Life's Journey
**Chapter 11
**Trouble in Paradise
"What the hell did he think he was doing. We go through all of this crap and then, finally it looks as if everything is going to work out for us, and he goes and pulls this stunt. Well, I'll tell you what, if he wants to love Marc, then he can just love him and leave me out of it. I'll find somewhere else to live. Then nerve of him, falling for someone else. I thought he loved me, I though we were soul mates. That is what he told me and that is the way I still feel. I love him. I will always love him, no matter what he does.
..............Oh, shit. I said it. I will always love him, no matter what he does.
Yes, that is true, so why do I have a problem with him loving Marc? He said he still loves me. Am I jealous? Yeah, probably. Do I still love him? YES! No question there. Do I like Marc? Yes, what little I know about him. So, David was not trying to hide anything from me. He told me that he though he was falling in love with Marc, he also told me that he loves me! Shit, this is too much. How can he love two people, does he really love Marc or is it just an infatuation? This isn't helping any at all, I really need to talk to someone, but who? Who can I talk to that would understand? I can't talk to Sam, this is his son we are involving here. I don't really know anyone else around here. Shit, fuck, damn!"
I had been talking to myself so much that I didn't realize that I had walked all the way down the hill and I was almost to the Castro. "Shit, since I'm here, I might as well have some fun." I thought to myself. "I wonder if I can sneak into one of the bars. I sure could use a drink about now."
I looked around and saw a bar that had wide double doors. There were guys standing all around the doors, the place inside looked packed. "This is perfect, crowded, noisy. Ok, here goes nothing or everything."
I went inside just like I belonged there. I crowded my was into line and started looking around. "Damn, there are some HOT looking guys here. Oh, yeah, that one is looking at me. Smile back, that's it. Ohhh, he's coming over, oh shit, now what do I do?"
"Hi there, my name's Nic." This tall, HOT, looking guy was talking to me. "I-I, uh-uh, My a-a-my name is Sean." I just about pissed my pants right there. Excuse the language but ""FUCK,"" this guy is so fucking hot. His has muscles, he is cuter than shit, and those eyes, the deepest blue I have ever seen in my life. I looked into his eyes and I was falling. I was falling so fast that I couldn't even speak.
"Hey bud, you getting a drink or what?" Said this burly voice behind me.
"Uh-oh, yeah. Sorry." I stuttered as I moved up to the bar and ordered a beer.
"What kind a beer?"
"What?"
"What-Kind-of-beer-do-you-want?" The bartender said impatiently.
"Ah, shit I don't care, bud?"
The bartender reached under the bar and plopped a bottle of Budweiser in front of me. I paid him and turned to see if that guy was still waiting and wham, there he was right in my face, we were nose to nose, eye to eye, he leaned over to me and kissed me. I had electricity running through my body. I was stunned, I was turned on, big time. He finished the kiss and pulled back.
"Well? He said with a smile.
"I-I ahhhh, I think we need to get out of the way here." I stammered.
He reached for my free hand and pulled me along after him as he headed toward the back of the bar. We did manage to find a place in a corner. He leaned against the high bench and pulled me to him, again kissing me.
"Nic!" I mumbled around his tongue. "Nic, this is great and all but you are moving a little fast for me."
"So what's the problem Sean? Don't you like me?"
"Ahh, yeah, you're really hot, but I don't know you at all."
"What's that got to do with it?"
"What do you mean? I asked.
"Well, I think you're hot, you think I'm hot, so now we go to your place or you to my place and we get it on." He replied.
"Ahhh, well, uhhh, I've never done that before."
"What do you mean, you've never done that before. Wait a minute, how old are you anyway?"
"I, I'm 21." I lied.
"Are you telling me the truth, because you don't look it. So, why are you here, if you aren't looking for sex?" He asked with what looked to me as real concern.
"I just had a fight with my boy friend, well not exactly a fight." I explained.
"oh, a lovers quarrel and you were going to go out and get even with him."
"NO! It's not like that at all. David and I are really in love with each other.
Shit, why am I telling you this anyway. I don't even know who you are."
"My name is Nicholas Dumont the Third. I was bred and born right here in this great city. I am a totally out fag and I am the shame of my family. Now you know who I am, tell me a little more about yourself and what is going on between you and David."
I looked at Nic again and reevaluated him. Well, he was definitely really hot looking. He had a great smile and those eyes of his were hypnotizing. His lips were full and his ears small and really cute. He looked like he worked out on a regular basis but he wasn't all muscle. He was just perfect. A little taller than I am, and since I am over six feet tall now, that is tall.
"Ok, look. My boyfriend and I just moved here from back east. We didn't have it too good out there. Actually we were almost killed on more than one occasion. Well, we moved out here and we are living with David's Uncle. Now, David has met his cousin, who is also gay, and they seem to be falling in love. So, here I am, confused, mad and jealous as hell." I looked at Nic, with anger in my eyes.
He pulled away from me a little with a frightened look in his face. "Hold on there dude. You look as if you could kill right now. I'm neutral in this thing here. Man, that look is scary."
I shook my head and jerked myself out of the stupor that I was in. "I have this problem you see. When I get angry, I kind of loose it. I don't really remember what I am doing."
"Well, you look better now, actually you look really nice." Nic said as he leaned to me again and gave me a gentle kiss on my cheek.
I actually blushed when he did that. It was so sweet. He was gentle, loving and caring. Well, that is what it seemed like to me.
"You aren't too bad yourself either." I replied.
"Tell me something Sean, how old are you really?"
"Well, actually I'm 16."
"Oh shit! Now I am in trouble." Nic said.
"Why Nic? You didn't do anything."
"Well, I'm 21, your 16, you're an minor, I'm not. That is what I mean by trouble."
"Shit, you didn't buy me the beer. You didn't have sex with me. You only kissed me. I don't see a problem. Besides, I don't care how old you are." I replied.
"Well the first thing that we need to do is get you out of this bar before you get in trouble and this bar gets in trouble. Come on, let's go to the coffee shop across the street."
We left the bar, and I didn't even get to finish my beer, Nic wouldn't let me. Across the street was the same coffee shop that we were at before. This time we went inside, Nic ordered us some coffee and we sat in a corner.
"Ok, look. I have a good idea of what is going on. You are new to the Big City and you are out exploring. Looking to see what you can get away with. I know all about you young gay guys that move from the mid-west. Walking around with eyes about to pop out of their heads. All of this is so new to you, that you want to try everything. Well let me tell you something young man. DON'T GET CAUGHT UP IN THE BULLSHIT! It will do nothing but ruin you and the relationship you have with David. I've seen it happen so many times and if I can keep it from happening to you, I will. Look, you will have a lot of time when you are older to explore all that this city has to offer. Just wait until you can do it legally. At your age, this city will swallow you up, chew you into little pieces and spit you out on the streets with nothing left, and I mean nothing. You will be lucky if you still have your mind intact." He lectured.
I sat there looking dumbfounded. I didn't know what to think of this guy. He looked as if he really cared. He sounded as if he really cared. Actually he looked passionate about what he was saying.
"Nic, what did you think I was doing out here tonight? I wasn't out looking for anything really. I was pissed at David and I needed to walk it off. The next thing I knew I was down here. I really needed a drink and I just went into the bar and got one. That's when we saw each other. Oh shit. I left three hours ago." I replied.
"Ok, I guess I believe you. But you should be getting back, I bet that David is worried about you. He is probably frantic by now. Tell you what. I'll give you a lift back, it must not be that far, is it?"
I told him where Sam's house was. We walked to his car. Damn, another guy with money. Nice car. I was giving Nic directions, as we pulled up in front of Sam's house.
"Shit, I know Sam. When did you guys move in?" Nic asked.
"It's been a couple of weeks now." I replied.
"I haven't seen Sam in about a month. I was wondering why he hasn't been out and about lately. I guess I have my answer. Come on." He ordered.
We got out of the car and I was just reaching for the door knob when it flew open and David attacked me. He jumped on me, wrapping his arms and legs around me.
"Seanwherethehellhaveyoubeen,I'vebeensoworriedaboutyou,IloveyouSean,Iloveyouandnonoelese.Ihopeyouunderstandthat."
"Woo there David. Slow down a little. I know you love me and I love you too, more than you can ever know." I replied.
"Oh Sean, you walked out and didn't come back, we are all so worried. I wanted to go looking for you but Sam wouldn't let me. Marc is out looking for you now, he has been gone a couple of hours. Now I am worried about him."
"It's ok now. I'm back and really happy to have you in my arms again. I do love you David and I am sorry for taking off like that. You know how I am when I get angry. I need time to think things out before I react. Thanks to Nic, " I nodded toward Nic. "I was rescued from the horrors of the big city."
David looked at Nic for the first time. His eyes widened at he took in the presence before him.
"Ohh shit Sean. He's cute!" David said before he realized it. Turning beet red he looked at Nic and said, "Sorry!"
"Hey kid, not a problem, I like compliments." Nic replied.
"Come on in Nic, if you know Sam, I am sure that he would want to see you again." I invited.
Well sure enough, Sam knew Nic. It was like old homecoming week. Sam was excited as hell to See Nic as was Nic to see Sam. They talked about their friends and gossiped about what was going on around the gay community.
"Hey Sam, did you hear what Jimmy Peterson did? Nic asked.
"No, what?"
"He bought the Old Bar on Polk Street. Says he is going to fix it up and open it as a hang out for all of his friends. He said he is also going to open his practice in the offices above the bar."
"Wow, really? I don't know if I can picture Jimmy as a bar owner. But I guess weirder things have happened. Are you still using Jimmy as your attorney?" Sam asked.
"Oh yes. He is a very screwed attorney. If the man is on your side, he will win."
"I just might give him a call, I'm not really happy with the attorney I have now." Sam said.
"Sam, Jimmy would jump at the chance to represent you. Call him, besides, he would love to hear from you again." Nic replied.
They talked for a while longer about business stuff. David and I were a little lost as to what was going on. Soon someone came barging in the front door.
"I looked all over for him and.........Oh, you're back." Marc exclaimed, almost out of breath.
"Yeah, sorry Marc, I just kind of zoned out and kept walking, that is until Nic found me and rescued me."
"Hey Nic, great to see you again." Then looking at me again he said. "Ok, just don't do that again or I will really be pissed."
"Sure thing Marc. You have my word." I replied.
Now that Marc was back, Sam decided it was time to get things figured out. He stood up in front of all of us.
"Ok, now what is going on here? I heard some of it from David and Marc, what is your side Sean?"
"I don't know Sam. I guess it was jealousy. What David told me shocked me."
"It's ok Sean. We told him everything." Said Marc.
"Well, to learn that David could be falling in love with someone else? After everything we have gone through together. It was just too much to deal with. I had to walk my anger off before I lost control of myself. I know that when I loose control, I don't remember a thing that I do. So, off I went. The next thing I knew, I was in the Castro, standing in front of a bar. I thought about it for a minute, and walked in and bought a beer. Well, Nic latched on to me right off the bat, drug me out of there and to a coffee shop where we talked about it, and here we are."
"YOU WENT INTO A BAR? Sean, I am not very happy about that at all. You know that your parents have given me responsibility for you and now you go and do something like this? My trust level for you has just dropped." Yelled Sam.
"Sam, calm down. This isn't like you at all. Look, I talked to Sean about what he did and I think I put some fear into him. This is something that is very difficult for him. He needed time to work things out in his head. You know exactly what he is going through because I have seen you the same way!" Nic scolded Sam.
"Ok, ok, You're right. Sean, I'm sorry but you had me worried." Sam apologized.
"I understand Sam and don't worry about it." I told him honestly. "Sam, I love you and I guess you do too or you wouldn't have been so upset."
"You know Sean, for such a youngster, you are pretty smart." Sam said as he walked to me and hugged me.
"Ok Nic, I am going to tell you something that hardly anyone else in this city knows. You see, Marc is my son."
Nic's jaw hit the floor. He just stood there his eyes darting between Sam and Marc.
"Ahhhh, WOW!" Was all he could manage to say.
"So, I guess you know why Sean couldn't come to me to talk about what was going on. I didn't even stop to think about it. I saw Marc's reaction when he first set his eyes on David. Actually I think he is attracted to Sean too, who wouldn't be." Sam explained.
"Well, I have to agree with you because when I saw Sean walk into the bar, I went after him like bee's to honey. You know exactly what happens when I want something, Sam. I usually get it." Nic admitted.
"He didn't waste any time coming after me either. I had only been in the bar a few seconds and he was laying a big wet one on me." I laughed.
"Sean, you hit every button I have. I didn't have any choice. Shit man, you are one hot dude." Nic said.
"I'm really flattered Nic, because the feeling is mutual. When you kissed me, it was like electricity coursing though my body." I replied, staring into Nic's eyes.
"Hey wait a minute. What's going on between the two of you?" David interrupted, unhappily.
"Nothing David, we just have a mutual attraction. No harm in that is there?" I asked.
"Ahhh, well, I guess not. But how far are you going to allow it to go? I mean are you in love with Nic?"
"David, I barely know him. How could I be in love with him. I don't fall for someone at first sight. I may lust after them physically but it takes me a while to really love them, like I love you."
David moved over to me and wrapped his arms around me looking deep into my eyes. He was shaking. Tears started forming at the corners of his eyes.
"Sean, I love you so much that I don't have the words to tell you." He said as he leaned in and kissed me deeply.
