Chapter 1

I came home to the blinking of my answering machine. I quickly walked over to the machine and punched the play button.

Beep. "This is the executive at The Firm in Los Angeles in response to the resume received from Christopher Thompson. We would like to inform you that we are greatly interested in your job query and welcome you to our team. Call us at 555-0076 to confirm and work out the details. We hope to hear from you soon." Beep.

I remembered faxing my resume to The Firm a few weeks ago and my heart practically burst when I heard I got the job. My old job was working as a buyer for the Young Men's and Men's departments in the East Coast chain of Bloomingdale's. I mean that is one hell of a job, but I got it because my father was on the board of executives, so it really wasn't that much of a challenge to get. This new job would get me working more in the photo shoot and entertainment area.

I quickly called the number and worked out all the kinks. I was living in New York, but getting a house in LA wouldn't be a problem with my parent's income and mine too.

"Would I be working with anyone specifically?" I asked.

"Well we were talking about letting you work with the Backstreet Boys since you were experienced in the Men's department. Will that be all right with you?" The man asked.

"Yes!" I said a little to excitedly.

"We are concerned about your age, though, we would like to speak to your references, would that be alright?"

"Weren't you going to do that anyway?" I asked seriously.

"Yes we were. Happy to hear you don't object. I hope to speak to you soon."

"Me too. When do I start?"

"The boys will be in the New York area in a few days for a press conference and a photo shoot."

"You will need to be arranging outfits for both of those appearances. I will tell my secretary to fax you all the information you will need as soon as possible."

"Thank you. I'm sure I will enjoy working for you."

The man hung up the phone and soon my fax machine was going at it, I picked up the first page and grabbed my silver rimmed glasses. The page read:

`Here is some information on the group as a whole and then on each individual member. Photos of the boys will arrive tomorrow at your home instead of in this fax for quality reasons. Call the office if you have any problems and/or questions.'

I let the machine work and went to the telephone. It would be hard to tell dad that I would be leaving my position at Bloomingdale's and I'm sure my mom would have some things to say also. I picked up the phone and dialed my parent's number. The maid answered.

"Hello?" Maria said.

"Maria! How are you?" I said excitedly. Maria had been with the family as long as I could remember and She had grown up with me. She was now a sweet old lady that cooked and cleaned like she was 20 years younger. I loved this woman like my mother.

"Chris! How have you been? I am fine, what could go wrong? Your father is a little under the weather, but other than that, everything is fine!" She answered in a chipper tone.

"I'm better than fine Maria, I got a new job, and I get to work with the Backstreet Boys! What do you think Dad will say?"

"You know how he is with you working at the store. I'm sure he'll have no problem with it as long as you're happy."

"I hope so, can I talk to him?"

"Sure you can, are you coming for dinner?"

"I'll try, well, yeah, I think I'll have to tell dad in person. Just tell him that me and Holly will be coming for dinner, and maybe Bailey too."

"Ok dear. See you tonight."

"You too Maria. I love you."

Chapter 2

I hung up the phone and went to the fax. It was finally done. I grabbed the papers and my keys and ran down to my car. As I neared my silver BMW, I grabbed my cellular phone and called my roommate Holly. As the phone rang, I hopped into my car and was on my way to the freeway.

"Hello?" I heard Holly say.

"Hey you. Do you want to come over to my parent's house for dinner tonight? I already told them you would."

"Well what can I say to that? Of course, I'll come over what are we having?"

"I don't know. Are you at your office?"

"Yeah, come pick me up. Bailey's here too."

"I'll be there in like 15 minutes. Bailey's coming too, so both of you get ready."

"Ok. See you soon."

Holly and I have known each other since seventh grade, and now that we were both 19, we decided to move in together about five months ago. Our friends were always teasing that we would get married one day, but we never paid much attention to that. We were closer than friends, but when I came out to her, we both realized we weren't meant to be. Hell, we knew that when we met in seventh grade. Holly was now an interior designer and she always took Bailey, our dachshund to her studio/office with her.

I arrived at the office and went up the steps to the second story where her office was. I knocked on the door and was greeted by Holly, her naturally curly brown hair tied back with a silver hair tie. Bailey quickly ran out and greeted me with a bark. I picked him up, gave him a kiss on the head, and put him back down. He was a little dog, and followed Holly and I everywhere we went that allowed him in.

"How was your day?" Holly asked with a tired tone.

"You sound like shit, personally, my day was great, and is about to get better."

"Just a lot of work to do today and plus the work I'm putting into out house isn't helping."

"You've been planning the house since High School, how hard could it be?"

"Trying to find things that are 100% white for a certain roommates bedroom isn't exactly simple." She said as she rolled her eyes at me.

It was true that I wanted my bedroom 100% white. Nothing of color, unless it could be avoided. I already had a metal-framed 4 post bed that Holly found for me and she painted it white. I had a bunch of white furniture and everything I needed, she was referring to nick-nacks that she loved to put all through the house.

"You seriously don't need to put little things in my room. Just a chair would be enough."

"Good. Then that's all I have to find. You'll get it by next week."

"That means we're almost done with the house, just your bathroom, right?"

"Yeah, but that'll be easy, a lot almost as easy as the all-white bathroom that you have."

"How hard is it to find all white bathroom stuff?"

"Whatever. Let's go. Come on Bailey!"

Holly grabbed her coat and I grabbed Bailey. I closed the blinds for Holly as she put some stuff away. We closed up her office and hopped into my car. We were on our way to my parent's house when we stared talking.

"So what made the day so good?" Holly asked, fixing her suede jacket.

"I get to work with the Backstreet Boys now."

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah, I get to be the fashion coordinator."

"You lucky bastard. When do I get to meet them?"

"I don't know, job starts in a few days."

"I hate you."

"Yeah, I knew you would."

She was a really big fan, we had gone to a concert together earlier, but we didn't have that good of seats and couldn't really enjoy the show. We talked together some more, and soon, we arrived at the entry gate to my parent's house, although it was more like an estate. We had a pretty big house, and I knew it when I rode horses in the back yard with Holly in junior high. The gate opened and I drove in. We arrived at the door and Maria let us in. I gave Maria a big hug and she pushed us into the dining room after taking our coats.

"Maria, you know you don't have to do this." I said as she hung it up. "Me and Holly are 19 now."

"Going on 20." Maria and Holly said in unison.

Holly and I walked into the dining room, followed by Bailey and were greeted by my mother and father. I hugged my mom and said `Hi' to my dad. We all sat down and Maria pushed a cart into the dining room. She lit the candles in the middle of the table and then poured my parents some wine. She gave me and Holly grape juice, an inside joke that my parents started when I was little. Holly always thought it was odd we were drinking juice out of wineglasses, but never said anything in front of my parents. She tried to be really polite in front of them like they were some millionaires, but we knew that we weren't and were constantly telling her to act like we were normal. Eventually, she got the hang of it.

"How's business, Holly?" My father asked.

"Well, a little to busy for my liking, but it ok. Our house is almost done, though."

"That's good to hear."

"Thanks Maria," Holly said as Maria placed a bowl of soup in front of her. "how are you doing, Karen?"

"I'm fine." My mother replied as she sipped her soup. "Where's Bailey?"

"Here at my feet," I said as I reached for my glass. I playfully nudged Bailey over to my mother with my foot. He obeyed and hopped onto her lap. She patted him lovingly and put him back onto the floor. He ran over to Holly and lay down at her feet. Soon soup was done and so was the main course. We all moved into the family room and Bailey jumped onto by lap.

"Dad, I got offered a new job today." I said lowly.

"Well, it's good to know other companies are trying to pull you away from Bloomingdale's." He said, smiling.

"I accepted." I said a little too loud. Bailey jumped off of my lap and ran to my mom.

"How could you do that?" My dad said, his expression was on of surprise and disbelief.

"Isn't your job good enough? The stock market isn't going to keep out family like this forever. Just because I'm an executive doesn't mean you can come back anytime."

"Dad, slow down. I know what's happening. I understand everything I did. My new job starts soon and I'm quitting my position at the store. I'm working for The Firm in LA." My dad's expression calmed down a bit. And asked, "What are they paying you?"

"Enough." Was all I said.

"Is this a permanent thing?" He asked more accepting of the fact I was leaving my position.

"I hope so." I said and sighed. The talk had gone better than expected. My mom changed the subject,

"Where are your contacts, dear, your eyes look so odd behind those glasses. They're so.light."

"My contacts are at home. My eyes started to hurt." I told her.

My mom was Chinese and my dad was Caucasian they met in high school and got married when they were in their second year in college. Being of such odd roots gave me unique features. I had black hair like my mom, but my eyes were light gray, like my great grandfather on my Dad's side. I looked kind of like a freak, but I usually wore brown or blue contacts to make me look a little more `normal.'

"What time is it?" Holly asked as she stretched and yawned. She was looking through a magazine that was on the coffee table while this little episode between my parents occurred. Praise the lord she didn't say anything. She had a knack for keeping out of conversations that she shouldn't be in.

"It's almost 11:30." I answered as I looked at my watch. "We should go."

"Yeah, lets go. Thanks Karen. Thanks Edward. It was great, as always." Holly said as she hugged each one of my parents.

"By mom, dad. Bye Maria!" I said as we walked out into the foyer. We grabbed our coats and I hugged my parents. "Come on Bailey!" I said. I grabbed the little brown dog and we walked out to my car. We put Bailey into the back seat and he soon fell asleep.

Chapter 3

We arrived home and I unlocked the door. Holly and Bailey walked inside and I looked the door behind them. Bailey walked into the living room and hopped onto the dark blue ottoman that he used as his bed. I smiled and hung up my coat. Me and Holly grabbed some cocoa and sat down to some TV. We flipped to MTV and watched some videos for roughly an hour. Christina Aguliera's came on and Holly said, "I like this song."

"Yeah, me too." I said. We watched the entire video and I turned off the TV.

"I'm going to bed." I said as I walked to the kitchen and washed out my mug.

"I'll do that for you." She said as she took my cup from me. She finished washing it as I walked to the bathroom. I showered and threw my clothes into the hamper into the laundry room. I put on some boxers and some flannel pajama bottoms and sat on my bed. I grabbed my old, ragged, stuffed Mickey Mouse that was on my white bed and hugged him close. I have had him since I was a month old, and I slept with him in my arm every night. I know it was childish, but I tried to give him p so many times and it never worked, I can't sleep without him. I think I got him from and aunt of mine. It was too far back for anyone to remember. I hugged him tighter and crawled under the covers. I turned off the light and was soon asleep.

I woke up and went off to the restroom that was adjacent to my room. I looked into the mirror and noticed I wasn't looking my best. I had bags under my eyes from the stress last night and the lack of sleep. I splashed my face and took a quick shower, got dressed and went into the kitchen. Holly and Bailey were already up, and Holly was cooking breakfast.

"What are we having?" I sleepily asked.

"How about pancakes? After all, it's Saturday, no work, right?" Holly asked.

"No work today. Dad's getting the crap out of my office and taking it to his house. Pancakes will be fine. Let me set the table."

I took out some plates and glasses and put them on the counter in the kitchen. We usually ate breakfast in the kitchen, and I grabbed Bailey's steel dog bowls. I filled one with water and the other with some dog food. I put it on the ground by the counter and went back to where Holly was.

"How'd you sleep." She asked.

"Like hell."

"It shows." She said laughing.

"You are so nice." I cynically replied.

I grabbed a carton of milk and some silverware and brought them out to the table. Holly followed with a stack of pancakes and gave each of us three. She gave one to Bailey too. As we ate, the phone rang.

"Who would call this early?" I asked her.

"Early? It's already twelve-thirty." She said back.

"Ok, so who would call any ways?"

We let the answering machine get the phone and continued eating. We could hear Holly's voice on the machine and the beep.

`Ummm, Chris, this is Kevin from the Backstreet Boys and the guys and me would like to welcome you to the Backstreet family. We want to know if you'd like to go shopping with us today around two. Call me at my cell phone if you do. Hope to see you soon, bye.' Holly and I couldn't believe what had just happened. I quickly called Kevin's cell phone and he answered in about two rings.

"Hello?" Kevin said.

"Kevin? This is Chris I'd love to go shopping with you, can I bring my friend?"

"Sure, we'll come pick you up at about two."

"How do you know where I live?"

"Management told us everything about you." His deep voice replied with a chuckle.

"See you then."

"Yeah, you too." I said.

I hung up the phone and Holly quickly asked, "What happened? Can we go?"

"Of course, they wouldn't offer and then turn us down when we agree."

"Ok. I have to get dressed." She said and then ran into her bedroom. I put the dishes into the sink and washed them. Then I put them in the rack and walked into my bedroom's closet. I picked out a pair of khaki pants and a blue tee shirt with an orange stripe across the chest. I grabbed my navy blue jacket and met Holly in the living room. By then, she had gotten dressed and was waiting for the boys to arrive.

"Damn." I said. "I am so dumb." I ran back into my room and got my watch, wallet, and cell phone. I sprayed some of my cologne under my tee shirt, and was back in the living room with Holly.

"Nervous?" She said.

"I'm shopping with my bosses, should I be?" I asked back. "You?"

"I'm just meeting my best friend's boss, I'm not nervous, but the fact that your bosses are the Backstreet Boys makes me kinda nervous."

The doorbell rang, and Holly quickly asked, "Who is it?"

"This is Kevin, the other guys are here too." Holly opened the door and Kevin quickly put out his hand. Holly took it in hers and they shook hands with smiles on both their faces.

"I'm Kevin, and you?" Kevin asked.

"I'm Chris's friend Holly. Chris is right here."

I put out my hand and we shook hands too. "Come in?" I asked.

"Sure, but only for a little, we have to get going soon." Kevin said. He motioned for the other guys to come out of the car and he stepped into the house. The rest of the guys came in and we introduced ourselves and so did they. We told them to sit in the living room.

"Nice house you got here Chris, want to show is around?" Brian asked.

"Sure, thank Holly for the house, she decorated the entire thing by herself." I told him.I stood up and we began our little tour of the house. I showed them the kitchen; the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms, and the back yard, which had a pool and a waterfall.

"Nice pool, can we go for a swim sometime?" Kevin said. He was so nice to me I was immediately feeling accepted by the guys and we felt like friends almost instantly. When we got to the music room, the guys seemed to enjoy it. It only had two music stands, Holly's viola, my cello, and our grand piano. All of which were from my parents when I moved out, and the viola was a present to holly when she opened her office.

"Now this is what every house should have." Kevin said. "You play?"

"I've played piano since I was 10 and cello since I was twelve." I said. "

"I've played viola since I was 6." Holly said.

"You should play for us someday." A.J. said.

"Someday." I replied.

We took them outside and she walked into the family room. Bailey woke up from his nap when he heard the small talk about the decor and other things in the room. As Kevin walked in front of me, I couldn't help but look at him. He was taller than I was. I was only 5 foot 11, about 6 with shoes on. He was about 6 foot 2 or something like that. I was drawn to his face, his high cheekbones and goatee. He was so hot. He caught me looking and I blushed. I looked away and grabbed Bailey.

"This is Bailey." I said as I handed him to Kevin. He licked Kevin's face and wagged his tail.

"Cute." Kevin said. "Let's get moving."

We walked out and decided that Kevin, Holly, and I would be in my car, and the other guys would be in Brian's. We were on our way when Kevin asked,

"What did you do before working for us?"

"I worked at Bloomingdale's." I said as I drove.

"How'd you get the house, the furniture, and this car from working at Bloomingdale's?" he asked.

"My parents. They work the stock market and my dad is an executive."

"Oh. That explains a lot." He said. We arrived at the mall and I fortunately got a parking space near the front. As we walked to the entrance, we noticed the other guys hunting for a parking space still. The lot was packed and they had to park way in the back. As Kevin watched them park with a huge grin on his face. Holly nudged me and asked,

"You have a crush on him." She said flatly.

"How couldn't I? He's so nice and he's hot too." I told her. Good thing Kevin wasn't really paying attention to us, or he would have heard me. The guys finally arrived and we walked into the mall.

"So Chris, what stores do you like?" Howie asked.

"Umm, I like Abercrombie, and the Armani Exchange mostly." I told him.

"Cool." He and A.J. said.

A.J., Howie, and Holly decided to go to some other shops and separated from the rest of us. Brian and Nick wanted to get some shoes so they split too, so that left Kevin and me to go about by ourselves. We shopped for about half an hour and were going into a fitting room when Kevin told me, "Chris, you've got good taste."

"Thanks." I said smiling.

Kevin and I tried on some things and I decided to buy a new pair of jeans and a couple of shirts. Kevin came out in a pair of cargos he wanted to get and asked me what I thought, "You look fine." I said smiling. He smiled back and changed back into his jeans. He decided to get the pants and we were on our way to the checkout counter. His hand brushed mine as he handed the girl his check, and we looked at each other. Kevin looked at me and blushed and I did the same. `God, this guy is too much' I thought.

We went to meet the others and on the way Kevin asked, "Chris, is Holly your girlfriend?"

"No, she is the farthest thing. We've known each other since we were like twelve and we just live together. We're really good friends. It would never have worked any ways."

"Why?" He asked.

"I have a hunch." I said. I stopped in my tracks and just stood there. "Kevin," I said. "I have to tell you this, I can't work for you if I don't."

"Ok, go ahead." He said.

"Kevin, only Holly knows this, and you've made me feel so comfortable around you, and I think you should know that I'm gay." I said as I felt the tears well up in my eyes.

"It's OK, Chris, I understand how it is." He stepped closer and grabbed my hand.

"How could you? You have no idea what I'm going through." I said harshly.

"I know because I've said the exact same words." He said softly.

"You mean..."

"Yeah, I'm gay." He grabbed my hand tighter and we hugged. He rubbed my back and we started back to the entrance that we came in to meet the others. The others had bags of their own, and we decided to put everything in the cars, since it was a weekday, the mall wasn't that crowded and the guys didn't get mobbed.

"What did you get?" Holly asked me.

"Pants and some shirts." I told her.

"Cool. Kevin?"

"Just some pants." He said.

"Ok. Are we going back to our house?"

"Yeah, I have to put my stuff away, then how about we go out to lunch?"

The others agreed and we went back to Holly's and my house. Holly asked to drive, and so me and Kevin sat in the back.

"Kevin, I have to tell you one more thing." I told him. "I think I'm falling for you."

"Chris, I guess that we're going to have to go do something, since I feel the same way about you." He said smiling. I found myself leaning in to him, and we locked into a kiss. My hand went to the back of his head and I pushed him in for more. He was such a good kisser. Holly coughed and we broke the kiss. She smiled into the rear view mirror and knew that we had hit it off. We arrived home and Kevin told me that he'd spend the night with Holly and me after he went to the hotel and got some clothes. We agreed and when the others arrived, we decided to order some pizza, since none of us really wanted to go out anymore. As we waited, they wanted to hear Holly and I play something, so we opted for playing a viola and cello duet. As we played I looked over at Kevin and he was smiling widely. As we finished the song, the doorbell rang and Bailey barked at the foot of the door. We opened the door and paid the delivery boy. Holly grabbed the pizzas and we put them in the dining room. I excused myself to the kitchen to get some glasses and I asked from the kitchen what everyone wanted to drink. I got a chorus of coke' and tea' from the guys and Holly, and milk' from Kevin. Wow,' I thought. I always had milk with pizza and nobody else did. I got the milk, coke, and iced tea, and as I walked into the room, Holly gave me a look and I knew that she was thinking the same as me. I smiled at her and put the glasses on the table. We all ate and Kevin told them about staying the night, `On business' he said. The guys agreed and soon after we ate, we sat down to a movie as Kevin left.

"What are we watching?" Nick asked.

"Well, I'm a big Julia Roberts fan, so how about `Stepmom?'" I asked the guys.

They nodded and I popped in the DVD disk. As the movie started, I went to the bathroom to take my contacts off and put my glasses on. I walked back to the family room and the guys were watching the movie with their full attention. I noticed A.J. asleep on the couch with Bailey asleep on his chest. It looked so cute. I sat down on the floor in front of A.J. and watched the movie along with the guys. Near the middle of the movie, Kevin came back and watched the rest sitting next to me. By the end, I was in tears, even though I watched this movie so many times before. Holly threw a pillow at me.

"Softy." She said. The guys laughed and started on their way out. It was late and they said that they'd be back tomorrow.

"I had fun today." Brian said. "We should do this again. He gave me a hug and whispered in my ear, "Good luck with Kevin." He released me and winked. I smiled and nodded.

I closed the door behind Howie, Nick, and Brian and turned back into the family room. I saw A.J. sleeping on the couch and picked up Bailey. I put him on the ottoman and ran upstairs to get a blanket. I put it over A.J. after I took his shoes off. I put his hat and glasses on the coffee table and ran upstairs to see Kevin. He was in the shower, and I changed into some white gauze pants and got ready for bed. Kevin walked out of the bathroom in his boxers. His chest was even more beautiful that I could have imagined. He smiled at me and pulled me into a kiss.

"Where am I sleeping tonight?" He asked.

"In here? Is that OK?" I replied.

"Yeah." He smiled at me and we kissed again. I ran my hand up and down his back and he pushed me down on the bed. We kissed more passionately and I ran my hands all over his body. His arms wrapped around me and he lifted my up and put me to his side. He pulled off and lied on his side next to me in the bed.

"I want to know everything about you." He told me

"Yeah, me too." I said.

"First of all," he started, "What's this?" He held up my Mickey Mouse. I took it in my arms.

"That's Mickey, kind of like my little brother. I never had one, but he kind of made p for it. He's as old as me, you know."

"And how old would that be?" He said.

"Nineteen. Going on twenty."

"No sisters or brothers, tell me more about your family."

"My mom's Chinese and my dad's white. Dad's an executive and mom stays home and keeps an eye on the stock market. I grew up at the house and I still go there a lot. I rode horses when I was younger and I met Holly when I was in the seventh grade. She was like a sister to me and we moved into this house that my parents bought for us about five months ago."

"Ok. Why is this room all white?"

"I worked at Bloomingdale's. I was surrounded by colors and clothes and I just needed to get away from everything at home. The room helps, but it drove Holly crazy. Do the guys know that you're gay?"

"Yeah, but they're the only ones. You've only told Holly, right?"

"Yeah, but I have to tell my parents soon."

Kevin and I talked for about three hours about each other, and our lives. It was about four in the morning when Kevin noticed that I was asleep.

"Good night, Chris." Kevin kissed my forehead and pulled the covers over him and me. He put an arm around me and noticed that Mickey was in my arms. He smiled and lay his head on the pillow.

Chapter 4

Kevin awoke first, his arms still around me, and I was still asleep. He carefully took his arms out from under me, trying not to wake me.

"Kevin?" I said with my eyes still closed. I turned my head to look around at him, and he smiled at me.

"I'm here." He said. He gave me a hug and then kissed me on the forehead.

"What time is it?" I said, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"About noon. We should get ready, the guys should be coming soon."

"Ok, let me get a shower, and I'll be right out."

I went to shower and I quickly brushed my teeth and did my hair. When I was done, I saw Kevin, asleep again on my bed and I smiled when I saw that he was holding Mickey. I went into my closet and grabbed an outfit. The guys haven't seen me with my gray eyes, so I went back into the bathroom and put in my contacts. I walked back over to the bed and shook Kevin lightly.

"Kevin. Kevin wake up." I said softly. It didn't work, he was still asleep and didn't even move a muscle. I leaned down and kissed him on the lips. I felt a hand come up and push me in for a deeper kiss and I felt a tongue enter my mouth. I welcomed it and soon, His mouth welcomed mine. I pulled off, smiling at Kevin who was getting up.

"Go shower." I told him. He nodded and walked into the bathroom. I made the bed and walked into the kitchen. As I passed the family room, I noticed that A.J. was awake and that he had put away the blanket, or maybe Holly put it away. I stepped into the kitchen and saw Bailey. I picked him up and saw Holly boiling some water.

"What are you making now?" I asked.

"Green tea, want some?"

"Sure. Where's A.J.?"

"He's showering."

Just then, both A.J. and Kevin walked into the kitchen. I wanted to go kiss Kevin but decided not to since Holly and A.J. were in the room.

"Go ahead." I heard A.J. say. "It's obvious that you two are an item. Why else did you guys sleep in the same bed last night?"

I looked at him and smiled. He smiled back and then came up to me and took Bailey out of my arms. I turned around and gave Kevin a kiss. We hugged and then Holly gave everyone a mug of tea. We sat around the table and waited for the other guys to arrive. While doing that, we made small talk and I realized I would have to run out and get a few things today. Another errand to add to my list.

The other guys came and we walked out to the cars. `Same seating as yesterday,' or so that's what Nick wanted. A.J. hopped into my car this time and we drove to the restaurant. When we got there, we sat down to a table and ordered our food.

"What did you guys do last night?" Nick asked smiling at Kevin.

"Nothing. Just talked about the photo shoot and the press conference." Kevin quickly answered.Nick turned to me and said, "Are you gay?" The question threw me off guard and I nearly choked on my water. I regained my composure and simply said, "Yes." I turned to the other guys who gave me comforting looks and when I looked at Kevin, I got a shocked look.

"I guess that brings up the total to six people." I joked with myself.

"That was very strong of you to just go out and say it. Chris, I'm proud of you." Holly said.

The other guys agreed, and the waitress came out with our food. We ate and soon were outside the restaurant and I told the guys and Holly, "I have to run some errands. Holly, my parents' house for dinner, OK? I'll see you guys soon."

"I'll come with you." Kevin said. "Me too," Holly agreed.

"Whatever." I said. The three of us got into my car and drove to the bank. I got some money out of the ATM and got back into the car. The next stop was the office supplies store, and this time Holly and Kevin decided to come in.

"What do you need here?" Holly asked.

"Five binders and some pens." I said. Kevin understood and helped me find the things. We paid for them and then we went to the car again.

"Why did you need five binders?" Kevin asked.

"One for each of the guys, for all the info I got on you guys and then I needed to keep some of the ideas I have in there too."

"Where are we going now?" asked Holly.

"Home, I have to drop this off and then we'll go to my parents and maybe we can go horseback riding."

We got home and I threw the stuff in my bedroom. I grabbed Bailey and got back into the car with Kevin and Holly. I gave the dog to Holly and we drove to my parents. I picked up my cell phone and then dialed my parent's house.

"Hello?" Maria answered.

"Maria, I'm coming over in about ten minutes, so tell mom and dad we'll be there early, and that we're going to take the horses out. Set up Skyler and Morgan, and one extrafor another friend, ok?"

"Ok Chris, see you soon."

"Bye Maria. Thanks."

I hung up the phone and put it back in my pocket.

"Who's Maria?" Kevin asked.

"My nanny slash maid." I replied.

We got to the house as soon as I said that and the gate opened for us. I drove in and then we walked up to the door. I knocked and Maria opened the door.

"Hi Maria!" I said and gave her a hug. Holly said hi and so did Kevin.

"Who is this young fellow?" asked Maria.

"My friend Kevin." I said.

We walked into the house and Holly put Bailey down. He ran directly to my mom. We followed him and I introduced Kevin to my mom. Dad was at work, and I told mom that we would be riding. She would take care of Bailey for the time being. We thanked her and walked out to the stables. Holly and I grabbed out riding equipment and I handed Kevin a spare set. We walked over to the horses. I showed Kevin the horses and he smiled. Holly and I got on our horses, Morgan for her, and Skyler for me. Kevin got onto my mom's horse, Amy. We rode into the small wooded area behind the house and we rode for a few minutes before we started to talk.

"These horses are great." Kevin said.

"Yeah, always here when I needed to relax." I said smiling at Kevin. I knew he loved to ride and at this moment, Kevin and I were the happiest people on earth. We had love and happiness.

"Let's go to the clearing." Holly suggested. Holly and I had a clearing with a tree house that we used when we were little. We rode there and tied up the horses. The three of us sat on the grass and talked for a little. It started to get dark and we started towards the horses. Kevin leaned in for a kiss that I happily gave to him. We rode back to the stables and then we walked into the house for dinner.

"Mom, you know Kevin. Dad, this is my friend Kevin. He sings in the music group the Backstreet Boys."

"Hello Kevin. Please come into the dining room for dinner." My father said, offering his hand to Kevin.

"I'll be happy to." Kevin said as he shook my dad's hand. We all walked into the dining room and sat down to dinner.

"Kevin, should I tell them today?" I whispered to him.

"That's up to you, Chris."

We ate dinner, the whole time talking. Kevin told my parents about himself and the music business and they told him about the stocks and investing. Soon dinner was done and as usual, we walked into the family room. After everyone sat down, my mom started talking to us about her fundraiser.

"I have a fundraiser next week and I would love it if you and Holly would play a duet, Chris. Maybe Kevin could join and make it a trio?"

"I'm sure me and Holly will play something, how about you, Kevin?" I said.

"Sure." Kevin said. "We'll pick out a song tonight when we get home." He smiled at me and then mouthed, "tell them."

"Mom, dad, I have something to tell you." I slowly said.

"Yes dear?" My mother said in a soothing tone.

"For as long as I can recall, I've known that I was different from everyone else. Mom, dad, I'm telling you now.I'm gay."

Surprisingly, Holly got up and left the room and my parent's faces didn't show any expression. "Chris," my mom said, "Holly told us that you were gay as soon as you told her. We've known all along."

"You should have told us a long time ago." My father said.

"Mom, dad, I love you." I said and gave them a hug. I was on the brink of tears and was so glad they took it so well. "I'd like you to meet my boyfriend Kevin." I said.

He stood up and we kissed. Kevin talked to my parents for a little and I went to go find Holly. I found her in one of the guest bedrooms and sat down next to her on the bed.

"Thanks Holly." I said to her.

"I hope that you're not mad at me." She said somberly.

"I'm glad you told them when you did. Thanks again. Let's go home."

We walked downstairs and met my parents and Kevin in the family room.

"We got to go now mom, dad." I said. "See you soon."

Kevin shook their hands again and said his good-byes. I picked up Bailey and handed him to Holly. I hugged my parents and we walked out to the car.
