Hey all you out there! Sorry about the long time between updates, but I had some serious stuff to consider... like whether or not to continue this series. I love writing it, but I get most of the pleasure out of reading what you guys out there have to say about it. That's what makes me want to write... and continue writing. Anyways... I didn't get much of a response out of the last chapter... and the chapter before that, so I was very unsure.
Luckily for you all out there, two very good friends of mine convinced me to continue writing. So, right now, I want to thank Frank (check out his story Lance's Liason) and Matt. You guys really made me see that people do read my stories, they just don't necessarily respond. So, one big THANK YOU. Now, I have a huge favor to ask. Please respond to this chapter. I might just stop writing this story if i'm not motivated... and that means no more chapters. So, e-mail me at Gemmini999@aol.com and put Lance's Song in the subject area. thank you all in advance!
now, on to the standard disclaimier. this story is pure fiction and doesn't represent any of the sexualities of the members of N Sync.
enough of this... go read!
Chapter 4~ Lance's Song
The guys continued to stare at Tyler in shock, while Lance mumbled under his breath, "Your daughter?" Tyler heard the question and realized, quite suddenly, that the guys didn't understand. He quietly began to laugh. Chris looked at him as if he was insane.
" Hold up. I explained wrong. I didn't mean my actual daughter, she's my god-daughter. Her mother lives with me, as does she, and I consider her my daughter. She is emotionally... if not biologically." Tyler explained. The others nodded.
" Ahhhhhhh." Justin said, smiling.
" So, her names Megan?" Chris asked, interested.
" Yeah, Megan. I usually call her Meggers though. I'd invite you guys to meet her, but I have a feeling she's out eating ice cream this very minute with Jenny... I think you guys met Jenny, right?" Tyler asked. Lance nodded.
" That's cool." JC said. "IT's not like we aren't going to have a chance to meet her, is it?" He asked. Tyler shook his head.
"You guys are going to be seeing her so often you'll be sick of her..."
Lance shook his head. "Not us. We love little kids."
" Speak for yourself Poofoo." Joey shot at him from across the room. "Little kids always seem scared of me..." He scratched his head, thinking about it.
"Could it be your hair man?" JC asked, laughing. Joey nodded.
"That's probably it. But still..." Justin just laughed.
" Joey, can it." JC said from across the room. "Can't you see that Tyler's uncomfortable?" Joey nodded and looked apologetic at Tyler. He just laughed it off.
" Do you guys want to join me for lunch before you head back to your hotel?" he asked, glancing at Lance. For some reason he wanted Lance to join him the most.
" Sorry Ty, but I can't." Justin said. "Chris and Joey challanged me to another game of B- ball. They love getting their asses whooped!"
" Hahaha. We're going to make you eat those words!" Chris said, standing up and hitting his chest. The rest of the group laughed at their antics.
" And they need a ref, which takes me out." JC said, laughing at Chris still.
" How bout you Lance? Wanna get something?" Tyler asked. Lance thought about it for a minute. He didn't really like Basketball, and Tyler did seem like a nice guy. He'd probably have some fun.
"Sounds great." He said. The others nodded, and slowly they left, after bidding Lance and Tyler good bye. Tyler reminded them that they had to be in the studio the next morning at 7... that was met with a little groaning and a lot of mumbling under their breath's. He thought he heard Justin say something about shooting management... but his ears could be wrong.
" So Lance, ready to head out?" Tyler asked, once the two were alone in the room.
" Yeah. Let me grab my jacket though." He said.
" No, I was going to make you go outside in that shirt...without a jacket. Just to see you freeze." Tyler joked. Lance laughed a little.
" So, is Megan going to come with us?" He asked quietly, after grabbing his coat from the back of his stool.
" If she wants to. I think she will if I throw Mc Donalds into the picture. That is, if you don't mind Mc Donalds."
" Mind Mc Donalds? Hell, I practically live there." Lance said, laughing a bit. Tyler laughed also and smiled.
"Then I think we have another person joining us for lunch." He said. Then he turned around and walked out of the studio, with Lance following close behind. After entering the room where Megan was, he was surprised to see her sitting there, smiling at Jenny and playing with her care bear.
" Hey Meggers." He said. She began to stand up and run over to him, screaming all the while, "Daddy!"
Lance stood behind Tyler, a little unsure of what to do or say. Jenny noticed this and motioned for him to enter the room. He did, and watched Tyler with Megan for a few minutes. Looking at the pair you'd never think they weren't father and daughter.
" Hey Meggers. Have fun with Jenny?" He asked. She nodded excitedly.
" Jenny painted my fingers!" She said, excitedly.
" Really, let me see!" Tyler said, a little dramticlly, but Megan didn't seem to notice. She was proudly holding up her now pink finger nails. Tyler ohh'd and ahh'd over them for a few minutes, telling Megan how grown up they made her look. Then he took her small hand in his and turned towards Lance.
" Hey Megan, I want you to meet someone. This is Lance." He said. She nodded and let go of her fathers hand. Running up to Lance, she immediately began to bombared him with requests.
"Pick me up!" She commanded. Lance complied, laughing a bit. She smiled.
"Your nice. Daddy..." Megan said, turning her head. "He's nice!" she whispered the last part, almost as if she was telling a secret.
" Know what?" Tyler said, whispering back. " I think so too!" Megan giggled and turned back to Lance.
" My daddy thinks your nice, but shhhhhh. It's a secret!" She whispered. He nodded.
"Can I tell you as secret too?" He asked. She nodded solomly. He leaned in and began to whisper something in her ear, causing her to giggled. After he finished she asked to be set down and immediately ran over to Tyler.
"Daddy!" She cried, holding up her arms to indicate that she wanted to be picked up. He did and she looked at him with her adoring eyes. " Can I tell him?" She questioned Lance, and he nodded. She looked back at her father and cupped her hands, preparing to tell the secret to him. He leaned forward and she began to whisper what Lance had told her.
" He said that I'm as pretty as a princess, and that my mommy must be beautiful also!" She said, intending to whisper but was a bit louder. Jenny began to chuckled quietly, knowing Tyler would have a feild day analyzing that statement.
" You know what? He's right." Tyler said, making Megan grin.
" How about we go to lunch now?" Lance propositioned. " my stomach's rumbling."
"Ohhhhhhh. Can I hear?" Megan said, causing everyone to laugh a little while Lance just stood there, amused.
" Megan takes everything very literally . If you told her that she was a chicken, she'd go around clucking for a week at least." Jenny explained. Lance nodded, knowing he had to be careful of what he said around her.
" My stomach's not really rumbling, I'm just hungry." Lance explained. Megan nodded and motioned for her father to put her down. After being set on the ground she took Tyler's hand and turned around to reach for Lance's, but was disappointed that it was to far away.
"Lance!" she whined, holding out her hand waiting for him to link his hand with hers. He grinned and immediately stepped forward.
" Hows that your majesty?" He asked, after grabbing hold of her hand.
" Am I really a majesty?" Megan asked. Lance laughed a little.
" To me your a princess..." He said. Megan giggled and looked at her father.
" No...not a princess, a queen." he said. Megan then glanced back at Lance and he nodded.
" Your father's right. Definately a queen. Not an ordinary princess." He said. Megan looked at them both satisfied, then began to giggled.
" Lance... my stomach's rumbling just like yours did!" she said, making everyone in the room laugh.
" How about we go get some food then?" Tyler suggested. Megan nodded and started pulling the two of them towards the door. Lance laughed and followed.
" Where too?" Tyler asked, knowing Megan was going to say Mc Donalds. He was right. No sooner was the question asked then Megan screamed "Mc Donalds!"
" Alrighty then!" Tyler said, leading the group out of the building. They looked quite odd, a man, a little girl, and a pop star all holding hands, but they didn't really care. Once they reached Tyler's car, they dropped hands.
" How about we move your car seat Meggers?" Tyler asked, opening the front door and unbuckling the seat. She began to climb into the front seat anyway, but Lance stopped her.
" Hey Megan, I think you need to sit in the special seat that has Winnie the Pooh on it." He said. She looked at it, situated in the back seat, and nodded.
" Winnie." She said. With a little assisstance from Lance, she climbed in and was buckled in no time.
" Do you want to play in the play area also?" Tyler asked. Megan nodded over and over again, until Lance stilled her chin.
" I'll take that as a yes." Tyler said, climbing into the front seat and starting up the car. The radio was on and immediately music filled the interior. Megan twitched nervously in her seat, not really liking the loud music that was playing.
" trian song!" she shouted, causing Tyler to groan a little.
" Megan, honey. I don't have that tape with me." He explained. That didn't calm her. It made her screams louder.
"Train song. Train song!" She screeched over and over again. Lance looked in back, and immediately turned the radio off.
" hey Megan, why don't we sing the train song?" He asked. She stopped screaming for a minute and thought.
"No, you sing!" she commanded. Lance looked at Tyler helplessly. Tyler just shrugged his shoulders and Lance began a rather enlongated version of I've Been Working on the RailRoad. After the tenth verse Tyler pulled up in front of Mc Donalds. Lance stopped singing and helped Megan out of the car. Just as he set her down, Tyler grabbed his shoulder.
" Hey Lance. Thanks for singing to Megan in the car. It really helped."
" Hey, no problem man. I like her, she's sweet." Lance replied, his eyes never leaving Megan. She was sitting on the concrete infront of Mc Donalds, playing with her shoe laces.
" Still. It was really nice of you. I'm sure your throat hurts now." Tyler said. Lance just shook his head.
" relax man, it was no big deal. My thoat can take it. Now why don't we go get that little lady some food?" He asked, nodding towards Megan. Tyler nodded. He needed some time to think. Rachel knew he was gay, so did his mom. But those were the only two people who he trusted. They would have a feild day if he told either of them about how he was thinking of Lance... but still. He needed to tell some one. With that in mind, he decided to talk to Rachel later that night, after Megan was asleep.
Breaking his train of thought, he noticed that Lance and Megan were standing on the side walk waiting for him. Grinning sheepishly, he headed towards them. He apologized for drifting off to space, but neither acknowledged it. They acted like nothing had happened... which of course, they both thought was true.
Once inside, Megan decided she wanted Chicken McNuggets and a toy. Tyler groaned inwardly when he heard those words. Rach was going to kill him... again! She had made him promise no more Mc Donalds for a week because Megan had thrown a fit for a babysitter... but Tyler never really payed attention. He was the god-father. It was his job to spoil her after all!
Tyler ordered the chicken for Megan, a Mcfish for himself and a big mac meal for Lance. Tyler was a semi-vegetarian. He didn't eat chicken or beef... his mom had made him eat fish while he lived with her and it was just easier to continue to eat fish now that he was on his own.
After the three of them found a table and settled down to begin to eat their food, Megan noticed something strange. All the girls in the place seemed to be staring at Lance.
" Daddy! Why are all those people staring at Lance?" She questioned. Tyler groaned. He hadn't thought of fans, and sure enough, the entire place was filled with teenage girls.
" hey Lance, whatcha want to do?" Tyler asked, ignoring Megan's question. He glanced around and knew he was going to have a sore hand when this was all over.
" I'll sign some autographs... I guess. I'll wait until you two are done eating though, so you can play in the balls while I'm busy." He said. Tyler just looked at him amazed.
" All of them? Why don't we finish eating, and you can sign a couple, then use Megan as an excuse to go home?" He questioned.
" I really don't like to disappoint all the fans. I can handle this many but not to many more." Lance explained. Tyler nodded. This guy was doing it all! He was so self sacrifing. No wonder he was beginning to fall for him.
" If you say so." Tyler said, grinning at him a little
" I say so." Lance said, then he quickly noticed two of the first girls were standing up. " Take Megan outside now. They're coming."
Tyler nodded and picked up Megan (along with her chicken) and carried her outside. He heard some shouts, some screams, and knew that Megan was going to get a long time to play. He groaned. "Why didn't we just do drive throw?"
