Lesbian

After dinner, courtesy of Lee's Chinese take-out we cleared up the containers. I got the bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon that I scoffed from my parents and poured us each a glass.

I kept thinking, she has to know my feelings for her. As my lips found the edge of my glass, the warmth of the red elixir greeted me. As it wrapped its delicate flavor around the creases of my mouth I looked on to the object of my affections gingerly.

No amount of time would or could change the way she made me feel.

"Cass, Cass!" Katherine spoke waking me from my daydream.

"Yeah!" I said sensing the red rise in my cheeks.

"Whatever you're day dreaming about give me a piece of it too! You seem really into it."

"Oh, it's nothing really" I said attempting to conceal my true thoughts.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. I got up to answer it while Katherine got up to settle herself on the bed.

As I opened the door I was greeted by a case of beer and Ted's smiling face. Ted was my ally on the dorm floor. Okay I'm lying, put Ted and me together and we were shear terror. My grin got huge and just as quickly faded. He saw it.

"What? You don't like beer all of a sudden?"

As he came barging him, it didn't seem to phase him that there was a table with flowers and candles lit, not to mention soft music serenading us in the background.

"Hey Kath, what's going on? Ready for a drunken filled night of stupidity." He said making himself comfortable on the bed beside her.

I half expected her to get up and come up with some excuse to leave because, well first of all she's not the type to get drunk over beer or any alcohol for that matter. Secondly, she knows how rowdy Ted and I can be when were together drinking. To my utter surprise, she glanced at Ted smiling. In true Katherine style she said: "As long as you have clean glasses to drink from pass me a beer."

"Well alright!" Ted said leaning over the case of Steam Whistle and passing one to both of us.

Ted was a man's man. Played hockey, was on the wrestling team and was big enough to be the main spokesperson for any muscle mag. He was also the best guy to hang out with. He would give advice freely and he never felt like his masculinity was on the line if he mentioned that he really just didn't understand women.

While I was thinking about Ted and our relationship, I removed the evidence of my romantic dinner with Katherine. I was surprised though. Ted didn't seem the least bit out of place in this setting. He even asked me if there was anymore food!

I let go of my paranoia and sat down in front of them. I took a swig of my beer and looked over at Katherine to find her smiling at me. I returned the gesture.

Later that night...

After many beer, the remainder of the red wine and half the bottle of Glenfiddich we were all worse off. It was now about two o'clock in the morning and we had all but just about fallen asleep when Ted found some kind of super human energy and jumped up singing the familiar tune to Sounds of Music, or rather attempted to.

"Sooo lunga, phawell, Auf wiedersehn, gooda neyt, I hatea to go and leaf dis preetty slight."

Katherine and I must have been just as bad because I vaguely remember Oooing and Aaying his lack of singing prowess.

Just then, Ted leant forward kissing me on the forehead and said "Kiddo, dounch'a do anysings I woldn't do. Ochay!"

Making his way to the door, I got up and walked him.

"Ochay!" I said, he laughed and closed the door behind him singing.

I turned around to find Katherine lying curled up in my bed. I walked to the task light on my desk and turned it on. I then found the courage to turn around and walk back to the wall switch and turn the ceiling light off.

"Cass, help me", Katherine said whining.

Smiling inwardly, I turned around and stumbled over to her. Crouching down over the burgundy comforter that embraced her and resting my crossed arms on the bedside facing her I said:

"If you think I'm going to sit here and listen to you moan all night you have another thing coming."

Realizing not but a second later the double meaning of my rant I lowered my eyes hoping not to arise any suspicion on her part. Katherine looked at me with her glazed over eyes. Slowly, her delicate hand reached up and the back of it's beauty caressed the left side of my flushed cheek. I mustered the strength of a million and not sure of how or why this was all happening, I slowly crossed over wanting to feel the nearness of her. To feel what others have felt upon being touched by her hands. To finally earn the right after so many sleepless nights to make love to her.

My eyes searching hers, I found the answers to all my questions. My eyes never leaving hers, I reached for Katherine's face. Feeling my breath stop, I inhaled sharply, and ran my fingers over the fine lines that made up exquisite lips. For the first time, I met the sweetness of her kiss. Tentatively, we explored the taste of each other. Our mouths opened slightly and her tongue probed the inside of mine. When our tongues collided for the first time and I could feel her taste buds glide lazily over mine, my mouth begged to take up permanent residence in her mouth and never leave. I heard her moan softly and pull away from me. Knowing I wanted nothing more then to feel her kisses wash over me again, I reached for her. She gently put her hands on my shoulders to stop me.

"I don't want this to happen like this." she said catching her breath and leaning up on her elbows.

I knew very well what she meant. This was to be our first night, and after that kiss I knew she had longed for me in the same manner I had for her. She just didn't want to make love drunk. I on the other hand wasn't as forthright. For all the nights I spent dreaming what it would be like to touch inch followed by another slow inch of the wonder that made up her body, being drunk was a consequence I was willing to take.

"I've wanted you more than you could imagine and being with you right here and now doesn't change what I've wanted to happen right from the very beginning." I said trying to speak as the influence of alcohol was fast creeping into my speech.

Lying back down on the bed, she looked at me and took my hand in hers.

"Come to bed with me." she said.

That was all the reassurance I needed.
