After winning yet another game of pool, I was ready to call it a night. We had been there shooting pool along with the proverbial shit since seven, and getting close to midnight I think I'd had enough of the roaring noise of balls cracking and pounding music. For some reason, I had a feeling Kevin didn't feel the same way.

"You want to stick around and shoot some more or do u have anything else in mind," trying to say as loud as I could.

"Yeah, why not. I can't believe no one's showed up on a Friday night man," beams Kevin with a grin you couldn't help but laugh at. Anytime pool was involved, I don't think anything else registered in his mind.

So he handed me the rack telling me to get it ready while he went to the bathroom and got some more drinks. Just starting senior year in high school, I didn't think it was wise to be drinking, let alone using fake I. D's in the process, but neither of us cared of the consequences anyway. You only get one chance to be a trouble maker and we were gladly taking that chance.

So Kevin dispersed into the crown while I was left alone to occupy the table we were at. And before I could process my next move toward the pocket, there he stood. A guy I don't think I could have dreamed up to look any better. He was standing among a large crowd, but I somehow spotted him as if a flood light were glaring upon him. I couldn't take my eyes off him, yet somehow managed not to look like a complete drooling idiot. But he was gorgeous! I could have froze right where I stood. In fact I think I had because all I felt was Kevin punching my arm.

"Were you going to start this game tonight or did you have a better plan in mind?" Kevin said. I couldn't understand why he was being such an ass about it until I looked down and realized I hadn't even started racking the balls.

"Actually, why don't you finish this," was all I could reply. I had to get a better look at this guy to see if what I was witnessing was even real. "Looks like you forgot our drinks so I'll just go get them."

"K ass, I'll take care of everything," was Kevin's reply. I could have cared less. He had no idea what was reeling through my mind, nor would he find out. At least I had hoped.

Walking closer toward where he stood, I caught my first good glimpse of him up close. This guy was making me feel things I didn't know you could feel. Upon walking past him we exchanged looks, probably only because I was staring, but that was my chance to let him know I was at least impressed with what I had seen. I saw what I had taken as a half smile, either a polite gesture to acknowledge that I had been looking at him, or as a sign that I was maybe receiving the same vibe that I was giving out. Could this even be happening? What are the odds that at my lowest point of being lonely and without a boyfriend for almost two years that this would happen so out of the blue? Well, I wasn't about to push it aside. First chance I got I would be acting on it.

After standing at the bar thinking I wasn't going to be served, I finally got the waitresses attention. "Smirnoff and a Rolling Rock!" I shouted. To my surprise she actually understood. Another surprise as I turned around to check what Kevin was up to, was my mystery boy. Directly in back of me he was standing there and looking like he was deep in thought.

"I didn't know ordering drinks was such a hard decision," I said joking, attempting to see if I could get a conversation started.

"Ha ha. So along with that smile you have a sense of humor too huh?" he said revealing the cutest face in the world. "I'm Ryan," he stood there with his hand out for me to shake.

"I'm Eric, nice to meet you." Shaking his hand I got my first chance to come in contact with his skin. Everything just felt right standing in front of him. I was getting the feeling that hopefully this wouldn't be the last time I saw him.

I couldn't help but study him right there. He didn't seem to be much taller than me, maybe six foot, and he was definitely dressed to fit the scene with dark green cargo pants, a skater style button down shirt and short ruffled up dirty blonde hair. After staring for at least a minute, I couldn't help but wonder if I would get another chance to talk to him again, realizing my drinks were waiting for me and I had to get back to Kevin.

"So what table you playing at?" He blurted out trying to get my attention as I was walking away.

"Over in the corner by the windows," I said back thinking this was a little too easy. "Maybe I'll catch you again tonight," playfully smiling as I turned back towards my table and Kevin.

As I expected Kevin was waiting for me as I got there just glaring at me. "Wow you're pretty much slow at everything tonight then?" he shouts trying to sound like as much of an asshole as possible. "I could have finished this game and ordered in the time it took you."

"Yeah, sorry ya dick. I ran into someone at the bar so I stopped to talk to them. Does this displease the asshole?" I replied. He couldn't really do a damn thing about it anyway. I was his ride home.

We finished up a couple of games before Ryan walked up. I of course beaming with a smile that was probably obvious to the whole place. "Hey. Hope I'm not interrupting anything," screamed Ryan attempting to be heard. All I could do was laugh. The fact that he was so comfortable was very promising to me.

"No, actually we were just discussing taking off, we've been here all night and thought we'd head out." I said giving him a smile but at the same time letting him know I was disappointed that we were leaving so soon. "I'm probably in enough trouble with my parents for going out in the first place, wouldn't want to make in worse."

"Well, that's too bad, but it's cool," he replied with a hint of sadness. He was making me feel bad, but I wasn't going to let myself leave without getting a way to see him again.

"Hey Kev, you wana go take care of the table so we can take off. I gotta go to the bathroom and I'm ready to leave." I said, trying to get Kevin to leave.

"Sure, why not." Kevin replied. "Not like I haven't done everything else tonight."

Walking away, I finally had the chance to find out when I would see Ryan next. If I had it my way, it would be as soon as possible. I wanted to get to know this boy. He seemed like someone I would have complete ease talking with, which is the best quality if you ask me.

"So you play here often then? I said, hoping he would catch where I was going with this.

"Not really actually," was his reply. "My friends are the ones who play pool. I just came here cuz I don't hang with them that often so I thought I'd give it a chance. But if you want me to give you my number, we can maybe get together and do something?"

"Sure" I said practically shouting it to him. I was maybe a little too excited, but I think we both aware of what was going on, it just wasn't being directly implied.

So after finishing writing his number down and handing it to me, I told him I'd give him a call sometime and we said our good-byes as Kevin was approaching us. Kevin and I left and were in my jeep in no time. I think Kevin was a little curious as to who I was talking to because he knows my friends and hasn't ever seen him before.

"So who was that anyway?" he asked. Somehow I knew that question was coming.

"Oh, he's a friend from grade school." I replied. Like I'm going to tell my friend that I'm suddenly picking up guys at random.

We reached his house and decided we would go out again on Sunday cuz he had things to do for his parents Saturday, and I knew he'd want to play pool again, so I wanted to take a break tomorrow anyway. After saying good-bye I headed home, the whole way running the thoughts of what had happened tonight through my head thinking I couldn't have asked for more. Pulling in to the driveway, I decided I would use the basement door so I wouldn't have to deal with my Mom getting on me about being out so late. Hitting my bed I finally had a chance to think about when I was going to call Ryan and what I was going to say to him. I was definitely hoping that this would lead to something I've been needing for a long time. The only image I could even see was Ryan and things to come as i jacked off like never before. I was in complete extacy hoping that the real thing would be like nothing else before. I fell asleep looking at his number on my nightstand with a smile that I knew wasn't going away anytime soon.
