Lance Air Chapter 3
"Well I guess this is goodnight." Mike stated, as he and Lance stood at the door to his hotel room.
"I had an awesome time tonight and I wish it didn't have to end." Lance said as he leaned in for another kiss. Since that first kiss in the carriage the boys couldn't get enough of each others lips.
"Thank you for what was probably one of the most memorable dates of my life," Lance continued after the kiss. "I would love to do something tomorrow as well . . . that is if you enjoyed our evening together . . . I mean I didn't want to seem . . . " Lance was interrupted by another deep kiss.
"Yes I would love to do something tomorrow," Mike replied after separating from Lances lips. "I am only here for a few more days so we should make the best of the time we have. Maybe we can just hang out in the room tomorrow and have a nice dinner and talk some more. I so love just hearing you voice," Mike stated.
With that the two boys kissed a few more times and said their "good nights". Both men had a lot of information to process. It was like something out of a love story from the minute they met. Can it all be real and not some dream?
The next day flew by in flashes. Mike had breakfast with his crew told everyone about the date.
He even picked up the tab on breakfast to make up for ditching them last night for his date. Senior Flight Crews can get very close and this group was no exception. They had been flying together for almost three years. So they were in all rights a "family" as with any family they were happy to see a member so very happy. The entire crew saw Mike's break up with Jason and had to endure another Senior Purser while he took his leave to handle things. Nobody was happier then Kristen, though, she and Mike had been together since training. They were as tight as any two can be.
She popped into Mike's room to see how his preparations for dinner were coming."Hey hun, I thought I would check up on you and see how you were fairing on the outfit crisis," Kristen teased.
"Girl I could out dress you in a crashing plane. How do you think I am doing? I am fine even in those awful Navy Blue suites. However I could use a huge favor . . . I called room service and ordered dinner for two but I need to run to a store. I need to get some candles and flowers but I just don't have time could you take the hotel shuttle and do that for me?" Mike asked,
"Anything for you babe . . . assuming I don't scare the clerks with my outfit." Kristen pretended to pout.
"Aww babe you know I love you no matter how you dress . . . after all I have seen you without makeup," Mike said a Kristen playfully shoved him. "Thanks girl I will see you in a few."
After a nice shower and shave Mike heard a knock at the door. I was Kristen with about 10 gold candles and holders and two very beautiful bouquets of roses of every color.
"Sorry Mike but all they had were these multi colored bouquets left. I thought two would be nice. Since you have a suite . . . Mike hun are you with me here?" Kristen asked looking at a very pale white friend.
"Yea sorry it's just . . . I had a dream like this it is so wild. I mean the colors of the room and the mixture of flowers. Crazy huh?" Mike looked astonished.
"Well who am I to get in the way of dreams. I better go before the handsome prince arrives,"
Kristen giggled as she headed for the door leaving Mike in the exact same spot. This guy has got it bad, she thought as she left.
Meanwhile across town at another hotel a weary but still handsome Lance walked in from another day of long auditions. He had about an hour to be at the hotel and knew he needed to get in the shower and get ready. Lance took off his dark business suit and was in only his white boxer briefs. As he began to turn on the hot water, he began to think back on his earlier conversation with J.C..
"I understand you are experiencing something new and exciting Scoop, but take it easy so you had one good date don't put to much stock in it." J.C. sternly said these crushing words to Lance.
"Josh, I can't believe you would say something like that to me when I call with such great news,"
Lance replied as tears welled in his eyes. "Not one other member of the group's opinion means more then yours to me. But on this one you are wrong! I have to go back to auditions BYE!"
Lances thoughts dwelled on that conversation oh how he hoped J.C. was wrong. This wasn't something he knew much about. I mean everyone dreams of a "Love Story" but he had never actually had one. Oh well he knew all he could do was trust his instincts and take a chance just like he had done several years early when he boarded a plane as a favor to a friend to sing for a group that didn't even have a manger. He prepared for his date and called the front desk having the Limo sent around. His heart was racing as he rode to the hotel. Upon arrival he took the elevator to the 6th Floor and proceeded to Mike's room.
When the door opened Lance almost fell. Standing in the doorway was Mike who made his heart race and behind him was a room laid out like a familiar dream. Lance drew Mike in for a kiss before a word was said. They stood in this candle lit room in each others arms kissing as deeply as two could ever kiss. Lance could feel his weariness from the day slipping away and Mike could feel his anxiety about setting up a perfect evening slipping away.
"Hello," Mike fumbled out.
"I am so happy to see you," Lance replied.
"Well have a seat I ordered dinner for us . . . I hate to stick you with Italian again but it's all I knew for sure you liked." Mike said.
"It's so perfect just you and I, no screaming fans, no auditions no out side world just us," Lance again complemented as he kissed Mike.
The guys ate dinner and talked as had become the habit, each hanging on the others words. So much knowledge had been exchanged in such a short period of time. They both knew at the end of dinner this was unquestionably budding love but neither was brave enough to say something.
They stood on the balcony of the hotel room overlooking the Manhattan skyline wrapped in each others arms.
"Mike, can I tell you something without you thinking I am crazy?" Lance asked.
"Anything you want to ask . . . I never judge people by what they say. Our thoughts are what makes us unique and someone who shares their true thoughts is giving you the gist of trust." Mike replied as he kissed Lance to reassure his confidence.
"This night . . . I mean the whole room layout it's very familiar. I don't mean like I have done this before but I mean I had a dream just like this . . . "Lance stumbled for the words.
"You mean you had a dream about us . . . um . . . making love in a room almost exactly like this?"Mike answered in shock.
"Yes exactly a bed of gold and the gold candles . . . the multi colored roses . . . all of it" Lance replied in just as much shock.
"Lance, I had the same dream the night we met when I got back to the hotel, the bed was flying and I felt so right in your arms." Mike said.
"That's exactly it . . . this is so crazy. Michel, I know we have only been seeing each other a few days . . . but I know this for sure I am falling in love with you. I want us to be together." Lance confidently asked.
"I would love to be with you Lance, it will involve a lot of work with us being all over the world but it will be worth it. I am falling in love with you as well." Mike replied.
Lance and Mike basked in the glow of their new relationship and new future together all night.
They held each other on the balcony and slept in each others arms. Nothing felt so right. Each wondered what their friends' reactions would be, how Mike's flight schedule and Lance's music career would affect them. But each time these thoughts would arise they would look at each other and everything felt right. They had already begun to draw strength from each other. This was something forecast and they had no question about it.
TO BE CONTINUED
Hey everyone! Sorry this chapter took so long but as some of you know my life has been kind of crazy. I promise Lance Air will be returning to the skies on a more frequent basis. I have many plans for this story after all this is just the beginning. As always, I love to here your reactions.
Special thanks to Jeremy and Nate for being there during this trying time in my life. Most off all for reminding me of how many great people writing this story has exposed me too.
