"Charley, what's wrong; you aren't acting your usual chipper self?"

"Dale, do you remember my best friend from Milton, Chad Wheeler?" "I remember him well, love; what is going on with Chad'

"You know he has always been a religious person trying to do everything right according to his mother and the rules of his church." "He tried hard to do that, Charlie, and he always seemed miserable." "Well, he has been having some issues about who he is and, to some degree, what he is." "How so?"

"You had asked me once if he was gay, and I told you it was a fifty-fifty toss-up. He'd never admitted to being gay, but at the same time, in all the years I've known him, he had never once had a date with a girl or a guy. I had wondered how he swung for years, but I didn't want to upset or embarrass him by asking."

"Chad called me the other day and told me he was having a hard time because he was attracted to a new guy in his class at the college. Still, his faith was causing him a lot of grief because he was always told and taught that being gay was a mortal sin, and he didn't want to go against the church's teachings or his mom."

"Was Chad the friend who was Mormon?" "No, his mom raised him as a fundamentalist Baptist, and she has dragged him to church at least three times a week for as long as he can remember. She has consistently railed against anybody she knew who was gay and told Chad on more than one occasion that if she found out he was gay, he had to find somewhere else to live."

"Do you know the guy's name?" "I think it is Randy Blasingame." "Charlie, you have met Randy; you just don't remember." "I don't understand, Dale." "Think, Charley. Do you remember meeting a svelt-looking young man with medium brown hair? He was about six feet, three inches tall." "Dale, he is the guy who lives on the right side of your parent's home." "That would be him, Charley."

"Chad and some friends went to Navarre Beach, and he saw Randy on the beach by himself getting some sun. So Chad and his friends put their towels down next to Randy. Since he and Chad knew each other from school, they struck up a conversation while Chad's friends went swimming."

"They started spending a lot of time together studying at school, at home, and doing mutual homework at each other's homes. Chad said he was looking out his bedroom window when Randy walked over and stood next to him as they watched some guys in the neighborhood doing stunts with a dirt bike. He turned to move away from the window, and Randy was standing in front of him. He said he and Randy stood there looking at each other for a second when Randy leaned over and kissed him on the lips."

"Chad said he freaked, not because Randy kissed him, but because he liked it. He said he stepped back and asked Randy why that happened, and Randy apologized and said he didn't know, it was just something he wanted to do at that moment. Chad asked him if he was gay, and Randy said he had never considered himself gay and had never before kissed or touched another boy."

"Again, Randy said he was sorry if he had offended Chad, that it was not his intention. Chad told me they just stood there looking at each other when Chad rushed into Randy and gave him a long, sensual kiss. Chad embarrassed himself because he had a raging boner after kissing Randy."

"It apparently didn't matter to Randy because he grabbed Chad and hugged him tightly for a long time. When he finally let go, they went into the living room, sat on the couch, and discussed what happened. Chad told Randy that what they did wasn't right, that the Bible says that for a man to lie with a man like a man lies with a woman is an abomination."

"He said he and Randy sat in silence for what seemed like an eternity after he told Randy about what the scripture says. Then, Randy reached over, grabbed Chad's hand, and held it until they heard Chad's mom drive into the garage. Then, they moved away from each other on the couch before Chad's mother walked inside. She had stopped and bought a large pizza and some drinks and invited Randy to stay for dinner."

"Chad's mother gave Randy the third degree asking every possible personal question. Chad said Randy seemed to be thoroughly embarrassed but didn't say anything about his brutal interrogation."

"The next day at school, Randy acted as if nothing had happened and seemed happy to see Chad. They made a date to go to the beach when school let out for the day and walked hand-in-hand for the longest. They apparently followed that routine at least every other day for a month before Randy suggested they go to his house one Friday after school."

"When the two walked into Randy's house, some soft music was playing on the stereo. Just as they walked through the door, Randy pulled Chad to him, and they slow danced for almost an hour before Randy took Chad to his bedroom. Randy said his mother was out of town for the weekend as he walked to his window and closed the blinds, and then dimmed the lights."

"Chad said he got nervous when Randy reached over and placed his hands on each side of his face and began softly kissing him. However, when Randy broke the embrace, he stared intently into Chad's eyes as he removed his shirt, revealing a beautiful six-pack of abs."

"Chad said he didn't know why he did what he did, but he undid Randy's belt and let his pants drop to the floor. Randy began unbuttoning Chad's shirt, eventually sliding it off his shoulders and tossing it on the floor. Chad was so nervous he was shaking as Randy pushed his briefs down and stepped out of them."

"Chad told me he was shocked at Randy standing in front of him totally naked. Then, when he, too, was naked, Randy took Chad's face into his hands, stepped up to him, gently laid him on the bed, and then laid on top of him. Feeling Randy's body on his was incredibly erotic and exciting, something he had wanted to experience for some time but never thought he would."

Randy rubbed his body on Chad's until they both climaxed at the same time. Then, Randy rolled over and pulled Chad on top of him and held him for at least an hour before he got up, got a warm washcloth, and gently cleaned Chad's stomach. After that, they got out of bed, dressed, and Randy took him to a nice steakhouse for dinner."

"When they got back to Randy's home, Randy asked Chad if he could stay for the weekend since his mother would be out of town. Chad said he'd need to run to his house to get a couple of changes of clothes and a bathing suit since they planned to spend the day at the beach on Saturday."

"When they got to Chad's house, his mother was at home and began questioning him about what the two had been doing. Chad said they were just hanging out, studying, had gone to dinner, and made plans to go to the beach for most of the day on Saturday. Since that was what they wanted to do, he told his mother that he would stay at Randy's for the weekend. She wasn't pleased with that idea, but she knew Chad was legally an adult and could do what he wanted, but if he was going to live in her house, he had to follow her rules."

Chad got a couple of changes of clothes, and he and Randy headed back to his house. When they got there, Chad put his clothes in Randy's room. Then they got undressed and went to the den, where he and Randy made out until the late news came on."

"Randy told Chad he'd never had a relationship with a guy, and that he wanted to experience some things he had dreamed about, obsessed over, but never tried. As they laid on the couch, Randy gave Chad a fantastic blow job that sent him over the hill; he pitched, and Randy caught. He spat what he had caught into Chad's butt, rubbed it into his sphincter until it relaxed, and then slowly entered Chad and made gentle love to him."

"Randy didn't use a condom, and that scared Chad, but after the act happened, there wasn't anything he could do but trust that Randy was clean. Chad returned the favor to Randy, and after he climaxed, they held each other and cried. Chad said it really hurt at first, but he enjoyed being with Randy more than he could describe."

"When they calmed down, Randy started a warm shower and gently bathed Chad from head to toe. Chad then washed Randy, but instead of getting dressed and going to the beach, they went back to bed, held each other, and talked about what had happened the night before. Randy asked Chad if he was OK with everything, and he said he was, that for the first time, he actually had felt safe."

"When Chad had said that, Randy tenderly rubbed the side of his face and ran his fingers through Chad's hair. Chad said he had never felt so loved, so appreciated, as he did with the attention and the little kisses he received from Randy. I asked him if he thought he was gay, and Chad said that was a question that had haunted him, but he finally knew the answer was yes."

"Chad said the scariest thing he now has to face is telling his mom. So, I told him to go talk to his pastor, that any conversation they had was confidential and couldn't be divulged to his mother. So, that is what he did. He called me back the next day and said the pastor was incredibly understanding and told him that his mother's stance was not Christlike; if she broached the subject with him, that is what he would say to her."

"When Chad got home, his mother began peppering him with questions. He refused to answer them - until she told him she had seen him and Randy walking down the beach holding hands and exchanging kisses. He was furious that his mother had been spying on him and let her have it."

"When she stopped ranting and raving, Chad called the pastor, and they immediately went to the church to counsel with him. When they finished talking with the pastor, Chad's mother was crying and had a new understanding of her son's sexuality and unique knowledge of how scriptures actually pertained to his situation."

"Randy's mother learned how Chad's mother had reacted and told Randy to talk to Chad about moving in with them. Randy was shocked when his mother said that to him, and he told her that it wasn't the response he had expected. Instead, Randy's mom told him the same thing Peyton's parents and Jaiden's mother said to them: she had known he was gay since he was a young child, and his being gay was the least of her concerns, that she loved him no matter what."

"Chad now lives with Randy in a loving relationship in Randy's mother's house, and she treats Chad like Jaiden's mother treats you and me."

"Since Chad's mother spoke with their pastor, she is accepting of his relationship with Randy and visits often with them. In addition, they visit with Chad's mother at her house for weekend lunches and dinners, and they go to the beach together for long walks almost every weekend." "Wow, I am so happy for Chad and Randy." "I am more than happy for him, Dale. Finally, he has someone who truly loves and wants him – just like I do." As Charley said that, a tear fell from his eye, and Dale held him as he released his emotions.

The following day, Chad called Charley to say his dad had called. His dad being the southern, backwoods redneck he is, Chad thought he was about to get reamed a new one through the telephone, but he was shocked by what his dad had to say." "What did his dad say, Charley?"

"Dale, I asked Chad that very question, and he started laughing and couldn't stop. He said his mom called his dad to tell him the `sad' news, and his dad stopped her in mid-sentence and said, `Margaret, you knew damned well that boy was gay from the day he was born, and you are calling me with your self-righteous bullshit! Give me a break. I am proud of the boy; he finally grew a set of balls and stepped out to be his true self, and I don't give a damn who likes it or not. Give the boy a break for once in his life.' Then he hung up on Chad's mom."

"That's when his dad called Chad to let him know what he'd said to his mom. When his dad told him he already knew Chad was gay, and that he was incredibly proud of his son for growing a pair and taking charge of his life; Chad said he was in shock!"

"His dad said he hoped Chad was happy with Randy and hoped he and Randy would come to see him; then they cried together. Dale, how much more beautiful could Chad's story be?" "Charley, I don't know; Chad is incredibly fortunate."

When Peyton and Jaiden came home, Charley and Dale told them about Chad's call. Jaiden said, "WOW! What a beautiful story. Is Chad someone you've known for a long time, Charley?" "He was my best friend back home and the only person who supported me when he found out I was gay." "Charley, why don't you invite Chad and Randy to fly up and spend some time with you here in Memphis. We have plenty of room, and there are two different vehicles they are welcome to use while they are here." "Do you mean that for real, Jaiden?"

"Charley, you have known me long enough and well enough to know that if I didn't mean it, I wouldn't say it." "You're right, Jaiden; sorry." "There is nothing to be sorry about, Charley. This is your home, our home, and if you want your friends to come and visit with you and Dale, you know they are welcome here anytime they want to come." One more thing; if they need help with the plane tickets to get here, you better let me and Peyton know, or we will be pissed, understand?" "Yes, sir, thank you." "Anytime, Charley; you know brothers always take care of brothers; don't ever forget that."

"Chad, this is Charlie. How would you and Randy like to come to Memphis for a visit? Y'all are welcome to stay as long as you'd like to, and you'll have your choice of three bedrooms to stay in and a choice of two Lincoln's to drive for as long as you are here." "Charley, did you say two Lincolns?" "I did. Dale and I were given a Lincoln Navigator for some things we did back in Erie, and Jaiden and Peyton were given one for the same reason. That's all I will say about it because the circumstances surrounding everything almost drove all of us crazy. Now, if you want to know more, type Dale and Charley Jacobs-Anderson and Jaiden and Peyton Riley-Reynolds in your web browser; we don't want to appear as braggarts. I hope you are sitting down when you do that because what you will see will blow your mind.

When you two can find the time to come for a visit, Jaiden said to let Peyton and him know, and they would help with the airline tickets." "Who is Jaiden and Peyton, Charley." "They became our brothers by choice several years back. We'll fill you in on the details when Randy and you get to Memphis." "OK, that will leave us in some anticipatory suspense until we get there."

That night when Randy and Chad got home from school, they sat down at the computer and did what Charley said to do. When the information popped up on the computer screen, Chad said, "Oh my gosh, never in a million years would I have expected to read this! Randy, this is so surreal it's hard for me to comprehend." "Chad, you didn't know about any of this?" "Heck no! How did I miss all of this when it was on the news?" "Babe, it's called being busy concentrating hard on getting an education." "I guess so, Randy, but dang..."

Fall break was coming up in two weeks, so Chad shot Charley a text with the dates. Charley shared the dates with Peyton, and he and Jaiden got first-class tickets to and from Memphis for Randy and Chad. Charley didn't tell them the tickets were first-class; he would let them find out that information when they went to the airport with their ID so Delta could process the ticket purchases.

An hour after going to the airport, Chad and Randy called Charley. He asked the proverbial question: Charley, just who are Jaiden and Peyton?" "Chad, we met them at Wellstone University when we shared a campus apartment. Dale and I were in the process of breaking up because I made the mistake of my life and cheated on him. We were having a screaming match when Peyton returned from class; he heard the argument outside the apartment and severely jumped our case. When Jaiden found out about the fight, he went to the counseling center with Peyton. They set up a gay-specific couples counseling program that Dale and I had to attend to stay in college."

"Because of those two, Dale and I have been together for seven years, six of which were as spouses. A year ago this past June, our five children were born, four boys and a girl, and they are Dale's and my biological children."

"Your biological children, Charley?" "Yes, Chad. And we have them because of the love of Peyton's family, especially that of his sister Jenny and her friends who wanted to be surrogate moms for us after we met. Jenny was a surrogate mom for Jaiden, and her husband's sister was a surrogate for Peyton."

"Charley, do the four of you have all those children in one house?" "We do and they make our lives so rich and happy. They are brilliant and talented, and I'm not bragging. You can see for yourself when you get here. They were born on the same day last June, a year ago, and are sixteen months old. They started walking at seven months of age, and they started talking in sentences at nine months. What's funny is our daughter, Alaina Noelle, rules the roost over those boys. Dale is her biological father, but you'd think I am the bio-dad with Alaina Noelle's temper." "She's sixteen months old, and she has a temper like that?"

"She's not mean or anything, Chad; she just doesn't let her nine brothers run roughshod over her or be too protective. Nathan was being really protective of her one day, as was her other brothers, and we heard a blood-curdling scream and ran outside to see what had happened. Jaiden was sitting on the deck laughing and stopped us and made us sit down and watch. Finally, when Alaina Noelle had had enough of Nathan's crap, she balled up her fist and cold-cocked him in the mouth. She has been the taskmaster ever since."

"When the boys get rowdy, and she yells at them, they all run to one spot and sit down quivering together." "Charley, that is hilarious." "Chad, if you think it is hilarious now, wait until you see it in person; you'll laugh your ass off, so you might want to gain a little weight before coming up." "Charley, I can't wait; it has been so long since we have seen and talked to each other." "Same here, bro, same here."

"Charley, are you sure your house is big enough to accommodate Randy and me with four adults and ten children there?" "Actually, it's five adults and ten children."

"Peyton and Jaiden do a lot of work with people who have had a hard time with life, and a guy who attacked Jaiden at the park moves in on Friday. He has been in therapy for almost a year since the attack. Jaiden and Peyton have participated in his treatment, and gone to court with Leon when he has had a case review. He is an incredible person."

"They have gotten him a scholarship to Wellstone University, where we went to college. Jaiden's mom and Peyton's parents will give Leon some money each month for gas and incidental expenses, and so he can go out to dinner and lunch once a week; he has no idea they are going to do that for him. The parents will be here Friday to meet and talk to Leon when he moves in; we will have a big party for the guy on Friday night."

"Leon doesn't know this, but we have made arrangements for his ex-girlfriend to be here on Friday night; hopefully, when she sees how much progress Leon has made, she'll want to rekindle their relationship; she's a beautiful, sweet young lady."

"Jaiden and Peyton got in on the money deal and bought Leon a new car to drive when he gets to Brevard for college. So, when he came last weekend with his therapist for a weekend trial run on the living arrangements, Peyton and Jaiden showed him the car. He'll have to stay in therapy to keep the car while he is in University."

"Leon's full-ride scholarship to Wellstone was arranged by Peyton through his uncle, Dean of Men at Wellstone, and his aunt, the Director of Housing; Leon had no idea about that either."

"The truth be known, Peyton and Jaiden are probably paying for his entire education. Likewise, their parents paid for my and Dale's entire undergrad and graduate education when they found out how Dale's and my dad were about us being gay."

"We found out two years ago that Jaiden's mom was so angry about how our dad's behaved toward us that she got on a jet and flew to Pensacola, went to their jobs, and reamed then two new assholes each in front of everybody they worked with. When she got through, they were in tears."

"When we were awarded Penn State Graduate school scholarships during Jaiden's and Peyton's graduation at Wellstone, our dads showed up and publically apologized to us in front of at least five thousand people; they are now incredibly involved in our children's lives - and are fully supportive of Dale and me.

As for Jaiden, Peyton, and their families, we have no inkling of everything Jaiden, Peyton, and their families have done for us. Everything they did was out of love, and they refuse to talk about any of it."

"Charley, you have been incredibly blessed!" "We have been, Chad, and the blessings have been unending since we became part of Jaiden's and Peyton's families. When you and Randy get here, we'll take you to the hospital and show you the project Dale and I are working on, and Jaiden and Peyton can show you what they do at the hospital."

"At the hospital, Charley?" "Yes, they are pediatric oncologists and surgeons along with Peyton's brother, Richard. Richard's and Peyton's story is amazing, and I'll let them tell you about that; you will never hear a more loving story."

"Charley, I can't wait to see you. I hope you have enough room for us." "Chad, I think nine bedrooms and seven bathrooms is enough room. Then there's the den, the dining room, the breakfast room, the kitchen, the living room, and the deck." "Charley, just how big is your home?" "It's a little over 5,000 square feet." "You must live in a grocery store." "Pretty much, but the house is much prettier and a lot more comfortable." "Well, we'll see y'all Wednesday afternoon." "Good, Chad; you'll get to meet Jaiden's mom and Peyton's parents and Peyton's and Richard's little brother, Seth."

Jaiden, I talked to Chad; he and Randy will be here by Noon on Wednesday, so they'll get to meet your mom and Peyton's parents and Seth." "That's great, Charley. You and Dale get together and figure out where you'd like to take the guys for dinner Wednesday night."

"Peyton, I told Charley to get with Dale and decide where they'd like to take Chad and Randy for dinner Wednesday night. I intend to ignore whatever they choose and take everybody out for the river cruise dinner. After the lousy beginning Chad and Randy had with Chad's mom, they deserve something extraordinary." "Jaiden, have I told you lately how much I love you?" "Sweetheart, not only have you told me, you show me every day; I love you more!"

Friday night arrived, and the guy's parents got to the house shortly after six that evening. Peyton picked them up at the airport instead of letting them rent a vehicle. When they got home, the babies all yelled, "Ga ma, Ganny, Gan pa! as they ran to and tackled their grandparents, who then laid on the floor and played with their grandchildren.

Ginny and Granny walked around the corner into the den and said, "Uh huh, Geraldine, it looks like they are still growing up like their sons. Sure does, Martha. Then the ladies started laughing as the grandparents stood up, and they hugged. Dr. Mom commented on how pretty the ladies looked, and Granny said, `You can thank your boys for the way we look; they bought us these outfits for our birthdays."

"Ginny, Jaiden is still the same loving young man you taught him to be." "Peyton is the spitting image of Jaiden, Dr. Reynolds." "Ginny, you must stop calling me Dr. Reynolds. I've told you, my name is Peggy." Peyton's dad chimed in and said, "and I'm Jim," just before Peyton's mom said, "and my name is Phyllis." Ginny said, "OK, we'll try, but it isn't going to be easy for us to call you by your first name."

"Peyton had dropped his parents and Jaiden's mom off at the house and then went back to the hospital. He and Jaiden walked through the door into the kitchen at 6:30 and yelled, "Daddy's home!" The children yelled. "DADDY!" as they took off, running toward the kitchen.

The dads played with their children before asking Ginny when they learned to say daddy instead of da. Granny said they had been working with the children on learning to say, daddy. "You young men need to pay close attention to your children, I think you will be surprised at some of the new things they have learned.

Everybody went to B. B. Kings restaurant for dinner. Jaiden got him and the children a large platter of chicken livers. The livers were soft enough he could safely give them to the children without cutting them up. Everybody had a big laugh when the waiter brought out some broccoli salad and gave each child a small dish of it. Peyton's dad said, "Oh, hell no! I'm driving a separate car back to the house. No way am I going to smell the after-effects of the children eating broccoli salad!"

Peyton died laughing as he said, "Dad, we don't have an extra car with us tonight." "Then I'll walk or call a cab." Peyton pulled a bottle of Beano from his pocket and put a drop on a spoon of broccoli for each child. Jaiden's and Peyton's moms were howling at the prank they pulled on Jim.

In the middle of dinner, Mark looked at his dad and said, `this is good, Daddy." When he said that, Peyton looked incredibly saddened. His mom said, "Peyton, why the sad look?" "Mom, my boys are growing up too quickly! I want them to stay babies longer than this." "Peyton, they'll be grown and married before you know it, and then you and Jaiden will suddenly have twenty-five grandchildren. When you add the babies the rest of our grandchildren might have, you're looking at the possibility of fifty grandchildren. Maybe your dad and I need to sell you the farm so you'll have room for all of those grandchildren."

"Mom, you and Dad have talked about selling the practice and moving to the Erie area and buying a farm there. If you do, then we'll simply let the grandchildren stay with you when they come for a visit." Peyton's dad said, "Son, surely you and Jaiden wouldn't do that to your mom and me." "Au Contrair, Dad. You and mom would love it, and you know it. You'd spend all your time with the great-grandchildren teaching them how to bug me as Jenny does." Dad Riley replied, "now that you put it that way, son, I think you are right!" Then Peyton's dad sported an ear-to-ear grin, and Peyton knew he was going to be in trouble down the road of time.

When they got the children ready to get into the van and go home, Dad Riley picked up Jimmy, his namesake. Just as he did, Jimmy let out the most gigantic fart he had ever cut. Dad Riley didn't say a word as he handed Jimmy to his daddy.
