Love is Real chapter 10

DECEMBER 24th THE PRIOR YEAR

Ronnie parked his truck in his parent's driveway.

"Damn, we're the last ones here. I shouldv'e had us leave at 5:30 instead of 6. But I really didn't want to drive facing the sun as it sets. It can blind you on the the last part of the road here."

"You made the right decision. Besides, it fashionable to be late," Austin responded grinning.

Ronnie knew from the vehicles there, that his brother and sister had already arrived. They didn't have as far to drive as Ronnie, but still, he realized he should have gotten there sooner. He didn't want everyone's eyes on Austin all at once. 'Oh well, it is what it is,' he thought.

"Well, here we go," Ronnie said to Austin as he opened his door.

"I think it's gonna be fun meeting your family," Austin smiled.

"Fun for you maybe. For me it's more like a chore."

"Just relax and enjoy yourself. And remember, I'll be thinking of sucking your dick the whole time we're here."

"Oh, great. So, now I'll have a boner all night to boot."

"Maybe, but at least you'll be smiling." Then Austin proceeded to show Ronnie his 1000 watt smile.

Ronnie opened the door at the side entrance that led into the kitchen, with Austin right behind.

The smell of freshly baked pastries and cookies delightfully filled their noses.

"Ronnie!!" his mom gleefully and louded stated. "And this handsome man must be Austin." She walked directly to Austin and gave him a welcoming hug. "It is so nice to meet you. I am so glad that you could come," she said as they broke the hug."

"I'm happy to be here and to meet you as well," Austin said with his 1000 watt smile on display, and blushing just a little bit.

She turned and hugged Ronnie and whispered, not so quietly in his ear, "He is gorgeous."

"Good to see you mom. Thanks," Ronnie replied, a little embarassed.

Austin heard her, but he didn't think the others in the room did.

They walked together further into the kitchen. "Austin, this is my sister Jan and her two little rugrats, Johnny and Tommy."

Austin stepped towards Jan to shake her hand and she stepped to him, only she gave him a light hug instead.

"Nice to meet you Austin."

About that time, Ronnie's dad and Jan's husband came into the kitchen. "There they are," his dad loudly exclaimed. He walked over to extend his hand, and gave Austin a long, firm handshake. "Good to meet you, son. Welcome to our home."

"Good to meet you, sir. And glad to be here, thanks." Again, showing his 1000 watt smile that everyone couldn't help but notice. Afterall, there aren't many people who can smile like Ronnie or Austin.

Jan walked over to her husband, and said to Austin, "This is my husband, John, but everybody calls him JL." They stepped towards each other and gave a firm handshake. "Good to meet you JL." "Same here." JL seemed a little standoffish, but Austin couldn't care less about him or what he may be thinking.

"Well, now that all the introductions have been made, let's all go into the living room so we can sit. Us old folks don't need to be standing any more than we have to," Ronnie's mom said.

"Where is Donnie? His car is in the driveway," Ronnie mentioned.

His mom answered, "He wasn't here ten minutes before he left with one of his friends. He said he wouldn't be gone long."

"Oh, ok," Ronnie said with a little disappointment.

One by one they all went into the living room. Ronnie's dad sat down in his easy chair as his mom sat in hers next to him. Jan sat in another chair adjacent to the fireplace, which had a nice fire going in it. Jl sat on the end of hearth of the fireplace, close to Jan. The two boys each went over to a corner where they had some toys, and sat down on the floor to play with those. There was a huge couch on one side and a loveseat on the other. Ronnie nodded his head towards the loveseat as he smiled at Austin, so they sat together on it.

There was a big flatscreen mounted above the mantle of the fireplace, but it wasn't turned on. A large, beautifully decorated Christmas tree was in the corner with only a few presents under it. There was a large round coffee table in the center of the room with lots of different finger foods and treats on it. Behind the couch was a built-in bar area, almost as a separate room, which had a large bar with all sorts of drinks on top, along with an ice bucket and alot of different types of glasses and cups.

Ronnie's mom and dad talked to Ronnie asking questions mainly about his job and home. They asked Jan and JL a few questions as well.

"Now everyone help yourselves to drinks and refreshments," Ronnie's mom said as she got up and went to the bar. "Dear, would you like a drink?"

"Yes, thank you," his dad replied. So, everyone else got up and went to the bar to get a drink of their choice. Austin and Ronnie got tea. Then they all helped themselves to the treats on the coffee table and continued to talk to one another. Austin told everyone about his family and him about to graduate from college. Everyone shared a few good stories about themselves and/or each other. During all the eating and discussions, Ronnie and Austin would sneak knowing glances at each other and smile.

"So, Austin are you going to work after you graduate, or go for your master's," Ronnie's dad asked.

"Definitely work. I'm so ready to be finished with school. Maybe someday, if I feel it's necessary, I will get my master's. But I sure hope I don't need to. I've already sent my resume to several companies in the area, including where Ronnie works. Who knows. maybe Ronnie will be my boss soon."

Everyone laughed at that.

Shortly, afterwards, Ronnie said that he was going to go out to his car and get the kid's presents. "I'll go help you, " Austin said.

"Cool."

As soon as they closed the kitchen door, they grabbed each other for a passionate kiss.

"It was all I could do to not hold your hand, or put my hand on your leg," Austin said. "It was driving me crazy."

Ronnie laughed, "I know, me too."

"They know we are together. We should just confirm it so that we can be ourselves," Austin suggested.

"Oh, hell no. You don't understand. Even though they know it and accept it, it's not the same thing to them as seeing it. They couldn't handle that. Trust me. It would cause serious problems. As long as they don't have to see it or talk about it, then they are cool with it. You've heard the saying 'out of sight, out of mind', well that's how they are. Besides, what is one or two days a year gonna do for us. It's just not worth the trouble. Plus, as it is, they will love you like another son, as long as we don't put in their face."

"Ok, I get it. Your right. But damn, it's hard not hold you or kiss you when I get the urge."

"I know, and it's just as hard for me. But, I know my parents. Mom would be ok with it. And dad can deal with it mentally, but not physically. Or something like that."

"Ok, I love you."

"And I love you."

As they were walking out to the truck, a car pulled into the driveway. It stopped behind Ronnies' truck, and Donnie got out of the passenger's side, slamming the door.

"Donnie, what the hell."

He walked up to Ronnie grinning, and gave him a big hug, as the car backed out of the driveway and left, squeeling the tires.

Austin knew that Donnie was Ronnie's younger brother. but he definitely wasn't his little brotber. Donnie was about 6'1" 185 lbs.

Ronnie could smell alcohol from Donnie's breath.

As they separated, Donnie turned to Austin and said, "So, so this is, this is the new b'boyfriend. The infamous Austin. And a sight for sore eyes I must say. I'm Donnie, Ronnie's litte brotha. Good to meet 'ya man." He put out his hand, Austin reached out and took his hand in his to shake, but Donnie pulled him in for a tight hug.

"Welcome to..to the f'family, dude."

Austin was blushing profusely as Donnie released him from the hug. He immediately went to Ronnie and took his hand in is, holding Ronnie tightly and closely to him.

Ronnie could sense discomfort in Austin. He let go of his hand put his arm around Austin and pulled him in close and tight. Austin moved in tighter with his shoulder under Ronnie's.

"Oh, h'how sweeet. The two little little love birds." Donnie mumbled and almost laughing. "And you're such a cute little thang, too."

"You're drunk," Ronnie said. "You can't go in the house like that."

"Why the hell not."

"Because you'll cause a scene and ruin Christmas eve for everyone.

"Well I ain' going h'home, that's fer damn sure."

"At least let me get you some gum, you reek."

"Ok, th..thanks, big brotha."

Ronnie led Austin by the hand to his truck and got some gum from the console. "I've never seen him like this. It's so not like him. Something is up."

They walked back over to Donnie, who was now sitting on the driveway. He unwrapped the gum for Donnie and handed it to him.

"Th..thanks big brotha, I looove you," he said giggling.

"Chew on that. We're gonna take the kids presents inside, then I'll be right back."

Austin helped Ronnie carry the presents in the house, and put them under the tree, without any fanfare. Ronnie and Austin sat back down on the love seat. Austin was feeling very nervous. After only a minute, Ronnie caught Jan's eye and he nodded with his head for her to follow him as he got up. "I'll be right back, but I need to talk to Jan for a minute."

Jan followed him into the kitchen. He filled her in on what was going on with Donnie. "I'm gonna go back outside and bring him in, but not too quickly. I need you to cover for me, in case mom or dad start asking questions while I'm gone."

"What are you gonna do? What do you want me to say in case they ask?"

"I'm not sure yet what I'm gonna do, but just tell them..uh..tell them I got a call from a friend, and I went outside to talk. Oh, and sit with Austin so he won't feel abandoned."

"Ok, but don't be gone long."

Jan went back into the living room, and Ronnie went to check on Donnie. He found Donnie sprawled out on the concrete driveway. He could see that he was breathing, but he checked his pulse, anyway. 'Good, he thought. That's exactly what he needs.' Ronnie straddled Donnie with his feet, bent over and picked him up with his hands under his armspits. He put his hand in Donnie's pocket and pulled out his car keys, and put them in his pocket. Then he carried Donnie over to his car, opened the back door, and set him down and laid him on his back. He went to the other side of the car, crawled in the back seat and dragged Donnie across the seat. He got out, closed the door, went back to the other side, put Donnie's feet inside, then closed the door. 'Thirty minutes,' he thought, 'I hope that's enough'.

He went back in the house and into the living room. The kids were playing and Austin was telling a fishing story. When Jan saw him, she got up and went back to her chair. When Austin finished his story, Ronnie said "Sorry, but Chet called wishing us a merry Christmas."

Clueless, his mother said "Well, that was mighty thoughtful of him. He was always such a good boy."

His dad nodded.

"So, did I miss anything?"

"Austin was just telling us about one of his fishing trips with his dad. I think he likes to fish more than you do, if you can believe that," his dad said.

"Yes, I can believe it. We've done quite a bit of fishing together. I know how much he likes it," he said and he looked at Austin and grinned. Austin grinned back. They badly wanted to kiss.

Ronnie asked, "Can the kids open their presents from me now."

"Sure," his mom said.

Ronnie got up and went over to where the kids were playing. "Hey, youngins, ya'll want to open your Christmas presents that I brought."

"YEAH, YEAH," they both screamed. So, he led them over to the tree and they all three sat down. Ronnie reached over and took one present for each and hand it to them.

They ripped into 'em. Ronnie continued handing out the presents. There were alot, nothing expensive at all, just cheap 'dollar store' toys they could play with and have lots of presents to open.

After all the presents were opened, Ronnie said "Mom I'm gonna make some coffee, does anyone else want any?"

Austin and Jan said they did. He went in the kitchen and started the coffee brewing, then went out to check on Donnie. He was still sound asleep. Ronnie grabbed Donnie's feet and shook 'em until he finally woke up. "Come on, get up and let's go in the house. I have coffee ready."

Donnie groggily raised up and groaned. "Damn, I feel like shit."

"I bet. Get out and let's go in. Spit out the gum."

Donnie did.

Ronnie walked over to his truck, got another piece of gum and retrieved the two presents he intentionally left behind.

He handed the gum to Donnie and said, "Come on."

Donnie followed him to the side door.

Ronnie glared at him and said, "Just five minutes. Do five minutes of jumping jacks then come inside and get some coffee, then come into the living room."

"Ok, damn it."

As Ronnie walked back into the living room, he said "I remember that I forgot about these two". And he took the presents to the screaming kids. After they were opened, and each boy showed the other his and played with the toys for a minute or two. Donnie walked into the living room sipping his cup of coffee.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about the coffee," Ronnie said as he got up to go to the kitchen. "Hey, little bro' good to see you," he said as he passed him. Donnie just nodded.

Donnie made his way over carefully, and sat on the empty couch. "Sorry about running off, mom, but something came up".

"Well, I'm sure it was important," she replied, looking at him warily.

"Yeah, pretty much."

Ronnie came walking back in carry two cups of coffee. He handed one to Austin as he stood in front of the love seat. He turned to Donnie, "This is Austin, my fishing buddy and new best friend," he said as he sat down beside his lover.

Donnie got up and walked over and shooked Austin hand, "Good to meet you Austin".

"Good to meet you as well. Ronnie has told me alot about you."

"All of it good, I'm sure," as he laughed.

"More or less." Austin said slyly.

"Yeah, I bet," he said as he returned to the couch.

Austin was much more relaxed now that Donnie had calmed down and sobered up a bit.

Jan got up to go get her coffee and looked at her husband, "Honey, would you like some coffee?"

"Naw, I'm good."

"You should come fishing with us some weekend," Austin said to Donnie.

"Yeah, that would be fun. Let's set it up."

"Cool." Austin and Ronnie both said at the same time.

As Jan sat back down with her coffee, the kids walked over to her and sat in her lap. They both layed their heads on her shoulders.

"I think I have two boys who are ready for bed. Are you ready to go honey?" she asked as she looked at JL.

"Whenever you are."

"Ok, you take Johnny and I'll take Tommy."

JL got up and picked up Johny. She got up holding Tommy and said, "It was really nice meeting you Austin. I hope to see you again soon. Take good care of my brother, ok."

"I will, and it was nice meeting you also," he said knowingly and grinning.

"Good seeing you again little brother, don't stay away so long."

"I'll try not too. Be careful sis, I love, and merry Christmas you two. "

"Love you too little brother, and merry Christmas to you two as well. Mom, dad, Donnie..we'll see you tomorrow."

Her mom and dad each got up and gave her a hug, and kissed both of the boys. "Ya'll be careful driving home," her dad said.

Soon after his sister and her family left, Ronnie said, "Well, I guess we're next, we have a long drive ahead of us."

"We sure enjoyed the visit, and it was so nice meeting you Austin," he mother said. "I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas tomorrow."

"Thank you, I really enjoyed the visit and meeting everyone, and I hope ya'll have a great Christmas also." He looked over at Donnie and said, "Good meeting you Donnie, have a good Christmas, and come see us sometime and will do some fishing."

"You too. I may just take you up on that," Donnie replied.

He shook Mr. Walker's hand and said, "Thank you, so much for your hospitality, and merry Christmas."

"It was my pleasure, son, and I hope you and your family have a merry Christmas as well. And see if can get Ronnie to visit more often," he chuckled.

"I'll see what I can do."

"Ok, I love you mom and dad. I'll try to get back to see you more often."

They replied in unison, "We love you too, son."

Ronnie looked at Donnie, who seemed to be doing much better. "Take care of yourself little brother, come see us."

"You too, and I'll try.

Ronnie's mom, dad and his brother walked with them to Ronnie's truck.

"Be careful driving home, son," his dad said.

"I will."

"Bye", was said by all as Ronnie and Austin got in the truck. They all waved as they took off.

"I sure enjoyed your family. They were all so kind and friendly. I really had a nice time," Austin said.

"They are almost always kind and friendly, but I could tell that they really liked you. They weren't just going through the motions. It was genuine."

"I believe you. I could feel it. What do you think about Donnie's situation?" Austin asked.

"I don't have a clue, but it must have been something monumental, and I'm gonna find out what it was."

"After he sobered up, he was a really nice guy. But, at first, I was worried, and didn't like him at all."

"Yeah, I know. That was definitely out of the ordinary for him. And trust me, he is a nice guy."

They got back to Ronnie's house safely, but as two very tired young men. They got in the house, and went straight to the bedroom. After brushing their teeth, they began to strip off their clothes.

Ronnie gave Austin a good kiss as they were undressing. When they were completely naked, their cocks were totally flacid.

"I love you babe, but I'm just too tired for sex," Ronnie stated.

"I agree. I just wanna crash."

They fell on the bed and got under the covers, with Ronnie spooning Austin.

"Night, night babe," Ronnie said as he kissed Austin's neck.

"Night, night babe. I love you."

"I love you."

Within seconds, they were both sound asleep.
