I wanna know what love is Chp 7

"Um...ok" Jules said hesitantly.

"You know I'm not one to get involved in Christian's business unless it's really important" Connor said. "I didn't like what he did to you before and that's why I told you about him cheating. You were a cool guy and I got along with you, and I never get along with Christian's boyfriends"

"Ok, so what are you saying?" Jules asked, trying to make Connor get to the point.

"Well...did Christian tell you he was applying to West Point after high school?"

"Yeah he did, and it looks like he has a good shot, his grade point average is near perfect and him being in ROTC should help also"

"Yes, well he needs something more. He needs a recommendation from someone high ranking in the military or someone who is ex-military and has good standing"

"Ok?" Jules asked getting impatient with the conversation.

"Oh fuck it; I'll just get to the point. The only reason he's trying to get back with you is so that you can get your father; who is ex-military and graduated from West Point to write him a recommendation"

There was a pause, Connor wanted to make sure Jules understood what he was telling him. He let it sink in for a moment before realizing that Connor was telling the truth and there was no need to question him further on it, Connor was never the type to lie especially about something as serious as this, Jules was just shocked.

"I should have known, I told myself that I was just going to use him for company and not get too caught up with him again, but I didn't see this coming"

"What do you mean just use him for company?"

"It's nothing, seriously"

"C'mon Jules, he may be my best friend but we're friends too, you can trust me"

"It's just that I've been very lonely lately, even with all my friends around. Christian was starting to fill that void"

"You could have called me you know" Connor said.

"I didn't want it to be awkward between you and Christian if he found out that you were hanging out with me, plus you have a boyfriend and that just wouldn't be right"

"Well I'm not dating anyone right now" he chuckled "So don't worry about it, we should hang out sometime"

"Ok how about this Saturday, my friends and I are having a BBQ at my house with my dad and some of his employees, why don't you come by" Jules said.

"Um...your dad, um...I hear he's kind of scary" he stammered, Jules tried to stifle a laugh.

"Don't worry about my dad, he'll be cool. Just be here by eleven and bring swim trunks"

"Ok will do"

"And Connor?"

"Yeah?"

"Thanks for telling me about Christian"

"Yeah sure, what are you going to do about?" Connor asked.

"Oh I'm sure you'll hear about it after it happens" Jules said with a smirk before saying goodbye and getting off the phone. The wheels in his head were already turning; he was tired of being walked on and mistreated by people. It was time for him to start showing people what he was truly capable of and he was going to start with Christian.

The next afternoon Christian was planning on taking Jules out to lunch, what he didn't know was that Jules had other plans for him. The Southern California weather was still warm as Halloween approached; Jules was dressed in a pair of Hurley board shorts with a matching t-shirt, hat and a pair of flip flops. He grabbed his keys and phone and headed for the door as Christian honked from the rounded driveway.

"I thought I'd drive us to lunch today" Jules said.

"Sure, if you want to" Christian said a little hesitantly.

"I do, I'm treating you to lunch and it's a surprise where I'm taking you"

"Cool" Christian said with a smile as he got out his truck and walked over to Jules's Range Rover. The made idle chit chat as Jules drove to the freeway and headed south on highway 91 towards Newport Beach. They drove almost two hours until the freeway ended and merged into the Pacific Coast Highway. Jules crossed over PCH and onto the surface streets and headed towards Ruby's, a restaurant at the end of a very long pier off the shore of the Pacific Ocean.

"We haven't been here since we first started dating" Christian said. "I know, this was our favorite place to go so I figured why not visit it again"

Christian grabbed Jules hand and walked the long pier to the entrance of the restaurant. They ordered burgers, fries and milkshakes and talked as they watched the boats sail pass and fisherman cast their lines off the side of the pier. They ate their lunch while laughing and flirting with each other, and Christian didn't having a clue on what was really about to happen. They finished their lunch, and after Jules paid; made their way to the very edge of the pier to gaze at the ocean and talk.

"Thanks for the surprise lunch babe, it was great" Christian said as he leaned in and kissed Jules softly on the lips.

"Oh, it was my pleasure honestly" Jules said, with the best fake smile he could muster "let me see your phone, I wanna take a picture of you with the ocean behind you" Christian handed over his phone and allowed Jules to take a picture of him, after doing so Jules put Christian's phone in his own pocket.

"Can I have my phone back babe?" Christian asked.

"In a second, I wanna play true or false. I ask you a few questions and if I get the right answers you can have your phone back" he said coyly "so first question Mr. Anderson, do you know you're a douche bag?'

"Wha...what?" he asked shocked

"Answer the question Christian; do you know that you're a douche bag?"

"Um...false"

"Wrong...True, I'm sure you're aware of how much of a douche you are"

"What the fuck are you getting at Jules?"

"Second question" he continued "true or false; do you really know how bad you've fucked up?"

"False" Christian said confused.

"Correct, I guess you wouldn't fully grasp the fucked up situation you are now in"

"Babe, what's going on? I thought we were having a good time"

"Just one last question Christian. True or false; did you only come around and want to get back with me so I could get my dad to write you a recommendation to West Point?" He was stuck and his jaw hit the floor as his secret mission was let out of the bag.

"The fucked up thing is Christian that if you were honest from the jump, I would have helped you, instead you led me on at a time when I was very vulnerable, but your mistake was thinking that you could get away with your lies. You didn't get away with cheating and you're not getting away with this, another mistake of yours was assuming I was weak like I was before" Jules said as he took Christian's phone out of his pocket and threw it into the ocean.

"What the fuck is your problem?" Christian screamed as he grabbed Jules by the wrist. Jules planted a firm knee to his balls and watched as Christian dropped to the ground groaning in pain. With a smile on his face, Jules turned and left Christian on the pier. He walked to his Range Rover and made the two hour drive home alone without any care as to Christian's well being.

After arriving home, he spent the rest of the day hanging out alone with his dad, something that they haven't had a lot of chances to do. Stellan rented a few movies while Jules fried some chicken wings and made a large salad. They enjoyed each other's company as they ate their dinner and watched two very bloody action movies. Jules fell asleep before the last movie was over so Stellan carried him up the large flight of stairs to his room, he was surprised he could still carry his 16 year old son like he was little baby, he wasn't sure if it was because Jules was so small or if it was because Stellan was so big. He tucked him in, set his alarm for school next morning and went downstairs to bed.

At about two in the morning Jules started violently thrashing around in his bed, whimpering and crying. After a few minutes his whimpers turned into loud cries and then to all out screams. He woke up with a jolt and realized he was in darkness, he couldn't see anything and didn't recognize where he was.

He started to scream again but his chest got tight and his breathing became labored. He started feeling around the bed for anything or anyone familiar, but couldn't find what he was looking for. He started to freak out more, and the more he freaked out the more his breathing became labored.

"Damian?" he tried to call out but no one answered. He tried to move his legs but they were caught up in the sheets on his bed and that sent him into an all out panic. He started screaming for help the best way he could and was scared that no one could hear him. He shuffled from his bed and hit the floor with a hard thud. He cried out in pain but realized his legs were free.

He still didn't know where he was and panicking even more, he tried to stand but his legs were too wobbly. He crawled around trying to get his bearings; he reached a glass door hidden behind some shades. He pulled the shades to the side and recognized his private balcony that faced his backyard. He reached up to the door knob and opened the door and crawled out onto the balcony, he let the fresh air hit his face as he curled up into a ball and tried to steady his breathing.

Once he was calm, he became angry that no one came to help him when he was screaming. He slowly stood up, still very weak on his legs and walked into his room, he turned on the lights and realized Damian wasn't there and then remembered he had gone home already. His dad couldn't hear him due to soundproofing, so he was truly alone. He turned on the lamp on his desk and climbed back into bed and cried himself to sleep.

Jules woke up with a huge headache and remembered falling and hitting the floor last night. Thinking about the whole ordeal depressed him so he tried to put it out of his head. He took a long hot shower to awaken and refresh him for his first day back at school since being attacked.

After grabbing his book bag, and heading for the garage. He walked to his SUV but stopped short in front of the car that was covered with a weatherproof tarp, it was his mother's Bentley Coupe. His father gave it to her as a birthday gift and she only drove it to church or on special occasions, she called it her other baby. It had sat covered and untouched since her passing. Jules needed a bit of confidence to go through the mess that he was going to face at school, so with an idea in his head he pulled the tarp off his mother's car.

"Holy shit, the Bentley" Aiden said as slid down into the front seat.

"I needed a good luck charm" he replied with a grin "Where's Amy?"

"She's with her boyfriend; they have been inseparable since you set them up"

"See, I knew I was a good matchmaker. Now if I can find you a girl you'll be set"

"Find me a girl?"

"Yes you, I haven't seen you with a girlfriend for a while now"

"I don't need a girlfriend" Aiden said stone faced.

"Why not?" Jules asked "because of the groupie tramps that follow you around? They are nothing more then a quick piece of ass and you deserve someone better than that"

"And what about you, don't you deserve someone better then Christian?"

"I'm not with Christian" he answered "I think I'm destined to be alone, so that's what I'm going to be for the time being, alone"

Aiden found himself without words again; he wondered why he couldn't tell Jules about his true feelings. They were very close and could talk about almost anything except this, and now Jules just told him that he wanted to be alone for a while. Aiden was starting to feel slowly defeated and he didn't know what to do about it.

They pulled into the school's parking lot and after making plans to meet after school, they went their separate ways. Jules headed towards his and DeMarco's usual meeting spot. He entered the halls and was met with murmurs and stares, he tried to ignore them but it started to become very noticeable. Jules started to feel another panic attack coming on, his chest started to tighten and his vision became a little blurry. He lowered his head and tried to rush to the nearest bathroom but was stopped by DeMarco.

"It's ok kiddo" he said as he put his arm across his shoulder and led him to their first period. The rest of the day was like that, everyone would point and stare but to Jules's surprise no one actually said anything to him. There was no calling him names or shoving him into walls or tripping him in the bathroom, most people followed Joshua's lead but all they did today was stare and whisper.

After third period was lunch, Jules and DeMarco made their way down to the cafeteria to meet up with Amy. They all sat down with their lunch when Amy noticed that a lot of the students in the cafeteria were whispering and staring in their direction. It started to irritate her and she screamed that it was rude to stare, causing a bunch of the students to turn their eyes to a different direction. Jules got a kick out of Amy's outburst, he was uncomfortable with the staring and whispering but could always count on Amy to make him laugh at a bad situation.

While they we eating lunch and taking about the up-coming bbq at Jules's that weekend, a girl who he recognized as the student council vice-president, walked over and said hello to the group.

"I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you Jules, how are you doing?"

"I'm doing ok thanks; your name is Corrine right?"

"Yes"

"Well thanks again Corrine"

"No problem, I'm just glad Joshua is gone from this school. My brother is gay and a freshman here and Joshua beat him up during the first week of school but we were too scared to do anything about it"

"That sucks, is you brother ok?"

"Yeah, he's a terribly shy person and usually hides out during school. There are a lot of students who are glad Joshua West is gone, no one really cared about Jacob but Joshua was hated by a lot of kids and when you dropped them in the hallway, everyone was extremely shocked that you had the guts to do it and were very proud"

"Wow, I knew he messed with other kids but I didn't know it was that bad"

"It was" she said "don't be surprised if more of the student body will suddenly become nicer to you, but you should still watch out for Joshua's girlfriend Stacey. She's on the student council with me and is an evil bitch, I don't know what it is but she is planning revenge so be careful"

"Oh really? Well thanks for the heads up"

"My pleasure" she said with a smile and walked back to the table where her friends were sitting. Jules turned back around and noticed that Amy had left the table. He looked around the cafeteria and she was no where to be seen but had left her back pack. DeMarco was just as confused about her disappearance but they decided to wait a few minutes to see if she returned. There was a loud commotion and raised voices coming from the girl's restroom that's right off the cafeteria; Jules recognized one of the voices immediately as he and DeMarco ran over to see what the problem was.

"That faggot deserved to die, Joshua doesn't deserve to be in jail" Stacey yelled in Amy's face.

"Your douche bag boyfriend raped and almost killed him; he deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life"

"He didn't rape him; he wouldn't touch that sick queer he just held him down while his brother did it"

"You're a fucking idiot Stacey, I've seen the video tape, I was in the hospital and I was at the court house. Your brother did exactly what the newspaper said he did"

"Well I bet the sick fag liked it, I bet he wanted it and I bet he gave my Joshy aids. He should rot in hell and I'm gonna make sure he gets there with the rest of you fag loving freaks" Stacey seethed. That was enough for Amy, she grabbed Stacey by the shirt collar and punched her several times in the stomach, and she collapsed to the ground trying to catch her breath. One of Stacey's friends ran at Amy but DeMarco stepped into the bathroom and broke up the fight and pulled Amy out of their.

They walked back to the table while school security walked into the cafeteria to see what the problem was; Stacey started screaming that she was attacked by Amy. Security came to the table that they were sitting at and started asking questions about what happened, but before Amy could answer; Corrine stepped up and said that nothing happened and that Stacey was just trying to start trouble because her boyfriend is going to prison. They security guard asked if anyone else has seen anything and everyone replied that nothing happened, they took Stacey with them and left the cafeteria. Corrine looked over at the table and gave the group a wave and a wink, then went back to her friends.

The rest of the week went mostly the same way; there were a lot of stares and whispers. They still unnerved Jules and he had to keep his breathing steady and his mind clear so he wouldn't have another panic attack, other than that things were ok, even a few students Jules would never have spoken to said hello to him as they passed in the halls. He didn't know what to make of the sudden change of certain people towards him, but thought he wouldn't question it.

Vice-Principal Kripke told Jules if he had any problems with any students to see him and he would take care of it. He was caught up in all his classes and returned to his fourth period elective working in the attendance office; he even managed to see Corrine a few times and smiled at her pleasant demeanor.

Friday during lunch, Jules drove home to grab some basketball shorts and his running shoes; he wanted to run a few laps around the track after school while he was waiting for Aiden to finish football practice. Jules returned to school just as the bell rang for the start of fourth period, he was a little late as he ran through the empty halls towards the attendance office.

He turned a corner and headed for the double doors that led to the main courtyard leading to the office when he saw the figure of huge senior towering over the cowering body of a boy slumped on the floor crying. The senior had the boy cornered between and door and the wall and wouldn't let him get up, he was ordering the boy to do something but Jules couldn't hear what. As Jules stepped closer, the senior kicked the boy hard in the side.

"Hey" Jules yelled "What the fuck are you doing?"

"None of your business" the senior said as he turned to notice Jules "Oh another trouble making fag" as he turned, Jules realized it was Joshua's best friend and lackey John Fairbanks "Wait there cock sucker and when I'm done with him, I'll tend to you"

Jules ran over and wedged himself between John and the other boy who was still on the floor.

"Or if you want, I can kick you ass first" John said.

"You may think you're gonna kick my ass" Jules said "but don't forget that I took out both Jacob and Joshua in a matter of seconds and I'd drop you in less time"

John was surprised by the stance Jules was taking, he was usually very timid. John sneered and pulled his fist back to punch him in the face. Jules pushed John back to give him some space then swept up his knee with his right foot, John fell hard on his side and smacked his head on the ground. Jules stepped closer and gave him one good kick in the stomach for good measure. "I'm tired of this violence" he thought to himself as he turned back to the boy on the floor. He was crying and was curled into a ball, Jules tried to lift him up but the boy tensed at the touch.

"It's ok" Jules said "he's not going to hurt you, let me help you to the nurse"

As the boy turned his face to look at him, Jules stopped dead in his tracks. His eyes were a beautiful blue and they started to burn holes into Jules as they stared at him. He helped the boy up to his feet; he winced in pain and grabbed his side as he stood. Jules took his hand and put his arm around the boy's waist and walked him out the doors and directly into the nurse's office. Jules sat him down on the nurses table and began to walk out the room as the nurse looked him over but the boy wouldn't let go of his hand, Jules looked in the boy's eyes and then sat down next to him, not letting go of his hand.

As the boy was being looked over by the nurse, Jules took in his appearance. He was slightly taller then Jules and just as thin, he had sandy blonde hair that covered his ears and was kind of shaggy, he had pouty lips and those soul searching blue eyes that Jules would never be able to forget for the rest of his life. When the nurse was finished, she told the two boys to wait there until vice-principal Kripke came.

"Are you ok?" Jules asked

The boy nodded.

"I'm Jules by the way"

"I know who you are" the boy said in a voice so low Jules almost couldn't hear him "I'm Caden...Caden Stallworth"

"You're Corrine's brother" Jules said looking at the boy.

He nodded.

"What did John want from you?"

"Nothing in particular, he and that other boy Joshua have been beating me up since the beginning of the year, but John started giving it to me worse after Joshua went to jail"

"I'm sorry" Jules said still looking Caden in his eyes "I didn't mean for this to happen to you" Caden gave Jules a confused look; he didn't know why he was apologizing.

"Did they really do that to you?" he asked Jules.

"Yes"

Caden gave Jules's hand a squeeze. They talked a bit more about the bullying Caden had been facing and how he hides out between periods and during lunch so he wouldn't be harassed, Jules felt really bad for Caden and wondered if this is how his friends felt towards him. He told Caden that he shouldn't hide and to start having lunch with him. Just then vice-principal Kripke walked in and noticed the two boys holding hands, a smile came across his face as a noticed Jules taking an interest in Caden's well-being.

Mr. Kripke was the vice-principal in charge of discipline and was fully aware of the bullying the both Caden and Jules had endured. He was doing his best to get rid of bullying all together but in a school that was so full of hate at every turn for every reason, he was depressed that he was barely putting a dent in the problem.

He asked the boys what happened and they both told Mr. Kripke their version of the story. He gave Caden a pass to class and dismissed him only after Jules gave Caden his cell phone number and told him to call him if he ever needed to talk or wanted to hang out. Mr. Kripke kept Jules back to talk to him for a moment.

"How are you doing Jules?" he asked "Are you ok enough to begin lessons again?"

"Yes, the doctor said I'm fully capable to start training again"

"Good, because there is a tournament right after Christmas and I would like you to enter"

"Sounds good to me"

"I'm glad you were there to help Caden" Mr. Kripke said "he is very shy like you are, or like you used to be" he said with a grin "but he isn't lucky enough to have friends like you do but maybe after today that will change" he gave Jules a knowing look.

"Yes Sifu, I think that will change" Jules said as he got up to leave the nurses office, Mr. Kripke stopped him.

"I have a favor to ask Jules" he said as Jules turned to face him "as you know my nephew moved in with me during the summer and is now a student here"

"Yeah, I've heard but I've never met him"

"He's very low-key" Mr. Kripke chuckled "he's having some problems in a couple of his classes and I was wondering if you could tutor him after school, I will give you extra credit for it even though I doubt you need it"

"Sure, no problem. Give him my number and have him call me to set it up"

Mr. Kripke thanked him and they both walked out of the nurse's office.

(Author's Note)

I'm sorry for my delay in posting this chapter, I was really sick with food poisoning and had to stay in the hospital a few days...all better now. So about this chapter; it looks like Christian finally got what was coming to him, but will that be the last we see of him? I dunno and what about his best friend coming to hang out with Jules, could there be something more to come there? Maybe and trust me when I say Connor is cute. This for certain wont be the last time Jules has a run in with John Fairbanks...and readers, tell me what you thought about the introduction of Caden.

Thanks again for all the emails, it gives me fuel to write more.
