Chapter 6:
To anyone walking into the lobby at that moment, the man sitting in the wheelchair was quite obviously nervous. He kept fidgeting and looking around, an expression that was bred of shock and worry painted the canvas of his handsome face. His green eyes shone out of his face, his black hair cut short, was tousled and in disarray. His strong, square jaw-line and seemingly sculpted chin conveyed a sense of immense strength, and to anyone looking, they'd swear that this gorgeous hunk of man sitting in the wheelchair was definitely taken. No one that beautiful went lonely for long. A couple of them looked longingly, extendedly, from strategic, furtive positions behind newspapers or magazines. Mike would have been surprised to know that both men and women were staring at him as if enthralled by something. To them, he seemed so... beautiful. It was inexplicable- but the fact remained that they wanted to just touch him- his shoulder that was in the blue and white sling, his stubbly face, his luscious red lips... anywhere on him, as long as it was contact with him. And in a daze, a few had even started forward, only to stop themselves when realizing that they were actually moving, and it was NOT a dream. Mike was completely oblivious to all this, and kept an agitated watch out for his "date."
The lobby door opened, and in walked this 6'4" tall, 230-pound frame of a man with brown hair. He had dark brown eyes, an olive complexion, and stood there for a moment, silhouetted by the overhead lights as though he were an unearthly being- an angel, really. The frame began to move, and more people turned to look discretely at his impressive stature. He was wearing a blue tee shirt under his leather jacket, and tight blue jeans- so very tight, blue jeans. His thighs strained the material with their impressive girth, and his calves were long mounds of chorded muscle. Mike hadn't seen him enter the room, but when he turned his head, he stopped in shock, mouth open and eyes wide. He and Nurse Briggs gasped in unison. This man was HOT. Dear goodness, this man was on FIRE!
"Hi Michael. How are you feeling? You ready to go?" Anderson smiled, to which Mike shuddered. There had to be some catch to this arrangement- it was too good to be true.
"Detective... Anderson... I'm... uhm.... Ready... whenever you are..." Mike stammered. He blushed at the double entendre of his last statement, and then wondered for a brief second if he really WAS ready? He could drown in this.
"When I'm off duty, I'm John, not Detective, ok Mike?" John Anderson flashed Mike that smile again, and then looked up to Nurse Briggs. She was still clenching the bars of the wheelchair in a tight, white knuckled grip, and staring openly at John's crotch. The thoughts running through her head, a mother of three and wife to a man who at the moment was at home and alone... She shook her head, and looked up to find the Detective's eyes resting on hers, a smile tickling the corner of his mouth. Her eyes widened, and she knew she'd been caught, but that didn't bother her.
"Well sweetie, if you put it out on display, you're going to be bound to attract a few window shoppers, you know what I mean?" She confessed with a twinkle in her eyes. She knew that as soon as Mike had been dropped off, her shift was over, and she was going home to her husband and kid-less house for a few hours of intensely pleasurable sexual relations. It'd been a while, and she'd let her husband off the hook long enough. There was no escaping her tonight..
John burst out laughing, and Mike snorted, embarrassed and immensely humored that Nurse Briggs was such a bold lady. She bent down to him, and kissed him on the cheek, and wished him the best. She also told him to contact her in case of anything, to which he replied that he'd make sure she was on duty when he went back to have the stitches removed. He then rose from the wheelchair, and took a step towards John Anderson. He wasn't looking where he was going, and tripped over his own feet, and into the Detective's outstretched arms. He bounced against a firm, muscled chest, and felt the ribbed tautness of the man's obvious six pack. The heat that emanated from the Detective's chest... his smell- cologne, deodorant, and something sweet... like vanilla... Mike groaned, felt himself swelling in his pants to bursting proportions. John held him back gently, looking into his eyes.
"You haven't hurt yourself, have you?" he asked softly. Mike couldn't speak- he only shook his head no, and then, unconsciously pushed against the Detective's arms, and returned back into the warm embrace, eyes closed, lips curled in a smile of pleasure. They stood that way a few moments, and then Mike came back to with a snap- he was standing in the lobby of the hospital, Nurse Briggs somewhere still behind him, all of the people in the lobby staring, quite openly, at the two men hugging, and his erection was pushing against the Detective's ribbed stomach. However, at this point, Mike was sick of being embarrassed, and without a word, disengaged himself from John's arms, patted his chest with his good arm, smiled, and then stood back.
"Thanks, John."
"The pleasure was all mine, Michael" John said, looking intensely into Mike's eyes. Mike found he couldn't break away from this man's eyes. They reeled him in. Though he wasn't sure what was going- maybe the Detective was just being friendly- helping out a victim in need... then again...
They set out, headed off towards the Detective's car. Mike wasn't sure what to expect, and lost in his own thoughts, it took him a few minutes to realize that Anderson was holding onto the crook of his elbow, and literally escorting him. Mike guessed that could be ok. He was lulled out of his dream-like reverie by John announcing that they'd arrived at his car. Mike looked down to see a... a Volvo?? He looked up, somewhat puzzled. This huge hunk of detective drove.... A Volvo??? Mike had expected some sort of red, suped-up mustang... or a motorcycle even... but... a Volvo?? Anderson looked from Mike's face, and then back down to his car. A flush crept up along his neck, and he grinned.
"If you don't like it, then you can walk home. I'll just meet you there!" and with that he started to the other side of the car. Mike laughed, and chased after him, eyes shining. He caught up with the fugitive detective, and wrapped his good arm around the detective's waist.
"You don't get away that easy!!" he said, laughing into John's strong back. He was still laughing when John turned around, and laughed a little less when John wrapped his arms around his waist. He stopped laughing completely by the time John's face came inches from his own, his warm, sweet breath painting Mike's cheeks.
"I hope that's true, Michael. I really do" John said softly, and gently pulled Michael to his face. Michael resisted, his lips an inch apart from John's, and looked at those beautiful red lips, beckoning, calling to him to just give in- taste them, taste the sweetness of them, and think later. Just touch them... just to... touch them...
And he gave in- his lips found John's lips, and he inhaled sharply as John's tongue found its way into his mouth, and lovingly caressed his own. John was so sweet- sweet and hot inside- so tasty. His eyes were closed, and he was losing himself- falling into the madness of the moment- where nothing existed, not John, not the hospital, not himself- just this kiss. This kiss was electrifying- his cock expanded down his leg, throbbing, and when John gripped him harder, and shifted the kiss, Mike just exploded in his pants. He knew the orgasm had been coming, but he still hadn't been prepared, as his nuts contracted to spaces within his body, and his cock throbbed over and over and over and the warm cum slammed down his tube and into his borrowed jeans. He tensed, and ground into John, almost against his will, as the tickling sensation of his explosive orgasm rocked through him, and took over his body. He groaned, and something unleashed within him, and he pushed John back against the car forcefully, and ground his desperate, yearning, aching body into John. He wanted more- needed to have more- he was so hungry- hungry for affection, hungry for love... and as he opened his eyes and pulled back, the lust written clearly all over his face, he realized that he was hungry for this man. Not even the damp, warm wet in his underwear could tear him away from that realization. And John stared back, panting, wide eyed and in wonder at the animal that lived inside of the shell of the beautiful man that stood before him. What had happened? One second they were gently exploring one another's mouths, and the second after that, he had felt Michael's exploding cock throbbing seductively against his leg, and then the almost carnivorous kissing... Anderson felt extremely turned on at his core, but realized that he needed to exercise some restraint. Something about Michael... He wasn't ready, Anderson knew. Whatever was going on, Anderson could sense that Michael would push him away, fiercely, if Anderson got too close too quickly. And the kiss was just a sign of that. Something in Michael wanted to bust loose, but Michael has it so tightly under grips that if it broke out and Michael wasn't prepared, it could consume him... and anyone else nearby...
Mike looked down at his shoes, wanting the intimacy to end, and yet not wanting the intimacy to end. He knew he wasn't ready. It was simple. He wasn't ready. And he didn't know when he would be. He looked up again into John's eyes, searching- searching for himself in another man's eyes, searching for room for himself in this man's soul... and he couldn't see anything. What was he expecting? An easy answer? An angel tapping him on the shoulder, telling him that this man standing in front of him and exuding safety and security, yet these feelings overshadowed by the insecurity Mike felt, was the one? What exactly did Mike want? And what about what he had felt with Chris? Could all of these variables be answered with a kiss? Was it so simple? He wanted it to be, he knew, but he also knew that it wouldn't be so. No kiss could magically set everything straight- this was real life, not Snow White, and he was no princess laying about in a comatose state, waiting for the hot lips of his prince charming to come and breathe a kiss of life into his prostrate form.
Anderson could sense something being wrestled with inside of Michael- a turmoil that was bubbling beneath the surface of the man looking deeply into his eyes, searching for something. What was he hoping to see? He wasn't sure, but suddenly he felt a surge of... desire... he wasn't sure what had prompted him to speak, but before he even knew what he was saying, he was saying it.
"Michael... I know that we don't know each other that well... I mean... there are probably a lot of things about each other that we have to learn. But I want you to know that when I asked you on this date tonight, it was to open a door for us to get to know one another better. I... there's something about you... it makes me want you... but I don't know what it is. Right now it's just a feeling, and maybe in the end, that'll be enough. But I want to know more about you. I know you're hesitant... but please... please Michael... let me in... I want to come in and stay for a while." Michael's eyes widened at that moment, and he inhaled sharply. Anderson didn't budge- he stood there waiting for Michael to say something- to make his decision. Better to get it out in the open now, than to be rejected later on.
Mike stood there, arms still connected to John, feet still planted firmly on the ground, yet he felt like he was floating. John wanted to be let in... into what?! Mike's horror? The loneliness of his life? But he seemed so genuinely interested... And so suddenly it was all reversed- now John was looking into his eyes, searching for himself in them- for room for himself in Mike's life; and so suddenly, it was the princess having to kiss the sweet prince back.
"Stuff all this fairy tale nonsense, Dana," Mike told himself, "what do you want? Do you want to take the chance? Or do you want to hide forever behind your victimization? Do you really want to take a chance at being happy? What do you have to lose?" He shook himself, forgetting that he was still looking into the detective's face, into his eyes, with rapt attention. It was now or never- time to speak- time to decide- and he closed his eyes, trusted his heart, and opened his mouth to speak.
"I... I'm tired... John... of being alone... I want you to come in... and stay... but please... it's not easy for me... and I know that will translate into not being easy for you... I...," he paused, and his voice broke, and tears burst out of him from a well of self-pity that was20 years deep, "please John... please... I can't put this much pressure on anyone... you don't understand... and I don't know if it'd be fair of me to expect you to understand. You'd have to fight... fight so hard against me, and do you really want me to invite you into that? I'm so afraid of opening up, John, and getting rejected... I'm sorry- it's too much... I'm unloading too much... I'm..." And that was as far as he got before his sobbing made his words unintelligible, and he collapsed into John's arms, moaning and cursing and groaning. It was such a mixture of bitterness, sadness, longing and anger. Fucking hell he wanted this beautiful man... what would he really have to lose? But he knew the answer to that question before he even finished asking it. He'd lose everything else in his life.
Anderson looked down at the top of Mike's head, and couldn't resist the impulse to reach down and kiss the crown of his black hair. As his lips touched Mike's head, a growl came from one of them, he wasn't sure, and a passion surged in him. He needed to know more- the passion that he was feeling... it made him uncomfortable with its suddenness and intensity. He was sure that it wasn't entirely physical, but however far into the emotional that it extended, he needed to know. He needed to be sure that it wasn't a generic, "I-need-to-protect-the-weak" kind of situation. He'd done that before, mistaking pity for love. And he had to admit, if anything, Mike seemed to be deserving of all the pity that anyone could muster. But what was it? He tilted Mike's head back, and sank his lips down onto Mike's, tasting his salty tears, kissing him, his tongue licking Mike's lips with gentleness and persistence, trying to figure out the source of the sweetness in him. He kissed him, alternating between soft, gentle kisses, and commanding, passionate kisses, until Mike's tears stopped, and his breathing quickened. Anderson could feel Mike's rod straining down his leg, thumping in tune to the beat of, not Mike's, but Anderson's own heart, and that did it. He growled into Mike's mouth, and pulled back.
"I'm not letting you run away until I find out what it is about you that makes me want you so bad. You can hide all you want, Michael. But I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving, and you're going to give me a chance. Is that understood?" Mike's eyes widened again- this man spoke with such commanding force... he couldn't say now. Mike never thought of himself as less than masculine- in fact, masculine and feminine weren't terms that he found himself terribly concerned with, but at this moment, he knew that Anderson was exerting his male authority- demanding without apology for his desires. And Mike found himself, not so surprisingly, maybe, being unable to deny him. So when they found themselves seated in the car moments later, holding hands and staring out the windshield in silence, neither was too surprised. They were each lost in their own thoughts as to where this night would lead, and where the future lay in a road as rocky as the one they were about to start out their journey on.
