A small child ran importantly though the clean, modern decorated hall into a room whose walls were laden with posters of popular bands, celebrities, jets, and pictures of family. The small girl seemingly all too familiar with the territory worked her way through the labryrinth of clothes, books, and magazines scattered among the cello and numerous sheet music all over the floor. Good thing the warm, bright rays of the sun penetrated through the thin curtains veiling the wide window or else she would've been tripping everywhere without the hands of the sun to guide her.
Finally, she obtained her objective of reaching the bed. There lay a young man tangled up in his pillows, blanket and sheets snoring ever so lightly. The little devilish child had a plan to get this lazy guy up from his bed. With a impish smile forming slightly, she searced for the tool with which whe would wake up the young man- a box of tissues on the bed-side table. She took a single tissue and rolled it up into a thin spiral and already she was giggling softly, imagining the result of her ingenious plan. She slowly reached over to the dark-haired teen careful not to wake him before the culmination of her plan and instantly shoved the tissue all the way into one of the teen's nostrils. At that moment the teen's eyes shot open, his hands reaching for the culprit, and the young girl screamed at the top of her lungs and ran recklessly out the room, leaving Kellen in a fit of sneezing and watery eyes. . "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM," yelled Kellen at the top of his lungs, his voice raspy from yelling after just waking up so early. "Francesca SNEEZE stuck a tissue up SNEEZE my nose!"
A minute later his mom was in his doorway giggling with his sister at the red, and sneezing sight on the unruly bed.
"Serves you right, young man. I've been yelling for you to wake up since 6:30! Now look. It's already 7:01! Open up those gray eyes! They could use some sun! Get up, use the restroom, brush your teeth, fix that hair of yours, go downstairs, eat your breakfast on the table quickly, get in the car, and we'll leave for school," Mrs. Willoughby ordered sternly.
"OK, OK... I'm moving mom. You know... you don't have to tell me everything I have to do... Now, um, could you please get out so I can get ready..." pleaded the sleep-deprived teen- if having 10 hours of sleep could be called lacking.
His mom shut the door and let her son get to work. Kellen shoved away his blanket and quickly stood up only in his underwear trying to steady himself on his bed post. He stumbled through his stuff sxattered on the floor towards the bathroom. He used the restroom and brushed his teeth. He saw some phlegm on his chest from the tissue incident and he washed it off with a face towel soaked with some warm water and soap that he used to wipe his face.
"Hmmmmmm... This feels really good..." he thought to himself, still wiping his chest, eyes shut. He opened his eyes and looked into the mirror and discovered that the soapy water was running down his abdomen and onto his gray boxers.
"Crap. I just changed it last night too..." he mumbled under his breath.
He dried himself and ran into his room newly invigorated from the washing he gave himself. He slipped of his boxers and hopped to his stash of clean underwear in his drawers, took one and slipped it on and snapped the garter it against his fair skin. He cringed a little after the garter snapped against more sensitive skin. He straightened out his underwear, pulled on a long-sleeved shirt, dark jeans, and a pair of socks. He ran down the stairs holding onto the railing to keep hime from slipping and breaking his neck. He slid into the kitchen, kissed his mom on the cheek, and proceeded to chomp down his breakfast.
His mom was already at the door when he finished. He threw the paper plate into the trash and the silverware into the sink and he grabbed his backpack, slipped on some shoes, and ran out, closing the door behind him. He ran in the car and they drove off to his first day at school. Sitting beside him was the devilish girl, his sister, playing with some pink toy or somesuch. He rubbed her head on looked onward excitement rushing through his body about the first day of school.
"Honey, do you have everything? Do you have your pencils, note-"
"Yes, mom. I have everything. No need to worry," Kellen interrupted his mom from listing his supplies again.
"OK, then. Just making sure you ready for your first day of school. I think we'll make it on time. It's only 7:24 right now..." Kellen's mom said idley.
It was a miracle that Kellen's mom of 47, CEO of some huge company, still had time for her two children. Kellen was thankful his mom wasn't that worked obsessed mom like in the movies he's seen. But when she wasn't at home he'd put Francesca to bed and he'd listen to music or make music, read, watch t.v., clean the place up, or work out a little in his room.
After a few minutes of reminicsing on what his days were like that summer, he was finally at the front of his school. He sighed deeply, kissed his busy mom goodbye, hugged his siste rquickly but tightly, then got out the car and started his first day of his senior year at 17. He saw lots of familiar faces around the courtyard. He greeted some of them but nobody really minded him. He took out his schedule and looked at his first class. It was AP Calculus. So it was AP Calc, AP Economics, AP English IV, AP Chemistry, then thankfully Band/Orchestra as his last period.
"Great... the first class of everyday for at least 180 days is AP Calc... haha..." he mumbled to himself. "At least I've got Orchestra last..."
He sat through every class, usually in the corner, nobody noticing him, and he not noticing anyone. He hadn't met any of his friends yet. For some reason he wasn't popular. He didn't understand why. He just sat there thinking of this through his Chemistry lecture which to him was just some mumbo jumbo he couldnt understand. There's gonna be some major studying before the test next week... The bell rang and he slowly got up from his desk while everyone else was pushing him aside to get to lunch and to freedom. He walked out the door not looking forward to anthing anymore since he knows that his former friends probably forgot about him now because to begin with, they really weren't that... friendly. He stopped by his locker to put up the stuff he didnt need for tonight. he stopped by the cafeteria and bought a meal of something called tamales with a side of salad, fries, and a soda. Kellen soon found out that a tamale was Mexican food. Up there in Montana he didn't know too much about Mexican food or any foreign food except for Chinese. He walked past the Math hall and into an empty hallway.
POV change.
I wandered the halls searching for a spot to sit and eat where people weren't screaming, hugging, and jumping all over the place litle rabbits. I found a nice place near the stairwell leading up to the Fine Arts division of the school where the Music, Art, Dance, and Theatre classes were. I put my stuff down and sat against the wall, feeling the cold of the building seeping into me. I ate for a while and fingered my audition music for Orchestra until i saw a student walking towards my direction. I didn't mind him too much and went back and immersed myself in my music.
Before I knew it, he sat next to me eating his club sandwich as if he didn't mind me being there.
"Hey, can I have some of your soda? Promise I won't put my lips on it," he said.
"Go ahead. You can have the rest actually," I said without looking up.
He felt like he was studying me. After a while he finally took my soda and continued to eat and I just continued to look at my music aware of eyes carefully studying me. I felt sort of uncomfortable and I couldn't really concentrate on my music anymore. I decided to look up. Big mistake.
"Hey, I'm Aaron Lackey. Nice to meetcha," he said matter of factly, just as my eyes met his.
Just then I felt as if i was hit by a plane coming at me at 1000 mph. I was awestruck by how he looked. I thought his skin was emitting some kind of illuminescent glow. His eyes were deep blue, captivating. I couldn't get my eyes off of his. I was practically drowning in those deep pools of blue and I couldn't escape. It seemed like we-I was staring in those eyes until I heard him clear his throat- hard, a questioning look on his face.
"OH, um, yeah. I'm uhh... Kellen Willoughby. You're in my Chem class, right?" I managed to squeeze out.
"Haha. Yeah. I am. I'm also in your Calc class and you seem like a cool guy so i just wanted to ask if you could help me in the class? You don't have to you know. It's just that you're irresistibly ho- ahem- smart that that i just had to ask for your help." he said with an amused look on his face.
"Ok..." I responded. What's 'hosmart'? Oh well. "Sure, no problem. I'd be glad to help you."
I just stared at him after that trying to get in as much of that face as possible. This doesn't usually happen. Suddenly, he smiled... sexily? and that encaptivated me even further until he cleared his throat pretty loud again.
"Oh crap, sorry. I was... thinking of my schedule." I quickly said. Damn him and his freaking good looks.
"Oh, okay. For a minute there i thought you were gonna kiss me."
"Ahahaahaha... No, no. I usually just blank out when I'm thinking hard you know. It's a habit. Is after school good for you?" I asked Aaron.
"Yeah sure. I have theatre rehearsals-already- until 4:00... so, is 4:15 good for you? We can have it at you place so it's a lot better for you?"
"Well, I guess that's alright. We'll just go over the lecture notes and homework if you need any help... Oh, that's right. Here's my address. I live like 5 minutes away from the school." I handed him a piece of paper that held my address and number and handed it to him. He took it and examined it. While he was I was just adoring how his brows lowered and his forehead wrinkled a bit and how his tongue slid out of his mouth and licked his lips a little when he was thinking of something. If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought he was subtly seducing me.
"Hey, I know this street. I live like a few blocks away. This is gonna be much easier than i thought. I can just walk to your house." He said pretty happily, his eyes sparkling.
The bell rang.
"Well, I gotta go..." I told him.
"'Aight! See ya later then" Aaron said seemingly having lasped into his "cool" mode once more.
I threw my trash away and watched Aaron move away in the opposite direction. He looked back and waved at me and smiled that intoxicating smile that held me entranced. I managed to wave back a little. Stupid! I stood there watching him, thinking of that face- that smile, the skin, and those deep blue eyes that i know held something inside- metaphorically speaking of course. I only managed to imagine how his body might have looked like under those clothes. drool. Whoa! Breathe. I just can't get why I'm like this... Wow... something's definitely wrong with me.
"Think, Kellen. Think! You're not after a guy. You're supposed to be after a girl. Think!" he willed himself. "Must go to class. Where am I going again???... Music! That's right. Geez." With that he opened the stairwell doors and walked up the stairs alone.
