====================================== If I Ain't Got You -- Chapter 3 by JT Poole

// Orlando -- Justin's Hotel //

"Hello, may I speak to Jackson?" Justin spoke into the phone.

"Jackson isn't here right now, this is Kendall. Can I help you?" The man asked.

"Ah no, no I will try to reach him later." Justin stated.

"Okay, would you like to leave a message?" Kendall asked.

"Ah, just tell him that Justin called." Justin stated. "Thanks. Bye."

"I will tell him." Kendall stated. "Have a nice day."

"Well that was a bust. I guess I will just go shower and make the best of this day." Justin stated, walking into the bathroom, as there was a knock at the door. "Who could that possibly be? Who's there?"

"Delivery for Mr. Timberlake." The voice stated.

"I didn't order anything, and no one should be delivering anything to me." Justin stated, opening the door to see the hotel bellboy with a handful of roses and a giant teddy bear. "Hi."

"Hello sir. All of this just arrived for you." The bellboy stated.

"Who from?" Justin asked, helping the bellboy bring all the things into the room.

"Here's the card sir." The bellboy stated, handing Justin the card that came along with everything. "You have a nice day sir."

"You too. Wait." Justin stated, reaching into his pocket and pulling out money. "Here you go. Thanks for lugging all this stuff up here."

"Thanks sir. It was no problem." The bellboy stated.

"You're welcome." Justin stated as the bellboy walked out and closed the door. "Wonder where all this stuff came from?"

--- Contents of the Card ---

Justin baby I know you are mad with me and I know I hurt you very badly, but please give me another chance. I love you very very much and I can't see myself living without you. I know I screwed up, but I love you more than you ever know. Please baby give me another chance.

Josh.

--- End Card Contents ---

"Why won't he just leave me alone? He betrayed my trust for him and our love. We will never be able to be together again." Justin stated as he went into the bathroom, started the shower and got under the water as he slid down the wall of the stall crying.

// Back in NY at Nick's Townhouse //

"Good morning sunshine." Kevin stated, walking into the room with a tray of food and juice for Nick.

"Good morning Kevin." Nick stated.

"I hope you slept well, regardless of the current situation." Kevin stated, sitting on the edge of the bed next to Nick.

"I am not going back Kevin. I'm sorry, I just don't want to be around anyone." Nick stated.

"I know you don't Nicky, but Jane and Robert want you home just like everyone else." Kevin stated.

"Well I just can't face them right now." Nick stated.

"Why not?" Kevin asked.

"Because Aaron and Mom tried to warn me that I was falling for him, and I lied to dad over and over that I wasn't even seeing him." Nick stated.

"Nicky what are you saying?" Kevin asked.

"Dad suspects that I am gay, but I haven't actually told him yet." Nick stated.

"But Jane and the others know?" Kevin asked, with a confused look on his face.

"Well yeah, but I swore them all to secrecy about my sexuality." Nick stated. "He only suspects because he have heard some off the wall comments from other sources, but until I tell him it doesn't matter to him."

"When are you going to tell him Nicky?" Kevin asked.

"I don't know, but right now isn't the time for me to be around. If I was there now I would only make things worse." Nick stated, tears falling slowly from his eyes.

"That isn't true Nicky. They all love you very much. They all want you home." Kevin stated. "I am quite sure that Robert already knows the truth about you being gay."

"No he doesn't." Nick stated.

"Would it be so bad for him to know? Everyone else knows." Kevin stated.

"Yes it would. You know how he feels about gay people." Nick stated.

"He wouldn't feel that way towards you, he would still love you Nicky." Kevin stated, hugging Nick. "Come on, we need to get ready to go."

"No Kevin, I am not going." Nick stated.

"Look Nicholas, you are going. You are going even if I have to drag you kicking and screaming." Kevin stated, getting up off the bed. "Now eat your breakfast and go get ready."

"You can't make me go Kevin." Nick stated.

"I am not going to make you go, you are going to go on your own rather you like it or not. Everything doesn't revolve around you. For the last couple of weeks it's been you you you, well now it's time for you to go home and stop being a spoiled brat." Kevin stated, walking out of the room and slamming the door behind him as he left.

// Orlando -- JC's House //

"What did you call me here for?" The guy asked.

"Because of you, I have lost him forever!" JC screamed.

"That wasn't my fault. You were the one that pursued me. I didn't run behind you. You were the one in control of everything." The guy stated.

"You lead me on." JC stated.

"I did no such thing." The man stated.

"Yes you did. You told me that if I devoted more time to you, you would make it worth my time. All I have gotten from you was crap!" JC screamed. "I fucked up a good thing just for twenty minutes of sex."

"Twenty minutes? You know we have gone longer than that and you know it." The guy stated.

"Whatever!" JC screamed. "I hate you! I wish I never laid eyes on you!"

"No you don't hate me. You love me. If you didn't love me, you wouldn't have dropped Justin for me." The man stated. "You know you love me, there' s no ifs ands or buts about it, you love me plain and simple."

"I don't love you! I love Justin!" JC screamed.

"No you don't love Justin, you love me. If you didn't love me, you wouldn't be wasting time right now. You know you want us to go upstairs and fuck, just admit it." The man stated.

"No! You will never touch me again!" JC screamed. "Get out! I never want to see you again!"

"I will leave now, but I guarantee you will come running back to me." The man stated.

"I will never go back to you Dan! I hope you die and root in hell!" JC screamed again. "Now get out!"

// Someplace in Orlando //

"Honey someone named Justin called for you." Kendall stated, handing Jackson the message. "Who's Justin?"

"Just someone I met at the bar last night. The kid was so drunk that I drove him home." Jackson stated.

"Oh?" Kendall asked. "What was so special about this kid Jackson?"

"Nothing. Why?" Jackson asked.

"Do you normally take your customers home when they are drunk and then have them call for you the next morning?" Kendall asked.

"Baby it's not what you think." Jackson stated.

"Then what is it then? What do I think it is that it isn't?" Kendall asked.

"Between me and you, and no one else, you have to promise me that you won't breathe another word of this when I tell you." Jackson stated.

"What is it Jackson?" Kendall asked.

"Promise me baby." Jackson stated.

"Oh alright. I promise I won't tell anyone else. What happened?" Kendall asked.

"Last night, Justin Timberlake came into the bar last night. When I got ready to close up he was still there and he was really drunk. I am talking about really drunk, to the point that he has passed out twice and he kept making passes at me." Jackson explained.

"And?" Kendall asked, getting an angry look on his face.

"And I took him back to his hotel, made sure that he was okay and I called a taxi, went back to the bar, got my car, and come home baby." Jackson explained.

"I don't believe that." Kendall stated.

"Well believe it baby. He was out of it so I took him back to his hotel to keep him from driving and killing himself and possibly someone else." Jackson stated.

"Okay." Kendall stated. "Then why is he calling you this morning?"

"I left him a letter telling him that if he ever wanted to talk about whatever that caused him to drink like that, that I would be around to listen." Jackson stated.

"So I guess he's in the talking mood now." Kendall stated. "He didn't leave a number or anything, he said he would call back later."

"Baby please don't be mad, nothing happened." Jackson stated.

"Okay baby." Kendall stated.

"No it isn't okay. I know that look. You are miffed." Jackson stated.

"No I am not. You have explained to me what happen. I take your word. If I didn't trust you, then we couldn't have a stable relationship. I am going shopping, I will be back later." Kendall stated as he walked out of the room with tears in his eyes.

// Jamestown, NY -- The Airport //

"Are you happy now?" Nick asked, sitting next to Kevin, as the two of them sat in the VIP Lounge waiting for their plane to be called.

"Yes I am happy and I am quite sure the rest of your family will be happy too when we get there." Kevin stated.

"Well when we get there I am going in my room and not coming out until it's all over." Nick stated.

"What's all over?" Kevin asked.

"Just forget I said that." Nick stated, turning away from Kevin. "It doesn 't matter."

"Nicky talk to me." Kevin stated, grabbing Nick by the arm. "Anything that you do matters to me."

"Whatever Kevin. If I matter, you would have left me alone when I asked you to." Nick stated, yanking his arm away from Kevin and walking to the other side of the room.

"Stop this Nicky. You know you are one of my best friends in the world. I can't...don't want to see you in pain like this. I know you got hurt, but let it go and find something else that helps you forget that hurt." Kevin stated.

"There isn't anything else. I have nothing, nothing at all." Nick stated, running into the bathroom as Kevin ran in behind him. "Leave me alone Kevin, just let me be."

"That's not true Nicky. That's not true at all. You have me, your family and the rest of the guys." Kevin stated, walking to the stall where Nick was.

"Just go away Kev, leave me alone." Nick stated.

"No Nicky, I will not leave you alone. They are calling our flight let's go." Kevin stated as he waited for Nick to come out of the bathroom stall.

// 20 Minutes Later -- Aboard the Plane //

"Where are you going?" Kevin asked.

"Damn I am going to the bathroom. Do you want to come with me so you can shake it too?" Nick asked, looking at Kevin with a mean look on his face.

"No I don't. You don't have to be so rude you know." Kevin stated.

"I am not being rude. This is me now. If you can't deal with it, you should have left me where I was." Nick stated, walking away towards the bathroom.

"Hello sir, is there something I can get you?" The flight attendant asked.

"No thank you." Nick stated, walking past the young man, continuing on to the bathroom.

Nick walked into the bathroom, made sure the door was locked and preceded to take off his jacket. Sitting on the top of the small hand basin, Nick rolled up his shirtsleeve and then searched around in his jacket pocket for something. Finding what he was looking for, Nick held a small razor in his hand.

"I am alone now and I can finally do what I need to do." Nick stated turning the water on. "I know this is wrong, but I need to end my pain. I' m sorry, I am really sorry. I just can't go on like this."

As Nick said those last words, he used the razor to slit both of his wrists as he bled in the sink.
