seven digits read: Matthew Fox.

*** The next chapter will be the season finale. Not the last entry, just the season finale. If you have any suggestions on where you would like the story to go, please feel free to email your tips. I have an idea of what I want to do, but I open to new ideas from any of avid readers.***
