Love is Real Chapter 2

Ronnie was almost frozen as he stood there in front of this gorgeous young man, and he couldn't help but smile from ear to ear.

The young man spoke. "I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention. I was looking at all the different kinds of beer. I turned 21 today, and I'm going to buy my first beer. Can you recommend some?" He seemed somewhat nervous and perhaps shy.

Ronnie continued his large and beautiful smile and said "well congratulations on your 21st. Oh..., my name is Ronnie".

The young man sort of blushed and said " it's nice to meet you. My name is Austin".

Ronnie held out his hand to shake Austin's hand saying "and it is very, very nice to meet you Austin".

Austin took Ronnie's hand is his for the handshake and continued to blush. He was just too cute. They shook hands for a little longer than normal while Ronnie was smiling his 1000 watt smile and Austin was blushing and smiling his own 1000 watt smile.

Ronnie didn"t really understand why Austin was blushing so much , but he sure knew it really looked cute on him. His brown/auburn hair and light tan looked really good to Ronnie. Maybe the reason Austin was blushing so much is because Ronnie is quite good looking himself. His brown hair and hazel eyes looked equally well on his 5'11" 160 lb. body with the broad shoulders, thin waist, and muscular chest, arms and legs and a little darker tan than Austin's. So, perhaps Austin was just a lil bit smitten with Ronnie. Maybe even a little intimadated because Austin was about 5' 8" 120 lbs., and he too had a thin waist as well defined muscles. They were both wearing flipflops, board shorts and tees with the sleeves cut out. They were both very fine male specimens.

As they eventually and slowly released the other's hand, Ronnie remembered Austin's recommedation request, so he looked at his 30 pack in his cart and told Austin, "this is what I buy. It's not expensive and I like the taste. To be honest, I like it as much as the more expensive beers. I really can't tell much difference".

Austin finally stopped blushing and said, "sounds good to me and I'm always on a budget. But I don't need a 30 pack, so I'll just grab a 6 pack of the same".

He did and they both turned to head to the checkout. Austin was walking beside Ronnie has he pushed his cart. Ronnie was thinking...and so was Austin. As they stood in line at the checkout Ronnie asked Austin, "Do you plan on drinking that by yourself?"

"I suppose" was Austin's answer.

"Well that's no way to celebrate your 21st birthday. Say... I live a few miles outside of town near the river. I even have my own private bayou...more or less. I wasn't planning on doing anything epic today, just relaxing and drinking a few beers, maybe take a boat ride. Would you like to join me and celebrate your birthday on the bayou?" And then Ronnie flashed his 1000 watt smile again.

" Well, uh, uh, I really didn't have any big plans either. My friends stayed at school this weekend but I don't live in the dorm like they do. So, uh, uh, yeah!! That sounds like fun."

"Great!! Well, uh, my place is kinda hard to find. If you don't have any immediate plans, you can just follow me home now. Is that ok with you?"

Austin thought. Then he thought some more, and Ronnie was getting nervous. Had he come on to strongly? Finally, Austin said "yeah, sure. I certainly wouldn't want to get lost in the boonies. But, i drive an Eclipse and it rides kinda low. Will I have a problem with the roads?"

Ronnie let out a hardy laugh. " No, you'll be fine. The roads are ok and my driveway is flat and level. You won't have any ploblem getting to the house."

" Ok, cool. I'll just follow you then."

It was their turn at the checkout now. Ronnie looked at Austin and said, " The birthday boy goes first", and he smiled. Austin smiled back. "Thanks" was his reply, with him smiling also. He placed his six pack on the conveyor at the register, still smiling large. The checkout lady asked for his id, and he proudly handed it to her. She looked at the id, then back at Austin. Then she gave him his id back and rang up the purchase. He proudly payed while grinning from ear to ear. He stepped aside and Ronnie put his 30 pack on the counter, along with all the other items, thinking 'damn that boy is fine'. The lady looked at him and asked for his id. Ronnie smiled and gladly pulled out his wallet, and handed her his id. He was happy that at the age of 32 he still had that youthful appearance. He looked over at Austin and Austin gave him his 1000 watt smile, yet again. Ronnie smiled back, paid, and they headed toward the door.

WHAT IF...WHAT IF RONNIE HAD NOT FORGOTTEN TO GET THE BEER ON THE WAY TO THE MILK AISLE. IF HE HAD NOT HAD TO GO BACK TO THE BEER, WOULD HE HAVE MET AUSTIN? ONE HAS TO WONDER ABOUT THESE THINGS. WAS IT FATE? WAS IT LUCK? ONE NEVERS KNOW. YET FATE AND DESTINY ARE POWERFUL THINGS. AND WHAT DETERMINES FATE AND DESTINY? IS IT DEVINE PROVIDENCE?

Austin walked with Ronnie to his truck and helped him load his groceries and beer onto the seat behind the driver's seat.

"You ready?" Ronnie asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be", Austin replied grinning.

"Ha ha!! Ok then. Let's go."

They left the grocery store parking lot with Austin following closely behind Ronnie. As they drove, they were both thinking about this. How it happened. How they felt. And about what will happen next.

RONNIE

Damn!! Damn damn damn damn damn!! This is hard to believe. Thirty minutes ago I would never think this could happen. I've dreamed about it. I've hoped for it. But I never really thought it was likely to happen. But here i am driving home with a really, really, REALLY hot and sexy guy following me home. But damn, he is 11 years younger than me. He is still in college. And he is so fucking hot. I guess he likes me, so far. But he really doesn't know anything about me.

He doesn't know that I like guys. He doesn't know how old I am. Hell, he doesn't even know if I'm single. And I know very little about him. I sure hope he likes guys too. He hasn't said anything about a girlfriend. That's good. I better be careful about that. I don't want to scare him off. I'll just be cool and see how it goes. Well, at least, we'll have plenty to talk about. And maybe do some fishing.

AUSTIN

Damn!! I can't believe I'm doing this. This so out of character for me. I don't know anything about him. He seems like a really nice guy though. And I can use another friend. I wonder how old he is. Probably a couple of years older than me. Hmm, I'm guessing he's around 24 or 25. He hasn't said anything about a wife or kids. I'm sure he would have mentioned that when he invited me to his home to drink beer. And the boat ride should be fun.

Maybe we'll do some fishing also. But, damn, I don't have my fishing gear. I hope we get along well. As much as I like to fish, it would be cool to have friend with easy access to the river. I just need to be cool and not piss him off. I need to quit worrying and just have fun. Damn. I know I was blushing like a kid back in the store. I hate that I'm so shy. I always blush when meeting someone new. I wonder what Ronnie thought about that.

They turned off the blacktop road onto to Ronnie's asphalt driveway. Austin stopped behind Ronnie's truck as Ronnie got out to unlock and open the long metal gate. Ronnie could hear the music coming from Austin's car. It was rock, but he couldn't tell who the band was. It was Tool, one of Austin's favorite groups.

Ronnie smiled at Austin as he got back in his truck, but Austin didn't see him. Austin was looking at the scenery around him. He liked the running roses hanging all over the fence on both sides of the driveway. He noticed the large pine trees in the yard, along with alot of smaller trees with spanish moss hanging from the limbs. He couldn't see any other houses around. Nice, he thought. Very nice.

He wondered how Ronnie could afford this place at his age. It was a nice mobile home home with a shingled roof. The yard was large. Maybe an acre. The house was set up really high on concrete blocks. Looked to be about 6 ft. high off the ground. Hmm, that's strange he thought as he was looking at the front door. There aren't any steps to the door, or a porch. 'How the hell does Ronnie get in the house?', he thought.

They drove on up to Ronnie's house. Austin parked his car behind Ronnie's truck which he had parked behind a small storage building at the end of the driveway. Austin noticed a large, nicer storage building located in the side yard. It too was set up high on blocks and wooden posts about 4 ft. high.

They both got out of their vehicles and Ronnie said "Welome to my humble abode".

"Nice" was Austin's reply. "I like it. But how in the hell do you get in the house"?

"Ha ha!! You'll see. Let's go around to the back."

They walked around to the back of the house. Austin saw the huge back porch. About half of it was covered with a shingled roof which connected to the house. The other half was a series of decks and steps which eventually stopped at the bayou, which was about 75 ft. from the house.

Austin gasped. "Wow, that is so cool. Can we go down to the bayou?" He was like a kid on christmas day.

"Sure."

They walked up the steps to enter the covered deck. To the left was a set of steps to the back door of the house. "What a grand way to get in the house. This is just so cool", Austin said.

"Yeah, I kinda like it too," was Ronnie's response, showing a big grin.

Austin spotted the hot tub. "Wow!! And a hot tub too!"

"Yeah, but in the summer I don't turn the heater on. So, I guess now you could call it a cool tub ."

Austin laughed. Ronnie smiled. He really liked Austin's laugh. It was so genuine.

They walked down a few steps and went past the 'cool tub' then down some more steps to next next level. Austin could see that the deck had been built around several large cypress trees that provided shade for that deck which had several chairs scatterd about. One of the cypress trees had a porch swing hanging from one of the lower limbs.

They continued on down some more steps to the last level which barely overhung the bayou. "This is my favorite part of the porch. I do alot of fishing from here."

"I bet. I can't wait to try it out. I love to fish".

"Really? Cool. But I mainly just catch bream and catfish from here. The bass fishing is not too good at this spot. But, bream is my favorite anyway."

"I like 'em all, but yeah, bream are the best tasting. I guess that's why they're called sweet bream."

"Exactly"! Ronnie couldn't agree more.

Austin then stared in silence at the cypress covered bayou. Then he looked at Ronnie and said, "Man, this is great. I think I could sleep out here every night".

Ronnie said, "I know what you mean. I've slept out here many times." But he was thinking ' no, I want you sleeping in my bed with me'.

They spent a few more minutes of silently looking around at the bayou scenery. Then Ronnie said, "let's go back up and I'll show you the house after we take in the beer and groceries."

Austin turned and laughingly said, " Oh yeah! I had forgotten about that. All this makes me just forget about everything. But, yeah, I'm ready for a beer. And to start celebrating my birthday. I'm so glad that when met. This is gonna be so much fun".
