"Can we please, pretty please?" Justin begged, tugging relentlessly on Chris's shirt like a child to a father begging to take him to the zoo.
"No, Justin. How many times must we go through this? No." Chris snapped, pulling away roughly.
Pouting with misty deep blues, Justin turned to Joey at the table. He blinked his eyes a few times, showing the impending tears in his eyes.
"Please, Joey."
"Uh..." Joey refused to look into those puppy eyes for fear of giving into his pleas. He returned to his mini black book to add some more names and corresponding numbers when Justin closed the book on him, forcing him to look at him. "Uh..." Joey couldn't say, "no", but Chris eased him by slamming his foot on Joey's foot. "No, Justin."
Justin got up, pushing the table forward, just as Lance waltzed in with his cell phone attached to his lips. Justin raised his head at the opportunity before him, but was silenced by Lance's hand in his face.
"But I want to go!" Justin stomped his feet, eliciting an innate response from upstairs.
Tumbling down the stairs was none other than JC. The commotion generated from JC's clumsy attempt at leaping downstairs from the second floor sent the other four 'Nsync boys rushing to the living room. Within seconds of his arrival at the living quarter, Justin was greeted warmly with JC landing in his arms.
"What happened?" JC asked, brushing the dust while adjusting himself. "I heard some yelling downstairs."
"I-" Justin began to say, but was rudely interrupted by Chris, who pushed the boy aside to speak to JC.
"Justin here wants to go to that stupid Haunted House on Dead Man's Hill." Chris explained. "And I told him that we can't go because we have to catch an early flight to New York first thing in the morning. I thought I made sense, but apparently, the boy does not understand. Tell him, JC. Tell him that we can't go to that stupid Haunted House tonight."
JC nodded slightly. Satisfied with JC's response, Chris stepped aside for Big Daddy and Baby to deal with one another.
"Josh, I really, really want to go tonight." Justin said.
//Be strong. Say, "no". You can do it, Josh.//
"I heard it's the coolest place to be Halloween's night," Justin continued.
//Don't look into his eyes. Whatever you do, do not, I repeat do not look into his eyes.//
"Please, Josh. Pretty, please." Justin whined some more, this time pouting.
Justin's lower lips barely inches away from JC's gaping mouth. JC looked down at his fidgeting hands only to look up, making the biggest mistake he could make. He looked the boy straight in his eyes, his tearful eyes. Justin was actually crying. He really wanted to go, but Chris adamantly denied him and therefore JC must respect Chris and do the same. But how could he? How could anyone deny those puppy eyes and that pout. That pout. The pink flesh that was his lower lips. JC opened his mouth as Chris, Joey, and Lance looked on. They were trying to make out JC's response. Looking good. It looked as if he was going to say "Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooo"
"Now?" JC asked.
"Yes, right now!" Justin jumped up and down enthusiastically at conquering everyone, yet, again.
"What the hell happened there?" Chris asked JC as they piled into a rented van.
"I don't know." JC answered, sincerely. "I was going to say, 'no', but when I looked into those big blue eyes, I just couldn't deny him his way."
"Way to go, Big Daddy." Joey commented as he plopped down between the two. "No wonder he still acts like a baby at nineteen- years-old."
"Look, I'm sorry. What more can I say or do?" JC apologized.
"Next time, we handle the boy. Not you." Chris told JC.
JC quickly agreed to Chris's cold stare. The ride to the Haunted House on Dead Man's Hill was consumed by complete silence. No one spoke to each other except for the occasionally ringing of Lance's cell phone, it was otherwise silent. The silence eventually ended with Justin's enthusiastic joy upon arriving in front of the rusted gates. Leaves fell amidst an ancient courtyard. They were greeted by the hostess dressed in all black who lead them inside past the beckoning wooden door.
Just as they entered the house, the hostess disappeared into a dark corner as darkness swallowed the visions around them. Suddenly, candles lit, chasing one another around the house and white figure flew past them, leaving them breathless. With that in mind, they followed the echoing footsteps to the second floor of this desolate mansion. Antique oil paintings adorned the walls of the hallway as they walked by, catching everyone at awe, especially Justin. He broke free from the group to admire one painting in particular, that of Madonna and Child when suddenly, the wall turned, revolving around, eating up Justin.
Justin found himself in a completely pitched black room. There was a certain sinister feeling about the room. It was completely cold. And in no time, Justin began to shiver. His legs walked him further away from the wall from which he entered through until his entire body froze. Someone was behind. He quickly turned around as a man cloaked in complete black from head to toe lit a lantern in his face.
"Boo!"
"Justin!" JC shrieked, pounding fiercely against the wall until his knuckles were white and red with blood.
"Calm down, JC." Lance pulled JC away from the wall, trying to console him. "I'm sure he's fine."
"Lance's right." Chris said, hugging JC. "This is a Haunted House some amateur created. He's probably trapped in some room and they'll release him in no time."
Chris could not be more right. Justin was trapped inside some room in the mansion. He stepped away from the man, disguised in black ski mask. He continued to approach Justin, who instinctively took a step backward until he tripped over his untied shoelace. The man smiled at the boy on the floor, kneeling before him. His hand reached for the tousled curl on his forehead, brushing it away.
"You're so beautiful." The man hissed. His tongue snaked out of his mouth, licking away the fresh tears. "Just beautiful. I bet you always get what you want."
Justin shook his head, rigorously.
"That's why you're here, Justin. You always get what you want. Well, this time, I get what I want." The man told him.
"And what would that be?" Justin murmured faintly.
"What else?"
Justin tried to remain calm, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to control his hyperventilating breathing especially when his eyes were transfixed on the shiny silver object in the man's hand. Still holding onto Justin's face, the man raised the hand with the knife. He placed the knife gently on Justin's face and watched as Justin's face paled in horror.
"Please, don't hurt me." Justin managed to utter at last.
Justin stared grimly into the dark eyes, shaking his head as the cold knife pressed harder against his face. He sighed deeply with relief when the knife was removed. Relief was short lived, however, as the man returned the knife- this time under his jaw.
"Two choices, Justin." The man finally spoke for the first time. "I cut your pretty face and you'll never be able to walk around without wearing a mask or I fuck you."
Justin's body slumped onto the floor. Sobs from fear wracked his body as the man pulled him to his feet. He pushed Justin against the wall. With the knife, he slowly severed each button of Justin's shirt. The shirt fell down onto the floor between them. The man inched forward, running the tip of the knife over Justin's clothed chest. He tucked the knife underneath the wifebeater and tore open the wifebeater.
"Please, don't." Justin begged once more
However, he was ignored completely as the man pinned him against the wall while unbuckling his belt. Soon, Justin heard the sound of the zipper echoed throughout the room. In no time, he was completely disrobed. He was pushed roughly onto a cold table in the middle of the room. Lights immediately fell upon the two. Justin was the star once more as the masked man penetrated him repeatedly. Then all was dark, again.
"Guys, I don't know about this." JC kept repeating as he followed his bandmates through the narrow hallway. "I'm going to find Justin."
"JC!" Lance hollered after his bandmate.
"Let him go, Lance." Chris said, ushering the boy to move forward. "We have to find a way out here."
Lance reluctantly agreed and followed Chris's lead. They reached the end of the hallway. Just their luck, they were faced with three paths. Other than spider webs that tangled them along the way, their tour of the house was thus far harmless. Chris made the decisions to follow the path on the left. He grabbed onto his younger band mate and guided him forward while telling Joey to follow them.
"Joey, over here." Chris said over his shoulders.
No answer.
"Joey!"
The scent of a freshly made apple permeated the air around him, leading him to Cloud Nine. He hadn't eaten all day and now his stomach was begging him relentlessly for food. Joey obeyed his stomach's commands and followed the scent straight ahead of him and into a room with an inviting open door. In the middle of the room was a large dining table with a large cushioned chair fit for a king. Food of many wonders graced the table. Amidst the vast variety of dishes was a letter.
//Enjoy!//
"I sure will." Joey smiled to himself, taking his position at the King's chair.
Without a single second wasted, he began sampling every dish, relishing the deliciously exotic food before him. This was heaven. So he thought until his eyes met hers. The scantily clad woman in leather stared into his eyes. With her finger, she ushered Joey to approach her. He took her cue and they engaged in a passionate kiss.
"I want to play with you tonight." She whispered seductively into his ear. Her tongue just barely touched his sensitive earlobe. When he remained speechless, she repeated herself once more. This time her hands trailed down the length of his body to grope him. "Do you want to play?"
Joey was speechless. All his rational thought processes, the few he had, were suddenly impaired. He merely nodded before she slammed him down on the table. For a small woman, she was aggressive, tearing off every piece of clothing Joey had on until he lay sprawled out on the table in only his skin. She teased him with a seductive smile before dipping her head to devour his family jewels.
"Want to play some more?" She asked.
Again, Joey nodded. Something had caught in his throat, thus rendering him mute. She pulled him onto his feet. With her leather belt, she blindfolded him. She then led him past the table toward the spinning wheel hidden in the darkness. She pushed him against the man-size wheel and strapped the blindfolded Joey onto the wheel. Once he was secured on the wheel, she turned on the lights. With all her strength, she spun the wheel with Joey strapped on it. Taking a few feet backwards, she reached under the table for a box garnished with a brilliant bow. She opened the box and retrieved a set of knives. Smiling, she closed her eyes and began to throw the knives at Joey. The first one barely missed his head.
"What the fuck?!" Joey yelled
He was silenced with another knife strategically penetrating the wheel between his legs. Joey sighed with relief that again her throw was screwed, but was once again consumed with fear as she resumed throwing knives at him.
"Great!" Chris threw up his hands in the air. "First we lost Justin, then JC, and now Joey."
Chris was getting very agitated, not to mention a bit scared. Within a matter of a couple of hours, three of his bandmates just disappeared into the darkness. He thought they would resurface, but from the looks of it, he might have to return with the cops to find them if he happened to get out of this haunted house alive. He turned around, suggesting to Lance that he should use his cell phone to call for help, when he realized he was all alone in this forsaken haunted house.
During the course of their trek, Lance had fallen victim to a trap, sending him to the next floor underneath. From where he stood, he could hear Chris tapping his feet nervously on the wood floor. He jumped up and down, hoping to somehow knock the ceiling and thus warrant Chris's attention when suddenly lights blinded him in all directions. He squinted his eyes and focused his eyes on the arrangement of a two chairs in the middle of the room. With the exception of the live audience, the scene reminisced of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" set. Lance approached the set of two chairs when suddenly one of the chairs spun around, revealing a man in a Regis Philbin mask greeting him.
"Welcome to Who Wants to Stay Alive." The man extended his hand to shake Lance's rigorously. "Please sit down so we can get started."
Lance, dumbfounded with disbelief, sat down cautiously in the chair opposite the masked man who wore a ridiculous smile always. Lance's eyes took his entire surrounding, swallowing hard at the projectile screens that made up three walls. The big screen to his left spotlighted an unconscious Justin. He was completely nude. His unconscious body bounded to a rusty cross. His head hung lifelessly. The big screen to his right was more alive with Joey strapped to a spinning wheel. Again, he was stripped naked and helplessly bound to the wheel as knives shot at him. He was screaming for his life, pleading with God that he would change his promiscuous ways if God could spare him his life. He was actually crying. Big Joe was actually crying. And finally, his eyes rested on the screen directly in front of him. It was Chris. He looked like he was enjoying himself thus far. His hands tightly clasped the handheld game controller. His mind trapped in a virtual world of knights and dragons. Chris was winning thus far, but for how long.
"For every question you get wrong, one of your friends will face danger. If you happen to be fortunate enough to win the round, he'll live."
Lance nodded, trying hard not to feel scared. He needed his confidence and strength. He needed to clear all from his mind and focus on the questions posed to him.
"We will start with Chris's life." The host said. "Chris has a dog, what is the dog's-"
"Busta!" Lance shouted, jumping out of his seat victoriously. "Wrong." The man said. "The dog's favorite sleeping area is Justin's bunk. I guess Chris might lose the game after all."
Lance sunk down into his chair, defeated. His heart pounded effortlessly as dragons surrounded Chris in the virtual game. The same occurred in the screen before him. Four figures cloaked in black from head to toe appeared into the scene, surrounding Chris as he continued to play.
"Question 2. Name the city where Chris was born at."
"Clarion, Pennsylvania." Lance answered.
A smile appeared on his face as the dark figures stepped back. A few more questions, some of which Lance answered incorrectly translated to vicious attacks on Chris in the virtual world.
"By the way, if Chris dies in the virtual world, he shall die in reality just as he is feeling pain right now when he gets slammed onto the hard floor." The host explained. "One last question for the first round. What is Chris's favorite song on the debut album?"
Lance thought carefully. If he got this answer correct, Chris will be spared his life. If he answered incorrectly, he would not be able to see Chris ever, again. Taking a deep breath, Lance answered the first song that popped into his head.
"Giddy Up because it's the song we wrote together."
The host smiled, turning off the middle screen. He clapped his hands, congratulating Lance on his victory. He handed Lane a goblet of red liquid. At first, Lance happily accepted the drink, but his intuition told him to put down the goblet. The man smiled at the young sage.
"Now onto Joey. Red is an expert. She doesn't miss often. It's up to you to skew her aim."
"Please, the question."
"Very well, enough with the small talk. What's Joey's full name as it appears on his birth certificate?"
"Joseph Anthony Fatone, Jr." Lance said, cautiously.
The man looked up at him, smiling. He slowly placed the card on top of the others.
"Correct!"
The Joey round was a cinch as there wasn't much to Joey Fatone other than music, acting, women, beer, food, and some more women. Joey was eventually released, but not before receiving a cut across his face as he tried to struggle during the event of his life even though Lance answered all Joey questions correctly.
"Now onto our lovely Adonis." The host hissed. His head turned to the side. "Doesn't he look so beautiful naked and bound helplessly like that."
Lance swallowed. He had to know.
"Is he...is he dead?"
"Justin, no. Of course, not. He's much better alive than dead. But it's up to you to save your friend here. Remember he's the one that got you and your friends to this place." The host reminded him.
Lance stared intently at the screen to his left as a dark figure walked into the scene. The man approached Justin. He grabbed his hair and tilted his head backward before planting a callous kiss on his lips.
"You can't do that?!" Lance shot up, furiously enraged by what he was witnessing. "I haven't answered a question yet."
"We have to get the boy awake somehow." The host explained. "It's so much more exciting to see the fear in his eyes as he is faced with death."
Lance surrendered to his seat. He crossed his arms. His eyes never leaving Justin in the screen as Justin began to wake. The minute he was conscious, he begged to the man to not hurt him anymore. Anymore. Justin had already been hurt by these sick people. Lance couldn't filter out Justin's cries from the questions bombarded in his direction. Halfway through the round, Lance slipped giving the incorrect answer. Justin's dad is not Randy Timberlake, but Paul Harliss. Randy Timberlake is his daddy. Lance buried his head in his hands, trying hard to ignore Justin's cries. Justin screamed out in agonizing pain as the dark figure tore his insides.
"Why are you crying, Lance?"
"Why?" Lance was appalled by this whole night. "Why am I crying? My best friend is being raped before my eyes and I can't cry."
"He's not dead." The host reminded him. "But he will if you don't answer this last question correctly."
"What is it?" Lance asked.
"All the members of 'Nsync are close. But who does Justin love the most?" "Easy." Lance said, staring at the masked man before him. "Joshua Scott Chasez."
The man smiled, clapping his hands. As promised, the dark figure disappeared into the darkness, again, leaving Justin still bound to the cross. Lance turned to the man and he answered him.
"We need him for the next round." The host answered.
"JC."
"And now enters Joshua Scott Chasez."
"Josh, help me!" Justin screamed with all his strength.
In the middle of the dimly lit room was the most disturbing sight he had ever seen. His angel bound to a cross. Nude. What an irony? The most pure thing he had known was completely nude bound to a rusty, dirty cross. The tears in his eyes gave a certain sparkle. JC followed the sparkling in his eyes, stopping before Justin. His hand caressed the moist face wet from tears. He reached underneath Justin's eyes, wiping the tears away with his fingers. His fingertips grazed Justin's swollen lips. He had no idea what happened next. His heart took precedence over his mind and he dove his tongue into the boy's mouth, grinded his hard dick into the boy's inflamed cock. He abandoned Justin's lips, leaving trail of wet kisses along his body. Kneeling before his best friend, he closed his eyes. His lips puckered together, kissing the tip of the swollen rod, before swallowing the entire sensual organ in his mouth. Justin cried. His cries carried along with the wind traveling past Joey and Chris who had since met with one another and toward Lance, defeated in the game. He had won all battles, but lost the war. His eyes flooded with tears, mourning over what had just happened.
Justin cried. However, it was not for his innocence lost. Not for having been raped. Not for being violated by the person he loved most. But for the blood that now stained his body. JC's blood. JC's blood that flowed profusely down his face from a stab wound to his cranium. A smile still painted on his face as he fell backward.
"No!" Justin cried. "Josh, you can't die! I love you!"
Justin kept repeating, denying the fact. Wishing for a different ending. Knowing in his heart that this was the last Halloween they'd share together because Josh was gone forever now.
