Life's Journey

**Chapter 8
**
A New Life

Oh My God! He remembers who I am. He knows that he loves me and that I love him. My beautiful Sean. His eyes are so sexy, you can just fall into those green eyes of his and loose yourself. You look at his lips and you just can't help but kiss them. His face is so handsome that you can't keep from touching it. Those sharp cheekbones, that gallant nose. His hair, so dark and shiny. His ears, sooo cute. His body is soooooooooooooo!!! SEXY, but I won't go there, hehehe. I told you that if you kept reading you would hear it again and again and again.

Have you every really been in love? No! Not that, I mean really in love. So in love that you can't think of anything else but him. So in love that when you aren't near him you can't concentrate on anything else and every time your heat beats it hurts because he isn't near you? That is how much love I have for Sean. There is no way in this world that you can convince me that God didn't have a hand in this. He had it all mapped out for us to fall in love. Why the HELL can't people accept that? Bunch of Bozo's. Uh oh! I'm starting to get pissed. I had better change the subject.

Dr. Pat was with Sean for almost two hours. I was pacing the floor wondering what they were talking about. I had this fear that Sean's memory would disappear as fast as it had come back. I just had to see him again. Damn it, hurry up in there. Just no consideration at all for little David. Here he sits, or paces, all by himself, worrying about his love, his Sean. Who do they think they are, just leaving me out here to stew, all alone? Like I didn't matter at all. Nooooooo! Wasn't I the one who got hurt the last time? I only had both of my legs and my arm busted up saving Sean's life. Hell, I could have been killed. Now they leave me here to worry and fret and get all worked up.

Then I heard the door opening. I looked up and there he was. Standing in the doorway smiling at me.

"Get your ass in here." He said.

I looked at him and just stood there.

"I don't take orders very well you should know that by now." I replied.

"Pleeeaaaasssseeee?" He begged.

He looked like he was going to cry and I just couldn't resist him when he looked like that. Well, to be honest, I couldn't resist him anytime. I ran to him and we embraced. I held him like he was going to go away again. Just feeling him near was all I needed. I tilted my head back so I could look into those beautiful green eyes of his.

"Oh God Sean, I love you so much, I just don't know how to tell you how much I love you." I cried.

"David, you don't have to tell me. I can see it in your eyes." He answered.

"Oh Sean." I bawled. I sobbed. I cried. Oh shit, I think I am going to pass out again.

Yep, I did it again. I am going to have to ask Dr. Pat why I keep doing this. I woke up just a couple of minutes later lying on Sean's bed.

"Wow, that was intense." I said kind of mumbling.

"David, are you ok?" Sean asked.

"Yeah, I think I am."

"David, you scared me again. You are going to have to quit doing that to me."

"David, I think I should take you back to the hospital and run some more tests.

You shouldn't be passing out like that." Pat said.

"Oh Shit Pat. Haven't you guys had enough of my blood already?"

"It could only be stress that is causing it but I would like to make sure." He replied.

"Yeah, you just want to make sure of your retirement." I said with a big smile on my face so he would know that I was joking.

"I guess you aren't that bad if you can make wise cracks like that. But I still want to run those tests." Pat said.

"Ok, Ok, if you insist. But can't it wait until tomorrow? Sean and I have some catching up to do." I asked.

Pat grinned at me and shook his head. "Sure David, not a problem at all. I'll see you at 10 tomorrow morning." Turning to Sean. "Sean?"

"Pat, I'm feeling a lot better, thanks." Sean said as he walked to Pat and gave him a hug. A hug that hung on a little too long if you ask me.

"Uhhh hmmmm!"

"Hello?"

"Is anyone at home?"

"DAVID! Quit being so damn jealous." Sean quipped.

"I'm just feeling a little left out here." I said.

With that, Sean let go of Pat and walked to me. He stood about a foot away frowning.

"Oh shit. I think he is pissed." I said to Pat.

Just as I finished getting the words out of my mouth both Sean and Pat cracked up laughing. Sean pulled me to him and gave me one of the most loving, romantic kisses I have ever had.

"Uh, Sean. I think you had better let up a little, I'm getting dizzy again."

"That's just all of the blood rushing from your head, well at least from this head." Sean said as he tapped my forehead.

"Doesn't loss of blood pressure cause dizziness Pat?" Sean asked.

Pat started laughing as he walked out of the room.

We didn't loose any time making up for lost time after Dr. Pat left. Guess what happened? Hehe, wouldn't you like to know. I told you that I wouldn't write that stuff in here. That is just a bit too personal. Just be assured that it was a wonderful experience. I had my lover back.

The next morning, we started talking about what we were going to do. Both of us knew that we couldn't stay here. It was just too dangerous. "I think we should talk to our parents about this." Sean said.

"Yeah, you are right. We are still underage and can't really do anything without their permission. What do you think of a family pow-wow? Your parents and mine?" I asked.

"David, I think that is an excellent idea. Let me talk to mine and you talk to yours and then we can get them to talk to each other before all of us get together."

"Ok, I'm game. When do you want to get them together?

"Let's plan on day after tomorrow. I think I need to spend a little time with my dad. We have a lot to talk about."

"But, I don't want to leave you."

"You won't have to for long baby. I wouldn't let you stay away."

I looked at him and fell in love with him even more. Shit! How can someone love another person so much? Tears started again. I was so happy to have him back.

We went to the hospital and I had the damn tests. Dr. Pat asked me to wait around for a few minutes. Yeah right! A few minutes.............

About four hours later I called my parents to come get me. I told them the tests didn't show a thing wrong. What a waste of my good blood. My dad picked me up but not after coming inside and talking to Sean.

"Sean, I am so happy that you are back with us."

"I am too sir."

"Don't call me sir. Either call me Tom or call me Dad, Ok?"

Sean looked at my dad and smiled. "Thank you ah, ah, Dad Tom."

My father actually reached out to Sean and hugged him. My father showing emotions? Wow! This is one for the history books.

When we got into the car I just sat there and stared at him.

"What is it son?"

"I-I-I."

"Well spit it out."

Dad, you've changed."

"I hope for the better." He said.

"Oh yes, definitely for the better." I answered.

"Dad?"

"Yes?"

"I love you."

"I love you too son."

I was floating on cloud 99. Wow, this was almost too much to take. I have Sean back. My father! Well, you know. Sean's father was accepting him. Our mom's were great. Now all we needed to do was get out of this town.

When we got home, I asked my parents for a family meeting. I sat down and explained everything to them.

"Mom, Dad, I love you two very much but I have one question. How do Sean and I live here in this town after what has happened? I am not going to give him up, now or ever. That basically means that we are going to have to move away from here. That is the only way that we can be safe."

"David, I think we might have an answer to your problem. Before I tell you what it is, let me say a few things." Dad said.

"Sure Dad."

"I love you and Sean more than you could ever know. I don't want either of you to leave this town but at the same time I love you enough that I want the two of you safe. So, your mother and I have been talking to your Uncle Sam."

"Do you, Do you mean?" I asked.

"Yes, we have asked him about having the two of you come live with him."

"Wow, this is totally unexpected. I have thought about it but I didn't know how we would do it." I said.

"The part that you don't know yet is that your uncle has agreed. So have Sean's parents. They don't want either of you to be harmed again. We have agreed to support the two of you, but your uncle insists that you two will get jobs when you get there. You will have rules. You will be in your uncle's custody. That means he is basically adopting the two of you, without all of the legal red tape. We are going to give him guardianship over both of you until you are eighteen."

"Mom, Dad, you guys are great. I don't know what else to say except I love you both."

With that I hugged and kissed both of them. I was shocked again when my father actually kissed me back.

"Can I call Sean and Sam?" I asked.

Smiling my father told me to go ahead.

"Seanyouwon'tbelievewhathashappenedmyparentshavearrangedforustogolivewithmyuncleinSanFranciscotheyhavealreadytalkedtoyourparentsandtheyhaveagreedWowisn'tthiswonderful?Haveyoutalkedtoyourparentsyet.ItwillbesogreatlivinginSanFranciscoIamsoexcitedIcouldjustburst........"

"DAVID! DAVID! CALM DOWN!

"What? Oh! Sorry!"

"Now start over and talk slowly."

So, I told him again, this time a little slower but not a lot. He was so excited that he caught my fast talking disease.

"Sean, you had better go talk to your parents. We have to start making plans. I am going to call my uncle right now."

"Oh God David, this is wonderful. I am so excited. I am so happy. Golly Gee Whiz, I could just shit a brick."

"Ok Sean, go talk to your parents and I'll call Sam and find out the details."

"David, I love you."

"I love you too Sean."

I hung up the phone and immediately called my uncle.

"Sam? This is David."

"David? Am I glad to hear your voice again. Did your parents talk to you yet?"

"Yes they did and Sean and I are so excited about the whole thing. Did I tell you that we had decided to try to get into Berkeley when we graduated? This is just perfect. Sam, I love you, thank you so much."

"Hey little dude, it is my privilege to do this."

"Hehe, wait until you get to know me better. Then you will be screaming bloody hell."

"David, I really doubt that. You come from two really great parents, not to mention a great family line on your mothers side, there is no way that you could be that bad."

"Well see if you have the same opinion after I live with you for a while."

"Agreed, but I don't think I will change my mind."

"So, what kind of rules are Sean and I going to have to follow?"

"They won't be too bad. The usual stuff that parents put on you. Curfew, Chores and stuff like that. You will have to get part time jobs for your spending money."

"That doesn't sound too bad."

"The chores will probably be less than what you are used to doing there on the farm."

"I am sure they will be a lot easier. I do have one question Sam."

"Sure David, ask away."

"Well, Sean and I are in love and-and...."

"Don't worry about that David. You and Sean will have all the private time together that you need. I can still remember what it was like when I was your age and I wasn't really that much in love with my boyfriend, not like you and Sean are."

"Sam, thank you. I love you."

"I love you too. Now as soon as the two of you figure out when you will be here, let me know, ok?"

"Sure will, talk to you soon. Love you, bye."

"Later little dude. I love you too."

Ok, now what do you think of that? Huh? Does this sound like a fairy tale to you? Two teenage boys fall in love. Move to San Francisco so they can be safe. Live with an uncle that will let them love each other, no questions asked. Ok, when do I wake up from this dream? SLAP! "OUCH!" Well, I am awake so it must not be a dream.

The next two weeks went by way too fast. Sean and I packed everything except a few changes of clothes and shipped it to San Francisco. We didn't really have any idea what kind of house my uncle lived in. He didn't really give us that much information. All he said was that there was plenty of room for the two of us. There was tearful good-bye's from everyone at the airport. I think Sean's parents were worse than mine. His father had really changed. He smiled more now than he ever had since I had known him. They all promised to come out to San Francisco and visit us. I wasn't really upset about leaving my parents. I thought I would be but because Sean and I were together, it seemed right somehow. To tell the truth, I was excited. The look on Sean's face was the same. We were off on our grand adventure. What will the future bring for the two of us?

We walked down the ramp toward the plane, looking back at our tearful parents, waving at us. I reached for Sean's hand and took it into mine. Both of us turned back toward the plane, toward our future.

To be continued......
