NOTE: Sorry this chapter is so late in coming. I have had COVID 19 for a month. My spouse now has it.
G. A. Patrick
"Mom, this is Peyton. Do you remember Allison?" "Yes, Peyton, why do you ask?" I told her she was pregnant and would have a little boy. That part I was correct on, but I missed half the story; she's having twin boys. Jason cried his little heart out as Pete held him and let him get it out of his system. He has been wanting a little brother for a long time and never said anything because he didn't want to be rude." "Peyton, he is such a wonderful little boy, please help with him." "I will, Mom."
Pete and Allison said they had discussed naming the twins when they are born. One will be named Peyton and the other will be named Jaiden. That is the single nicest thing that has ever happened to me and Jaiden. She is four months pregnant and didn't even know it." "Wow, would you like for me to call Peggy and let her know?" "Please, Jaiden and I have been teary all day after what Pete said about naming the boys." "Peyton, I'll call her right now and let you know what she says unless she tells me she is going to call y'all." "Thanks, Mom, I love you." "I love you, too, sweetheart. Kiss Jaiden for me." "I will, Mom, but it may lead to more interesting horseplay." "Peyton, you are so bad!" Let me call Peggy and then I'll get back with you."
"Peggy, this is Phyllis. Jaiden got a real surprise today. Allison is four months pregnant with twin boys. They're naming one boy Jaiden and the other, Peyton. The boys have been emotional after hearing that news and Jaiden could probably use some momma advice to calm down. " "Thanks for cluing me in, Phyllis, I'll call him right now. Have a good night." "You, too, Peggy, and thanks."
"Jaiden, this is Mom. I heard you've been on a roller coaster ride today." "Yes Mam, I have been. Allison is pregnant with twin boys and they told us they are naming them after Peyton and I. That is about the best honor I have ever received, bar none. They said they hoped their boys would be as loving as Peyton and I. I think that's what got to both of us. Jason cried his little heart out and Pete picked him up and let him cry until the news registered in his little brain. He has wanted a little brother for a while now and wouldn't say anything because he didn't want to be rude." "Jaiden, I love that little boy beyond measure. He is a one in a million child like you and Peyton."
Look under your and Peyton's briefs in the dresser. I left something there for you in case you needed a little help calming down." "Thanks, Mom, I'll go get it right now." "Don't drive after you take it for at least 8 hours. It's a low dose so you should be ok in the morning when you go to your classes."
Congratulations, son. Someone naming their child after you and then hearing what Pete said, Son, that is a true honor. I'll call you in the morning to see how you are feeling." "Thanks, Mom, I love you to Mars and back." "Same here for you, good night."
Jaiden went to his bedroom and looked where his mom said she left some medication for him and, sure enough, it was there. He took one pill and gave one to Peyton and within thirty minutes they were fast asleep. Neither of them awoke before 8 the next morning when Dale woke them and they got up and dressed for school. You might say Jaiden had a bit of a hangover from the pill so he let Peyton drive them to school.
When the two got into class, the professor looked at Jaiden and asked, "So what is the verdict with Jason?" "Doc, Peyton got it correct except the number? "The number?" "Yes sir, Allison is having twin boys. "Interesting to say the least. And Peyton made the diagnosis from reading her face and nothing else?" "Yes Professor, that is correct."
"Peyton, would you please come to the front of the class and tell us how you have diagnosed so many pregnancies without the benefit of blood tests, x-rays, or sonograms?" A family friend in Georgia was working at Kroger when the doctors did an amniocentesis test on his supervisor and told her she was having another girl. The friend's husband didn't speak to her for over a month even though, scientifically, he was the reason she was having a girl. The family friend told her the test was wrong and that she would have a boy. His friend argued that the amniocentesis test was 95% positive for a girl. The friend told her that left a 5% chance the baby would be a boy. 7 months later, she had a little boy. He used to talk about his ability to tell what sex the baby would be for prospective mothers. His batting average is over 95% correct.
He taught me what he observed and how to read the faces to tell the sex of someone's soon to be a new child. When a woman is having a baby boy, her cheeks tend to be rosier, especially along the upper jaw extending toward the front of her face. She also tends to be giggly or happy in a more upbeat sort of way. She will also carry the baby higher than she would a little girl. Her disposition tends to be very out-going while she is pregnant with the boy.
As for having a little girl, the woman's face tends to be a tender color of pink, her mood is more sedated, and her smile tends to be gentler and calmer. She also tends to face what she has to face with a calmness that is not indicative of her normal mood. She is less outgoing than normal and would prefer to sit around her home reading a good book and eating a weird concoction of foods. For whatever reason, I have not missed calling a birth correctly in ten years.
There is one thing when reading the face of a pregnant woman: She needs to be sans makeup or you could misread their pregnancy due to the makeup.
Ladies and gentlemen, here is a research project for you: find someone you know who is pregnant and use the factors mentioned by Peyton and see if you can predict the sex of the baby to be born by physical features of the mom. Keep it in journal form through the baby's birth and let's see how many predictions are correct. Peyton, your journal can be about Allison. This is a fun exercise that will hopefully break up some of the stress you all have been incurring. It is also a learning exercise. It won't count toward your GPA unless you need extra credit.
The professor then began touching on some of the problems students noted in the examinations of their cadavers, especially cancer and its invasion of the body. He asked if anyone in the classroom had found atherosclerosis in their assigned cadavers and those who did were asked to comment on what they found, how they found it, and whether or not they believed atherosclerosis to be the cause of death.
The last thing the professor taught about was fatty liver disease. He inquired if any of the students had found that disease in their cadaver friends. Several students had found the disease and described how it had caused cirrhosis or hardening of the liver. Jaiden had found cirrhosis in his assigned cadaver and noted that the diseased seemed to have been caused by excess consumption of alcohol because of the scar tissue noted in the liver. Mr. Reynolds, I have the death certificate for your cadaver and your diagnosis is spot on. The cirrhosis was caused by excessive consumption of alcohol. Good job. For the rest of you, you also did good jobs in diagnosing your cadaver's cause of death. The question for each of us at this point is to determine if the disease had been caught in time, would the problems have been properly treated and what is the probability your patient would still be alive. We will cover that subject tomorrow.
"Peyton, when we get home, may I ask a favor from you?" "Jaiden, you know you can do that anytime. What would you like for me to do for you when we get home?" "I just want you to hold me and let me unwind." "Of course babe, as soon as we get home."
As soon as the guys got home, they went straight to their bedroom, undressed, and climbed into bed. Peyton scooted as close as he could to Jaiden, threw his arm over Jaiden. They fell asleep with Peyton holding his love. They awoke when Dale knocked on their door to let them know dinner was ready. They had slept so hard that they never heard Dale and Charley get home. They did have one surprise for the evening, Phil took the night off and was at home for once.
Jaiden and Peyton donned their khaki shorts and a tee shirt and went to the dining room. Dale had cooked a beef roast the day before and make a large pot of gravy. He served the roast with fresh creamed potatoes, baby early peas with pearl onions, a salad with ranch and blue cheese dressing. Dale and Jaiden loved a good blue cheese with beef. Everybody ate until they were stuffed.
After dinner, the guys watched an action movie for an hour and a half. Afterward, Dale and Charley went to their room and Phil retired to his. They each had a television in their rooms and could watch another movie there.
It was particularly dark outside with the cool mountain air moving in so Jaiden took Peyton outside and sat him on the chaise lounge and began removing his pants. Peyton wondered what Jaiden had in mind but didn't say a word. Whatever it was would be a surprise.
When Jaiden had Peyton undressed, he began massaging Peyton from head to toe. He took great effort in giving a massage that caused Peyton to have one of the hardest erections he'd ever had. When that feat had been achieved, Jaiden took in all of Peyton and began a slow, rhythmic bob up and down until he felt Peyton getting close to spewing everything he had. At that point, he stopped for a minute or so to let that feeling pass. Then he began the slow, methodical fellatio again and took Peyton to the edge several times until he finally let Peyton have the release he so badly wanted. The release was a lot and Jaiden caught it all. He got up and walked to the edge of the deck and spit everything out in the flower bed. He went back, slipped Peyton's shorts back on, and laid next to and held him tightly to his body.
When Dale got up on Friday morning, the two amigos were still asleep on the chaise lounge on the deck oblivious to everything including the sunrise and the birds singing. There was no doubt they were still exhausted from the night before. Dale woke them in time to take a shower and eat breakfast before heading to school.
Today would be an easy day discussing problems found in resections yesterday and discussing if they felt anything could have been done to save their cadaver's lives. The professor agreed with Peyton that the only thing that could have kept his cadaver alive would have been a complete liver transplant due to the hardening of massive amounts of liver tissue. An additional problem Jaiden found was low functioning kidneys which also would have to be transplanted with the liver. The professor congratulated him for being correct in everything he had observed.
Peyton did an exceptional job as well by correctly diagnosing that the person he had been working on died of Hep C and Hep B, neither of which showed any signs of ever being treated. The damage to the liver was obvious.
The professor discussed several other cases before telling everyone they had done an excellent job of diagnosing the causes of death for their assigned cadavers. He dismissed the class for the weekend and told them to read the chapters on the syllabus to be discussed Monday morning. With that said, the professor went to his office and the students went to lunch.
When Jaiden and Peyton got to the cafeteria, they were stunned to find prime rib, medium rare, grilled asparagus, and tea. And there was plenty of Stevia for Jaiden and Peyton. Jaiden smiled and didn't say a word as he ate the prime rib. For his salad, he got blue cheese dressing because the blue cheese paired so well with the beef. For the first time, Jaiden went and got a second plate of prime rib and grilled asparagus. He didn't get a salad this time, but he did get the sour cream and horseradish sauce.
When Jaiden and Peyton got home, their phone rang and it was Pete. Guys, Allison went to the doctor today and she won't be having twins." Jaiden felt down when he heard that, but it didn't last long. "Peyton, Jaiden, Allison is having triplet boys. Jaiden and Peyton let out a yell that scared Ginny who was in the kitchen and Dale and Charley who were in their room. Everybody came running and saw tears coming from Peyton and Jaiden. Ginny asked the boys if they were ok and they assured her they were. "Do you remember Allison?" "Jaiden, you know I do, what is going on?"
"Ginny, Dale, Charley, there will not be twins as originally thought. Everybody had tears in their eyes at this point thinking something had gone wrong. "The reason Allison won't be having twins is that they found another boy today and Allison is having triplet boys. Everybody started hooping and hollering and Ginny started dancing like she was in the spirit at church. Tonight there would be one huge celebration at Tony's.
Everybody got to Tony's at 6. Peyton had called and made reservations for everybody. When they arrived at the restaurant, Phil took their drink orders, retrieved the drinks, and then took their food orders. Jason got the eggplant casserole as did Peyton, Dale, and Charlie. Jaiden, Allison, and Pete shared a large all meat pizza with Ginny and Gampy.
When the food came out, Phil commented that everyone looked so happy and asked what was going on. Pete spoke up and said, "we are having triplet boys, not twins. Everybody in the place started applauding. Phil made sure we all got a sundae to celebrate. Jason got strawberry and chocolate, the amigos, Gampy, and Ginny, got pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, and chocolate. Pete and Allison got plain vanilla ice cream.
Everybody went to the Riley-Reynold's home for horderves and coffee and to sit and talk for a while. Jaiden asked Pete if he minded him inviting the Kravitz clan over. Pete said, "Please, by all means, invite them over. Pete called the Rabbi and told him everybody was at their house eating cheese and crackers with coffee and asked if the Rabbi's family could come over. The rabbi said to let him ask Nancy. He came back to the phone and said we are on our way over.
When the Rabbi came over, he immediately noticed the upbeat atmosphere and asked what was up.
Pete looked at the Rabbi and asked, "Rabbi, how many bris ceremonies can you perform in one day at the temple. The rabbi said he could easily do two bris ceremonies in a morning. Pete asked, "how about three?" The Rabbi's chin hit the floor with that comment and he said, no, you are kidding me, right?" "Not in the least Rabbi, we learned today we will be having triplet boys instead of twins." "All the men stood and began a celebratory dance around the coffee table. The dance lasted several minutes until it stopped and all the men hugged in Jewish tradition.
Pete and Allison said that since everybody was together, they had an announcement to make. So everybody knows, there will be Abraham Jaiden for Jaiden and his late Dad, Peyton Charles, after Peyton, and Andrew Dale after Charley and Dale. We had to get Charley's name in the mix and since Andrew is Charley's middle name, for the third boy we chose Andrew Dale.
