Birds chirping, sunlight streaming through the venetian blinds in his room, the sound of water trickling through the river, and cars zooming past the busy intersection: all excited the lithe, half-awake teen as the morning came to life. Getting up from his bed, he grinned ostentatiously remembering yesterday's events. Marc had actually wanted to study with him. After a little bit of stammering, George had excused himself and found Vanessa and squealed to her the good news. The natural high he was on was incomparable and it carried on to this Monday morning. Who was it that sang they hated Mondays because, at this moment, the raven haired boy could see no wrong in them. Blinking his big, rich soil-like eyes rapidly, he put on his glasses, and patted down his growing hair. He was sure it was a mess, and he confirmed it as he walked to his mirror. Grabbing his brush, he patted it all down: the wonders of hogs-whiskers!
Getting excited, he walked with a spring in his step to his bathroom. He quickly did his morning business, and noted that he had 15 minutes to get to school on time. He was always late, no matter how early he woke up. He yelled at someone in his house to wake up so they could drive him to school (he wasn't allowed to take the car to school, because someone in his large family always needed it) and dressed in his school uniform, but not before putting on some deodorant and Lacoste Red cologne. Simple black pants and a white golf shirt, layered with a sweater vest. He stopped to pin a Paul Frank button to the front of his vest, grabbed his phone, iPod, house keys, and lunch money before heading downstairs. Drinking some water quickly and grabbing a cereal bar or two, he shouldered his backpack, slipped into black Nike Air Force Ones (the school only allowed black shoes and he luckily got away with these runners) and headed outside to see his brother in the car already. The drive to school was uneventful and George just listened to some Regina Spektor on the way there: calming, folk-like music that helped him get in a good mood. Nothing seemed to be able to go wrong today: it was just too damn beautiful.
Noting that he had an AP Biology exam today, he rushed to the Lecture Hall and spent the next four hours trying to remember things like the complementary base pairs of a strand of DNA, and the Lamarck theory of punctuated evolution. He knew he didn't have to try though, because he wasn't going to use any of the college credits towards college anyways: he'd rather just get a higher mark in first year Bio. This being his third AP exam, the procedure was habitual by now, and he straggled to Calculus after four, long, boring hours. As he walked into the class, he noticed the lesson was just finishing up. Regretful that he missed it, he borrowed the note from Ash, copied it as fast as he could and talked to the teacher about the test tomorrow. He glanced over at Marc, who was busy chatting with his seemingly reserved friend, Nicole. Before class ended though, they got back their last unit test. Although George had a `Very Good!' plastered on the top of his page, he had made so many stupid mistakes that had cost him marks. He felt disappointed in himself and vowed to do better for tomorrow. He was nervous though... how does one bring about the subject of studying if the other person is ignoring you? It gets a lot harder when the other person seemed to ooze raw sexuality with every ounce of their being. Sometimes, all George wanted to do was grab that little tease and push him up against a wall and... daydreams aside, he was still confused.
His friends started leaving the class though and they called out to him to hurry up. He took one last backwards glance at the boy who had captured his attention so easily, but barely seemed to notice him in return. "Hold up! I'm coming!" George yelled out to his friends. On the way to their lockers, they just decided to stay in school for lunch. George took a bit more time than usual, since Marc had left class after him. Just as he was about to leave, Marc came up to his locker. Vanessa said hi to him and before George could say hi back, Rose interrupted.
"Guess what Vanessa!" the green eyed half Irish, half Indian vixen said. "I'm coming to university with you next year. Don't worry, you're not so alone now," Rose laughed as she flipped out her short brown hair.
"Oh that's a relief! Yay!" Vanessa cheered as she beamed out towards everyone. George noticed Marc had finished with his locker and was just waiting around with his friends, who just ate lunch in this corridor beside their lockers. George looked up and found his eyes latched onto two light green reflections: Marc.
"Ahem!" Marc coughed.
"Oh! Hey. How'd you do on that last test?" George inquired.
"Not bad, coulda done better. Hopefully I do good on the one tomorrow, need to keep my mark up there you know?" he suggested, and George nodded, although he really wasn't in the same boat as him. Vanessa suddenly gave a little cough, then turned to look at George, giving him a look that screamed NOW!
"Hey Marc... um... do you still..." George slowly took his time finding the right words.
"Yeah, I need help. For sure dude. Meet me here after school ok? We'll decide shit then," he said quite manly, George thought. He liked it when others took control. One can't always be aggressive.
"Sure thing bud," George grinned. Then he noticed his friends were practically at the end of the hallway. "Later guys!" George yelled as he ran to catch up to Pat and Rose.
During lunch, Pat came with him to buy lunch in the ungodly long lunch line. At this time, Pat disclosed to him his pressing dilemma: he probably wasn't heading off to university next year. He'd applied to some engineering programs in the area, but his average wasn't good enough to get into any. He hadn't heard back from any of them and he didn't know what to do next year. George told him it wasn't shameful at all to come back for another year or even just a semester. Pat said his parents wouldn't understand, because they wanted him to go to university since they never had that chance. He was getting visibly distraught, and honestly believed his parents would kick him out. George wished he could offer Pat his room next year, but he wouldn't be around and Pat didn't know his family too well... it probably wouldn't work. He felt horrible that he couldn't really help, except by giving advice. He told him to go to his guidance counselor right away and discuss his options.
"Dude, it's just you're ALL heading off next year. All to different universities. And I'm gonna be left behind. That's gonna suck so bad," Pat said, downcast. The two got to order, and they paid for their food and dropped the subject as they headed back to the table. Pat still hadn't told his girlfriend and had no clue how. Lunch ended abruptly, and they all took off to their separate classes. George was just relieved he'd got into the super-competitive program he'd applied to: screw Harvard, Yale AND Princeton, his program had less than 5% admission.
George walked into Physics, wrote a quiz and wrote down the homework. The class passed by that quickly, and he rushed to his locker. Marc wasn't there yet. He had time to go through his bag and pack his stuff for that night. Noting that the jade eyed beauty wasn't there yet, he asked a couple teachers when some club meetings were. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted... Vanna.
"HI!" the blonde bombshell greeted.
"Hey, haven't seen you for a while," George joked. She'd gone to Montreal this weekend for a dance competition. After explaining how badly her dances had owned everyone else's she had some good news for him.
"I can get you guys tickets for my year end show this year!" she beamed up into his dark eyes.
"Finally! Three years and I finally get to see you dance seriously – and this time it won't include a pole, hopefully," he laughed. With that, he received a hard punch to the left shoulder. Then she started laughing.
"Okay, that was pretty funny."
"Yet you still abuse me. I swear Vans, one of these days..." George warned, all in good humour.
"Yo! George!" a deep voice called from down the hall. It was a certain brown haired beauty. "Ready to go?" he asked, swinging his keys in his left hand.
"I'll explain later Vans, later!" he called out as the stunned girl stood in her place, mouth agape.
"So, uh, if you don't mind, can we just go straight to my place? I wanna get as much studying in as possible. Nicole's gonna drop by later too, k?" he nonchalantly asked, as the duo walked outside to Marc's big blue BMW.
"Oh yeah, no problem," George said, hoping his disappointment wouldn't show through his face.
As Marc started up his car, he popped in a Red Hot Chili Peppers CD. The best of their hits it seemed as the tracks went on, George thought. He even caught him singing along to `Otherside' at one point. He laughed out loud a bit, and Marc just turned and raised an eyebrow in his direction, then laughed too. They arrived at Marc's house, nothing too out of the ordinary in a neighbourhood a lot of his friends lived in. They stepped out of the car and approached the door.
"So, my parents... mom, won't be home for a little while. Come in, we'll go up to my room. What do you want to drink?" he asked, quickly changing his tone after his little slip of the tongue.
"Whatever's fine. Juice if you have it, but pop's fine," George called down to him, as he took in the sight of Marc's room. Posters of famous hockey players adorned the walls. To his surprise, there was also a cork board full of pictures of him and his friends. George had the exact same thing at home. There was a desk in one corner, and the room seemed pretty clean for a teenage boy's. There were a couple of shirts with his hockey team's logo on them strewn on the floor and a bunch of his wall was taken up with hockey equipment. The bed sat right in the middle of the room, and George dropped his bag and sat on the bed. He took out his Calculus book and set up. Marc came in with two cans of Nestea and a bag of chips.
"Sorry, it's all I had," he said, throwing the can at George. Thankfully, George caught it without looking like too much of an idiot.
"Your room is... clean," George remarked at this oddity.
"Yeah... ever since my mom and dad split up, my mom's been working her ass off to keep me and my sis living the good life. The least I can do is keep the house under control yunno," he shrugged. George was right. As Marc spoke, he could sense the slightly shaken tone in his voice, and the sadness in his eyes. He'd borne a lot more responsibility than he was admitting to and you could tell he loved and respected his mom intensely. I guess he really did know the importance of getting help every now and then.
"Alright dude, let's get started. We've got a couple chapters to cover, then all the unit review stuff. And the derivations. What if he puts in another one like last test?" George asked.
"Oh. I totally failed that," Marc said a bit ashamed.
"Don't sweat it, we'll just make sure we know `em for next time. As in tomorrow. Let's get to it," George suggested. He really wondered where this confidence with Marc was coming from. It seemed to quell his nervousness and he could actually act like himself it seemed.
A few hours passed and the bag of chips lay empty. Fresh pages of paper were now scribbled upon with various equations and their derivatives. George had gotten bolder as time went on and had moved a bit closer to Marc, and had let their fingers brush on more than one occasion. Marc either didn't mind or didn't think anything of it, so George felt quite good about this development. It gave him a bit of hope, however false it may be.
"So dude I'm starving. I don't know where the fuck my mom is. Let's go grab a pizza, it's the least I can do for keeping you cooped up here," Marc nudged George.
"Yeah, sure," he agreed.
They went downstairs and climbed back into Marc's SUV and drove to a local pizza shop and ate, and they talked about their graduation ceremony that Wednesday and all the exciting things after.
"So dude, no-one goes to school on Thursday. So Wednesday night, after we're done with our commencement stuff, there's gonna be a hotel party. We're all gonna stay the night and get so smashed. It's just a bunch of the people you saw on Sunday. Wanna come?" Marc asked, in between bites of pepperoni.
"Uh... wow, sure. Thanks. You sure your friends won't mind?" George asked, wiping his mouth with a napkin.
"Naw, it's gonna be massive. You should just come and get your mind off things. Even brainers gotta have some fun, haha," he laughed, his eyes crinkling up. He looked so cute right then, that if they weren't in a public place and had just eaten really greasy food, George would have kissed him.
"Okay, let's get back. We've only got those proofs left. I don't know where Nicole is. That's okay, I get all your help then," Marc winked at the now stunned boy. George couldn't move. He was paralyzed. He was pretty sure Finger Eleven would have a field day with his reaction. "George? You coming?" Marc asked with a hint of worry.
"Oh, er, ummmm, yea-h-" George stuttered out. His brain clearly wasn't functioning at its best at the moment.
They got back to Marc's house, the car ride back silent except for, ironically enough, the music of the song `Paralyzer'. George was getting quite sick of the song though. It was being played everywhere. As they finished up studying, George seemed to be a bit more withdrawn, still in shock over what Marc had said. Marc drove him home and even got out of his car to wish him goodnight. They made a little bit of idle talk, wishing each other luck for the test tomorrow. George just looked at Marc in the fading sunlight, standing on his driveway with shyness and lust. Mostly shyness though. "Thanks again dude. Remember, Wednesday k?" Marc reminded him. "Alright, take it easy," he suggested, and leaned in for a one-harmed guy hug. This took George by surprise and he didn't get to reciprocate.
"You're so fucking cu- cool," George accidently let out. "UH, yeah. Cool. Thanks for the ride and pizza and stuff," he said.
"Errr, okay. Later," he said giving George an odd look and climbing back into his car.
George unlocked the door and stepped into his house. He ran up to the bathroom, and jacked off furiously, to the thought, scent, touch of this little man-god. Ughhh, he thought. He's so fucking sexy. Tight arms, tight abs, nice legs, fucking cute as shit. Oh yeah, ohhhhhh yeah. George let out a little grunt as he sent his jizz flying all over the toilet, some landing on the wall. Spent, he leaned against the door, catching his breath. What one guy could do to him...
He couldn't wait til Wednesday now. FUCKING HELL!
"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he screamed.
"Shut the fuck up bitch!" one of his brothers screamed. Ah, brotherly love. Gotta take it where you can get it. =P
